Haha, he does, doesn't he? I really like this guy.

But I wish they had gone with the condemnation, though I doubt it would have passed. I would love to be condemned, as Santheres so deftly pointed out.

Well, I'd love to be condemned, just for the badge. Hell, soon, there will be offers of condemnations. ;)

Good luck with that. There have been two attempts by the WA to condemn Hippostania, neither of them succeeded.

Possibly. I am a Mercantilist - I take it you are more authoritarian on economic issues?

Yeah. I generally take my economic policies from continental Christian Democracy rather than the dominant Anglo-American conservative trend towards free-market capitalism and neoliberalism. Most US conservatives probably wouldn't even recognise me as conservative- though to be fair, I don't really think the Republican Party is properly conservative either.
Old Tyrannia wrote:Of course, I must confess that Kaiser Wilhelm II, who was responsible for removing Bismarck from office, is an even greater hero of mine.

Though I do admire him as the last German Emperor, and for having quite the mustache, I must say I don't like his dismissal of Bismarck or his responsibility in part for getting the Empire into the First World War - though it most definitely was not his fault, in any way. Gah, who to lay the blame for that war on... France! Yeah, they're the bastards that did it! They were serious assholes at the end of the war, anyway.[/quote]
The First World War always strikes me as the most stupidly unnecessary war in history. I don't believe it was Germany's fault at all, but nor was it Britain's or France's. Or even Russia or Austria-Hungary. All have to shoulder a small proportion of the blame, but the greatest amount must go to the small group of Serbian malcontents who assassinated the Archduke and set the whole damn thing in motion.

No.

Defended clerics and Jews during the National Socialist period, was a monarchist? I like him already.

My main political hero, and the source of my favourite monarchist quote. You can read more about him here- there's much more information there than on Wikipedia. Mind you, I also count Marie Antoinette as one of my hero(in)es, which most people would take as conclusive proof of my mental instability.

The President they have now isn't even that great...

Their new president (who was actually sworn in today), Pena-Nieto, is a lot worse than Calderon, though.

Yeah, I was talking about Calderon. Personally, I think the US should just annex Mexico. It'd give us a chance to use our troops to secure some vacationing spots...

That is the worst idea I have ever heard. Simply because I would rather those drug traffickers stay over there and not spill into Texas--where I live.

You appear to actually believe our national borders stop them. They're spilling into the U.S. all the time. If we annexed Mexico, we could just set the Marine Corps on them - implement martial law for half a year, and I guarantee the power of the paramilitary drug cartels will be significantly decreased, if existent at all.

But, I am an avid imperialist.

The vacationing part as a joke. I live in Texas also, but either we annex Mexico so we can control the drug problem, or they allow us to basically send another expedition to find and wipe out the cartels...
