OOC: AHEM. I have massive flying battleships, the biggest with armor about 25 feet thick (escorts of the emperor) the command ships leading the invasion have 18 feet thick, these things are monsters, bombs, battleship rounds, etc bounce off like pebbles. OOC: By all means use them NOW! I'd totally forgotten about those. Yeah those would be helpful in taking out the coastal missile bases so we can set up an FOB

Damon Achyls stared out at the ocean, sipping his coffee in a nonchalant manner. Still a Commodore, still abusing his power for unauthorized drinks on the bridge, still commanding officer of the AES Stalwart. Before him was the endless sea, clear skies, and hundreds of thousands of tons of metal. It was the life. Despite his uncouth behavior, he put a lot of effort into his outward appearance: His dress was highly proper, down to the creases in his trousers. The only anomaly was the slight stubble on his chin and the pair of binoculars around his neck- a keepsake from his father. He maintained a love-hate relationship with his crew: they loved his carefree yet simple attitude, but hated his perversion of rules and regulations. An eccentric character indeed. His excellent service record was quite possibly the only thing keeping him in the Arch Knight Naval Fleet.
Commodore Achyls was the CO of Task Group 84, and his vessel, the AES Stalwart, was the Judicator-class Battleship heading it. At the moment, all he was doing was sailing forward, waiting for the 8th Fleet of High Redemption's Grand Admiral- Abrax, was his name- to finish discussing important matters with the higher ups of the other three Fleets: 7th Pious Intent, 9th Blinding Sacrifice, 10th Ardent Phantasmagoria. Occult business as usual... Waiting for orders sucked.
---
"So that's our plan of attack, then."
"Simplistic enough... Assuming we get there uncontested. The odds of us waltzing to their shores without a single naval encounter are slim."
"Always the analytical one, aren't you,"
"It's what got me elected to the Council."
"I'm well aware of your accomplishments, Abrax."
"Good. Then you'll let me take things from here, won't you."
"I don't think we want to waste any more time on this pointless chatter, so by all means."
---
Commodore Achyls sloshed what remained of his coffee in his mug when a beep rang out from the console at his captain's chair. Casually, he strode over to the console and pressed a lit button on the console.
"Attention, all vessels of the Eighth Fleet. This is Grand Admiral Abrax. We have new orders. We are to break off from the main Admiralty and sail with due haste to the shores of the United States, where we are to provide support for allies engaging an enemy fleet. All vessels are to adjust course 28 degrees Northwest. I also require all Task Force commanding officers on the bridge of the Manticore at 1400 hours. All other Arch Knights are to remain faithful, dutiful, and vigilant. Glory to Altair, and may its light be with us!"
The crew, Achyls included, let out a sharp "AYIA!"
---
As the Eighth Fleet broke off from the main Admiralty, the E2-D Hawkeyes, launched from the Admiralty's carriers, continued their vigilant patrol of the waters.
For both IC and OoC, please refer to me as the Altarian Empire, or Altair in short form. The demonym is Altarian(s.)

People watched on the screen as the missile exploded, but didn't take the satellite with it. People were angry, screaming profanities for several moments, before the commanding officer quieted them all down.

"They're not out of the woods yet..."

GARDIAN Base

It was quiet, as just a dozen men and women checked the systems on the Anti-Satellite laser. This development had started when the Altarian Empire made their own anti-satellite laser system. The GARDIAN, one of the first, was being prepped for a combat operation. A real combat operation.

"I'm not sure this laser's even finished," muttered one of the technicians, Alfred.

"Shut up, man. We've been working on this for months. It'll do it's job," replied another, Nicholas.

They worked for a few more minutes, tinkling about with the mechanics of the weapon, until, finally, they named her "finished; ready to go." They moved the laser turret around just a bit, to ensure that it was working fine. After a few rotary tests, they locked on to the satellite a GASM had tried to destroy earlier. "Do I mark it now," asked Alfred, unsure of how to proceed.

"Yeah, man. Do it."
Alfred clicked a few buttons on the keyboard, and locked on to the satellite. He hesitated for a moment, but, after a brief impulse of courage, and clicked the "Fire" button. The laser jumped backwards three times, as massive beams of yellow light penetrated the atmosphere. Lasers always had 100% accuracy, and a computer never missed. A massive explosion appeared in the orange sky. They all nodded their heads, glad of the success of their mission. For the first time, the United States had fired at a satellite with a laser weapon. An achievement that would not be the last...

U.S. Coast

The United States had suddenly become busy. A war had erupted close to their borders and shores, and now, they were fighting to make sure that their defenses did the trick against the aggressors. It was a different type of day; Usually, the U.S. wasn't a target of an invasion. Today, they were. But the U.S. had prepared for that; Spent hundreds of billions of Grand Dollars on the development of sufficient defenses to protect the coasts.

Then, suddenly, an L/B satellite detected something. The operator of the satellite, Jane Silva, sat in her seat, watching the console beep as naval movements were detected, off the Eastern Coast. Startled, she looked around the room, until she saw her commanding officer, Jake Halvester. She waved at him, and watched as he stepped, quickly, to her seat, bending down over her head to look at the screen. "Ships spotted, sir." Jake looked, intensely, at the screen, wondering about his options. He shook his head quickly, and said, "Send this to Missile Command. They'll deal with it."

Jane nodded, and connected the satellite feed to Missile Command.

They can take it from here...

U.S. Eastern Missile Command

Hector Connor was on the receiving end of the satellite feed. He watched as the L/B loomed over the enemy's 5 carriers. Just 5 carriers?, he thought, after making absolutely sure that there were no other ships around. Whatever...

He flipped on a comm channel with his missile operators, and said, "Roger, Missile Operators, this is Hector Connor, requesting missile strikes on enemy carrier fleet of Eastern Border."

"Roger. Exact location?"

"Sector 0-Alpha-5-Foxtrot-Sierra-7-3"

"Roger that, we've got satellite feed of the area. Woah...just 5 carriers?"

Hector laughed, mentally, as the operator said the words. "That's all targets, operator."

"Roger that. Arming and firing missiles now."

Missile pods in different silos all across the Eastern Border opened up, preparing to fire whichever missiles were necessary to obliterate the carrier fleet.

"Missile-1, away!" The first missile's engine ignited, burning it's fuel at intense temperatures, blasting it out of it's silo, and towards the target group.

"Missile-2, away!" The man continued to repeat the same process up to Missile-132, after which he stopped. 132 missiles, each with a 3,200 pound warhead, had been fired at just 5 carriers. "Overkill, if you ask me," said the operator, as the last missile launched. Hector shook his head, and simply replied, "All right, operator. All missiles fired. Return to stand-by mode."

"Roger that. Returning to stand-by mode."

The once quiet, now ecstatic, missile command had begun to tone down it's "energy" levels. People, who had been standing and applauding the launches, were sitting down in their seats, headsets back on, and checking their consoles. Everything turned quiet again; But for how long would that last?

OoC:
Dude!
I said it's not called flanking. It's called fighting on two fronts.
Also, Central, some of your ships would have been sunk by the missile and CIWS barrage from my patrols. If you could be so kind as to include casualties...
Oh, and fighting on two fronts is only hard in a real war. In RPing, I just need to sit down for longer periods of time...

U.S. Eastern Coast

As missiles zoomed over the Eastern Coast, headed for the several enemy carriers, a small group of 2 Washington-Class Battleships, 6 Killer-Class Destroyers, and 7 Wolf-Class Cruisers followed, closely behind.

Colonel Harold Sharpe, on the battleship USS Armageddon, looked at the carriers from afar. He laughed, lowly, and ordered his fleet to move in closer, guns blazing. Not minutes after the first missiles were launched, the small group of naval vessels were already firing their own weapons on the carriers.

Considering you haven't even let me respond to your post with my good quality ones (that take more than 10 seconds to write), I'm gonna retcon this. You cant quick post me; I'm not gonna let that happen. I'm trying to respond, and you guys post more and more and more. You're overwhelming me.
I can't wait to see what you guys do while I sleep...

Edit:

Central, I'm definitely not accepting you having 5,000 heli-jets (running on nitrogen, of all things) in 10 aircraft carriers. No. You deploy in small numbers. Quality/Quantity.

IC:
Crucilandian carriers
The carriers, turrets trained on the horizon, sailed on. Communications to the sattelite had been lost in the terrible blast of yellow light from a laser. At least they knew where to go... Suddenly, 2 missiles got let loose and hurtled towards the Crucilandian carriers. The turret gunners instinctively auto-locked and opened fire. Two heat rays hit the first missile, exploding it from 2 miles from the carriers. The other missile, however, got within 500 meters before 5 heat rays hit it. The blast was tremendous; it shook the hulls and covered the decks in soot. The blast wave may have not hit it's target, but debris and shrapnel lightly pelted the top and front of it, with a few sparse pieces bouncing off other ships' hulls. The Overlord in the lead ship roared in the local intercom, "ALL TURRETS OPEN FIRE UPON ALL MISSILE BAYS!!!"

For every carrier, there were 30 heat beams and 10 EMP cannons. Only the heat beams went off. Giving there were five carriers, that meant A HUNDRED AND FIFTY BEAMS OF PURE FIRE streaked across the horizon, incinerating defenses and instantly turning the coastal grasslands into a raging brush fire. The fires also caused air-bursts, which began to suffocate soldiers and civilians along the coast. Slowly, the oxygen came back. Most of the missile turrets, and some of the battlements and other artillery/ships, were incinerated...

...and another wave was bound to come.

OOC: Notice how I only made one attack. I'm giving you a chance.

OK, let's see. Tell me, what happened to the other 130 missiles I fired?
Even if I had fired two, you realize that destroying them both is godmodding, correct? Even if it's close? You're refusing defeat...
And i don't care that you only made one attack. That's not the point. You completely ignored the fact that I sent ships towards you, and you completely ignored 130 Tomahawk missiles. Of which are swarming you at the same time, so you can't go about saying you shot down every single damn missile. That's not how this works. You need to be fair, and you need to understand that you have to, at some point, accept defeat in certain occasions. I accepted that your satellite obliterated the missile, because I have something similar. But destroying two missiles, of which were the only ones to get to you, when I had fired 132?

IC:
Crucilandian Carriers
Following behind the missiles were 130 additional missiles. While the huge carriers had REDICULOUSLY thick armor, 130 was just too much. Each one could handle 20, maybe 25 before it wasn't seaworthy. As the crew and soldiers ejected from the ship seconds before impact, so did the drones. The MJC soldiers' heavy power-armor made them sink beneath the ocean, where from there they used their life-support systems to just trudge through the waters to shore. Al the while, fires and explosions destroyed the carriers, cracking open it's hull and releasing the 25,000 drones within. (from earlier) The heat and pressure made some of the soldiers get to one knee from the shock and, for those right underneath the blasts, the heat.

As for the 25,000 drones that broke loose, only about 21,000 got out in time. The rest lay crippled or destroyed alongside the sinking hull. The drones immediately began firing their radioactive payloads of multifrequency lasers at the ships, setting them on fire and jamming signals. All in all, the 5 carriers were so small for a good reason- they didn't need a sizeable force.

CH4+ 02 = CO2 + H20

That's the formula for combustion. Air doesn't ignite. Combustion occurs in the presence of oxygen, but you need fuel to do it: AKA CH4. You can't burn anything that doesn't contain CH4.

Also, light is made of photons, not protons.

OOC: Okay, then check that. The air simply got super-hot and then a very powerful wave of heat made the air hazy for about 500 feet from the laser. (you know, like how desert mirages form?)

OK, say to the whatnow? Oxygen? You mean...Oxygen? As in...Oxygen?
No, Oxygen isn't flammable. Oxygen is consumed by fire, and used to keep it alive, but Oxygen isn't flammable. So what you explained right there is not scientifically possible.

Now, for your post.

First, I didn't edit. That's been there since the first time I wrote that post.
Second, each missile has a 3200 pound warhead. You're telling me that your carriers (which are generally less armored than other naval vessels) can survive 64-80,000 pounds? Please, tell me what material you're using!

Third, carrier carries nothing but planes and supplies. It doesn't carry tanks, and it doesn't carry radioactive spitting drones. That's assured.

Fourth, I'm pretty sure that, when 132 missiles slam into 5 carriers, most of your drones (that shouldn't even be on) will die. Not just 4,000.
Now, tell me, how is it that you manage to set metallic ships on fire again?
Also, contradiction there.

"...the 5 carriers were so small..."

First, light has PHOTONS, not PROTONS, 2 very different things. Second, light exerts no kinetic force, therefore it cannot produce heat through impact. However it CAN produce heat by exciting the molecules of an atomic structure, which is completely different to what you imply. Also, oxygen is not combustible in on itself, and exciting it's molecules will NOT change this. Lastly, the longer the range of a Directed energy weapon, the less effective it becomes. This is because humidity in the atmosphere disrupts the focus of the beams, and kills its effectiveness.

So no, your beams are pretty god-moddish right there.

"While the huge carriers..."

OOC: Well, my mistake...

1) I must've not seen that part. Oh, well.
2) Well, Cruciland had invented a certain metal that is like carbon nanotubes, but made out of a mixture of beryllium, (for elasticity and heat resistance) lonsdaelite, (for strength) and helium. (for weight) Crucilandian vessels are often behind, at this size, roughly 20 feet of this nano-scale metal. THAT'S how they're not completely obliterated, but just "destroyed".

3) Okay, I admit that carriers are SUPPOSED to carry aircraft, but this is a PMT civilization. Things change. (that must explain the turrets on the carriers) Now, drones are still technically aircraft in this case, so these radiation-firing chunks of metal are thus legit. Sorry to confuse you.

4) Simple- as that one post you ignored mentioned, "As soon as we open fire, deploy the drones.". That said, the drones were already about to shoot out of the open hanger doors.

5) I meant the fleet was small, but the carriers were big. Whoops.

White Falls Naval Air Station

The People's Republic prepared for war even though they had not officially declared a state of war against the fascist's, it was coming. Troops, Planes, Ships, and other items of importance were being loaded onto a massive fleet in which to help the United States fight the fascist movement. Army and Marine Corps troops loaded onto the massive Enviento Class carrier's in which the Navy was mostly equipped with. They were like gigantic gunship/plane - troop transports. Submarines were being equipped with Hypersonic Cruise Missiles.

A strike team of highly classified spec op soldiers were heading towards the BNS Falkreath in which they would conduct Special Operations into Aryan Nation's.

Carrier-launched F-22's were being transported to the Enviento Class Carriers to protect the giant battle group. F/A-18's were being loaded to provide a multi-role fighter to the group in which to bomb and help F-22 pilots protect the group.

Bankamparian 'Freedom' Fleet:
* 18 Enviento Class Carriers
* 22 Submarines
* 12 Cruiser's
* 16 Corvettes

* 600 F-22 Raptor's
* 750 F/A-18 Super Hornet's
* 300 AH-1Z Super Cobra's
* 250 AH-64 Apache's
* 400 SH-60 Seahawk's
* 100 CH-46 Sea Knights

* 200 B-52 Long-Range Bombers
* 200 B-1B Supersonic Long-Range Bombers [Bomber's not launched on the carriers]

* 100,000 Army - Marine Troops + Navy Personnel

OOC: As for YOU, Seven Realms, I GET IT. Oxygen doesn't combust. I thought I came to that conclusion awhile back. Now, when I said "upon impact", I was talking about NOT the kinetic energy, but what you said; the "disruption of molecules, which can generate heat". Due to the enormous concentration from these capital-sized beams, they can manipulate the particles enough to maybe do severe damage, like, let's say, ripping through atoms and causing the reaction needed to explode into flames. Plus, giving the density, the humidity would probably scatter it, yes, but there would still be anough concentration in the beam to ignite grass/some structures/etc.

GREAT AMERICA, this goes for you, too. Your ships were incinerated by the CONCENTRATION of said "laser", thus resulting in the molecules heating up to where the hull could melt. (and in some forges, you can see this metal give off flames in this molten state) THAT'S why some of the vessesl are ignited.

Simple- put the molten metal into an airtight chamber, then compress it so that there is no air pocket between it and the roof of the chamber. Then, from underneath, release helium gas. The helium bubbles will mix with the metal, creating a sort of mixture, NOT A COMPOUND OF SORTS, thus enabling for the metal to be lightweight, yet strong. Like human bones.
