Earlier today, Defence.Net was acknowledged of the in-orbit multiple interception successes of Haize Aero Ballistic Forces'-developed Volumetric Kinetic Interceptor (VKI) against simulated targets in low to medium earth orbit which were conducted by Haize Armed Space Forces. Militants Agree Summerfall 'Ceasefire'

WEST MORDENT - It has been reported that the various militant groups in Commonwealth controlled West Mordent have agreed to a 'ceasefire' ahead of the forthcoming Summerfall Festival due to be held over the weekend.

The island of Mordent as a whole has been known for the unrest between the various militant groups, mainly drawn along ethic lines, since the 1960s and the Morridane Army attempting to keep order. The troubles result from tensions between two ethic groups, the Celtic Mordentish and the Slavic Norgorkans (widely believed to be descendants of Russian PoWs from the Crimean War). Both groups clash over different matters ranging from religion through to jobs and civil rights, as such as long been a troublesome province which the Kingdom of Imbrinium discovered after occupying the island a few years ago.

This year's Summerfall Festival is the first time that it has been held since West Mordent returned to Morridane control, the turmoil of the past few years have meant that it has been impossible to hold the festival since 2009. However the island remains divided with East Mordent still under Imbrinium control and the Trans-Mordent Border has been closed in response to the current conflict raging between Imbrinium and the Holy Empire of Stevid, so it is uncertain whether any celebrations will be taking place in East Mordent.

Traditionally the Summerfall Festival has been held at the end of August each year to mark the end of summer, the beginning of the harvest and the last chance for the community to really get together before the nights drew in. Though there have been times over the years when the festivities have been effected by the violence of the so-called 'Mordent Troubles', but these have thankfully been few and far between with little in the way of casualties. Regardless the Festival has drawn a great many people from all over Greater Dienstad and beyond, a large number of visitors are expected to be attending this year's festival.

It is understood that Morridane Army units will remain in their billets where they'll be having celebrations of their own, security duties will be handled by the Royal Mordent Constabulary as no major security issues are expected.

Buccaneers In Joint Morridane-Lamonian Exercise

NEPHI, FRL - In a rare move the Morridane and Lamonian Defence Ministries have issued a joint statement regarding the recent completion of a joint training exercise between the Commonwealth and the Free Republic.

The announcing of the exercise was deliberately delayed until it had been concluded, the reasoning behind this move is believed to have been connected to tensions caused earlier in the year when Castille de Italia sank a Mokan cruise liner in response to the announcement of joint Lamonian-Akimond exercises. Though it is understood that the decision was because of Commonwealth wishes, hardly surprising due to the Imbrinium-Stevidian taking place effectively right on its doorstep.

The exercise itself involved 607 Naval Air Squadron of the Royal Morridane Navy's Fleet Air Arm, flying from the aircraft carrier HMMS Rowland on a simulated attack run into Lamonian airspace. The Buccaneers penetrated Lamonian airspace at an altitude of less than 100 feet, where the Morridane strike aircraft where in their prime, and proceeded to capture photographs of the designated target whilst the Lamonians attempted to detect and intercept the intrusion. It is understood that the Buccaneers were spotted, but the Morridane crews returned to the Rowland with photographs of the target taken from rooftop level.

Lamoni to send aircraft to Morrdh

Normally when a Lamonian ally needs military assistance, the Free Republic has not hesitated to give it. This is especially true when a Lamonian ally in Greater Dienstad requests help.

With the nation of HailandKill launching airstrikes against the Commonwealth of Morrdh, war between the two states has started up once more, after a period of seeming cold war between them. With Morrdh activating the terms of the alliance between the Free Republic and the Commonwealth, the Free Republic is responding by dispatching two Aerospace Divisions to help defend our ally's airspace. These large, balanced aerial formations will have the dual missions of defending Morridane airspace, as well as bombing enemy targets which might show themselves.

At the same time, there is also word from the Lamonian Defense Ministry that they will offer to replace any equipment losses that the Morridane forces might sustain during this war. As a gesture of good faith, the Lamonian Defense Ministry has informed Lamoni Today that four Divinus class SSKs will be the first equipment offered to our Morridane allies.

Shortly after 4am local time a massive aerial strike was launched by the Imperial Republic of Hailandkill, followed afterwards by a large scale ground assault across the Killian-Morridane border and ending months of tension between the two nations. Heavy fighting in the Kyitan Mountain Range has been seen for much of the day and is reported to be ongoing, no casualty figures have been released by either side as of yet but they are expected to be high. Pilots of the Royal Morridane Air Force have been heavily engaged, fighting large dogfights over the border and on low-level strike missions but not without losses. It believed that a dent has been made in the Killian forces, but it remains to be seen whether it was a telling blow.

Presently there still is much fighting in the mountains and there has been a stream of wounded Morridane soldiers heading north, though the fall of dusk and continuing artillery fire the Kyitan Mountains are looking like the scene of a brawl between two angry giants.

HPVA States MU-6HM AGMA Will Be Completely Invisible to Conventional Radars

Haishan Prospective Technologies Agency or known as HPVA had recently announced that the nation latest and greatest, sixth generation fighter MU-6HM AGMA or known as Demon will be completely invisible to conventional and contemporary radars currently in use by majority of the world nations. Reservists Undergoing A Crash Refresher Course

MORRDUN - Following the recent Killian invasion vast numbers of Reservists are being called up across the Commonwealth.

Over the past few days the Morridane Ministry of Defence has issued the first wave of call-up papers for Army Reservists, barring those in Reserved Occupations such as railway workers or other trades deemed vital to the war effort. A second wave is expected over the next week or so and will consist of Air Force and Naval Reservists. National Service and volunteer recruitment has temporally been suspended in order to free up training camps for the influx of Reservists, training for recruits will begin again once the bulk of Reservists have been processed.

Civilians have started being conscripted for war work in the factories as the Commonwealth shifts onto a war footing, production of luxury goods has virtually ceased in favour of war materials and rationing is being phased in. This is combined with various methods on the Home Front to protect key buildings and bring black out regulations into effect across the entire nation.

Morridane Parliament Paralysed By No Confidence Motion In Wake Of War!

MORRDUN - In the wake of an invasion by the Imperial Republic of Hailandkill, Her Morridane Majesty's Government finds itself effectively paralysed by a surprise 'Motion of No Confidence' call in Parliament.

The Motion was called by Nicolas McBain, MP for the eastern coastal town of Gotham and leader of the Opposition, as he took to the floor of the House of Commons when Prime Minister Edmund Vermillion and his Commonwealth Party attempted to push through an Emergency Powers (Defence) Act. McBain cited that he called for the Motion due to the recent Killian invasion, something he said was the direct result of what has been dubbed 'Vermillion's Folly' after Prime Minister Vermillion ordered a limited invasion of the border to improve security and lost the island of Mordent to an Imbrinium invasion three years ago. Though the PM suffered a severe drop in the polls and a near mutiny in his own party, he managed to turn things around and shoot down an attempt by McBain to call for a similar Motion of No Confidence early last year.

However until Parliament votes on the Motion, which is arranged to take place tomorrow, the Morridane government is effectively paralysed during a major crisis. Military commanders on the ground have been simply ordered to deal with the invasion best they can until the crisis in Parliament is resolved one way or another, even if it means a new government being formed.

FIRES OF PRESLAFF: HOW FAR IS TOO FAR?

It has been nearly two weeks since Mokan forces in Castille de Italia captured the Imperial Chancellery in Preslaff and hung Mokan Black Banners with the Red Star from its remains, but recently leaked footage shows there is more going on than meets the eye. In addition to the traditional Red and Black propaganda banners being hung from captured government buildings and various monuments, it seems that looting, graffiti and defacing the monuments of Preslaff have become all to commonplace. While word from Military Command has been that nothing will be held sacred in Preslaff, the question is how far has the military taken their philosophy?

Leaked photos, such as the ones we were not allowed to publish, include two soldiers pissing on what appears to be a fallen statue of a man riding a horse. Others include rude slogans in both Spanish and Aquarian painted on the sides of government buildings and in offices.

Some rumors indicate that this behavior is even unofficially approved of. One such rumor claims that even Generalissimo Gorbechov, the man in charge of the Preslaff invasion, led a convoy to the Imperial Chancellery to loot all the remaining furniture from the building.

Perhaps most disturbing, is the images of dead Castillian Legionaries. Some hung by their neck from monuments, others merely piled in the middle of what appears to be a parade square at the feet of a statue referred to as "The Imperial Phoenix". Most of the bodies appeared to be looted for valuables such as ammo or food, but some had even been stripped down including the uniform.

Official word from the government is that they are conducting Psychological Operations in the area to convince the Castillians to surrender. However we must ask at what point does the disgracing go from making the enemy feel helpless, to making them want to lash out completely against us?
