Steam/Diesel/Biopunk war anyone? (OOC, SIGN UP, OPEN)

I have a thought that just occurred me. I remember back when the european powers before WW1 divided Africa to bits, well in this case maybe they divided China or russia in some secretive meeting.

The Scramble for Africa or in this case the Scramble for Eurasia?
Sounds like a solid plan! So would it be a colony war or a resource war?

I was kinda' hoping we wouldn't go to RL maps, but we have and Germany has been taken. I'm not really sure where to make my claim now :/ I could change some details and go for Britain perhaps?

To be more accurate, colonies are more about prestige and geopolitics, as most colonies turned out to be money sink, and many of them retained just for its strategic location. However, I get your point. Though, If China is the same as IRL, I think we would have to dismantle the relatively strong central government before we can carve it. The large population with relatively advanced technology also means that indirect control through commerce is better than African style landgrab.

I think other than that, we can add that the emergence of our punk technologies wreck the balance of the ancient regimes, letting us to take advantage and reshape the borders, creating even more tension in the process.

I think I have a way for the Chinese to be manipulated. Maybe a Mongol Khanate survived terrorizing china to a point. However never taking advantage enough to go past Northern China. China itself throughout the empire was riddled with rebellions from peasantry and the Forbidden city was very out of touch with its nobles.

Seems good enough. Though, in order to further wreck China, maybe one of our countries (I volunteer my own to do so ) decided to assist and trigger a rebellion around the Yangtze river and Southern China, thus cutting off the copper supplies of China (Southwestern China). Due to the double standard economy China used, a few years would be able to completely wreck the economy and administration of China. Then, after some foreign intervention, we should be able to carve China into either direct or indirect control using those rebels.

I base my suggestion more on the Taiping rebellion, since it is probably the most destructive civil war in China ever. Also, the Empress lived for 8 more years before dying.

Maybe we can incite some rebellion based on radical republicanism from my country and make it a more powerful Taiping rebellion? Biopunk need fewer infrastructure to work, after all...

That could work and Dragonia could get chinese nobles to sign over allegiance to the Emperor {Dragonia} and serve as puppet rulers in exchange for supplying men for the military.

Yes, this is perfect for my new fledgling nation! The Constanians have compulsory military service, which helps keep our Royal Cavalt Officers, Royal Artillery Service, Royal Sky Navy, Royal Sea Navy, Royal Armour Service, Royal Marines and Royal Home Guard Commandos at a good size. But we're still pretty small at only 6 or 7 million people. is it too late to join up for this?

We would probably need more allies to make a stalemate long enough to cripple China bad enough. While Aurelia has some good biopunk that require lower maintenance, flesh is still no use against steel, so we would need more numbers to do that. Though, I can imagine after the war, many parts of China would be covered in the creep or similar biological structures.

Can't say I have. Though, an advantage of biological weapon is that we don't need coal mines, steel mills, and factories to put them together, and we don't need oil and spare parts to maintain them. Once we seeded the populous land of China, we should be able to convert many of the biomass into mass-produced abominations to human wave your machines.

Damn, I sound more and more like one of those FT planet eaters. I have a bad feeling of being cornered.
