Ibraham yelled viciously as he fired at the Chinese invaders, the vicious attackers of his homeland. From the small earthen defenses that the Ottomans had defending this border he and his brethren poured lead into the charging Chinese hordes, scything down the assault even as the fiendish Chinamen scrabbled forward to engage the Ottomans at close range. One rank of the defense would fire, breaking the attackers' charge, and then the other would give fire to the foe. The two defense lines of the Ottomans of the 2nd, 16th, and 34th Rohs stretched for miles in either direction, prepared against just such an unlikely assault.

The Emir of the Melat Province sighed, looking at the reports of Greek freedom fighters massing all over the territory. The silly fools never learned; the yoke of the Caliph was firm, and would not be thrown off. He sent a request for more men to hasten the end of the rebellion to the High Emir, then ordered his men to fan out in hundred-unit patrols across the countryside. Wherever they encountered resistance the Ottomans would fall upon it with bayonet and cannon-shell.
