Bows are way underrated in this period. According to Russian historian George Vernadsky, the Mongol bow had a pull of on average 166 pounds, and hit targets, (accuracy unspecified), at 350 yards.

English brown bess musket? 50-100 yards.

Bows are capable of indirect fire, muskets aren't. Artillery is an ineffective counter against horse archers.
