Conference Hall, St Stepensburg Outer Districts, Federal Socialist Republic of Yaroslavl

"Hey, you asleep there?"

Andrey thanked the college next to him who had quietly stirred him. He then took a sip from his coffee and continued the arduous task of trying to listen to a speech by Boris Alliluyev, the Leader of the Union of Yaroslavian Patriots, the smaller of the two major parties in the Union of Patriotic Forces. Andrey himself was a member of the larger National Party of Yaroslavl. Boris, Andrey noted, was a capable organiser but had little charisma. There was also the problem of what they could say. There were limits to their ability to criticise the socialist system. Thankfully, he was sitting at the back. It was harder for the person speaking to see if you weren't paying attention at this end of the room.

He then looked to his right. The United Socialist Party of Yaroslavl, the main independent socialist party, had a habit of sending representatives to these meetings in hope of getting the support of moderates amongst this gathering. Alliluyev was definitely not a moderate, though he did keep himself in check. Unsurprisingly they were even more bored than he was.

As he sat there, wondering if there would be a break soon, he heard a noise. At first he ignored it. The he heard it again. The people next to him had clearly heard it too. "What it that noise?" he thought. "Perhaps this disturbance will permit a break while it is checked out". He then looked towards the podium. Alliluyev was still speaking and no one was moving towards him. Andrey sighed. "No break and now this" Andrey thought. "I do wish this could just end already".

Then the doors to the room suddenly shattered. At that moment, everyone jumped out of their seats. The room promptly became a place of chaos as each person tried to get out. In a matter of moments they soon had help in that, but not in a way they would have liked.

Troops of the Internal Security Ministry quickly flooded into the room and began dragging the people out. Andrey soon found himself with a OMON soldier with an arm tightly holding on to him and dragging him through the corridors of the building towards the main entrance. Naturally, there was shouting at first, though that was slowly reduced by angry shouts and the administering of blows with batons by the OMON soldiers.

Then there was another noise, one far more frightening. Gunfire, coming from the main hall. Andrey's face immediately turned a sickly pale colour. He looked at the OMON soldier dragging him though the corridors and with some effort, managed to blurt out "What is happening here?"

The OMON soldier did not reply, but, in Andrey's opinion, looked as if he did not know either. Soon enough, they were finally out. The sound of gunfire continued to ring in the air and, as more OMON soldiers poured in and one was brought out on a stretcher, Andrey just sat there, utterly stunned by what was going on around him.

YT News Studio, Serovskaya

“....and the Reform bill has passed through the Soviet of Workers. As of now, the Ministries have been reorganised into People's Commissariats. This action, according to the government, is done to remove the last vestiges of bourgeoisie thought from the organisation of the Yaroslavian state. Along with those reforms, Sergei Zinoviev has returned to the government as People's Commissar of the Interior. The former defence minister has stated his reason for this move to be a renewed interest in participation in the Communist government”.

The presenter, Alyona Kuzenkova, then shuffled her papers and, at the same time, turned to face a different camera.

“Now on to our top story”.

“The Kremlin has yet to release any more information on the fire fight that left a number of OMON soldiers either dead or in critical condition. The soldiers were sent in to a meeting of nationalist politicians and activists, with the purpose of arresting certain members of the meeting for interrogation regarding subversive activities. Premier Ruhle states that the attack on the OMON troops was likely conducted by radicals opponents of the government, with the intent of stirring up violence between the government and the opposition. He also states that the government would not allow this attack to affect them and that they would continue to deal with disputes peace fully”.

Grand Kremlin Palace, Serovskaya

“So, what do we know now? You must have found something out something new by now”

The person being asked that question was Tatyana Kashina, the head of the Yaroslavian KGB. She was not normally the type of person to be intimidated by anyone. However, Eric Ruhle was managing it. I her defence, he did have the advantage of being both her boss and really pissed off. Of course, she was also the type of person who could easily hide such fear.

“At the moment sir, all we know is that there were armed individuals associated with the Union of Patriotic Forces in that building, that they were likely surprised by our intrusion and that the figures in the conference did not know about the presence of weapons. We have no captives. Those that were not killed managed to escape. We also have no leads on where they got their weapons from. It is possible that they have found old Imperial stockpiles, though they could have easily have obtained those weapons from an external supplier, and there are many willing to take on such a role”.

Eric, still giving her an unfriendly look and speaking in a tone of friendliness that contradicted the look and yet was itself somehow unpleasant, replied “So, we have no leads and have a unknown enemy handing out weapons to the opposition, correct?”. Kashina did her best to hide her embarrassment. She had really not been looking forward to this meeting and it had played out exactly as she had feared it would. “But I am confident you will find you will find them comrade”. As he said this, Kashina was relieved to note that he was no longer glaring at her. “Well, he seems to have decided he has done enough of that for now” Kashina thought.

As she left the room, she was utterly determined to find the perpetrators of this crime and bring them to justice. “I do not want to go through that again” was the thought that ran through her head as she left the palace. At the same time, she had the unpleasant feeling that she would and there was nothing

Nevsky's, Serovskaya

Nevsky's was the name of a restaurant in Serovskaya, the restaurant that a tired and worn looking man was entering. His face was remarkably glum, so much that he startled the staff member who walked up to him. His think layers of clothes were even more worn, which was quite an achievement. At first, the man do not react to the staff member, but when he was about to walk away, the man said “I am here as a guest of Mr Kubyshkin”.

As he said that, the staff member noticed that he had suddenly brightened up considerably. “An odd man” the staff member thought. The man added “I assure you, I am a guest. Mr Kubyshkin will tell you if you take me to him”. He then smiled. “Times have been tough on me, though Mr Kubyshkin has helped me. There is still one thing me must settle”. With some weariness, the tired looking man was brought to Kubyshkin's table.

Yefim was the name of that man and, as he was brought to the table, he thought about why he was there.

“He is not one who hurt me. He, in the grand scheme of things is a little man. I should not have to bother myself with this little man”. At that, he suddenly stopped still. The staff worker noticed, but that stop was only for a moment and they soon continued on their way to the table. “I must do it. I know I will not be able to avenge them in any better way so this is what I must do. I would prefer to have given them a more fitting act but this is what I can do. Turning back now is to dishonour their memory”.

He was soon sat amongst Kubyshkin and his friends. They were all party men and were all clearly drunk. Kubyshkin was clearly the senior of the men of the table and was doing his best to resist the efforts of his comrades to take advantage of his drunken state to gain favours from him. For a few minutes, he sat next to them, with Kubyshkin not paying any attention to him. Then he suddenly said “We must settle our affairs, Kubyshkin”

Kubyshkin, both being surprised by Yefim and not knowing what he was talking about, managed to spurt out “W-w-what?”

“Yes, we must. We must do it now”.

Kubyshkin, still not quite there, replied “N-no, I'm enjoying myself. Wait, please. You must wait. I'd rather we not settle things here either, no matter what it is you want to settle. We shall go somewhere else”.

Yefim, with a tinge of bitterness in his voice, replied “No, no more waiting. I have waited long enough. We will settle things right here, right now”. He then reached into the inner side of his coat.

Then the bomb that he had inserted into his coat exploded.

Good Morning,

We have been observing the political and domestic affairs of your nation and have taken great interests. Yet, we are not ready to present ourselves to the National Convention. The Committee requests some information on the ideological principles the UPF supports. While we tend to be indifferent between socialism and nationalism, it brings us great concern of the totalitarian policies that the socialist government are pursuing in order to maintain their power. Thus, it is in the interests, ideologically, to support the nationalistic faction of the current ongoing struggle for power should you present a platform something that we would support.

Three weeks later

Council of People's Commissariats, Serovskaya

“So, little progress in locating the terrorists?”.

“No sir. However, I have formulated a plan to deal with the situation. With your permission, I will present it to the Council”.

Kashina had already presented the plan to Ruhle and Isyanov. However, they had decided to not reveal their foreknowledge of it. Instead, Ruhle replied with “Proceed with your presentation, Chairwoman Kashina”.

“Thank you sir”.

“It is my analysis that far right organisations are behind both the incident at the UPF meeting and the suicide bombing, meant to kill Comrade Kubyshkin, along with the other people in the café. It seems that members of the right have used the freedoms given to all to reorganise and are moving to re-engage us. Their aim, naturally, is the destruction of the socialist republic. I cannot say what they intend to replace it with, but we must act against them now”.

Ruhle nodded. “We have been too lenient. We have created a socialist society, but we left remnants of the past order alive and these remnants has become cancerous. It is time to move against the reactionaries”.

The Commissars nodded. What Ruhle had said was now a common feeling amongst the party. The Yaroslavian communists had, once established as the governing party after the civil war, permitted a fairly wide range of civil and political freedoms. You could say almost anything, as long it fitted within the parameters of not call for the destruction of the republic or the assassination of the Communist leadership. Not many communist nations had a right wing party in their legislature, yet this was the case in Yaroslavl. The Yaroslavian Communists had decided to beat their enemies in an open and fair manner, one that would show that they truly were ruling on behalf of the people.

But they were the self-proclaimed heirs to Lenin, and they had always been uncomfortable with this loose level of control. With the bombing, their already thin patiences had snapped. They could not compromise now. Even though their plan had not failed them yet, they had decided to abandon it. They had new aims and it did not suit those aims. Making peace with the enemy was something that none of the Commissars desired to do. It was telling that Ruhle, a moderate amongst Communists, was doing nothing to slow events. Instead, he listened as Kashina put forward the measures she wanted to be pushed into effect by the government.

“First, we must ban the Union of Yaroslavian Patriots and all similar organisations. Arrests must be conducted of the worst offenders. We should also set up monitoring of former Imperialists of note. The National Party of Yaroslavl does not seem to be an immediate threat, yet monitoring them is an advisable move....”

As Tatyana Kashina continued to elaborate on the measures she wanted, some of the Commissars were wondering about their ability to put these measures into effect. Yet there was no reason to worry. The bulk of the populace had been won over by the improvements to their quality of life and security over what they had during the Imperial era. The measures, after all were not as bad as they had been under the monarchy. But it still was an attack on Yaroslavian democracy. Through Communist fear and the preference of the populace for the securities they had, Yaroslavian democracy was moving to destroy itself.

National Party of Yaroslavl Headquarters, Minsk

“Why the fuck did those morons fire on OMON troops? How did they even have the weapons to fight evenly with OMON troops in the first place? Who the hell organised that suicide attack?”

Again, Taras Semichayevsky, the head of the NPY cried out the questions that were now tormenting the mind of every member of the party leadership. The NYP had established itself as a respected opposition party, a hard task in a country where the phrase right wing brought forth images of a backward aristocracy and priesthood, beating disagreement out of anyone who dared to show it with a stick. It had been ready for the challenges ahead, and then new hurdles had been placed in it's path. Now, everything seemed a lot less certain and he felt much less confident

“To the devil with the person behind this! The Communists will never believe we had no part in this. They are bound to become a lot less tolerant and peaceful avenues to power will be denied to us”.

He was still muttering curses when the message from the Foreign Committee of Libetarian Republics. At any other time before now, he would have not even replied to it. Yet his fortunes had taken a turn for the worse. Now, his response was to work on a response.

Friends

Your offer of aid in our future struggle against Bolshevism is appreciated. Now, let me explain things for you.

Our desire is to achieve the creation of a government fully representative of the will of the Yaroslavian people and that will restore its sacred traditions. We also desire compensation for those who had property stolen from them by socialist bandits during the civil war. Lastly, we desire the freeing up of the economy to allow true freedom via economic empowerment of the people.

Things are bound to develop for the worst. If you care about freedom, I am sure you will act fast to supply us with aid in a manner that is appropriate for the needs of secrecy.

Sincerely,
Taras Semichayevsky,,

Proclamation Regarding Events in Yaroslavl
Addressed to the Government of Yaroslavl
From Glorious Leader Shi Tei-Peng

Steward of the Revolution, Beloved Leader of the People's Republic, Defender of Socialism and Liaoism in Asia, and Supreme Commander of the Glorious People's Army of Revolution
The Glorious People's Republic of Comorostan regards with dismay the recent events in the Federal Socialist Republic of Yaroslavl. The people of Comorostan extend their sympathies and condolences to all those wounded and the families of those killed by the cowardly actions of reactionary terrorists. Comorostan has also suffered the assaults of gangster-capitalists hiding behind the veneer of popular insurgency and it is with great sadness that we see a fellow socialist state experience these dreadful events.

The GPRC extends a hand of cooperation to the FSRY. We are prepared to offer financial or other economic assistance, lend Comorostani intelligence-gathering units to support and augment Yaroslavian capabilities, elements of our civil or political security units with experience in such matters to provide assistance in combating the terrorists, and any other aid which is requested of us.

In addition, should the government request it the Glorious People's Republic will also endeavor to root out any treasonous elements hiding among Yaroslavian populations within Comorostan itself.

OOC: Sounds good to me

Serovskaya, Yaroslavl
The Comorostani plane touched down at the Yaroslavian airport, the normally white sun blood-red to identify the aircraft as property of the Glorious People's Republic. Comrade Lieutenant Chou Tehn looked out the window, scrutinizing the city as the plane descended. He knew the Yaroslavians had first gone through a period of reactionary rule, but it had likely been different than the Comorostani experience of inept emperors and kings. Comorostan had only truly entered the modern age under communist rule, deviating from the path set down by Marx, but such was the nature of life.

As he stood to exit the plane, he nodded to the other members of the Zuzhi unit. Comorostan's political police, they were experienced in battling urban guerrillas and other threats to the revolution. Tehn himself had played a key role in crushing the last outbreak of Haruhiism, a splinter religion in the south which ran very counter to revolutionary though. It was valuable work, but he preferred to be fighting reactionaries, not deluded peasants. Thus his assignment to this operation. He didn't have many men--two dozen in total, and only sixteen of those were shooters--but they were dedicated to the cause, and Tehn knew that they were leagues above whatever this "Union of Patriotic Forces" could muster to challenge them.

Tehn stepped down the stairs, looking for the greeting committee. He expected someone of high rank, probably a fellow policeman, but a bureaucrat was just as likely.

Now that the the Central Committee had decided against the continued legitimacy of the Union of Yaroslavian Patriots, OMON forces were positioning themselves to strike. With the size of the Yaroslavian state, even being a relatively small political party requires a significant amount of support structure. OMON needed to take out all of it at once, to avoid any of the party members taking resources and going into hiding. Also, the National Party of Yaroslavl had aides with many UYP offices to help the two parties co-ordinate. Snatching these figures and accusing them of being allied with the UYP would be a boon for the Communist government.

The Central Committee had not so far outlawed the UYP, but it had passed through emergency measures through the Supreme Soviet that were enough that their leader, Boris Alliluyev, knew that the KGB was likely working on a case to arrest them all and ban the UYP forever. He was quite right in this, even if he had no proof to act upon.

The Comorostani Zuzhi unit would be part of that and the Yaroslavians had planned to move in to action shortly after the Comorostani arrived. So, Chou Tehn was not to be greeted by a OMON officer and a KGB Colonel, with a number of OMON troops surrounding them.

The OMON officer, recognisable as belonging to that organisation by his black beret, promptly saluted Tehn.

“Greetings Lieutenant. I am Captain Kirill Zvyagin, Special Purpose Militsiya Unit.

Your unit is to be assigned to my company. We are soon to deploy to Vladimir, one of Yaroslavl's major cities, via train. We will be taking the local Union of Yaroslavian Patriots headquarters, as part of a general effort to arrest these reactionary traitors. Buildings in the local area will also be searched.

But that is not your concern. Your task is to secure the building, detain personnel and seize their computers and files. Them being able to destroy their files is something we want to prevent, as they are potentially a very useful source of data. Given the first incident and the fact that they will know there is a good chance of us moving in as we are, there is a good likelihood of armed combatants. My superiors would prefer to minimise overall casualties and get as many prisoners as possible for intelligence. At the same time, they have informed me that, if higher levels of casualties occur, they will understand and that they will keep the press from being a problem”.

The Imbrinium Intelligence Agency (IIA) had been monitoring the happenings in Osea. Plans have been in place for months and where being carried out in secret. These plans where to aid those who oppose the government in Osea. The Crown signed off on this secret plan and it has taken months to put those plans into place. Off the coast of Osea there’s a fishing fleet of about a half dozen ships two of those ships belong to the IIA and fish like the rest but are loaded with weapons not just any weapons but high tech weapons and anti-aircraft missiles and anti-tank missiles. These weapons will come in handy later in the conflict.

The night was still and the stars where full in the sky as the two fishing ships where motion less in the ocean. Carefully the crews loaded the ridged boats with weapons crates. The small boats would run to the shore and drop off the weapons to the buyers and race back till the job was done. It took six times to unload the shipment all free of charge thanks to the IAA and the Crown.

OOC: Sorry so short got caught up in some RL war shit here, the next few I'll get more into the story behind things and persons involved.

Lieutenant Tehn returned the salute, a crisp and almost machine-like action that spoke of dedication and good training. The other members of his group kept themselves as parade rest, hands clasped behind their backs, silent but regarding their Yarslavian counterparts with measured respect. Zuzhi units had done cross-training with OMON since the GPRC had joined the International, and while Tehn's unit specifically hadn't they'd all heard stories, enough to mean the usual from-on-high attitude displayed by the troopers was noticeably absent.

"I understand completely, comrade." Tehn's expression was hard, a man already committed to the task put to him. He wasn't the most imaginative officer the Zuzhi had, or the most innovative, but he was a human RPG--aimed properly, he was utterly devastating.

"We have brought our own personal weapons, AKS-74U carbines, but if you have others more suited to the task then we will use those. Our nations share a large percentage of hardware, so any difficulties in equipment should be minor. As for the mission, we will carry it out with excellence. I have complete faith in my team. We will bring you those files, and as many of the reactionaries as possible. What knowledge do we have of the layout of the building, and of the likely number of armed resistors?"

“The building is of relatively modern design and construction, with three floors” Zvyagin replied. “The ground floor mainly contains rooms intended for meeting guests and holding gatherings, though there are a few offices. The important ones though are on the first and second floor. So is the office of the regional leader. The ground floor will likely have no one with arms that cannot be easily concealed because of its role, only pistols and not many of them. We cannot say the same for the other floors, as these do not have the problem of members of the public, which means heavier weapons can be stored. We'll be dealing with AKMs, Mosin-Nagants and other weapons in that area.

“We will be dropped off a few blocks away and will approach the building on foot. We do not want them knowing we are there until we have made our entry. We should have the element of surprise, which should allow us to deal with those on the ground floor quickly. The combatants will be wearing civilian dress, obviously. We believe there are some with some combat experience and our policy of universal conscription means there will more with practical knowledge, though we expect most of them will have become a bit rusty. There are about 93 UYP members. Though we don't know how many will be armed, it is likely the number of experienced fighters will only make a small percentage of these will have experience to any degree.

We will breach through the main entrance on the street, moving to it via the side streets and through a number of side doors. Your unit will, as we move towards the main entrance, be positioned at the main side entrance to the right of the building. Your initial task will be to secure the main staircase to the first floor while the ground floor is being secured by the rest of my force. Then you will join the force in completing the main task.

You will have two squads of OMON troops supporting you, with your team taking point. It is likely with the current situation that they have realised a raid is a possibility and will know that time will be needed for them to get those on the first and second floors ready and for those same people to get to work on destroying their files. Therefore, we are certain there will be a number of combatants at the stairs, though we are sure you can take them by surprise. Once we have dealt the first blow to the reactionaries, we intend to deploy additional troops via helicopter”.

UYP Local Headquarters, Vladimir

The Zuzhi unit was quickly rushed to Vladimir via train and then moved to the area of the target, as Zvyagin had told Tehn. From there, the company of two hundred OMON troops spread through the area. Over half were allocated to the assault of the UYP building, with the other units being left near targets along the way. These targets would be raided at the same time as the UYP building.

Soon after making their way through a number of winding alleys and side streets, detaining anyone who had the misfortune of being on those paths at the same time as them, they arrived at their target. Four squads positioned themselves at the front entrance and breached it with much in terms of shock and awe, with flash-bangs naturally being used. The people at the entrance didn't have enough time to take in the front doors being smashed open and the sudden deafening noise of the flash bangs and found themselves knocked to the floor before they realised they were under attack.

The OMON only attacks on the side entrances were, for the most part, bloodless events. A few individuals tried to resist, which in a number of occasions had them promptly shot, though many were just injured. The security units quickly rushed through the ground floor, with much door breaching and use of flash bangs and smoke grenades. Most of the UYP members and their hired staff at this level were dealt with in a quick manner that, while brutal and often involving being hit by the but of an AN-125 assault rifle or the barrel of a SMG, left them alive.

Now the OMON troops moved to the stairs. They had been relatively successful so far, but the hard part was still ahead. They had been quick in dealing with the ground floor, but the UYP members on the first and second floor still would have had time to bring out at least some of their weapons. There would be some bloodshed, but the OMON troops were ordered to do all they can to keep it to a minimum. That would be difficult though.

The people at the entrance didn't have enough time to take in the front doors being smashed open and the sudden deafening noise of the flash bangs and found themselves knocked to the floor before they realised they were under attack.

"Qiánjìn!" Tehn shouted, urging his men forward in Comoro as the Zhuzi troopers breached the front doors. He repeated himself in Russian for the OMON teams that followed them unto the breach, spreading through the lobby to cover all areas. AKS-74U carbines were up and moving, training on any and every movement as the troopers carved through the resistance.

With a swing of his carbine's butt and a short vicious crack, Tehn sent a desk clerk sprawling the floor, unconsciousness. He didn't give the reactionary a second thought; the Yarslavians would doubtless have medical teams following behind the assault force to stabilize prisoners. His concern was fulfilling the mission.

"Lobby clear," Tehn reported over the clearing smoke of flash-bangs and the gradual silence of the end of fighting for the entrance. In Comoro, he directed his team to the staircase. "Take the stairs."

A simple command, but it was all they needed. Zhuzi units operated with a level of individual initiative that would be strongly discouraged by most other military or political units in the Glorious People's Republic, but it paid off immensely as the Comorostanis rushed towards the stairs, weapons ready to be used. Forming two columns, each taking a side of the stairs and leaving the center clear, the Zhuzi advanced. At Tehn's command, the two lead troopers hurled flash-bang grenades upwards, their timers detonating them as they were still in the air just outside the stairwell. The troopers' eye and ear protection kept them from suffering as much as their opponents likely did.

Moving forward at a quickened pace to get as far forward before the reactionaries recovered their senses, Tehn and his men charged up the stairs and onto the first floor of the building.

UYP Local Headquarters, Vladimir

The OMON troops now moved cautiously up the main staircase. With a few commands, troops are sent down left and right passageways that went around to rooms at either side of those connected by the main central route. At the same time, some troops move forward to serve point duty. Soon next to a double door, troops position themselves to breach the door and storm the rest of the building. With a battering of the doors and a salvo of smoke grenades and flash-bangs, combined with a liberal use of ammunition from the troops positioned to fire the instant the doors were forced open, the troops rushed forward.

They were greeted with an instant response of AKs and pistol fire emanating from behind a number of desks that had been repositioned to form a barricade. The troops quickly moved either to available office furniture that could be used for cover. Most made it without being hit. Naturally, that sentence requires someone to have been hit. The two people who had it applies to had different outcomes from the enemy fire. One got hit in the arm and side and was dragged back out the the enemy line of fire. This individual did not complain, though he really desired to. He was in a lot of pain, but knew that it was better just to keep the noise to a minimum The other individual would have been much more justified in moaning, if it had still been possible. Yet it was not, as usually is the case when a 7.62 mm round hits you in straight in your head and kills you before you've hit the ground.

The OMON troops were professional and generally had some degree of experience, which helped the greatly. The troops quickly moved to attack, throwing move flash-bands and storming each area of the central room, taking advantage of the enemies inexperience and lack of training. While some were very brave and more fighters were brought down from the top floor, that really is not enough when disoriented by flash-bangs and with OMON troops moving forward quickly.

Eventually, as the bodies piled up, the UYP members lost the will to fight and threw down their weapons. Initially, they had been willing to fight in the hope of taking some of the enemy with the. But, as the fight progressed, they saw they were having little success in that. So they decided that enough was enough. With that sorted out, the MON troops moved out to secure the rest of the building and the vital files. Resistance by the enemy had been broken, so they would be able to do that quickly enough. As his troops finished their mission, Zvyagin went off to find Tehn and check up on his unit.

OOC: More will be added later.

Official Communiqué From
The Federal Socialist Republic of Yaroslavl

Message Encryption Level: 5

To: The Right Honourable Farla Venn, Minister of Diplomacy
From: The Council of People's Commissariat
Subject: Your request for information
Date: 22/03/2012 AD

Greetings

We are currently dealing with right-wing reactionaries, who are either trying to overthrow the legitimate workers government. We suspect they will install a right-wing dictatorship, under the presence of it being the will of the Yaroslavian people, as the progress we have made would make in hard for them to restore the old monarchy and its absolute rule.

Our government has been one installed by the right of revolution, with the support of the people in defeating the Emperor and his loyalist armies. Yet you need not fear, for we are a people with just values. If you hold to democratic values and respect our rights and those of other socialists, who are our natural friends and thus matter to us, then friendship is possible.

Sincerely,
Eric Ruhle,
Premier of the Federal Socialist Republic of Yaroslavl,
Chairman of the Central Committee of the CPY

Minsk City Centre, Belarusian Autonomous Republic, FSRY

Soon, the news of what was happening hit the streets of Yaroslavl. Reports of the new emergency legislation and the banning of the Union of Yaroslavian Patriots was soon being discussed in social gatherings and online. Soon, the government moved against the sites, but this did not stop the gossip. In any case, there were much more serious things to worry about than what people were chattering about online.

After several hours, crowds were gathering. Not only were they occurring in Minsk, but also in other cities across Yaroslavl. Even Constantinopolis, the old city of the Emperors, has some crowds gather. But Minsk held the centre stage. After all, this city held the headquarters of the National Party of Yaroslavl. Through that, the city effectively was the heart of Yaroslavian right-wing nationalism. The supporters of that ideology were quick to move out, though the placards were crude and many were limited to shouting out slogans in terms of methods of expressing themselves.

Soon the police moved in. At first, things were peaceful. But the crowd grew more angry and larger in size, which unsurprisingly unnerved the Militsiya. It was a sticking bomb and, in hindsight, no one was surprised when looking back on it that it went off. Parts of the crowd in Minsk city centre were in an aggressive mood. In one area, an officer pulled out his pistol and ordered the parts of the crowd near him to back off. This was successful, but the officer was in an unsettled mood. When one of the protesters seemed to move in a way that, in mind of the officer, suggested that they were reaching for a weapon, the officer fired right into the torso of that poor man, knocking him straight down and leaving him with a fatal injury. Given what was about to happen, the individual was going to get no aid and would be left to die slowly on the ground as his blood slowly poured out of his body.

The crowd was briefly stunned from the sound of the shot. But, as they saw one of their own lying on the ground, its members were filled with rage and a desire for bloody revenge. In an instant, the nature of the crowd changed. It surged forward, in an attempt to overrun the Militsiya. The Yaroslavian police officers were shocked at first, with some of their number receiving violent beatings by members of the furious crowd. But this did not last long. The police counter-attacked, with a variety of riot control weapons, though pistols were occasionally used. When armoured vans and trucks with water hoses arrived on the scene, the members of the crowd realised this battle was lost. They retreated and the Militsiya arrested those left behind and tended to those in their ranks who were injured.

They had won, but they would soon be facing a much better armed force, thanks to an event that was occurring at the same time as they were sorting out the aftermath of this first clash.

Unknown Location, FSRY

As soon as the news of the fight was received, members of the police were sent to apprehend Taras Semichayevsky. But they could not find him. They looked at all the places he could be, but there was no sign of him anywhere. Semichayevsky had known that there was a chance the government might move against him and his party at some point. When the news of the arrest of UYP members along with the enabling of the emergency measures was received by agents of the NPY, they quickly warned him and he had soon absconded to a hideout he had prepared should a situation develop requiring it.

From this place, he sent out a message to the Yaroslavian people, one he had never before dreamed of sending.

Comrades, friends and loyal citizens, I ask you at this moment to lend me your ears.

The Bolshevist regime has shown us its true face. It is one that all men of decent heart should find utterly repulsive and vile. Its inherent wickedness is becoming quite obvious. Soon, I am sure, they will move against all their enemies. Love of Yaroslavl, of freedom and of the true faith will be replaced with love of tyrants like Stalin, for their Communist party and for the “enlightened” rule of our big brother. We will be asked to give up our lives and our traditional rights in order for them to make their attempt at an unachievable goal.

Now it the time to show these monsters what Yaroslavians are really like. Let us show them that they will never crush us. We will defend ourselves from socialist tyranny and bring forth a truly Yaroslavian government, one that stands for what Yaroslavl really is, rather than the false and utterly artificial Yaroslavl they see to create. Now we must rise up, brave Yaroslavians. Rise up and fight today, my friends, for this is the time our nation needs us most, when it most requires us to give up our lives for it and to show how much we love our motherland, our mother Yaroslavl. Now is the time for us liberate our nation, my dear Yaroslavians!

I trust you to do what needs to be done. For you, like myself, are Yaroslavian. Like our honoured ancestors and like the eastern Romans, from whom we have inherited much, we will stand and fight with honour and we will emerge victorious. Let us act now and I hope that I will get the chance to speak to you all again once we again live in our own land, our own Yaroslavl.

From the desk of Taras Semichayevsky,
General Secretary of the National Party of Yaroslavl

As this message travelled through Yaroslavl, Communist officials tried to block its way. They managed success in some areas, but it still reached the ears of many nationalists. And, as Semichayevsky asked, they responded. Soon, new mobs was forming and it was a much scarier force. Those with weapons of their own, grabbed them. Some Militsiya members in areas with nationalist sentiments showed their true colours and joined locals mobs, helping them in accessing local weapon stockpiles, created in case Yaroslavian cities had to defend themselves once more from foreign invaders.

Loyalists too moved to stockpiles, and some were gained by these loyalists before the nationalists could get to them. Along with possession of guns by some loyalists, those loyal to the regime had some ability to protect themselves. The heavier weapons given to certain nationalists by the Imbrinium Intelligence Agency meant that the nationalists were in a good position regardless. The Militsiya soon moved forward armed units and sent out a call for support from internal troop units.

As the Militsiya and the nationalist mobs in the cities and districts sympathetic to the nationalist cause moved to engage each other, neither side realised the level of violence they were about to bring to the streets of cities like Minsk. For now, Serovskaya was peaceful. But that was not much of a consolation for the unlucky Militsiya officers now charged with dealing with the mobs now setting fire to buildings and shooting any communist that had the misfortune of getting in the line of sight of a nationalist and his rifle.

While Vasgarten is by no means a socialist nation, we are much more supportive of the left than the right. As such, Vasgarten will aid you in any way possible to apprehend this Taras Semichayevsky. Vasgarten, as an isolationist and neutral nation, has several criminals pass through our borders yearly. We have placed all customs offices on high alert to look out for anyone fitting Taras Semichayevsky's image. With your permission, we can deploy a counter-intelligence unit to your nation to aid in the crackdown and a company of 150 troops from our IRIS security division.

UYP Headquarters, Vladimir
Tehn and his unit were grouped together toward the opposite end of the floor, near where the local UYP leadership had made a bit of a desperate last stand. Two men and a woman were lying dead outside the office that had been re-purposed as their debriefing room, a pair of AK-47s and an older SKS carbine lying near their corpses where they had been dropped.

Inside were more corpses, not all of the them UYP. Three Zuzhi troopers had been killed, mostly in the initial assault when the ferocity of the resistance of the reactionaries had caught them unprepared. But after the initial shock the men had rallied and stormed forward to the main room, where they had barely stopped the local UYP party chief from setting a stack of file folders alight. The party leader was lying on the ground, a pair of bullet holes in his chest that clearly were from being shot in the back and another three wounds that had clearly been fired at close range, execution style. Blood ran down his face from the headshot that had been inflicted.

"Captain Zvyagin," Tehn said as the OMON man entered. "I regret to report that the party chief did not survive the assault. The files, however, did." He indicated the file folders on the table. "I have heard that there is new trouble brewing elsewhere. Where are we deploying next?"

Reports streamed in daily on the actions going on in Osea. The head of the GD sector of the IAA had issued an order to setup a task force to stay on top of the ongoing crisis. Nationalist inside Osea where sending intelligence out to the IAA and in return the IAA was preparing plans to send more weapons and even a unit form the Special activities division, special operations group or SADSOG. These units where trained in both insurgency and counter-insurgency operations as well a mix bag of other missions.

The Crown and the PM also read daily reports concerning the crisis in Osea. The Crown was concerned that the actions could lead to whole sale killing of civilians for not any other reason besides someone heard they didn’t like the government.

“Have the press room ready by 1700 I want to speak to the nation and the region”

“Yes sir”

Later that afternoon after meetings with top military and civil advisers the King was ready to address the Nation and the region.
The press room was packed with reporters all wondering what was happening, most had no idea the nation was even concerned about Osea and there had been very little news on the crisis.

A suited man spoke

“A rise to honor King Sobairce!”

The press room responded “Long lives the King”

“Ladies and gentlemen of the press from the Crown and the region, for weeks the Crown has been monitoring the actions in Osea, and these actions are from a curl and uncaring government there is murders of civilians who do not see things the way the government of Osea sees them. Yes we here have our own people who want a different government but we would down hunt them down and kill them in the streets and in their homes. So as a kingdom we must do the honorable thing and help those who cannot help themselves by either means or a way. Orders have been issued to the military and a naval Task Force will be sent to Osea as a show of force to stand down from killing your people can talk or actions will be taken so you will do so. After talks with top advisers today this was the only option to take, the parties of Osea want to talk and want peace but the government in power only wants power over the people to do with what they want. Prayers should go out from the people of Osea along with our soldiers who will defend them. Thank you and gods speed."

The King stepped away from the podium and walked back through the doors to the castle.

Meanwhile orders where being sent out to two fleets and a number of special fleets. The GD patrol fleets rushed from their patrol sectors inside the western region to Osea.

Below the oceans SSKs and SSNs received their orders to patrol the waters off of Osea. The Crown’s military ordered all units to a higher state of alert to all units in the region and the world.
When I was young I used to pray for a bike, then I realized that God doesn't work that way, so I stole a bike and prayed for forgiveness.
"Deus vult" is Latin for "God wills it" and it was the cry of the people at the declaration of the First Crusade by Pope Urban II at the Council of Clermont in 1095.

Official Communiqué From
The Federal Socialist Republic of Yaroslavl

Message Encryption Level: 5

To: Alexander Halfar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Confederacy of Vasgarte
From: The Council of People's Commissariat
Subject: Your Offer of Aid
Date: 31/03/2012 AD

Greetings

We appreciate your offer and accept it. You are truely a civilised people, with good morales, and I hope our people may become friends. With that said, I have ordered a base be prepared for the arrival of your IRIS security division.

Again, you have our thanks.

Sincerely,
Eric Ruhle,
Premier of the Federal Socialist Republic of Yaroslavl,
Chairman of the Central Committee of the CPY

Supreme Soviet, Serovskaya,
Federal Socialist Republic of Yaroslavl

This great legislature again had assembled. The right wing parties had not made up that much of part of the legislature, but they were large enough in their representation that their absence was noticed by all. With the ban of the Union of Yaroslavian Patriots and with the National Party of Yaroslavl now no longer present, a advisable decision once Taras Semichayevsky issued his declaration for a nationalist revolution and for the restoration of what he deemed the traditional rights and for what he considered to be true Yaroslavian values.

It was hard to make the reversion to the past palpable. Semichayevsky had tried by instead making an appeal to tradition. But drawing on that tradition also alienated many Yaroslavians and so it had gained him few additional supporters in comparison to what he would have had if he had just came out and stated what he really wanted. While Semichayevsky had charisma and the facts of the recent actions against the right, he had to work against the terrorist attacks and the fact that there was nowhere near enough nostalgia about the old system for him you use.

Even those that did not agree with his approach had wisely disappeared. After all, the tradition before that of the socialist republic was one of autocracy and strict adherence to the orthodox faith. The rebellion alone would make them may enemies: the rest made sure that even those sympathetic to the idea of rebellion would reject them.

But Eric Ruhle, Vladimir Isyanov and the rest of the CPY leadership could do what they intended without waiting for by-elections to fill the absent seats. After all, they were there not to put forward a proposal, but to make a declaration. Ruhle, flanked by two guards, moved to the podium.

“A great tragedy has struck our nation. We stand now, looking upon the events of the last three days in horror. In the three days since brave OMON troops moved to apprehend the members of the terrorist Union of Yaroslavian Patriots, we have experienced an escalation of violence which had turned into violent riots before the first day was out. In the second, these gangs seized armaments and, with aid from right wing traitors, have launched their uprising, as the traitor Semichayevsky commanded. Right now, as we sit here this afternoon, these monsters are doing all they can to institute a dictatorship of the right. After all, how else can they rule this state? Their will is that of a minority, one bend on dragging us away from our course and back to a era we rejected in the civil war.

As the National Party has abandoned democracy, we must do what we can to protect the state. Therefore, a state of emergency will be put into place. The threat posed by Semichayevsky, who now is receiving support from foreign powers who desire to destroy our republic, is too great. Let me tell you what the Imbrinium government has to say on our tragedy”.

Ruhle then held up a copy of King Sobairce's speech and selected a section to quote to his audience.

““... the parties of Osea want to talk and want peace but the government in power only wants power over the people to do with what they want”” Talk? Since when did use of the Kalshnikov and the molotov cocktail count as peaceful? Since when did calling for the overthrow of a democratic government and for all power to be given to them count as dialogue.

We all know what will come next, because we have experienced it before. Remember our civil war. When we rose up to overthrow tyranny, our allies moved in to crush us and to restore the power of the Holy Emperor. We have less of a connection with Imbrinium and less reason to assume they will not intervene to aide their own interests while claiming their actions to be done for our good. Even now, they are surely moving the overthrow our republic. But I will not allow them. I will not allow a violent mob and their foreign backers to overthrow our workers state. The internal troops will handle the reactionaries. I have faith in them and their loyalty to the people and the state that represents them.

I will do what I can to sort out the situation and the rest of the government will surely do the same. I hope these days will soon be over and the state of emergency will be something I can end quickly. The lives of our citizens matter to us and I can assure you on behalf on the entire Council of People's Commissariats that we are doing all we can to save our people from the reactionaries.

I shall end this with some advice for any foreign powers considering the idea of aiding the National Party of Yaroslavl. We are a proud and free people. No matter what you do, you will never crush the Yaroslavian people. This situation will be resolved by Yaroslavians and anyone thinking otherwise should reconsider their opinion before there are unfortunate consequences”.

Minsk City Centre, Belarusian Autonomous Republic,
Federal Socialist Republic of Yaroslavl

The sky over Minsk was tainted with the smoke from the all consuming flames.

As Ruhle was enacting the state of emergency, soldiers of the Militsiya and the nationalist rebels continued their fight in the districts of this old city. Many areas had raging fires as the result of the use of Molotov cocktails by the rebels. The streets were in many areas battered by violence. Both sides were ruthless in the way they fought each other. Civilians were desperate to avoid the combatants. The Militsiya would shoot you if they thought you were a rebel and the rebels would shoot you if they though you were either a communist, left wing or sometime if you were generally not supportive enough of the nationalist cause in the case of some of the nationalist groups. The Militsiya had some light armoured vehicles along with heavy infantry weapons, which gave them a decent degree of fire power. But the rebels not only had Kalashnikovs and RPGs, but also a mixture of other weapons stolen from supply depots by rebellious members of the Militsiya.

Now, on the afternoon of the third day since the situation in Minsk turned to violence and the streets were filled with the sound of gunfire, internal troops were finishing off the last of their preparations. Soon, as the light of the morning sun rose up and shone upon Minsk, the artillery of internal troops would open up and they would engage the nationalists in battle. The internal troops were not armed to the degree of the average army division, but they did not need to be. Their armour, artillery and the support they would receive from the Federal Yaroslavian Air Force would win the day for them. Minsk, already a city with many of its streets soaked in blood, would then loose many more of its children. But that was the price that the Commissariat for Internal Affairs deemed necessary.

Tehn and his men were soon called in. Captain Zvyagin had been happy with their work, despite the death of the local party chief, and the Yaroslavians felt that the Zuzhi unit would of more use in Minsk than in Vladimir. While there were incidents as the Zuzhi unit was moving on to Minsk, the local OMON forces could handle them. There was violence in a few districts of Constantinopolis and in some towns and rural areas. But Minsk was much more important, due to the scale of the violence.

The mission that Tehn and his men was given by the Yaroslavian commander in the area, General , was simple. The city had a number of areas under limited control by Militsiya troops or were zones of combat. The Zuzhi unit was to aide OMON in dealing with pockets of resistance in the areas under limited control. They were to be inserted as night fell upon the city. Tehn would be free to use whatever means he deemed necessary to deal with the reactionaries.

Greetings brave comrades, to those who stand at the vanguard of the revolution and at the vanguard of the people's will. The actions of the nationalist scum have caught the attention of Premier Georgy Konev, who has virulently condemned their actions, and wishes to assist the FSR in ridding itself of the nationalists. The People's Socialist Republic is prepared to offer assistance to the FSR through the loan of several units of the People's Military Force for Revolutionary Protection. These units are very experienced in dealing with those who oppose the ideals of the revolution, and have no problem in dealing with the nationalists as they should be dealt with. Long live the revolution comrades, and remember, not one step backwards!
