The 10 helicopters which supplied the rebels landed softly on one of the aircraft carriers. Several morose soldiers brought up crates of gas masks to load onto the helicopter. They knew the rebels would need it. The wind blew hard form the ocean as they loaded even more supplies for the rebels. Far away near Serq's region capital, the other 10 transport helicopters began unloading their troops at an abandoned civilian village near Serq's capital. After unloading, 6 of them quickly began flying back to the aircraft carriers for more supplies. The 50 attack helicopters also landed, unloading what little troops they could carry in the village and began to prepare for invasion of Serq. The air was hot and dry, dust blew through the town into the soldier's eyes and mouths. They quickly brushed their faces off before equipping their gas masks. High in the air, the bombers transported the rest of the infantry, and the cool air contrasted the weather of below. The soldiers looked below at the seamlessly endless desert, they spotted the town and immediately the green light turned on. Soldiers plummeted out of the 15 bombers by the 100's, all fell quickly towards the desert surface. The bombers, after unloading their troops, began heading back to the aircraft carriers as well. From the ground, soldiers could see the white plooms opening up then gently floating to the ground. In total, there were now 8,000 infantry, 4,000 shock troopers, and 500 officers. The dropped-in soldiers were slightly stunned by the immense heat, but nevertheless, also equipped the gas masks. The officers of the soldiers began setting up a Fire base within the village. Soldiers could be seen occupying empty houses, polishing their weapons and looking at beaten up maps of the city they were going to invade. A huge sudden crack ripped through the clear blue sky. A few miles away, the Titan mega-bombers just broke the sound barrier, and were racing to the regional capital of Serq to once again unload their bombs upon the loyalists. 2 of the attack helicopters suddenly lifted up from the village and kicked up great amounts of sand before heading slowly to the city to scout. The shock troopers set up mobile anti-missile systems to make sure their fire-base was not prematurely destroyed. Everyone waited for General Tucker's orders to invade the capital of Serq...it couldn't be too long from now. The battle over Serq was about to begin.

Olum Courthouse
An middle aged man walked through the courthouse. He had a rough beard, a beanie on his head, jeans and a black shirt with a vest on. The vest was from an Azadliqan soldier; it still had his blood on it.
The man had a hunting rifle slung over his shoulder, and munched on a hot pocket as he walked into the administrative building. Upon seeing the Colonel he smiled, food still in his mouth.
"Hello there Colonel! Ima Sal, the captain of the rebel cells in this town." He said with a wicked grin. He offered the Colonel a bottle of whiskey and said, " Welcome to Olum! Why don't you step into my office?"

Village of Littleton, about 70 miles north of Xezine

Sergeant Walls leaned against the truck, pulling out cigarette. He lit it and puffed smoke into the air as Private Allan sat on the ground next to him.
"So, how was your first day in combat?" the sergeant asked, with little sincerity. The private didn't answer, just kept staring at the ground. What was he thinking about? The sergeant shrugged it off. "Load up. The rebels in this town are dead, so our next stop is Xezine. We should be there in about 8 hours."

Rosehead Complex, Yeni Sehife

Neil Yusef watched the situation unfold. Xezine would fall within the next few days, and so would the other cities if the Dictator allowed him to bomb them. But he wouldn't, not with the chemicals. Despite all appearances, James did actually care for the people, but if he didn't keep them under control, the corporations would have to "remove" him.
Neil dismissed these thoughts and turned to another situation. Serq was about to be invaded, that much was certain. He hoped the bombings hadn't damaged the sewer and subway systems too much, they would be useful for ambushing the Dissant troops. A thought occurred to him suddenly.
"Officer, have our military facilities in Serq applied policy X613 yet??"
"Yes, sir, just last year."
Neil turned to his second in command. "Do we still have Matheson's seal?"
"Yes, we do."
"Good. Send this document to the commander there; tell him to use it if he is unable to keep the city."
"Yes, sir." The officer left the office to send the message.
Neil went back to his thoughts. He couldn't do a missile bombardment like they did in Xezine, but surely a precision airstrike would be tolerated? The recent intel led him to believe the Dissants were at either an airfield outside the city, or an evacuated village on the other side... he couldn't bomb both, but which one to choose? He flipped a coin.
"Officer, give the order to bomb the airfield. Send CAC scouts to monitor the area around the city. If something moves and its not us, I want to know about it." He turned away, then back and said, "Everyone there that's not an Azadliqan soldier is now hostile. The civilians should be through with evacuations by now." He turned to leave; he had a hot date to keep.

Olum Courthouse

The Colonel smiled politely. A civilian turned killer, easier to manipulate into a hero of the proletariat. Yet he didn't trust the man. He didn't let it show, instead changing topics. Plus, the weaponry had to be handed out. There were plane loads of them, that would help the militant rebels.

"Nice to meet you. How about we go to the airport instead? We brought weapons, many to help your cause. I thought you might like to inspect and hand them out, in order to invade the Loyalist centers."

90 miles southeast of Xezine

The General and his armed forces had arrived. They couldn't arrive close enough to the city, since the planes had limited range and the ocean was so far off. Instead, they set up a FOB southeast of Xezine, in order to stay far enough from the front lines until they were ready. The General hoped the message the Party had sent had reached the people of the Rebellion. He sat in a tent, examining reports of helicopters, the Mi-24D that was the workhorse of the airmobile infantry. The T-80 tanks were well adapted to the terrain, and would be ready in an hour. He had sent a regiment of communications specialists out by the airfield that was constructed. They were contacting the government in Xezine, sending a simple message.

The People's Baasist Military of Teotan has arrived. We are at the Rebellion's disposal. This is an automated message. Respond when possible.

While he waited for results, he awaited information about an attack to the front lines. He needed to speak with leaders of the village, see their sympathies and get directions. What a strange country. So similar, yet so foreign.

"Sure! Just don't expect us to fly anything," Sal said, taking a gulp from the bottle. "Even if one of us was a pilot, this is the first time we've been able to drink since prohibition 20 years ago!" he gave a hearty laugh, passing the bottle to another rebel, and followed the Colonel.

Rosehead Complex, Yeni Sehife
James read the reports. He didn't like Neil going off on his own, but unless he did something ridiculous or stupid, he'd let it slide.
He looked at the next report. Great, more foreigners. Just what he needed. They were too far out of his reach for now, but when they reached Xezine, it'd be a bloodbath.

Vancouver, Committee Chambers
The Committee sat in the Chamber and watched the horror unfolding on the screen. civilians being massacred by collateral damage, inhumane gas attacks, and the internationally broadcasted death of a reporter. civilians killed by both sides in droves.

Minister Kanistev immediately flew to his feet, "This is madness! These rebels must be stopped, and we will not do it with simple aid. We must declare an international emergency and send in our troops, could we stand idly by while so many civilians are killed in this war? We must bring peace before more civilians are caught in this crossfire. I call for an immediate vote of the Committee to send in Alliance military to stabilize the situation!"

For a minute there was silence as the ministers contemplated, but then a hand shot up, and then another until all 10 hands of the Committee were raised in approval.

At the aircraft carriers, the 10 transport helicopters took off with a great gust of wind, and began transporting the gas masks, as well as 800 infantry, to the Xezine capital. They would arrive within 1:45 minutes. On the other hand, the 15 bombers and 6 other transport helicopters were redirecting to the Xezine airport that was luckily heavily guarded by rebels. They would re-arm and equip there with Dissant Supplies and vehicles sent over during the first shipment. Far away, the 3 Titan bombers were now only about 7 minutes from their target. with another 13,500 bombs each with 70 pounds of explosives ready. Since the surface of the city was already hurt badly, the bombs would hopefully destroy subterranean areas and as a result, avoid any Guerrilla warfare when the invasion begins. The two scout helicopters buzzed towards the city. Suddenly they stopped. The pilot spoke with surprise.

"Uhh...is that what I think those are?"

The other helicopter pilot responded to him.

"Yes, soldiers. They seem to be entering the...sewers? Why would they do that?"

"They must be wanting to the jump on our soldiers...how will we be able to stop them?"

"Not sure, make sure to inform General Tucker"

The two helicopters sped off back towards the fire base, making sure not to be noticed. As they were leaving, they saw two enemy jets fly in quickly across the city. Suddenly, a few black dots seemed to drop from them. The dots fell with haste, then exploded in a massive fireball on the airfield across the city.

"What if that was a rebel outpost!"

"They...must all be dead"

"We have to head off now, start the invasion"

The Helicopters then sped off quietly back to the fire base. As they flew, they sent a telegram back to the base under Voz to General Tucker

We spotted several enemy soldiers entering the sewers in the regional capital of Serq. I believe they might plan on ambushing our troops, but we don't have any definite weapons against subterranean emplacements. The most we are hopping for is that the subterranean facilities are compromised enough by the bombs to not be useful. We have enough troops to take the city and are expecting small amounts of rebel reinforcements. We are also distributing mass amounts of gas masks to the rebels to protect against any further gas attacks and troops to protect their capital against the advancing loyalists. Please give word to us on the position of those 10 new Splinter Missiles. Any new tactical advice would also be appreciated.

OOC: Yes now i see, but the way it was worded in a previous post made me think other wise, Azadliq can you put somewhere which side you are RPing in a post, it gets confusing sometimes. I apologize.
My post has been edited accordingly, so it now sounds like i am merely joining because it is becoming out of control, not because of the rebels using gas.

OOC: @Earth Systems, will do. For the record, Loyalists gassed Xezine, Dissant carpet bombed Serq, Teotan and New Krasnovia are teaming up along a single front moving towards Xezine. And... thats the major developments so far as I can tell. 8) Also, this is my last post tonight.

Loyalists

Rosehead Complex
James read the order. X613. At least the city was evacuated. "Have they received this order?"
"Yes sir, they are going into place now."
"Good, have them wait there. Inform them that the CAC is entering the region."
"Yes sir."
His youngest general, General Lander, spoke up. "Sir, what exactly is the CAC?"
James turned to him. "The CAC is the best we have to offer. They have the best equipment, training, funding, and they are career soldiers. They don't fight out of fear, they fight out of love. CAC actually stands for the Chemical Advancement Corp. They bombard an area with chemical weapons, then execute the survivors. In Xezine's case, we needed to use the weapons before the troops could get there, however. That won't be the case here. The city has been evacuated, only the rebels remain above ground; our soldiers lie in wait."
"Wait for what?"
James turned back to the map. "For Dissant to make the mistake of setting foot in my hometown."

97th Infantry, sewers of Serq
The soldiers moved quickly through the sewer; none of them wanted to be here longer than necessary. They moved around the collapsed portions to key points along the tunnel. They didn't care about most of the tunnels, but there was a specific sewer tunnel they needed to be in.

CAC Scouting Party, Outside Serq
The scout held his binoculars up, looking out toward the village. There was massive activity here, and the soldiers were wearing Dissant uniforms.
"Radio it in. Send the coordinates to the captain."
"Yes, sir." The other scout got on the radio. He radioed in the coordinates to the village, and pulled out his sniper rifle.
"Whoa there, cowboy. We aren't shooting yet."
"Shouldn't we start killing their officers?"
"No, we wait until dark and plant bombs on their vehicles and poison their water reserves." He laughed lightly. "Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it. Besides, why did you think I brought a bottle of liquidized cyanide?"

Rebels
Serq National Airport
The fires rained over the airfield, sending the rebels into a panic. They ran to and fro, the white phosphorus burning them alive. Over half the rebel cells were convened here, waiting for the foreigners to help them flush out the city. Now, there were less than 500 rebels left in Serq.

The assault helicopter scouts arrived back at the fire base. They brought with them two special prizes they found along the way. Two dead loyalist officers they found in the desert after the first bombing. The colonel looked in aprovement.

"They will do, along with these two dead loyalist soldiers we found. Stuff their uniforms in the back seat of the helicopter and take them to the fleet. Quickly now."

Just as quickly as it came, the assault helicopter left, heading quickly back to the fleet with the uniforms. Far away, the 10 transport helicopters arrived a d gave the rebels 50 crates of gas masks for every one. In addition, it unloaded 800 troops to begin training the rebels and help defend the capital. The 15 bombers were loaded to drop 15 dissent tanks, the transport helicopters carried mortars and lifted 20 APC's for the troops. Afterward they once again took off to the firebase for the invasion. Meanwhile, the Titan bombers were once again above their target. The captain of bomber 3 spoke with pride.

"3...2...1...mark"

Once again, 13,500 bombs rained on Serq. The soldiers hoped it would end whatever the enemy was doing inside the sewers, but there was only small hope. Afterward, the bombers began heading back to Xezine airport to re-arm once again. 25 dissent fighter jets that went to help with the invasion began patrolling around the city, killing any loyalists trying to escape or snoop around. The general said to lock the city down before assaulting it.

A declaration to all other nations involved with this conflict
From: Dissant Machine Empire

Once the loyalists are defeated, we plan on making a Liberal government of the people, with an elected president instead of a lifelong dictator. We also will be installing a capitalist market, instead of the government controlled police state market they currently use. The business should be ran by the people, not the government. If any nation attempts at either installing another dictator or fascist system, we will promptly be stopping them. We will also not allow any communism, since that would only be going in reverse. With communism, the government would once again control the businesses like it does now, and a dictator would likely once again rise to power. A democracy of the people and a capitalist system is what these people need. All those helping the rebels also, we would like to ask for your assistance in making this happen after the war. To ensure peace and prosperity to both the citizens and their future economy after this war.

To: Relevant Authorities within the Democratic Rebellion of Azadliq
Commonwealth Security Directorate Codes, Ciphers & Encryption Service Level 1 - Very High

The Government of the Federal Commonwealth of Ganzjar would like, first and foremost, to congratulate the people of Southern Azadliq on their rebellion against the existing dictatorial régime governing the state. The Federal Commonwealth recognizes the Democratic Forces within Azadliq as the sole legitimate interlocutors representing Azadliq. The Federal Commonwealth requests that this recognition remains confidential until an open declaration is forthcoming. In light of the struggle your movement is having at present, we would like to offer our assistance in liberating the northern provinces of your nation. The following is our offer, which will stand until the resolution of the conflict.

1) The provision of Ganzish troops, in the form of the Azadliq Expeditionary Force (Azad-Ekspeditionsforze), which is composed of two divisions of three regiments each, plus several battalions for additional support (intelligence, etc.) This would total around 20,000 troops. Keep in mind that this number does not include air transport, which will be provided by the Ganzish Federal Air Force, provided they have ground facilities in Azadliq. The Ganzish Federal Air Force is also available to provide aerial support, and interception operations.

The Expeditionary Force will be placed under the joint jurisdiction of the Ganzish High Command and your military authority, with a high degree of autonomy regarding local decisions.

AND/OR

2) The provision of humanitarian and medical assistance to the Azadliq democratic forces, by way of a joint Ganzish Military-Ganzjar Humanitarian Corps effort. Food, water, portable shelter, first aid, generators and antibiotics, among others, can be provided thusly. The aid materials can be either transported by air or land.

AND/OR

3) The use of Ganzish computer warfare technology to interfere with/block/eavesdrop on Loyalist communications. Keep in mind that this technology remains experimental, as well as highly confidential within our security apparatus. This would mean that all operations will be conducted solely within Ganzjar.

AND/OR

4) The dispatching of military advisors to Azadliq to aid in the structuring of a new military. A team of said experts would be sent with knowledge in the army and air force, and would ideally be dispersed with Azadliq officers to various armed elements of the existing force.

By no means is the above binding - your authority should feel free to choose any or all of them (or none at all), and know that they are being provided in the interests of international democracy and the liberation of Azadliq. Whichever path the Democratic forces choose to take, please understand the Federal Commonwealth of Ganzjar stands behind their decision and hopes to have a constructive and meaningful partnership in the future.

Signed,
Carl Isenfeld
Minister of Foreign Affairs

Sir Andrew Drumont
Minister of Defence

Marshal Jacob Avoine, Marshal Sigmund Laurier
Commander of the Ganzish Army, Federal Air Force

(OOC: GRRR! I had a massive post ready when their was only two posts in this thread when my computer crashed. I return to find loads of posts and my massive post gone. Damn! Well, here comes another one...)
Now
James was in deep. He had two men either side of him dragging him along a blank and dark corridor. If only he'd kept his head down. If only he hadn't been drawn in by the mob. He looked around for any means of escape. Nothing. His only chance was to retrieve his micro pistol from his internal trouser pocket. But that wasn't going to happen at the moment...

30 minutes earlier
James had never run so fast in his life. Even in basic, he never ran like this. Bullets pinged off of objects around him. A bullet passed millimetres from his head. He could feel the disturbed air hit his face. He fired off his last two shots in his magazine. He was completely out of ammo. He had to get out of his pursuers line of fire. He turned a corner and found himself outside a sport shop. He dived in, hoping to find something to fight back with. James heard shouts getting closer. He ran to the back of the store. His luck made a turn for the better as he looked up at what was hanging from the wall. A bow. He grabbed it and looked around for arrows. He found them just in time. The three men came running through the door to... arrow fire. One of the men was hit right between the eyes and he dropped like a stone. The others found cover. James continued to fired. The arrows were flying all over the place. Another one took an arrow right in the chest and he went down. One more. But James was out of arrows. He stumbled around the store looking for... He stopped as he felt the barrel of a pistol on his head. James paused in panic, then remembered what to do. In one fluid motion. James spun around, disarming the man and knocking him to the floor. He fired three shots into him at point blank range. James wiped the blood off the end of the barrel and ran out of the store back on to the main street, were he was greeted by about 25 armed police men. James dropped the gun and stuck his hands behind his head. His luck had ran out.

Now
James was in an interrogation room. He knew he was being watched. A man walked in. He was clearly a high ranking agent. "Hello agent 2361, or should I call you James Clint. Nice to know Zidano is taking an interest in us yes?" James couldn't hide his surprise. "You know, always take part in the international community" James replied. The man smiled and continued. "Even though we have nothing against foreigners in our lands, we don't like them snooping around in sensitive documents" He pulled out the double sided coat. James' face dropped. "Or murdering three of my best men". The man pulled out 2 arrows and a gun. James pulled a sarcastic sad face. "Well I do apologies for that. If I had known they were your's, I wouldn't have touched them." The man pulled a smile, showing a golden tooth. James then realised who he was talking to. "You... you are a funny man James. I wish I didn't have to kill you. And I still don't, If you tell me exactly what you were doing in my facility and were your contact with in our own ranks is"...

35 minutes earlier
The light turned on in the back of the van. James saw everything he needed before him. A memory stick, 2 pistols, one normal, one micro, an officers hat, a double sided coat (one side, a civilians coat, the other, a military officers uniform) and a military ID card with the name General Bashir Calacar. James' face was covered in a latex mask that matched his general's face exactly. He heard the van stop. He smoothly picked up the everything and packed it into the appropriate places. The driver, who's face had been obscured by a screen, said "Take this suitcase and place it in the file room. Get as much data as you possibly can and run". The driver opened the screen a smidgen and passed through a suitcase. "DO NOT open it!" James Looked at the suit case and nodded. He opened the door and walked towards the Rosehead Complex. He easily got through all of the security check points. He was disappointed at the lack of security in this top base. As he moved to wards the File room he bumped into someone. As he looked up, he recognised him. It was a man who he had been following the 3 years he had been stationed in Azadliq. The man apologised, his gold tooth reflecting the light. James quickly moved on. He was anxious. As he opened the door to the file room the man he had just bumped into appeared with a silenced pistol next to him. James looked at him, then at the gun. The moment seemed to last for ever. Then James made a decision that would hopefully safe him. "What are you doing officer?" The man looked stunned, not expecting that reply. He apologised, blaming it on mistaken identity. As he left, James breathed a sigh of relief. He entered the room and closed the door behind him. He saw the main computer in the middle of the room. He stuck the memory stick in, which began to download the data. Then he set about hiding the briefcase. He placed it behind the computer. The stick gave a quite beep. James pulled the drive out and placed it with his micro pistol in a secret internal pocket and walked out of the room. He quickly went back through the check points and into an alley. Their he ripped the latex of his face and changed his coat around to the civilian side. He confidently walked out into the main street where a car pulled up next to him. He stopped, puzzled. The blackened window slowly rolled down to reveal three men with silenced pistols. He ducked as shots zipped above his head. He quickly turned and began to run a long the road. He saw the men get out of the car and begin to follow. As he ran, his coat slipped of him. He had never ran so fast in his life...

Now
"I don't actually know the answer to both those questions" The man was not satisfied with that answer. "I'll ask you a different question" He he reached under the table and presented a briefcase. "What is this?" James' face contorted with thought. "I don't know. I was under explicit orders not to open it. I wasn't told at the beginning of the op and I'm still in the dark" The man smiled and opened the case. James' eyes opened in shock. It was a suitcase nuke. His mouth opened slightly. "Don't worry it's disarmed. Your government has payed a handsome sum to get both the case and you back. But it wasn't enough". James then heard a loaded gun under the table. 3 shots fired. James breathed in sharply the crumbled onto the table. The man walked over to him and took out James' memory stick. It was very advanced. He turned it over and saw to things.
Code: Select all
Files sent. Internal self implode activated
Personal message: Fuck YOU

The man through the stick down in rage. It then set fire. He knew that his actions had probably brought Zidano into the chaos of the war...

"Sir, I have our operational plan," Reicher was already speaking as he walked into the President's office, not even bothering to knock.

"Well it's about damn time!" Sjorfreid snatched the folder out of his hands and began to read.

"Sorry Sir," Reicher had assumed an immaculate position of attention, "We had a bit much of the Army-Navy rivalry"

When the President was finished, he signed the bottom and applied his seal, "There you-- John! Would you cut out that parade ground shit? Look, I understand that the plan took longer than expected, I don't care, it doesn't matter. Just get it done."

Reicher saluted, "Aye aye Sir!"

And with that, Operation Endurance was underway.

"Alright people, listen up!" Captain Phillips' voice rang over the headsets of the troopers, their fully sealed helmets drowning out the roar of the plane in flight, "The Loyalists are marching toward this city intent on taking it and breaking the back of the Rebellion. Our job is to keep that from happening. They have been giving everything they've got to this offensive. We even have confirmed reports that they have gassed the city. We are fairly sure that they are not expecting significant resistance. They are not expecting us." He paused to survey the men and women before him. "Blue Berets" they were called, after the tradition of the original Zeiffelheimian Special Forces unit that had been conceived over two hundred years earlier. Brave and capable soldiers. The 17th AESOF had seen action on the Isle of Carran in the Felbahn War. The Chazicarian Legionnaires they had fought there made chemical attacks look like a walk in the park. Phillips was confident that he and his troopers would give the Loyalist bastards more than they had bargained for, "As usual, the Ghosts are already on the ground. They report that there is an airfield just south of the city were the Rebels and their allies have been massing. The Marines are on their way there as we speak--"

"TWO MINUTES!" Came the cry of the jumpmaster from the rear of the plane.

"We are going to drop into Xezine and hold the city until either the Rangers or the Marines show up. If we are unable to hold it outright, we will abandon our static defense and make life hell for the Loyalists when they try to move in. If they want Xezine, they're going to have to take it from our cold, dead hands. One building, one room, one inch at a time."

"HOOYAH!!" The response of Able Company was deafening.

Approximately one minute and thirty seconds later, the 17th AESOF Regiment began dropping into Xezine. Within half an hour they had defensive positions firmly established, and fall-back routes planned. Even if they couldn't keep the Loyalists out, they were going to make them regret coming in.

D+1, 15:30 Hours

The Ghosts had been on the ground in Azadliq for nearly twenty-four hours. MOLO (Mid-Orbit Low Opening) jumping into the Xezine region had been risky, and costly as well; nearly eighteen men had failed to check in by L-Hour +10, and another twenty-two were wounded and effectively out of the fight. But Command had deemed it necessary. Someone had to slow down the Loyalist advance and buy time for the Rebels to bolster the defenses of Xezine. The Ghosts were just the men for the job.

"Talk to me Crusher," Colonel McCollard spoke to one of his scouts via his noise-cancelling mouthpiece (a special toy of the Ghosts), "What do you see?"

"Goggles, hate 'em," the Ghosts were used to wearing the somewhat bulky headgear that made them able to communicate yet remain vocally silent, but the fully sealed gas-masks they had been given were going to take some getting used to.

"Roger that Crusher, Report."

"Ten..Fifteen. Scouts," Lance Corporal Ryan "Crusher" Calligan was concealed within a bluff along with another Ghost, PFC Thomas "Killer" Kilhoune. Both men were expert marksmen, as are all Ghosts, and armed with M-7 DMRs, standing by to either engage the enemy patrol, or fall-back to rejoin the rest of the 15th. Across the ravine, and about fifty meters farther south, were two of their comrades. Lance Corporal Vanovich and Sergeant "Hex" Miller. Vanovich and Hex were the Company's two best marksmen, and each of them had brought an R-900 .75 caliber anti-materiel/armor rifle, just in case. Crusher and the others waited for their commander to respond, but they didn't have to wait for long.

"Okay Crusher, if it's anything less than twenty, waste 'em before you fall back. When you cut back here I want you to leave them something to remember you by."

"Roger. Wilco," Crusher toggled the all-hands channel for the four men in the ravine, "Engage."

As Crusher finished speaking he opened fire, double-tapping the second man in the forward squad of the patrol. Beside him, Killer squeezed off two rounds at the point man. From behind them he heard the report of Vanovich's beloved M-7, four times in rapid succession, knowing Vanovich, he likely had four targets as well. Two hundred and fifty yards was an impressive shot with an M-7. Four shots in rapid succession at two-seventy five was something only Vano could pull off. His burst was followed by the zip-BOOM of the R-900 as Hex fired on the Loyalist escort vehicle. Crusher grinned, the R-900 could turn anything less than a fully armored MBT into swiss cheese without a problem. But he paused only for a moment before finding his next target and squeezing off two more rounds. The Loyalists would never know what hit them.

Meanwhile, about a mile south of Crusher's position, the rest of 15th Company and the entire 1101st Detachment was preparing to make advancing through the mountains a living (or more appropriately a dying) hell for the advancing Loyalists. Of course the Ghosts simply lacked the manpower to stop the enemy advance outright. But McCollard would be damned if they couldn't slow it to a crawl. A slow, painful, bloody crawl.

134th Marine Battalion, 76 miles Outside Xezine

Sargent Hannilis rode atop the M-1 APC at the head of the column moving down the road. He and his regiment had just been deployed to Azadliq within hours of the Alliance's declaration. They were needed near the city of Xezine where the rebels were launching a massive offensive, and reinforcements were needed desperately. Looking around, Hannilis noted the men's behavior; gung-ho, as always. Alliance Marines were always a lively bunch. Hannilis himself allowed himself a smile, it had been years since the marines were actually deployed for war, and everyone was excited.

Suddenly an explosion rang out, and gunfire was now audible. The column erupted in whoops and cheers. The Marines smelled blood, and it was close.

"'Bout 6 or 7 miles out I'd say." a voice called out

"Party time fellas!" another called. It wouldn't be long now, and Hannilis checked his weapon and ordered the column to speed up.

It certainly is party time Hannilis thought, and grinned slightly as they rushed towards the sounds of war.

Saliuzien Humaitarians have now set up camp and are already recieving casualties. On the map provided, the black dots are the location of refuge centres, which includes a hospital, cafeteria, sleeping area and a primary/high school. The Centres can provide for just above 5 Million People. The Blue Oval is the Saliuzien Azadliq Operation Headquaters, where our project leaders and conferences are held. Also this place acts as a double refuge centre, providing for 10 Million and the First Priority Hospital. So therefore, unless any force notifies the Operation Office, all people in refuge centres that are deemed very ill will be airlifted in marked ambulance helicopters to the Headquaters.

Grand Excellency Hanzen Marki - "The reason why I have the ministry meeting today is to discuss the final matters of importance for the Azadliq Operations. I understand that things have become quite hostile, Arnold how are the camps going?"

Chairperson Arnold Pete'sport - "They have just finished setting them up and we've already seen 27 Million throught the doors in the past couple of hours, most of them are being followed by someone still trying to get their name!"

Prime Chairman Marcus Deliah (Heradf of Government) - "So things aren't going to protocol then? How long will it take to get the forms filled out?"

Chairperson Arnold Pete'sport - "They are going to take about an hour each, because its hard for our surveyors to get information when they are being treated, so they can only really ask questions when they are being transferred or when the staff are called to another patient. It will all fall in place, it is just taking a bit more time."

Saliuzein Humanitarian Aid Protocol requires a 1 page form to be filled out with basic things such as; Age, Gender, Where From, Language, Mode of coming to the camps and first contact.

Grand Excellency Hanzen Marki - "Very well, now things have been escalating to gas attacks am I right Arnold?"

Chairperson Arnold Pete'sport - "Correct"

Grand Excellency Hanzen Marki - "Well we must ensure your security, Anna, how much more can CUBES take out of the bank?"

Chairperson Anna Sprollof (CUBES and Attorney-General) - "About 10,000 Units, there's already 5,000 there."

CUBES - Corps. Upholding Binary Executive Security - Protects both Saliuziens and Foriegn Dignitaries.

Grand Excellency Hanzen Marki - "Good, we might need them, make sure they are sent with Arnold. Everything Agreed?"

Everybody Simulatainiously (including Chairpersons and other Leaders not mentioned) - "Agreed!"

Time: 4:00 AM, 10 miles south of Serq

The 8000 soldiers, 4000 shock troopers, and 500 officers sat within the abandoned buildings of the village 10 miles south of Serq. They were preparing for invasion, and had received the supplies from the 15 bombers and 6 transports. Currently, they were happy and confident. Several shock troopers could be seen setting up mobile SAM launch nodes and mortars. The dark sky was barely pierced by a slight glow on the horizon, but nothing more. The desert looked like fields of grainy asphalt in the shadow of night. Far away, they could see the city of Serq, now reduced almost to complete rubble after the 2 bombing runs. Currently the Titan bombers, as well as the 15 normal bombers, were back in the Xezine airport re-arming. Hopefully the bombers would be ready for the invasion day. The other 6 transport helicopters spewed sand everywhere and in all the houses as they landed. A small wave of heat came form them, but soon it was dead silent once again. The many officers waited in the tents establishing ideas to remove the enemy soldiers hiding in the sewer. It was an extremely hard choice. Currently, the invasion force was not in possession of any real earth-penetrating weapons. The new 15 tanks and 5 APC's were greatly appreciated from the transport helicopters and bombers. One tank was still moving silently through the night to the designated storage area. Most soldiers were asleep in the beds of the homes, but some soldiers were paroling around the village. Only 10 jet planes patrolled around the city now, since the other 15 needed to be re-fueled at the Xezine airport. Suddenly, a large boom came from one of the large mortars in the village, and it traveled into the city. From a distance, a little burst of light came form the city and disappeared. No one was surprised, all night single shots have rung out to the city. They have kept the light bombardment up since 1:00 AM. Hopefully they would invade soon, they wanted to take Serq quickly.

Dissant Feet, 4:00 AM

The 10 splinter missiles have arrived, as well as 10 more transport helicopters and 50 Warmonger units. In addition, the uniforms form the assault helicopter arrived. The warmongers took the uniforms with them to their personal quarters in the aircraft carrier Assiah. Only one piece of the plan remained, they needed to steal a loyalist helicopter, which will be easy when they invade Serq. Everyone in the fleet monitored the Civil war closely, and the many new allies dropping in. The war would hopefully soon be over.

Dear Azadliq,
We have sent mercenaries to gain the trust of the rebels. THey will be wearing a red bandana on their arm. If they are shot the mercenary allies will shoot other loyalists and Royal Troops will withdraw from this civil war. THese mercenaries will destroy the military compound.

Perinpan TIme!

This just in, The Royal Empire is sending 150 000 troops to the nation of Azadliq to fight of the coup d'etat. After a 91% vote for sending our troops the Perinpanian government has sent the airforce and the army to go over there. Ships will take the forces abroad to Azadliq and they will go across the nations to the border of Azadliq where they will fight off all rebels.

On a boat to Markarth

"Alright since this is a landlocked nation, we need to get a passage way through some nation to get to Azadliq, we have already contacted them sir." The General says to King Gotham. King Gotham then says, "Remember your mission is to round up all the rebels to Xezine. From there we will kill all the rebels. Also since our special oportives are here, their sole mission will be to kill their leader, which is... Ah! Paula Harborson!, Got it?" The General replies, "yes sir". The boat continues to Markarth which will be arriving in 2 hours. Most of the troops are taking a quick nap for the night raids.

Loyalists

Greeting from The Empire of the People. We have heard of your troubles in your country and have extended our hand in friendship.

We have dispatch a special unit of our Imperial Forces to aid your army in combating these rebels. I know they will come quite handy in your struggle.

In exchange we hope you will not forget our friendship in the future.

Countess Arianna Ariavel

Dear Elven government,
We graciously accept any and all help you can provide in this fight. We would be honored to fight alongside your troops to defeat these terrorists that have brought chaos to this region.
Sincerely,
James Matheson, Dictator

Dissant Machine Empire wrote:The assault helicopter scouts arrived back at the fire base.

OOC: What two dead soldiers in the desert? The CAC scouts are alive and well :meh: Speaking of which...

CAC Scouts
Dissant Fire Base, 10 miles outside Serq

The scout passed under the vehicle, narrowly dodging the flashlight from the nearby patrolman. He pulled out a small wad of semtex, placed it on the fuel line, and set the detonator. He waited a moment, crawled out from under it and moved to the nearby building. The other scout was there, waiting for him.
"Did you poison the water?"
"Aye, sir. Planted some explosives on the anti-missile system as well, had to kill a guard to get to it though."
"Good job, but be more careful next time." He began to move back toward the dunes. "I was only able to get it on a few of their vehicles- we didn't expect this many this soon. We'll destroy as many as we can, and hope it makes a difference."
They reached the dunes, and the older scout handed the younger scout the remote detonator. "Wanna see some fireworks?"
He pressed the button.

City of Xezine
17th AESOF Regiment
D+1, 08:00 Hours

Rebel Controlled Territory within the region of Xezine

Neil walked into the command center, a steaming cup of coffee slamming down on the table. "I leave for a few hours, and the entire world starts raining brimstone on us?!"He shook his head, and looked at the screen in the front of the room.
"Sir, we have reports of casualties among one of the scouting parties along the Xezine Front. Their here," a red dot appeared on the screen, just five miles north of Xezine.
"Thermal imaging from a satellite?"
A box appeared on the screen as it zoomed into the area. Six men lied on the road, obviously dead. A bright white mass was obviously their mobile. Eleven men were hiding on the sides of the pass, behind various cover. As they zoomed out, two small thermal masses appeared on the side of a nearby mountain.
"Those must be the men who attacked them. Send a UAV, kill them." Neil sipped from his mug and immediately spit out the coffee. "Ugh, this tastes like shit. What else do I need to worry about?"
"Sir, several foreign military divisions have moved into Xezine."
He sighed in frustration. "Has the weapons cache in the city been compromised?"
"We don't know, sir."
"Get me a line to our mole. I warned him about the gas attack; he should still be alive."
James Matheson walked into the center and turned to the officer. "What about the soldiers in Serq?"
Another officer turned and spoke. "We received word from the Colonel in the area. He has about 2000 men in the sewers; he said something about a Falcon being in position?"
James and Neil smiled at each other. "Tell him to release it when the invasion begins. Now Neil, what's the status of the CAC in the areas?"
Neil spoke with confidence. "They're using the old mines near Xezine to get close to the city without being detected, there's about 500 of them there. The foreigners undoubtedly brought anti-chemical equipment with them, so I have them armed with white phosphorus instead of the normal chemicals. As for Serq, they're about 30 miles out, and there's 5000 soldiers there. The army is moving 30000 toward Xezine on their western and northern flanks, and 15000 toward Serq. The rest are preparing for your next orders."
"Very good. As for these mercenaries, inform our men to watch their fire."
"Yes, James."
James glared at Neil for speaking so informally in front of the men, but didn't do anything about it. Neil was a valuable asset, and a rare one. It wasn't too common to find a young man who could make difficult decisions without losing any sleep over the consequences. Neil was good at his job, but was also a ruthless sociopath. James was scared. To What lengths would Neil go to to make sure this rebellion was crushed?

Frederick saw more documents coming in from the foreign powers. He had trouble seeing through the condensation on the goggles, but the gas would die down soon enough. He decoded the documents and went into a side office. He powered on the fax machine, typed in the number, and put in the documents. Assuring that they were sent to Rosehead successfully, he prepared to leave when his pager rang. He powered on the nearby computer and connected to the IM network.
He typed quickly, hoping to not be seen. After a few minutes, he saw the intent of this message. Neil Yusef wanted him to cripple the rebel leadership. Upon seeing 3 million dollars transferred into his offshore account, Frederick closed the computer and went to Paula's office. Her second in command was sitting there with her, a shotgun on his lap. Frederick sat his gun in the corner and handed her the documents. As she began to read them, he grabbed the shotgun from the man in the chair. The man struggled with him, but Frederick still managed to get a shot at Paula. The man threw him to the ground and pointed the shotgun at him as three rebels burst through the doors.
"It was him! He shot her!" Frederick shouted, pointing at the man with the shotgun. The three rebels grabbed him and dragged him into the courtyard of the arsenal, beating him to death with their guns.
Frederick stood up, cradling his jaw. He pulled out his lighter, picked up the documents from the table, and began to burn them. As they burned, he moved Paula's corpse aside and he sat in the chair.
He was the third in command. He was the rebel leader now. And no matter how the war ended, he was going to be a very rich, powerful man. That suits me, he thought, after all, I am the illegitimate son of a former Dictator.

1:00 PM, 10 miles south of Serq

Soldiers and officers alike lie dead everywhere. Some were poisoned, some killed by the exploding vehicles. Not only did 10 transport helicopters have to bring in fresh water, but they were now about 150 men short. In addition, 5 out of the 15 tanks were destroyed and 2 of the 5 APC's, leaving only a small amount of vehicles left. The invasion must begin. About 5000 infantry, along with 100 officers and 2000 shock troopers marches closer to the city. The 1,950 shock troopers, 2,920 infantry, and 380 officers staying in the fire base as reserves began shooting off mass amounts of mortar shells during the march. 10 Assault helicopters raced ahead of the march and entered the rubble of the city. They began flying between the destroyed buildings when a rocket suddenly shot up from one of the sewer grates near the edge of the city, destroying one of the helicopters. 3 of the 9 remaining helicopters suddenly turned and shot several missiles, killing the 3 loyalist soldiers hiding and collapsing a small part of the sewers. One of the 9 helicopters then dropped into the streets and began loading the surviving pilot of the downed helicopter. As they began to take off, several more soldiers came out of another sewer grate and shot at the helicopter, killing the co-pilot. The helicopter then flew quickly out of the rubble city to repair and replace the dead co-pilot. The other helicopters once again turned and shot the 10 ambushing loyalists. All lay dead, but the helicopters knew that was but a sliver of the real loyalist forces. The helicopters circled back around, back towards the edge of the city. They continued flying around the edge of the city where the marching soldiers would enter, occasionally shooting the stranded loyalists running for a sewer grate. Overhead, screaming mortar shells flew over the helicopters and landed near the center of the city with a large bang. The soldiers marching towards the city kicked up a massive dust storm, the dirt merely swiped their gas masks with sand though. Within 30 minutes, they would arrive in the city for the large invasion. The 3 remaining APC's carried 45 shock troopers in advance into the city quietly. The shock troopers unloaded and occupied one of the few standing buildings left near the edge of the city. The 3 APC's then quickly returned back to the marching line. The remaining 45 sock troopers took out sniper rifles. Trough their scopes, they saw the marching line and on the other side, further into the city. They planned of providing cover fire for the marching soldiers from the top of the building. They waited in silence for an ambush.

The Dissant Fleet, 1:00 PM

The other half of the army still inhabited the fleet ships. Waiting to be called in to possibly help with the invasion. The 10 transport helicopters began carrying 5 Splinter Missiles and 5 missile trucks to the Xezine airport for support during the invasion. They did not plan on letting Serq be lost to the loyalists. The others laid in wait for further news...That's when the news of the rebel leader death came.

An emergency address about the civil war was given to the people of the nation.

We have lost many soldiers today during our pre-invasion of Serq, due to a sabotage attempt by the Loyalists. We lost 150 soldiers as well as several vehicles. It is a sad day because of these losses. On the other hand, our soldiers are now hopeful and marching to take Serq as we speak! *Cheering* Unfortunately though, the rebel leader was killed today. In her honorable place, the 3rd in command, Frederick, has taken control. We trust him to make the best choices in taking this horrible dictator to his knees.*Pause* The rebel leader's death was unfortunate, but that will not stop our efforts in Azadliq. In fact, it will only strengthen our will to press on! *cheering*

Gun shots were heard followed by the a large explosive sound. Agent Hyo, Agent Tau and Agent Chu, with the aid of a hostage entered the room splattered with blood and Frederik sitting down on the executive chair. "Woah this is a mess", Agent Tau says. Frederick picks up a gun and says, "who are you? What are you doing here?" Agent Hyo stands up and says, "Agent Tau show our new Rebel leader what we've been doing." Agent Tau goes out for a bit. Agent Hyo continued, "We are the Alcatrain Boom Squad, one of the world's most feared mercenary/terrorist groups out there!" Agent Tau returns with a few dead allied bodies. "Althose these were merely privates, this should prove that we are on your side. At the moment we are going to get a shipment from Tea Bay, with a new shipment of 300 000 GG-12s. These are fully automatic shotguns. Deadliest guns out there. Please show us where we can keep them. Also we have many squads out there. Agent Chu is in charge of espionage. Agent Tau is in charge of keeping tabs on weapons and executing traitors. And I'm in charge of commanding our squads. Do you have any questions before we head down your Military Holding place."

OOC: Oh ok :) That's fine :)

Loyalists

Sewers, Serq
The captain had 500 with him when he finally found the right tunnel. The other 1500 were preparing ambushes, sniper holes in the tallest buildings they could find, and planting booby traps through out the city. This wouldn't stop the invasion, but it would hopefully keep them at bay until reinforcements arrived.
He entered the tunnel, the stench finally clearing. This was a clean tunnel, unused. He went to a door along the side and took 3 of his officers with him inside it.
"Gentlemen, you've been wondering what X613 is. It's a weapon, developed and placed in each city five years ago. It can only be triggered manually, which is why we're here."
"What exactly does it do?"
The captain sighed. "It's an EMP. It destroys any and all electronics in the city and within 3 miles of the city, unless your in this tunnel. Its been hardened to withstand the blast."
"And we're going to set it off?"
"Yep."

CAC Army, 20 miles outside Serq
The commander saw the massive dust cloud being made by the Dissant forces. They had undoubtedly seen the CAC by now as well.
"Set the artillery here, on this ridge. Use the chemical shells, say... 2 Breathers and 2 Skins. Four volleys."
The commander brought his canteen to his lips. The cool tea is a savior in this region, he thought.

OOC: Breathers kill you when you breathe it in, skins burn your skin away.

North of Xezine
The pilot of the F-22 flew fast next to the mountain, keeping high enough for comfort but low enough to keep away pilots inexperienced with dog fighting next to the majesties. As he neared the position of the scouts under fire, he armed the missiles. Taking aim, he fired at the side of the mountain he was told to shoot, 3 missiles raining toward it. These were normal missiles, no chemicals or other special tricks about them. They simply exploded upon contact with the mountain. He circled once, and turned to head back to base.

Rebels

Military Arsenal, Xezine
Frederick calmed and put his gun down. He motioned out the window, "That building is a barracks. Distribute them from there. As for your squads, use them to place ambushes around the main roads in the city. If you have left over men, use them at your leisure.
Frederick read the message from Dissant; he'd done well. He took off his mask, the gas had cleared from this part of the city by now. He thought for a moment how to trick the foreigners, and sent them the following message:
Dear Foreign Powers,
I thank you for your support in our struggle for freedom, even in the light of this terrible tragedy. The traitor has been killed, and I am now the leader of the rebellion.
I would ask that you position the brunt of your forces around the arsenal in the center of the city; this is our headquarters, and we can easily help you fight from it. Our forces numbered to almost 5000 trained men before the gas; now, we have only about 800 men left. I cannot risk having them abandon this facility, nor can we risk losing it.

OOC: This is trained men. There are more rebels, they just aren't trained to fight in war.
