The Keflekki listened through Navarrone's lecture, thinking what is this, a sunday school? I can arrive in whichever condition I please... not like we're going to get anything accomplished here that doesn't put my world in more danger.

It took quite a bit of willpower to prevent Cameron from speaking the words he really wanted to say to the Aumani, but he replied straightly, "absolutely, your grace. I'm waiting for a 'sober-smack' to kick in.. so, I'll be fine; nothing to fret." He then averted his eyes and walked back to his podium, his walk much smoother now as the effects of the alcohol in his body became less apparent.

The man representing the Colony of Phenia had never traveled so far in his life. Indeed, no one aboard the small, aging Thresher class corvette (it's only weapon, the 'Blackfire' PAW, not in attendance) had either. The fact of their long journey was of purely academic interest, of course. FTL being what it was, he spent more time in and out of shuttles than plying the starlanes.

When he arrived, he realized just how far he really was. The Galactic Assembly building was a minor marvel of engineering and style, but what piqued his interest was the sheer assemblage of alien races. Some strange, a few recognizable, most thoroughly and truly alien to him. As a baseline human, PMG Representative Karl Nyman felt a wave of self-consciousness hit him briefly as he saw things from the others' eyes. To many here, he was the odd man out - not so much as a single organ replaced, not a single gene tampered with.

The Colony had no vested interest in the politics of the Galactic Assembly - had, in fact, not even heard of the Galactic Assembly until the invitation had been sent. The small government was ill-prepared; no army of diplomats or ambassadors to call on, they had chosen him because of his availability more than any particular skill.

Nyman was tall, but not too tall, and of average build. His black hair was cropped short; black eyes, black suit, black tie, black shoes, all gave the mistaken impression of a man with lighter skin. After being thoroughly examined he was allowed into the building, where he gave a cursory glance to see if the Xiscapians had a delegation present. They didn't. He found his seat and did what he had been chiefly sent to do: observe.

the NERV delegate entered the building, he wore a pinstriped suit and carried a briefcase handcuffed to his wrist, he spotted Navarrone and walked towards the man
"overlord Navarrone, it is a pleasure to meet you, the emperor sends his regards, as does the SEELE comity, they only wish they could be here in person"he said as he bowed and extended his hand for Mr Navarrone to shake.

'It's good to see you too, sir.' Navarrone glanced down at the briefcase and was wondering what exactly was in there. He'd probably never find out, so he abolished the thought. If it was radioactive, he wouldn't have an arm anymore. The Overlord shook hands with the man, having no clue what his name was and smiled for the cameramen that were buzzing around the hall. This, like all Galactic Assembly events from now on, will be heavily documented by the media. The idea was to keep everyone, including himself, on their best behavior, lest they be relentlessly slammed.

As the two men finished going through the rather large number of security checks, they walked into the meeting room. Looking around, they saw many peoples, many of them unknown to the Colonies. Indeed, the only reason that the Colonies of Orinon knew of this meeting was a through a long range transmission, picked up by a Recon Auron frigate on patrol in the Rainia system. Thus, the Colonial government spent the next 3 days arguing about it, then decided to send the highest ranked military officer they could find that wasn't tied up with the Rainia War. Unfortunately, they forgot to mention where the meeting was until the long range frigate carrying the officer was ready to make the first of about 50 FTL jumps. This, coupled with the positioning of the Tarnia system in the galaxy, made this the longest FTL travel made by anyone in the meeting AND in the history of the Colonies.

"Goodie. This should be interesting," said the older of the men, in his 50's.
"Indeed. Looks like we do know some of the people here," said the younger of the men, nodding his head in the direction of the Enlightened delegates. This man was in his mid 20's, with sandy brown hair. He looked more like a university student then he did the most powerful Admiral in the Colonies. Which he was.
"Great. So, shall we see where this blind jump takes us? Not too late to leave," said the older man, whoes name was Firion Clouda. He was the governments chosen representative to this meeting for one reason: He was smart AND expendable.
"May as well stay. We came all this frakking way," said Admiral of The Fleet Mathew Jusion, seating himself in a empty slot at the table, as far away from the Enlightened delegates as possible.

Lukas van Rijn of Rijn Industries, a signatory of the Corporate Coalition of Rikese, stepped off the ramp of the diplomatic shuttle and onto the tarmac. With him he brought Noodles, his "aide". Noodles tarried a little too long and received a jolt directed via Lukas' controller implants for slaves.

"Come Noodles, before I fry your brain stem. Did you bring the information on this oh-so-useful meeting?"

Noodles only nodded timidly before uploading the information to Lukas' implant.

It was a long walk during which he learned the purpose of the meeting. He was told to observe, so he would do just that and nothing more. As one of the trustees of Rijn Arms, and a senior member of that family, he wasn't about to shoot himself in the foot just so a few soldiers can die with a little less agony in a "civilized war".

The Trecdom delegation arrived at the meeting hall, sans weapons as requested. Colonel Teruna was not happy with that particular stipulation although she understood the reasoning behind it. As head of the M.A.C.O. detachment guarding the Trecdom embassy in the GCP, she had been requested to accompany Ambassador Lado as the meeting was to deal with warfare. Entering the room, they took a their seats and awaited the start of proceedings.

The Spredronian ambassador walked in. He was wearing battle armor and had a pistol in his holster. He said, "It's for self-defence. We're kind of new on the intergalactic stage, so we can't really trust anyone and haven't lasted long enough to make many allies."

He then said, "Alright, so what have we gone over before?"

Exactly forty five minutes after he had sat down, Aiden Copane, president of Aieb, now grew very impatient. The room had grown more crowded, a lot more crowded, and world leaders were fighting for seats. One of the few seats open was the one where Aiden had propped up his legs on, and he had no intention to move. He looked at his watch impatiently. He gets up and cups his hands over his mouth to be heard more loudly.

"Attention all, does any one know when this conference begins?"

Many people around him looked in the direction of Aiden but then went back to mind their own business.

"Okay...does any one know what this meeting is even about?"

The people seemed to be more interested with this question and several conversations started as to the purpose of the meeting. This and that could be heard by Aiden but nothing concrete. Aiden sat back down and propped his legs back up before a large alien sat in it. The alien looked upset, but walked off.

"If this doesn't start soon, I'm leaving..."

'Excuse me, sir, but you will have to surrender that weapon.' Said a black clad and fully armored Aumanii Shock Trooper. A section of troopers, supporting the security mission in the lobby of the Galactic Assembly perked up, thumbing the safeties off of their rifles. 'So, without further delay, I would like that pistol, now.' The Troopers frustration was starting to show through, he was a trained killer, not a baby sitter for cowardly diplomats. What the ambassador might have noticed, if he bothered to take the time to look, is that security was extremely tight and that he was not going to be exempt from the same procedure that every other diplomat had politely, enough, accepted as matter of fact.

Despite being invited to this convention of powers, in the honorable, yet illogical attempt to civilize war, we thank, but must decline the invitation. We decline due to the course being, that the Union finds, as stated above, the attempt to civilize and create rules to armed conflict is all but illogical. Hence the case that we shall not be sending an official representative. However, as requested by the Majestrate Council, we will send an observer by the name of Vulder Craun, to oversee the operations of this engagement, and view if the due course of action, chosen to be undertaken by the government of the United Imperium of the Xzarian Union is indeed correct in the case of circumstances.

Navarrone finally took the podium. He was hoping that ol' Jimmy Newman, his father in law, was going to attend, but that apparently was not the case. He tapped the microphone with dubious suspicion. When he was satisfied that everything was in working order, he cleared his throat and spoke. 'Bah weep granna weep nini bong. Welcome to the third monthly meeting of the Galactic Assembly. I fully understand the difficulty you all must have had in getting here and for that I am greatly appreciative. After last months session, I have been urged by the Aumanii Military Mothers Association to do something about the atmosphere of these occasions. So, without further dallying about, I present to you Mrs. Augustine Garza.' Navarrone ushered the elderly, well dressed, woman to the podium. She started to speak, but the microphone was too high for the stout woman. Navarrone and several attendants rushed forward to adjust the mic and the assembly hall started to hear the woman, mid sentence.

'...Trust building excersize! So please, turn to the person on your left and introduce yourself. And no fiddling around, either.' Grumbled the old woman. Surely, those gathered would be completely confused by what was going on. The Aumanii Military Mothers Association was the single most powerful non-governmental organization on the planet, so much so that even the Overlord, the undisputed dictator of the entire solar system, paid very close attention to what they had to say.

Navarrone could see that no one was doing anything. He stepped up to the mic and said, very sternly 'You heard the lady, introduce yourselves.'

Mrs. Garza put a gentle hand on Navarrone's shoulder and thanked him for the courtesy, also introducing herself. Trying to hide his scowl with a shit eating grin, Navarrone reciprocated.

"Welcome. It is good to see you General, please have a seat. At least now we have someone on similar terms with ourselves."

VarTayen shook the Huerdaen's hand and was about to continue when Navarrone took to the podium and made his speech. When the woman took to the stand and made her announcement VarTayen had to stifle his laughter, somewhat glad that the massive breathing mask covered as much of his face as it did. Serans hissed inaudibly into his mask, the communications devices being the only reason VarTayen could hear him at all.

"They cannot be serious."

"Be glad, Serans, that we have a Huerdaen to our left."

Nodding, Serans extended his hand to once again shake the Huerdaen's hand.

"As the time seems appropriate, General, I am Diplomat Kiran Serans. This is my associate Ludate VarTayen."

The Rethast made every effort to avoid seeming ungracious, not wishing to ostracise themselves at this early stage, and waited for someone to inevitably try and introduce themselves...

Kandajr listened intently, and by the time it was all done, has a rather amused look on his face. Turning to his right to see the Telrosian delegate and one of the few other ESUS members present, Amanda Shahin, he warmly embraced her and kissed her on the cheek, as was Dersconi custom. Pulling back slightly to face her with a rather bemused look in his eyes, mouth twisted in a smirk desperately trying not to laugh. "Hi there, I'm Kandajr Kazankrov from Derscon. A pleasure to meet you." He was pretty sure Amanda would know Kandajr. HE was a freelance journalist, made famous for exposing the horrors of the original Aumanii refugee camps, but prominently known within the academic circles for his works on his journalistic works on the horrors of war. Whether a Telrosian would read those news sites and journals, though, was another story. However, she was at the previous meeting, where Kandajr and Amanda had worked out a few things which ended up sparking a private meeting with the First of Telros and the Tsar of Derscon, it's results still inconclusive.

"Hello," He said, smiling a smile that he practiced since taking the role of leader of his people. It was a smile that made people trust him and feel safe and secure. Being treated as a respected equal was enough to make the Huerdaen general nod in acceptance of the Rethast diplomat, a group he himself had heard about, but knew almost nothing about. In any case, it quickly did not matter as further conversation was cut off by Navarrone's speech. It was met with disbelief at first, then incredulous disapproval, and while the General gladly greeted the Rethast delegate, he made no move to greet the delegate to his left. Crisp uniform and proper posture were the perfect reasons to ignore the being to his left, as he had no intention of dealing with the niceties of international politics. They were not here for friendliness, and he expected to know nobody. It made dealing with other nations that much simpler and more proper. The Rethast's words were met with a stiff nod, and an annoyed glance at the two.

"They cannot possibly believe this is important. This meeting is concerning the rules of war which all nations are expected to abide by, not who our neighbors are. I'm insulted they would waste our time in this manner. If this charade continues, we will have no part in this discussion."

Glancing toward the front, the Huerdaen made sure that those around could hear his concerns. He feared no retribution, and spoke his mind on the annoyance of their wasted time. There was no need for the Empire to bow and scrape to these hosts for their supposed hospitality, and at an assembly, voices were expected to be heard. This was the voice of the Huerdaen Star Empire, and it called for the real assembly to begin.

OOC: After some thought, I am putting this back how it was and will RP the aftermath of Ko'rhyan being fired on, as others seem to be doing.

As the chief diplomat and head of the Osgarnan military there could be no one in Osgarna better qualified to attend a session of the Galactic Assembly on the rules of war. However, he walked into the chamber a bit late, to shouts of "Halt!" from the security at the gate, as the proceedings were beginning. He had, in fact arrived on time, but was wearing his ancient ceremonial Ko'quara armor and carrying his blade Kuranko.

"We can't allow you to bring any weapons into the chamber, sir," said the Aumanii Shock Trooper.

"What are you going to attack a foreign diplomat? Do you think I will? This is a diplomatic affair and all delegates were specifically invited, correct? Where is the danger?" Ko'rhyan replied, somewhat perplexed. "In any case, do you honestly think that karali are not nearly as deadly unarmed?" he added as an afterthought.

"Sorry, sir, but I just can't let you carry that. Rules are rules."

"This is the holy blade Kuranko. It is over twelve thousand years old. If you try to take from me, you will die by it, understand?" Ko'rhyan said, slightly irritated now. As if to prove his resolve, he began to unsheathe the ancient Void Steel sword and stepped a little closer to the Shock Trooper, towering over the poor man.

"Let's be reasonable now," said the Shock Trooper. The last thing he probably wanted today was a fight.

"Precisely, what I wanted to hear," said Ko'rhyan and swept past into the chamber before the soldier knew what was happening.

Raimi was thoroughly distracted, holding up a small pocket computer functioning as a camcorder, watching the Osgarnan idiot who tried to bring a weapon past security. Whispering to herself "I give this guy about 4 more seconds.."

"Hello," He said, smiling a smile that he practiced since taking the role of leader of his people. It was a smile that made people trust him and feel safe and secure. "I am the High Chancellor, Charles, of the reat House of Daemonicai, the ruling faction in the Grand Imperium. It's a pleasure to meet you."

"Karl Nyman," he replied, happy not to have to deal with inter-species relations for the moment. "Representative, Phenia Mining Group. It is an honor to meet you, High Chancellor."

Formality dropped aside and he lowered his voice. "What a way to start the Assembly. I am told that the last one ended unpleasantly, so it makes sense. Perhaps something will be accomplished today."

The High Chancellor was intrigued.

"How unpleasant was it?"

Nyman arched his eyebrows. "From what I've heard, for an organization designed to assist galactic peace, that meeting ended with... irony."

He looked casually at the entrance and exits, where heavily armed shock troopers carefully checked every representative for weapons. "They're certainly not taking any chances this time."
