Global Defense Initiative 2.0 (PMT-Non-FTL FT)

Please note that this is GDi without Tiberium.

Welcome to the Global Defense Initiative, an organization formed to battle tyranny in all its forms by combining the armed forces of nations across the globe into one army. We have formed after looking back at our own nations past and remembering that we were once ruled by a tyrant ourselves, as all countries have at some point in time, even if they themselves don’t want to admit it. Our space station orbiting the planet, the USS Ages of Autumn, is the main meeting place for governments that have become full members and have sent men and woman to become pioneers of a new age and diplomats on there behalf.

The Below Charter's backbone was formed by Noders

To stand up against all forms of tyranny and oppression, wherever it may be, and to lead humanity into a greater future. To reach our goal of leading humanity into its glorious future as a species, we must unite into a unified and invincible force:

Article One: Terms of Admittance

All who wish to free people in the grasp of tyranny and oppression are welcome to join GDI, as are all whose minds are open to the glorious future that awaits mankind. All those who wish to join are to follow these terms:
- Each member-nation must recognize that they know the charter and accept it’s terms
- Each member-nation must see other member-nations as equals
- Each member-nation must go against oppression in all its forms
- Each member-nation is to support the group, whether economically or with a military is a choice

Article Two: The Army of GDI

Section one:
The GDI is a coalition of members and the military equipment they have donated to the cause

Section Two:
The GDI’s army is formed of forces nations have volunteered to fight on behalf of the group.

2.1. The senior officers and generals of this army shall be selected from each member-nation and shall be put into their positions by popular vote among the members of GDI’s Military Wing. The junior officers, NCOs, and soldiers of the army may be recruited from all member-nations.

Section Three:
The GDI’s army is to be partly maintained by funds from each of the member-nations, with the more prosperous nations providing more funds. The rest will come from trade between GDI members In a 2% tax.

Section Four:
Research and development for GDI shall be carried out by all member-nations, with the more technologically advanced nations sharing their technologies with their less advanced brothers for the further advancement of the human race into the future.

Section Five:
No one nation or group of nations shall dominate GDI’s army by installing their own generals, dominating the Military Wing, and other similar acts. The Army of GDI belongs to GDI as a whole, not to its individual members.

Section Six:
The Army of GDI will only be deployed in wars that will further the betterment of humankind, decision of whether or not to deploy the Army will be a joint vote by the members of GDI.

Article Four: The GDI Trade Agreement

GDI believes that mutual aid would bring prosperity to each of its member-nations without the said nations needing to embrace a system that is not their own.

Section One:
All member-nations of the GDI shall trade military and economic materiel with each other with no more than a 5% and no less than a 2% tariff on imports,

Section Two:
Any citizen of the member-nations of the Brotherhood is to be considered a citizen on all the member-nations, and shall be allowed to move freely among the member-nations with little regulation.

Section Three:
All the member-states of GDI shall provide aid to the member-states that are afflicted by all manner of calamities, natural or man-made.

Section Four:
All industries are to remain in control of the nation that brought them in unless they create joint control of their own free will. This means no powerful nations in the GDI can force a nation to give up control of an industry.

Section Five:
Embargos are not to be enforced between members as it may be because of ill relations one on one and not a crime against humanity.

Section Six:
All member-nations may or may not choose to join their brethren in offensive wars that are not related to GDI’s goals. However, all member-nations of any technological level are required to provide aid for their brethren in defensive wars or wars that will fulfill GDI’s goals

Section Seven:
All offensive wars waged by all member-nations will be investigated by GDI so that it can send aid to any member-nation's war should that member nation need any assistance.

Article Five: Statement of Fallibility

The drafters of this charter now acknowledge the limits of their wisdom and would acknowledge that this charter is open for amendments, changes, and improvements, but will not be open for such if the changes go against GDI’s principles.

When we lose one we love, our bitterest tears are called forth by the memory of hours when we loved not enough. - Maurice Maeterlinck

There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love. - Washington Irving

It is easy to hate and it is difficult to love. This is how the whole scheme of things works. All good things are difficult to achieve; and bad things are very easy to get. - Confucius
