Pale blue gas lamps glow in the street outside. It seems unnaturally dark and the moon seems large -- closer than usual. You wonder if you should venture outside when you see a faded, tattered poster on the wall:

Welcome to Montnoir. You're about to embark on a journey that you may not survive. By joining this RP, you'll experience a strange, foreign world filled with horrors inspired by Lovecraft and Poe. Montnoir is a land of eternal night, where the sun never rises or sets, where you should rightly be afraid of the dark.
You'll get what you put into the story: if you try to "win the game," you'll most likely perish a foolish death... if you immerse yourself in the world, add to the story and work with other players, you'll find yourself at the treasure before you know it.
Weapons are limited to RL weapons from 1850-1945. You are limited to what you can reasonably carry on your person.
