Chaff pods on all of the escorts were dropped to confuse the missiles, even so, a couple missiles caught the wings of one of the F-4s. Its pilot did his best to direct his fighter towards the AA battery before ejecting. Valance carried on towards her objective, The fighter jet around her shook from the speed. her fingers hovering over the release for the bomb, which was set to explode above the ground at about 100 meters.

These people... these creatures will taste my wrath, the righteous wrath of any free nation against a slaver state.

She said, flying out, surveying the land beneath her for a sizable population center away from New Lesic. Less than an hour later, she found her answer. (max speed is mach 2.23, 2.2 is approx 1600mph so within 400-800 miles of New Lesic pick the location to go. effective radius estimated to be 1 mile.)

" Did you forget me so quickly? My promise hasn't changed you sick bastards. I promised you such gory wonders, and here they are. I'm only sorry that I couldn't make sure your entire country was done over with these. For the Republic!" She keyed her comm, broadcasting on all frequencies, now that she was out of the range of the interference.

With her free hand she released the bomb which was slung under her F-4. Sealing her fate, the fate of her escorts, and those in the city beneath her.

From the desk of: Alexander Kirillovich Kazansky, Emperor of Greater Prussia, President of Allanea
To: Princess Luna

My dear cousin!

As you know, most of Allanea's armed forces are engaged, together with our erstwhile allies, fighting the Pudites. It is thus impossible for me to give this matter the attention it so richly deserves. That said, I believe it is possible for us to deal the slaver a few blows - mostly as a gentle reminder that they are not alone in this universe, and that Allanea still exists.

Encrypted message to the Martilian Forces

Dear comrades!

It appears you are fighting against New Lesic.

What is your objective in this conflict? Would it be possible for us to engage the New Lesicans with strategic air strikes using Corona Bombers and cruise missiles?

You will no doubt rejoice in knowing that Corona Bombers are being launched as we speak. Please avoid engaging them with your AA fire.

Bandera, the capital city and population centre for the entire Soviet, had come under attack. Their AA defence system automatically kicked in, firing off projectiles and flak. It was to no avail. The bombs fell, their payload detonating prematurely and high above the lively city. A bright flash and then all consuming mushrooms dotted the vast urban landscape, setting fires through ninety-one percent of it. Eight million people had been going threw out their regular Wednesday and then suddenly loud sirens and a deafening boom.

One million peoples near the blast radius evaporated instantly. Seconds later the heat and outward tight compressed air killed four million more peoples. The ensuing fires killed the last. Radiation and a completely black hue took the area. Millions more were expected to die, as the cloud was shifting towards the ocean, Guata. The entire red nation became unified after the attack, fear lead to destroyed cities and the creation of hidden towns. The military had been destroyed, but luckily their free armour was out in the field and escaped much of the nuke.

The soldiers started collecting women and girls from the town that they could and took advantage of them. Men were often killed, unless a more penurious officer decided to enslave them as well. The vanguard units advanced slowly, compensated for the increased risks by having the first dips on all women and girls. The artillery stayed silent so as to not damage assets, the commanders were becoming lethargic.

Battle of New Lesic - Early Phase

Postby Martilia » Thu Mar 01, 2012 4:19 am

Less than 50 miles off the coast of Asbekistan
Expeditionary Task Force - Asbekistan
10th Soviet Fleet - SMS Tatrain, Uzunaga-class Command Ship
Central Operations Room

Grand Field Marshal Edilberto Salonga and his other commanders are watching the live feed from a UAV flying above the small Hobbiest ships that departed from the New Lesic harbor. Besides from the live feed, a direct communication has also been established within the room and to the commanders at the ground, assigned lead pilots of air groups (and this include the lead pilot of Alpha-Foxtrot, the ones that are flying above the small Hobbiest ships), and other important personnel that Salonga and his other commanders should contact if ever there are additional orders back from the Capitol or from himself. "Alpha-Foxtrot One this is Baseplate-One, do you copy?", the communications officer asked.

"Baseplate-One, I copy you, over", the lead pilot replied. The communications officer began to look at Salonga for the next message transmission. Salonga looked at him and said, "Ask them what is the situation in there.". The communications officer asked the lead pilot and replied, "Baseplate-One, everything is fine in here. It seems these ships are not a threat to our fleet."

"Are you sure, Alpha-Foxtrot One? How many ships are within that fleet, over"

"About forty to fifty ships, and Yes, we are sure these ships are not a threat. We see some civilians when we made a low fly-by, over"

"10-4, Alpha-Foxtrot One. You are ordered to remain in the area and recon them as to where they are going, Baseplate-One out.". With one threat removed, Salonga could now focus directly over the invasion. The opening attacks have began as he could see in a live feed from the UAV flying above the shores of New Lesic.

Shores of New Lesic
Battle of New Lesic - P-Hour 0
333rd Infantry Division

As soon as the Oscar-Foxtrot (Offensive Force) reached the shores they began engaging identified enemy vehicles, although strafing runs has been prohibited in order to prevent civilian casualties. As they continue making targets, the AWACs notified them of several aircraft leaving from the nearby harbor of New Lesic and ten aircrafts approaching the shore. The entire squadron quickly divided themselves into two groups. Fifteen aircrafts of Oscar-Foxtrot intercept the incoming enemy aircraft while another ten headed towards the leaving helicopters in the nearby harbor. Out of the original two-hundred and thirty-five aircraft, only thirty-five remained in the shore to assist the incoming Soviet Martilian forces while the remaining one hundred seventy-five went into the city to begin clearing them of AA guns, and other threats that could peril the incoming Soviet Martilian helicopters that will land troops over the buildings in New Lesic.

As soon as the vehicle threats were removed, ten hovercrafts, fifteen LAVs, and eight helicopters land at the shore. Each of them began to disembark troops, tanks, and other armored units and began engaging the Hobbiest troops. Captain Mariano Amorsolo, the commanding officer of a platoon in the 333rd, began yelling to his troops, "Move! Move! Move! We need to push inland.". Tanks began to swing their turrets and engage other hostile tanks in the shore. Above them is the UAV, wherein Salonga and his forces could watch their forces go ashore and watch the war real-time.

Less than eighty miles off the coast of New Lesic
SMS Arujuana - Dilis-class Missile Submarine

Meanwhile, the lone Hobbiest ship approaching towards New Lesic was then spotted by SMS Arujuana. Captain Aquino, the commander of SMS Arujuana, ordered the submarine to get in periscope depth. Once in periscope depth, the submarine's periscope was deployed and they began observing the lone ship from afar, roughly five kilometers. It could be seen that the ship is unarmed, although the naval jack and the flag of the Hobbiest Republic could be seen flying at a post in the ship. Not knowing the nature of the ship, Captain Aquino decided not to engage the ship and reported their position to SMS Uzunaga. Salonga's Commander of the Navy received the report from Captain Aquino, who is asking for their next orders. He replied:

Asbekistan gives northern New Lesic to Tropen and southern New Lesic to Martilia. They invite the leader of both countries to a conference in New Lesic.

At the north end of the city a couple soldiers walked in towards the city center.
" so what's Operation Status Dark again?"
" We all form up around the center of the city, hold them up as long as possible. There's no retreat but inwards towards those mad men in the center. Communications are down, so we'll have to use our best judgement regarding it."

There was a suspicious absence of anti air fire, the wall having been abandoned and the 40mm AA guns on it having been disabled earlier in the battle. A few disorganized MANPADs fired at the fighters that swept the city overhead. At the docks, the lone remaining Lyran Tank fired at the tanks coming ashore from behind barricades, a stationary fortified position, which was quickly overwhelmed. In the crowd of soldiers, a Captain stood, shouting to his troops " We fight for millions of men women and children, victims of a system that forces men to torture. Don't let these machine men take your life without you taking theirs. You the people have the power. You have the power to make this life free and beautiful. You have the power to make this life a great adventure." He would've gone on, but he was shot several times by the landing Martilians as he fired at them while speaking.

When the Martilian soldiers landed they were faced not only with the smattering of soldiers, but also plain clothes civilians aiming down their sights at them. Several who couldn't be older than 13 or 14 could be seen amongst those facing the Martilians. When the tanks took the beaches. A smattering of sporadic RPGs fired at the tanks. Resistance melted away from the docks . Operating as they were units picked their own time to withdraw into the city. They left behind people they'd been protecting. People wired up with explosives and triggers, people with grenades. People living and dead. The arms were picked up so that those deeper within would have a better fighting chance as the fighting goes on. (2,500 (Killed) 14 failed self destruction(s))

Inside of several of the buildings were hastily organized platoons of civilians armed with bats, knives, and a variety of cudgels, they waited to descend upon the invading soldiers or surprise soldiers landing on the roofs, hoping to take down even one before being killed.

One of the F15L pilots, Captain Janis Bolovich broke off, from the other 9 fighters, heading out to sea keeping low to the waves and moving as fast as she could at sea level, they'd made sure that her fighter had no missiles on the hard points to weigh it down. Somewhere out there High Pope Catherine would be waiting for the update from New Lesic. With communications down, and their inability to assure AC Jeeves that they'd be capable of taking out the comm block it was her job to play messenger. "I know you volunteered for this posting after the Office of Defense reclassified New Lesic as a low threat post. So this is my way of getting you and your fighter away before things completely deteriorate." She remembered the Acting Commander telling her before she lifted off. " I just hope they follow the if it's low let it go approach." She said to herself quietly.

The remaining nine engaged the AWACs and I-101's in the air or tried to fire their flares, release chaff or launch missiles. They expended everything they had in an effort to bring down the AWACs blocking the communications overlay, despite not having the training they even launched themselves wholeheartedly into the ships they fought, sacrificing themselves so that those in the city might know the comfort and sound of the Republic through the streets once more before they died.

The helicopters had been hastily stripped of their gunship modifications to increase their cargo carrying capacity. Even so they could not obtain a very high altitude, flying out at about 500m. " How long until we're out of the jamming range?" the pilot asked.

" Just a few more minutes, then we'll be able to transmit and see if there's any ships out there." The co-pilot said, looking over a map.

The Flotilla and Transport move closer to each other. (OOC: Martilia, I'll let you decide when they meet up, you seem to have a better idea of movement over the ocean than I do. also TG me if you find inconsistencies, there's a lot to track. I didn't get to fit in as much dialog as I would've liked. I was also wondering what the Asbekistani are thinking, inviting the leaders of the countries to a still contested territory like New Lesic, admittedly they accepted the ceasefire, but it's not as though the Hobbiests have been able to get out, or that the Martilians have stopped fighting them. :S)

The Corona strategic bombers were now entering pre-battle formation. It was like a spearhead made up of steel, speeding through the air. Aboard it, missiles were being armed, last safeties were being taken off. In a few minutes, the missiles would be away. But yet the message had first to be relayed.

We have received messages that New Lesic has surrendered, and will be divided between Communist powers, is this actually the case? Colonel Stephenson, 3rd Corona Regiment, signing out.

From: High Pope Catherine
Subject: Suicide Symphony

Summary: Before we lost contact with New Lesic, and upon Martilia's rejection of the ceasefire and surrender, it was the Acting Commander's intention to get as many civilians out as possible before the sea was cut off. As of today I think about 50,000 Hobbiest Republic citizens are trapped within New Lesic, unable to escape. The offer of Surrender was an exceptionally weak gesture on the part of AC Jeeves in an effort to preserve life. He'd been placed in command after the Cardinal I placed in command withdrew from her position due to... genocidal tendencies. There are contingencies they put in place and it seems that the worst case scenario is happening. If Martilia has air dominance I gravely suspect she is already dead. They're survivors Allanea, all the survivors we could save from the Soviets, the last to leave would be those less afraid to die. They've already lost so much. The slavers have taken their families and loved ones. If we cannot convince them to stop, it may be better to put them from their misery. I am sorry that I cannot personally relieve them from their suffering.

Hobbiest Republic News Outlet
March 1st 18:30

"Tonight we finally have a spot on the war in Asbekistan, now mind you the images you're about to see are both graphic and horrifying in nature. sorry that the execs decided to put this at everyone's dinner time, but they thought it to be most important." Newscaster 1.

The video cuts to the clips recorded from when the Republic first landed at Old Lesic, the streets red with blood, profanities scrawled in blood and gore, and dead bodies everywhere.

" That was what we arrived to, according to the Asbekistan Census online, prior to the Anarchist uprising nearly 700,000 people lived in Lesic, when we arrived there were only about 7,000 survivors. Using Lesic as a base point for the terror index the Republic decided to send another fleet early on in the war to secure another port. Saint John Harbour. This city was less ravaged by the Anarchists, but a different kind of question was raised."

Cut to video of SJH, the HRAF moving in with the armored car, buildings completely devoid of civilians, only a smattering of anarchists, and all of them coming from deeper within the city.

" We had to ask ourselves, what happened to these people? Survivors from Lesic said that not all 693,000 were murdered, but that a large number of youths and able bodied people were carted off as slaves to some unknown destination. Given the brutality in Lesic and the absence of people in SJH, we can only surmise that similar things happened throughout what eventually became Soviet Asbekistan." Newscaster 2 declared.

" For some time, columnists wondered why we were propping up a self-declared dictatorship posing as a monarchy. It turns out that 'Prince' Santos was once Mayor of the town of Guata, a small coastal city which fended off the Anarchists and slavers throughout the war. Santos came to an agreement with the 'soviets'. In reality they are a Slaver Alliance using communism, anarchy and socialism as a cover for their depravities. Upon the declaration of a ceasefire, the Republic ceased its advance and withdrew from Saint John Harbour. Since we'd not yet been accepted into the Coalition, we were forced to accept New Lesic as a haven for refugees from these 'Soviets', rather than as a base from which to continue our great crusade." Newscaster 1 said.

" This ends the report on the first part of the Asbekistani Genocide and Enslavement. Please join us in one weeks time for an update on the situation."

The soviets continued rampaging through-out the city, much of the soldiers and formed into mobs of men whom roved for women and if they stumbled across males they'd murder them in the street. With the nuking of Bandera the attitude towards the Hobo and Lesser Asbek was ethnic genocide, even among the regular population of the collective which were just happy to finally receive some stability.

---

Two delegates head to New Lesic, the formation of some forty thousand veterans surrounded the city and moved in. They processed the people they ran into, holding the Hobos to be returned home, they took females, of both nationalities, away secretly into hidden rooms. The non-Hobo males were often shot on the spot were shifted back to be enslaved.

Colonel Stephenson read the missives in disbelief. He knew that this could mean only one thing: war with Asbekistan. There was no need for Congress to approve this. Asbekistan was a slaver state. By that fact alone, Asbekistan and Allanea were already at war – and Asbekistan was now 3000 kilometers away.

“Enter the new coordinates.” - he uttered.”

It took far too painfully long to enter the new coordinates – the atomic-powered planes were only 2500 kilometers away from the target by the time they could fire. THe planes themselves were still out of reach of any AA – but of course there was still the risk of Martilians or Asbekistani shooting down some of the missiles.

Between them, they could launch about 250 cruise missiles. They were aimed at the ruins of Bandera, carrying hundreds of submunitions each. No doubt some would be shot down – but the Allanean goal was simple:

The slaver had to receive his gentle reminder. The Asbekistans could not be allowed to forget that Allanea existed.

New Lesic
Battle of New Lesic
Oscar Foxtrot Alpha - Intercepting Squadron

The fifteen I-101s streak towards the detected planes, but not as what they thought. As soon as they reached near inland, several missiles flickered on their radars targeting their planes. Although it is not as many, still it is considered as a danger to the I-101s. The MANPADs are not covered by the AWACS' jamming system. The fifteen I-101s started to break their formation and shake the missiles chasing them. They launched chaffs, flares and other decoys to prevent the missiles, but two of them took a hit and crashed in the middle of the city. Captain Eduardo Darkov survived the MANPAD attack. He quickly recalled his squadron to get back into formation and proceed with their interception.

As soon as they reached the enemy fighters, one of them broke away from the formation. Captain Darkov ordered his wingman Lieutenant Johanna Severino to take command of the squadron, "Alpha-Two, take command of the Oscar-Foxtrot-Alpha. I'll be chasing this bogey.", referring to Captain Janis Bolovich's F-16L. It was soon that they found out that the target of the enemy aircraft is the AWACs who are assisting the Martilians in the battle. The remaining twelve fighters attempt to intercept the enemy air attack on the AWACs, even the AWACs itself start deploying chaffs as enemy air missiles started to lock on to it. Unfortunately, the AWACS was hit on the right wing, disabling the aircraft's electronic systems including its jamming system.

Lieutenant Severino was in shocked and began shouting over the comms, "Big Bird One is down! I repeat Big Bird One is down! Notify all of our forces that our jamming system has been disabled!!". This message was relayed from air to ground to sea very fast. As soon as the news reached the SMS Tatrain, a new AWACS has been prepared, but it will take 30 minutes before it will be fully deployed to the battlefield. Meanwhile, the remaining one hundred and seventy-five try to clear the city streets with enemy vehicular threats such as tanks and armored vehicle, but enemy MANPADs began firing over them and out of 175 aircraft, they lost 17 of them.

A kilometer inland from the shore of New Lesic
Battle of New Lesic - P-Hour +2
333rd Infantry Division

As the Offensive Force B attempts to clear inside the city with enemy threats, the 333rd Infantry Division began to move inland. After almost two hours of fighting at the beach from enemy soldiers, civilian resistance, civilian suicide bombers, they managed to move almost a kilometer inland and began clearing the streets of enemy forces. Meanwhile, back at the beach, Major General Arturo Gregory landed and a makeshift battlefield headquarters were made. Major General Gregory began requesting for reports from the battlefield. Everything was good at first, until it reached to the point where there was a statement regarding civilian suicide bombers.

Major General Gregory called for Captain Mariano Amorsolo, who was in the HQ during that time. It was in his report that several civilians are armed with bombs and blowing themselves up in his troops. "Captain Amorosolo, nice meeting you.", Gregory shook hands with Amorosolo. They both went inside Gregory's office in the makeshift HQ and began talking about Amorosolo's report.

"Captain, I'll be talking directly to the point. I have received your report from the early engagement at the beachhead and you mentioned in here about civilian suicide bombers. Is that true?", Gregory asked Amorosolo.

Amorosolo replied, "Yes, sir. It is true. Technically, out of the total 1,624 casualties that we had, almost 700 to 800 of them are from those suicide bombers.". Gregory was seemed surprise about the tactic. He continued to ask Amorosolo for questions, "They're moves are radical. Do you think this is a direct order from the Hobbiest government or their own will, Captain?"

"Sir, based on the battle that occurred earlier and until now. It seems both. I think the Hobbiest might be supporting the decisions of their civilians in doing the suicide missions. It might--", but before Amorosolo could complete his statement, an officer rushed into the room and yelled, "Major General, we got a problem.". Gregory looked at him furiously and asked, "What is it?".

"Sir, we got a report that suicide bombers are fighting against us in the city.", Gregory both looked at the officer and Amorosolo. When it is entirely realized that the entire civilian population in New Lesic are now fighting against their soldiers, Gregory is now confused whether or not the civilians could still be trusted or should be engaged as a threat to the Martilian forces, and it is what is currently happening at the frontlines. Several soldiers began engaging the enemy civilians who are attempting to do suicide missions on them. Although the orders are strictly not to shoot at the civilians, the soldiers does not have a choice since these civilians are considered a threat to them.

New Lesic Harbor

The other thirty-five I-101s went to the New Lesic Harbor. As soon as they reached the departing helicopters, they quickly started to fly around them, but they remain in not engaging them due to the chances that those helicopters might be evacuation of civilians.

Meanwhile, in New Lesic, the fight was going poorly.
Even with people swarming to the second and third lines of defense, the Air Force Base and city was falling. Throughout the battle people were shouting, mostly battlecries to motivate themselves, and instructions for movements.
" For the Republic!"
" You Killed Mommy!"
" Death before Slavery!"
" For mother/father/him/her!"
" Let us fight to free the world, to do away with Slavery, Hate, and Intolerance."
" Let the adults sort this one out."(Usually an adult or Legionaire to child soldier)
" Let us fight for a world of reason."
" We survived the massacres before, no reason not to do so again."(Lesic survivor or refugee from Asbekistan)
" This ones fer my mum."
" Not one step closer to my patients!"(Medical personnel)
" You'd take from me my freedom, so I'll take your life."
" Remember now, soak each inch that's taken with their blood!"
" In memoriam."
"Alis volat propriis"(latin for: She flies with her own wings)
" Dum spiro spero"(latin for: While I breathe, I hope)

(Suicide bombers/grenadiers)
" Do not despair the misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear progress."
" So long as men die, Liberty never shall."
" They told us that you were coming, I have a present for you... Slaver Scum."
" You enslaved my family and took my children, but you won't get me!"
" I've got just the present for you murderers."
" You expect me to welcome you? Give you a hug? After what you stand for? -pulls the pin on a grenade-"
"You shall not desecrate the dead, like your kind are wont to do"(recording placed on bomb trapped dead bodies)

Jeeves had been desperately trying to see if the communications were back up, using a radio as a sounding board. he was pleased when the message began transmitting.
" Soldiers and Citizens of New Lesic, if you are hearing this, then the Hobbiest Air Wing stationed here has succeeded in their mission. They have restored communication to the city. It is my sad duty to inform you that earlier while communications were down, Cardinal Valance and the Tom pilots betrayed the trust I had in them, launching an unauthorized nuclear strike at the heart of the Slaver state. I do not know for how long communications will stay up, so for now I give you music to ease your final hours on this earth. I only wish that things hadn't gone so poorly." The automated transmission ended, segwaying to the playlist he'd compiled from the anthems and themes popular in the Republic. Over the music Acting Commander Jeeves said something else as well. " Should I not make it to the end of this battle, I ask you only to remember the words of our late High Pope, Horn. He who seeks to violate your self-determination, deserves none of his own."

With that he left the communications building to join in the defense of the airfield, picking up the 1911 he'd been given upon his promotion to this office on the way out of the room.

Janis received a small blinking warning light showing that she was being followed by an air craft which wasn't registered as a friend. Her maneuvering options were limited, she began to pitch and turn, making her path more sinusoidal. She considered launching some of the flares, but nothing had been fired yet, nor was there a lock, through the headset a signal began coming through unencrypted, on the back station 89.9FM, it was the Acting Commander. " Praise the High Pope, they did it." She said silently before keying her own radio, hoping that the fleet was out there.

" This is Captain Janis Bolovich to any Hobbiest Naval Forces, please respond. I repeat This is Captain Janis Bolovich, 3rd Hobbiest Air Squadron assigned to New Lesic, Cardinal Valance is dead, the city is falling, the citadel is gone... Please anyone! They'll be massacred without help!"

Meanwhile near Guata: General Valkyrie, and his command were engaging the disorganized Asbekistani's, ambushing and killing slavers, killing soldiers and looting the living daylights out of them. When the Guerrillas finished a raid they left naked corpses in their wake, although soon those too may disappear during raids.

" I have to clothe and feed 200,000 people. On the run no less. How am I supposed to manage that?!" He fumed, mostly to himself.

Without a place to call their own, they were slowly eating the countryside into a wasteland. There were hundreds of raids carried out, with between 50-100 men participating each time. but it wasn't enough.

Kasvenogorod, Soviet Martilia
Soviet Capitol - Bulwagan ng Bayan (People's Hall)

As the war drags on, Kalev Garcia continues to tend to both domestic policies and situation over the war. He hopes that within two to four months, their boys would go back to their fatherland and be reunited with their families. He does not want to drag the country in a long war as it might cause war weariness over the population. In preparation for that, Kalev Garcia called for a meeting with his advisors, commissariats and General Staff at the People's Hall in the capitol. He wants to make sure that everything is in place as to when exactly will the troops go home and what will happen to the territories in Hobbiest Republic and Asbekistan. Inside the hall is a very long and wide wooden table made from the finest woodcraft industry in the country, and almost forty chairs are in place at the side of the table. The advisors, commissariats, and General Staff of Garcia entered the room and went to their respective chairs and waited for him before they all sat down at the same time.

The meeting began with the discussion of when will the troops will go home since they foresee that the war will end sooner, as what they are expecting, due to the formal announcement of the newly formed Republic of Asbekistan for the division of New Lesic, even though there are still Hobbiest forces within the city. As they begin to wrap up their first subject matter, a man from the Soviet Intelligence Agency came into the hall and giving Garcia a thick brown envelope. He looked at the man and asked, "What is this?".

The man replied, "General, its an intelligence report about the activities of the Asbekistan communist before and during the war.". Garcia looked at him irritatingly saying, "Isn't supposed to be in my office?".

The man came close to Garcia, "I believe that you should read it right now, sir.". Garcia looked at the man again for a few seconds before focusing back on the brown envelope. He untied the rope around and opened it. He pulled out the papers and pictures inside of it, and began reading through the report. As he continues to read the report page by page and scan the pictures, he starts to shaken up as to what the report says. According to the report, the Asbekistan communists has been operating slavery since before the war had began and it continues until today. They are also collecting women as slaves and killing most of the able men that they encounter during the war, besides from that the Asbekistan communists are also suspected to have committed additional war crimes including genocide against the Hobbiest Republic and Lesser Asbekistan. With regards to the information that has been disseminated about the slavery of Hobbiest Republic and Lesser Asbekistan, it is all falsified and suspected Asbekistan communists have made up the story about it. It is rather vice-versa, wherein the Hobbiest Republic citizens become slaves instead of them being the slavers.

The report was a shock to Kalev Garcia as he justified allying with the Asbekistan communists due to the earlier report that the Hobbiest Republic and Lesser Asbekistan are collecting people as slaves. Garcia became furious about the report, he stood up the hall and yelled, "Attention!". The people inside the room was startled and looked at him, he continued and said, "As of this moment, we are formally withdrawing our support from the Republic of Asbekistan and Tropicarno!". They are in pure shock, declaring the withdrawal of support from Republic of Asbekistan and Tropicarno without any reason could possibly lead into a foreign crisis between them and Soviet Martilia.

Suddenly, one of his military advisors stood up and asked, "But, why General?". Garcia looked at him and said, "It is because we are formally allying with the Hobbiest Republic and Lesser Asbekistan.". Again, the people inside could not believe the decisions of Garcia himself. When they asked him why are they changing sides, Garcia just replied to them, "You'll know it later. For now, I want my secretary to photocopy this report and disseminate it to the General Staff. I want you to notify our forces that we are now against the Republic of Asbekistan, but not with Tropicarno. Also, I want the Foreign Commissariat to notify all nations involved in the war about the change of allegiance, that's all.". Garcia quickly left the hall furiously and went back to his office to calm himself down.

New Lesic, Hobbiest Republic
Battle of New Lesic - P-Hour +5
Almost five kilometers inland from the shore

The 333rd Infantry Division with the support from the 11th Armored Division continues to move inland and desperately trying to clear the urban area from sprawling enemy forces and suicide bombers. Captain Basilio Koslov and his platoon is currently part of the 333rd. He did not expect that this battle will be a desperate battle for Hobbiests. "Shit! Suicide Bombers!", he yelled. He and his men suddenly began firing on the incoming suicide civilians. It seems that there is an endless wave of civilians coming towards them and it is getting on the morale of the soldiers. A soldier ran towards Koslov and he looked at the soldier and asked, "Where the hell did you come from?".

The soldier replied, "Sir, I just got a report that our troops cannot land above the buildings as they are being attack by a mob of armed civilians. They need our help, sir.". Koslov asked, "Alright, what building is it?". The soldier pointed a tall white building almost 100 meters behind from the attacking suicide bombers. Koslov did even think a second and grabbed several men and ran towards the building. As soon as they reached the entrance, they lined up infront and breached the door. They began shooting attacking armed civilians inside, but it was a chaos. Everywhere they look civilians armed with from a kitchen knife up to a rifle attack them from different directions. Koslov know that it will be hard for them before they reach the rooftop of the building.

This is also the same for other helicopters around the city, having a hard time to land and unload their troops with a threat of armed civilians rushing towards them, as if they are mindless zombies. Although every civilian that comes is a free for all fest for each Martilian soldier as they attack each and every one of them as long as they are considered a threat. The yelling of different unarmed civilians that Martilians are slavers is being questioned by the soldiers and frontline commanders. The soldiers try to make the civilians calm them down and ensure them that they are not slavers, but rather liberators from their oppressors.

Meanwhile, another AWACS was again in position at the shores of New Lesic and have began jamming operations against the Hobbiests radio signals, and also assisting both the ground and the air forces in the region.

New Lesic airspace

Captain Eduardo Darkov chased the enemy F-16L in the New Lesic airspace. He knows that the pilot is an experienced one, based on the acrobatic moves that it is using in an attempt to shake him off. They continued chasing one another in the air, Darkov saw some flares and chaffs came out even though there is no lock on the enemy aircraft. As soon as he got on a good position, the targets locked on the plane, and two AA missiles swing in the air towards the enemy aircraft. He murmured to himself, "Paalam!", it means Goodbye in Filipino, hoping that the missiles will hit the enemy plane into smithereens.

Grand Field Marshal Edilberto Salonga and his other commanders are still watching the situation on the battlefield. New and fresh updates could be received by him every minutes instead of almost half an hour without the use of UAVs. The report of suicide bomber civilians have also reached to Salonga, and have began questioning his own decision that civilians should be spared, but from what is happening right now as if the civilians have lost their mind and began fighting against them. Whether or not this was an order from their leader or not is being questioned by Salonga himself. Although, everything will be changed as the new orders from the Soviet Capitol reached them. Salonga was at his temporary office in the COR when he received the new orders. A man came inside his office giving him a brown folder, "What is this?", he asked.

"Sir, new orders from the Capitol.", the man answered. Salonga take a deep breath and murmured to himself, "This is better be good.". Salonga opened the folder and began reading the entire report. At first, he was astounded with the order that they will be supporting the Hobbiest Republic and their allies from here on and war is now declared against the Republic of Tropicarno and even doubted if it came really from the Capitol or a decoy, but when it was confirmed that it is from the Capitol there is a realization for him that they are fighting at the wrong side, and the orders from the Capitol are genuine. Without hesitation Salonga called his commanders and asked them to notify all forces within the region about the new order. He hopes that the Hobbiest have also received the report to prevent friendly fire once the new order has been disseminated.

Less than seventy miles off the coast of New Lesic

It was soon noticed that the lone Hobbiest ship is heading towards the small Hobbiest ships that left from the harbor of New Lesic and vice-versa. The five I-101s began to spot the lone Hobbiest ship and SMS Arujuana began to notice small ships appearing on the horizon. As soon as the I-101s and SMS Arujuana got on communications range, they began exchanging communications and notifying that do not engage the ship at all costs. The I-101s and SMS Arujuana both notified the command about the situation, and the command just told them to watch what will unfold until further orders. Both SMS Arujuana and the I-101s continued monitoring the ships as they get near to each other.

Soviet troops began to occupy the more inland part of New Lesic, sweeping the city for slaves and other combatants. On the new declaration of war the AA systems that had previously lied dormant came alive. Sixty SAM missiles shot out into the sky to challenge the invader's air dominance. MANPADs held the roofs and shot at any low flying planes trying to come in under RADAR. When the foreign, Communist, troops came into contact with the front line of soviets. Heavy grenade usage characterised the fighting on the side Asbeks. Three hundred sixteen men died.

One hundred thousand of the troops stationed at Guata were ordered away and sent to New Lesic. The city itself was fortified and former capitalist factories were transferred to produce ammunition. Cordite and phosphorus shipments came in day and night to Guata. Cement would have been imported but because of the massive demand at Bandera and the abundance of materials there was a booming self-sufficient construction industry. Most of the rebuilt Bandera was underground, the above area being a complete wasteland. It takes a fifty mile underground walk to get to the city proper, though a railway is under construction. Guata also imports steel. Guata has become the munitions capital of Greater Asbekistan. Sixty men were lost defending it against the raids. Guata imports cement from Bandera to build defensive works.

(OOC: Catching up on damages from last post)( in New Lesic 4,400 Killed 240 Wounded/Captured by Martilian advance prior to order shift, 1,000 killed by Asbek advance into the northern part of the city, Guatan Region 24 K, 6 W, Survivors remaining in New Lesic ~38,000)

The raiding went on near Guata, and the 25,000 'deserters' began their own guerrilla war, fighting and disrupting the supply lines of the Asbeks in and around New Lesic. (Guatan Region 24 K, 6 W)

To: Martilia
From: High Pope Catherine
Subject: Alliance

Summary: While we appreciate the statement of changed allegiance, and are willing to accept your assistance in bringing down the slaver nation, we request that you permit us to field some of our own men in New Lesic. This would be in order to move and evacuate the remaining survivors. The chain of command may have been significantly disrupted. While we accept your change of allegiance, it stands to reason that, survivors in New Lesic are likely unwilling to trust your soldiers. As such we ask that you clear a passage to the air field so that the evacuation can be carried out for the survivors. I think they've been through enough.

430nm off shore from New Lesic
With that message sent, the Combined Fleets of the Hobbiest Republic began moving towards the distant shores of New Lesic. This was in order to shorten the trips that the VTOLs would have to take to ferry. The ones sent from the Air Force Base had exited the area of effect for the AWACs just before it had been taken down and messaged that they had civilians and were seeking a safe place to land and refuel. The Flag-Carrier Baudly Fore, and the pride of the HNF, the destroyer 'The Cake' led the advancing fleet closer to shore. LY909'Sparrowhawk' fighters were on standby on the carrier, in case something were to go wrong. the older model F15L's were patrolling the skies near the fleet from their respective Assault ships. Already two dozen V-22's had been launched to start landing the replacement troops and pick up the civilians and the battle weary soldiers

To: Acting Commander New Lesic
From: High Pope Catherine
Subject: Relief
Encryption: low
Summary: Acting Commander, should you still live, I am ordering you to gather any and all survivors within New Lesic. Martilia it seems has finally come to its senses. We will be airlifting you and the other survivors out to our fleets, which are closing with the shore as we speak. If you, whom receives this message are not the AC but have sufficient rank in the line of command to order the survivors, carry out this mission from your High Pope. Stand down soldier, your relief is here.

The fighting died down, as the Martilians began receiving their orders of the change. The civilians and soldiers remaining in the city held their ground near the third line of defense, the last one before the center. The tension was palpable, and they'd not yet quite realized what the withdrawal meant, it wasn't until the radios came back on that they knew. Somehow, they'd survived.

" This is Acting Commander Jeeves, Communications have been restored by the Martilian Military. They may have cleared themselves away from a route from the city center to the air field. I am under direct orders from the High Pope to get you out, and home. They claim to have discovered the truth She is sending transports to evacuate all survivors, and two Battalions have been sent to relieve us from our posts. Also here are orders for the S company, Make the 'contingency' mobile, none are to know what almost happened." He said over the radio communications once he'd decoded the message from Catherine. He re-sorted the music selection on the radio to something a little more hopeful.

Janis noted the lock, the enemy fighter having closed the distance effortlessly, before being hit she pitched her fighter up into the sky. She knew that she couldn't escape the missiles, her flares and chaff having since been exhausted. " What a waste." She said, pulling the ejector seat release, which blew out the canopy and threw her into the air over the ocean. From under her flight helmet her hair fluttered down over her shoulders. As the parachute opened and she drifted down towards the sea, She only hoped that someone friendly would find her before she froze to death, or drowned.

As the transport closed with the flotilla, it became a bustling hive of activity, ladders and ramps being brought up from within the hold and extended to the ships, mainly the barges which were used as floating docks for the other small ships and a vital transfer point for the refugees. The 200 crewmen were on the deck, setting up a processing station and warm meals for the people on their way from the boats. Even the captain could be seen bustling about checking on their new passengers and bringing coats and jackets to the cold refugees.

Six fresh batteries of artillery had finally arrived, they were moved up near the barricade but on the inside which was thoroughly secured in New Lesic by soviet forces. The cannons were in range of the port, which had become a target using white phosphorus, fragmentation and HEAT sub-munition deployers. The men now fighting were veterans and the new tide of enemy strength proved both a challenge and invigoration. Heavy fighting again erupted as the left flank surged with six thousand assaults, their assault rifles blasting away at the enemy as smoke grenades obfuscated their advance. Eight hundred fourteen men had fallen all around the town. The one hundred thousand men had almost arrived.

An infantry company commander had watched the parachutist flutter down several hundred meters above. He had his men encircle to pilot's rough estimated landing. When the man dropped a voice yelled out in Castillian, "Surrender!" The eighty some odd fighters were on relieve from the front, having been apart of the frontal wave that took the barricade. He'd likely receive a promotion if he captured him alive.

---

Guata had finally constructed bunkers at intervals of forty meters, each one raised to increase the vigil and the incline steep so one couldn't hide under the angle and toss up a grenade but instead was forced to run into a straighter, and become a large target, assault into the machineguns. Patrols were launched outside of and inside of the city. Casualties mounted to one hundred six. The factories had begun to make grenades, a fresh battalion of assault troopers were made from one experienced infantry battalion.

---

Bandera has established a busway from the outside to the inside, increasing transportation. Fresh units are being pumped out. Fifteen thousand men are being marched to Saint John Harbour to reinforce the city. The soviet committee had planned raise a further eighty thousand troops in the next two weeks. The armour was expected to be pulled out of New Lesic as that battlefield had changed.

New Lesic, Hobbiest Republic
Operation Spoliarium - Battle of New Lesic
P-Hour+8 - Northern Frontlines

After the declaration of war against the Republic of Asbekistan, the entire military operations of the expeditionary force has been changed instantly. The 333rd, who are supposed to be on their final push towards the city center of New Lesic, is now being deployed to the northern frontlines to push back the Asbekistan assault towards New Lesic. With the Asbekistan forces poised to attack and decimate New Lesic two additional divisions, the 146th and the 149th, are now deployed to aid the 333rd and the 11th in defending and attacking the city and the enemy communists, respectively. Besides from that, the four divisions has also been assigned to assist the Hobbiest and Lesser Asbekistan civilians in evacuating the city.

The 333rd arrived at the frontlines and began assisting their Hobbiest allies in defending the Martilian-occupied New Lesic. Captain Basilio Koslov and his platoon is also part of the 333rd who are deployed in the frontlines. The ferocity of the fighting style of Asbekistan is new to the eyes of Soviet Martilian troops, but it is not enough to cause them to demoralize as it is not that worst as to what the Hobbiest civilians did to them before. Koslov is worried about the AA batteries present in the frontlines, luckily one of it is near their position. He called his men to plan an attack on the AA position and open it for close air support to be called. One by one, they stack up on a short building where the AA is positioned. They placed a breaching charge at the door, and it soon exploded. They quickly entered the building and soon gunfire erupted at the entire building. Asbekistan soldiers are heavily dugged into the AA position, and the initial attack costed him 15 soldiers from his platoon. Nevertheless, they continued to fight on towards the AA position.

Since the declaration of war against the Republic of Asbekistan, the former friendly AA weapons and MANPADs began targeting the I-101s who are in deep New Lesic. The planes began to scramble deploying chaffs and countermeasures but still they lost 12 aircraft from the attack. The remaining who survived retreated back to the carriers to refuel and rearm. Meanwhile, with the use of naval bombardment is now authorized, only limited to cruise missiles, the 333rd ordered the bombardment on the Asbekistan positions near the city. 57 cruise missiles were launched and are now heading to bombard the Asbekistan positions in the northern frontlines.

Cruise missiles struck with wild abandon across the front, inflicting minimal casualties to the infantry. Three managed to land direct hits on an artillery piece. Over on the left flank an enemy unit had penetrated the front-line, perhaps unknowingly, and charged a nearby garrisoned building. The four soldiers holding it were immediately overrun, though the building itself had now become a target to close, and thus proportionately more accurate, RPG and small arms fire. Not to mention the grenades tossed in on every level that showed movement. Every exit had at least two riflemen watching it, their AK-47s constantly firing upwards and into the building while their attention waited for the first soldier to try and break-out. A heavy machine gunner is setting up at a building a little taller and adjacent to the occupied one. The artillery piece under fire is taken out of action as the crew is forced to find cover under fire. The one hundred thousand men are close to arrival.

The remainder of the artillery continued firing round after round into the docks, hoping to disrupt fresh units and slowing down the reaction time of any uncommitted reserve units, or better even hitting one. The AA units shuffled in the forest, the tanks still remained on the field though they were hidden and not in combat. The whole of the frontline shifted forward, the assault was led by assault troops whom were equipped with much more explosives than the average soldier. Grenadiers popped off grenade-launcher rounds throughout the battle but immediately before their charge they laid a barrage of smoke grenades to destroy enemy defensive visibility. Machine-gunners set up on hills and other tall positions that were secured and provided additional firepower. RPG soldiers ran threw the corridors of the streets and shot their rockets at 'hard' targets like bunkers, pillboxes and tanks. Eight hundred thirty-two men fell.

Off the Coast of Oregon
UPO Naval Fleet
USS Athena

Holstering the Beretta he had kept by his side for all the years since joining the military, General Joseph Rodriguez turned to glance in the small cabin's mirror one last time. It had been many years since he had worn his military uniform, but he was pleased to find that it still fit perfectly. He had grown up a military brat, his father a Sergeant in the United People's Marine Corp before him. He had decided to follow that path, joining the UPO's Army on his eighteenth birthday. He had quickly been recognized as a solid tactician, and had been promoted to the rank of general by his forty-fourth birthday.

Throughout the years, he had become good friends with President Monk, and had specifically requested to lead the UPO forces into battle in this conflict should their assistance be accepted. Like the President, the tenants the UPO stood for had always struck true with him. With every report that landed on his desk, he knew that accompanying his soldiers was the right decision. Although he had taken a lot of flack for his decision to accompany the carriers rather then sit back in safety with the other generals, the decision felt right.

Turning from the mirror, Joseph left the room and made his way through the cramped hallways of the Aircraft Carrier and onto the deck of the ship. People ran frantically from one place to another, preparing the ship for combat. They new the second they entered the waters near Asbekistan they would need to be prepared for anything.

Noticing the general, a soldier rushed over, carrying several folders. He saluted, then handed Joseph a folder, explaining it contained the latest intelligence reports from the conflict. Flipping through the pages of the report, he was startled by the appearance of a helicopter flying towards the Carrier. Though there were many aircraft's making their way to and from the several Carriers that had congregated around this area, the specific design of the helicopter surprised him. It was the Presidents personal helicopter. Making his way towards the helipad, he arrived just in time to see President Monk jump down from the helicopter. Shaking hands, Joseph's surprise was evident.

"I've decided to accompany you, Joseph. Vice President Henderson can take care of the country while I'm gone. It's been decades since we've been to war, and I think this is where I'm needed."

"Well, i can't say that you'll be unwelcome," Joseph said, "but I can't imagine the politicians are to happy about your decision. Isn't there going to be some fallout regarding this decision when you get back home?"

"Oh, I'm sure they'll be ok without me for a while. This is where I'm going to serve my country best, so this is where I'll be."

Joseph took several moments to briefly describe the latest intel reports as the two made their way to the carrier's bridge. As they entered the command station, a Lieutenant approached them. "Sir, the Athena is prepared to embark. The Brockway, the Damascus, and the Jacksonville are also reporting all ready." Glancing at the president, he continued, "Will you be joining us, Mr. President?" John nodded, and the Lieutenant saluted, "It's good to have you aboard, Sir."

We have now finished marshaling our troops, and will be making our way towards Asbekistan in the next coming days. At this time, we request intel on where our forces may best assist in the struggle against the Asbekistanian threat. I will await your communique. We estimate it will take nearly a week to arrive in the area, but we will push our ships to their limits in order to arrive in as little time as possible.

(OOC: I'll post some numbers on how strong the UPO military is and what it includes a little later)

Inside Guata the former slave-hunting dogs were used to track down any rebel fights inside of the city. When they were located, usually by a distinctive silent pawing on the part of the dog, an engineer platoon was called up and destroyed whatever structure they were inside of. On the off chance an enemy rebel group actually formed a defensive position the new soldiers were tested against them. The outskirts of Guata were being thoroughly mined, the docks now only had a thin 'commercial' corridor to import vital supplies. Camouflaged racks of silkworms and other littoral defensive weapons were being positioned to counter any incoming invasion. Much of the dock mining and anti-naval missile preparations were also being copied by their counterparts at John's Grace, they understood the problems of an amphibious assault first hand. Fifteen thousand men finally arrived at Saint John Harbour. Along with munitions and grenades AK-47 factories had been added to the production mix, plans were already being made for RPG factories. Guns and ammunition shuffled in and out of Guata. Massive thousand-man patrols were sent to sweep the area and attack any usurping forces.

New Lesic, Hobbiest Republic
Battle of New Lesic - P+10 Hours
Martilian-occupied territory

Artillery shells suddenly rain down in the city and in the harbor. The entire reserve units of the expeditionary force suddenly scramble and began taking some cover, while the others try to help the civilians to get out of the bombardment. As soon as the bombardment stopped soldiers began to get back on their normal day-to-day tasks within the city including assisting civilians, dropping of war material for the troops in the frontlines. 543 died and 42 wounded soldiers were reported in the attack, while unknown number of civilians were perished. The reserve units began to fortify the city and fresh mobile AA units are now deployed in preparation for the defense of New Lesic. The situation on the frontlines is getting worse and it seems that little by little the Asbekistan forces are continuing to advance towards New Lesic.

Northern frontlines

Captain Basilio Koslov and his men began engaging the supposed to be AA position, they thought that there are AA guns in the area, but to their dismay there was not. There is an AA but it is destroyed and it was known to be a Hobbiest Republic mobile AA unit, not the Asbekistan. Before they found out about the AA, Koslov lost 12 of his men from the battle inside the building against the Asbekistan communists. One of Koslov's men suddenly approached him and told him about the worsening of the situation on their frontlines, "Captain, the Asbekistan communists are making an advance towards New Lesic.".

"Damn! How long will they be before their main forces could reach here?", Koslov asked his soldier.

"Less than 10 minutes, sir. Apparently the Asbekistan counter-attack have began on other frontlines.", the soldier replied. Koslov asked him again for the orders from the HQ, but the soldier just replied to him that it was to hold their position. Koslov soon realized that the war will be harder than they thought. No artillery, air or naval support is available in their location due still to the restriction of the use of indirect artillery fire and the threat of AA guns in the area. Soon, the first shots began to be heard in the building, they soon see Asbekistan soldiers attacking. Koslov and his men took positions and began exchanging fire. Enemy tanks could also be seen coming in and began firing shells. "Shit! Enemy armor! 9 o'clock!!", one of Koslov's men yelled.

They continued engaging the enemy from all sides swarming on their position. Building after building, street after street, they continue to fall back but keeping the Asbekistan pressured as they continued to push hard on them. They fall back almost 200 meters from their last known frontline until suddenly, a voice burst out on the radio. "This is Mirana, over. We got some fresh 'meat' coming in, over.". Koslov and his men looked at each other and thought about the meat coming in, it was all answered when a Martilian tank suddenly appeared from their behind and began engaging the Asbekistan tanks in the streets. Koslov, his men and other soldiers suddenly gained morale when the 11th Armored Division arrived on the frontlines to help them repel the attack. As over as 200 tanks reinforced the frontlines and soon began engaging both enemy troops and tanks as far as they can see. They soon began marching forward little by little, grinding against the advancing Asbekistan forces.

Less than 50 miles off the coast of Asbekistan
Expeditionary Task Force - Asbekistan
10th Soviet Fleet - SMS Tatrain, Uzunaga-class Command Ship
Central Operations Room

Grand Field Marshal Edilberto Salonga and his other commanders are still watching the live feed from different UAVs that are being sent to the COR, although with limited view. The urban terrain of the city prevent them to see the entire battlefield as the buildings create artificial canyons that block some of the views of the UAV. Salonga has been waiting for the latest intelligence from the battlefield in order to provide the direct coordinates for the second missile bombardment against the Asbekistan positions. A man suddenly came into the room which have the report that he has been waiting for since earlier. The man hand it over directly to him and began to read the report thoroughly. "It seems that the AAs are out of range", Koslov said to himself.

The man suddenly looked at him and replied, "Apparently, sir. But there are a few AAs that we could still strike out to lessen their anti-air capabilities. If you could see it here..", the man began pointing out encircled areas in the photo, "...these AAs are within our striking distance and we could take them ASAP.".

Salonga began to think deeply and continue reading the report. He soon also finds out that the enemy artillery positions are also not within the striking distance, which means that they cannot make any attacks on those artillery positions. He began to be desperate about what to do, but soon he realized that there is still a way. After a few final checking he soon closed the folder, but before he could make the new orders, another folder was presented to him by the same man. It is the new orders from the capitol, especially for the Operation Guidote and Operation Cassidy. After reading it thoroughly, he began giving the new orders including for the 'GO' signal for the two new operations.

6 miles off the coast of New Lesic
SMS Tinidor - Dilis-class Submarine

In order to be able to reach to the artillery positions, there should be a ship that could get near 6 miles from the New Lesic coast, but sending ships there would put them in danger of getting bombarded by enemy artillery or other anti-ship systems if possible. The only thing that could possibly be done is to launch a cruise missile from the bottom of the water which is the job of the SMS Tinidor. As soon as the submarine get into the position, eight cruise missiles were launched to the designated AA and artillery positions given to them from the command ship.

(OOC: I will abandon posting regarding the Hobbiest ship and their sub-small ships since RPly they are alright, lets just say the five I-101s were pulled out including the UAV and the submarine)

Seven AA systems were successfully knocked out, along with four more of the more mobile AAA systems. The communication and detection network remained untouched. From the forests the mechanised troopers were fully supplied and rested, having seen experience in some hard fighting some time ago. The situation was actually difficult, the high command not wanting to lose anymore of its precious elite and proven soldiers, the hundred thousand soldiers from Guata arrived. The fresh and inexperienced troops were sent right to the front lines, the exhausted veterans began trickling back into the forest.

The artillery kept banging away, round after round the area surrounding was littered with trip-hazard large spent casings and powder bags. The noise shattered most of the nearby houses' windows. A defensive group of a thousand men formed around one flank of the artillery that came under fire. The men attacked by tanks fell back, covered by accurate RPG fire. They lost twenty-nine of their men in the chase and withdrawal. The thousand men defending, green, were again reinforced with six thousand infantry. They occupied the buildings, laden with RPG rounds. Whenever the side of a tank appeared they took their shot and not before. Smaller mortars fell on the attacker's positions, the artillery was being transitioned for transport. The cannons were absolutely useless at this close of range. Eight pieces of artillery were blown apart by the cruise missile strike.

The two hundred thousand tanks met with a meat-wall of sixty thousand troops, thoroughly equipped with anti-tank weaponry. Being in the city obscured movement was easy, the adequate supply of Asbek smoke grenades magnified this ability. The tanks would find themselves swarmed, their nearby infantry locked in truculent hand-to-hand or close combat. The retreating soldiers from the front lost twelve hundred in the fighting.

Summary: It would be highly recommended that your forces assault Guata or Saint John Harbour, as we have or can easily obtain information on those cities. Additionally, there are guerrilla fighters present in the Guatan region, making it an easier attack than say, Saint John's. We lost contact with one General Valkyrie of the HRAF. It's assumed that he's in command of the rebellion in former Lesser Asbekistan near Guata.

When the annies started fortifying the city, raids began focusing on hitting the convoys moving in and out of the city of Guata, devising new ways and kinds of ambushes for any patrol leaving the city of Guata. The armor that Prince Santos had given them providing great advantage in ambushing the Asbek military. Some of the more enterprising Lesser Asbek militia men searched the countryside scouting out and searching for the hidden townships that the slavers had moved to after the bombing of their capital. With the stolen uniforms and weapons from the raided Asbeks a small unit was able to move freely, mimicking the form of the annie slavers, in order to find out more about their movements and the settlements in the region.(42 k 24 w)

the 25,000 around New Lesic hid and harassed the Annie troops assaulting the city from the side of the wilderness. The troops were led by a local man named General Jim Bartleby, who'd shown particular aptitude in leading his peers throughout the training process. No HRAF troops above the rank of Lieutenant had deserted from New Lesic. While the Anarchists were fighting the Martilians the Guerrillas also engaged the out of city positions. (1,120 k 120 w)

" What do you think. It seems that the self-destruct device has missed its opportunity this time." Sergeant Winner said watching the foreign troops move past the city center and the Hobbiest procession towards the airfield, relatively unmolested. He watched with his unit from the safety of the the brush. It broke his heart to see even a temporary victory by the slavers, but it was not all bad. A handful of veterans had been discovered in the wilds of Asbekistan, less than a dozen had survived the hellfire of old Lesic, one of them was Helga Marne a former war correspondent who'd disappeared into the outer city to bring the fight to the anarchists so many months ago.

The 2,000 HRAF that had landed at the ruins of the AFB in New Lesic moved under the command of Colonel Heroni Valance, brother of Cardinal Valance. Colonel Valance made contact with a Martilian commander to mesh his troop movements with those of the Martilian front. The evacuation of civilians continued, the airships continually ferrying the wounded and weary from the damaged airfield. 17,000 civilians and decommissioned soldiers awaited airlifting at and around the field Large transports arrived, bringing arms and weapons for use by the HRAF soldiers, and to speed the evacuation. Once the evacuation was completed, a small detachment from the 1st HNF would remain while the rest of the ships returned to the motherland with the High Pope. Cardinal Weinhoff would remain as an attache to Colonel Valance relaying the High Pope's will and instruction from the communication's center.

The Guatan convoys were now manned by a regiment of soviet soldiers, it made the going slow but the heavy artillery gave a stern advantage in the field. The train station line was guarded for miles by social outposts, if one didn't report in every other minute a group would be sent to dispatch. The patrols had been ceased, the casualties amounted to eight hundred six men, it was a meat grinder in the jungle. The red uniforms had been washed black to blend in better.

Colonel Arnold Ashley, twenty-two, put his AK-47 to the side and stared at the sunset. Despite the constant clack of gunfire and artillery he was able to find a simple peace. Sniper fire peppered his position, he rapidly ducked behind the bunker's curb. Firing back return fire a heavy machine-gun tore up the flora around the original shot. The men screamed as several rebel fighters decided to probe this area of the wall. Six RPGs shot towards them, artillery was called in and would soon decimate their position. Seconds later the enemy attack ceases, ten more seconds and the artillery lands, clearing the landscape. Ashley's unit had seven wounded and one killed, Lieutenant Gregory Vance. It was his close friend. He immediately recommend clearing the area, so that the enemy would be unable to harass them any longer.

Operation Vance began, one hundred men under Colonel Ashley's direct command protected twelve flame-wielding soldiers. Being their first mission the situation was tense. At night the group crawled out, the mining pattern known as they had planted them, making the first steps into the forests the dew-soaked leaves did not resonate much sound. Still the entire unit was absolutely silent, the small drickles of water coated their equipment in a mist. The AK-47s' butt began to darken from inundation. They looked out for the rebels.
