Roman Ship of War - Constantine The Great
Gaius Julius Caesar-class battleship

Gaius Numerius Vitulus was not a warrior; nor was he a sailor, philosopher, scientist, engineer, nor any of the numerous other positions that the tall nearly bald older man could've been; rather Vitulus was something entirely different, he was a politician of the Roman sort; a member of the Senatorial Class; a Patrician in a word.

Around him rose a contraption of metal and gears, whining and twirling away; the massive stellar battleship was older than most in service with exception given to the Visigoths in Hispania; ringed on its expansive sides by ships of smaller stature; the great ship was the flagship of the Roman Navy, a pisspoor excuse for an interstellar force that only existed due to the kindness of the Czar of Russia.

In the shadow of the Romans sat a small orbish thing that was not perfect, it was not uniform; they could see from so far above it the way its face cracked; how waters rushed over its masses, how the sphere was as diverse as their own once was. The continental shelves fluxed and it was...beautiful; far more beautiful than the shattered dying visage that was Terra; where they were born before all others...Suddenly they couldn't wait to leave it.

"Nova Roma." Vitulus said before the admiral next to him could speak; the Senator adjusted the traditionalist white toga that was draped with the purple sash of the senatorial class; suddenly uncomfortable in himself as he looked down at the magnificent unspoiled jewel of a planet that had yet to be touched by the foulness of human hands. "Another new beginning for Imperium Romanum..."

"Significant lack of Turks..." The Admiral next to him chuckled darkly as the Senator nodded in agreement. "Thank Christ."

"No, Thank Isabella." Vitulus said as he looked out and down not to the planet but to the utterly massive Romano-Spanish colony ship financed in totality by Her Imperial Majesty of Spain, much to the pride of Caesar...
