This is INSANELY awesome. Nice job Mindset!

BTW, does the sphere of influence grow?

Also, we need one of these for MT, with all the confusion regarding maps...

The spheres of influence are fixed and are more a cosmetic effect than anything else.

Not on their own. But if you group systems together...

Some people may be confused by what one unit of coordinate it is. By my calculations it's about 104 light years per coordinate unit.

Again, great job!

In the map code it's 104.166667ly, so good job!

There seems to be a bug if you place systems too close to the side of the map. Try not to do this until I implement a fix.

You need to put the locations of classic Asimovian Systems in this (actually, I'll be doing that since my nations Provinces and Capitals are based on planets in Foundation.)

I'm only putting in my own systems. Everyone else can put in theirs.

Something to add to a possible update: The ability to label planets as either Population Centers, Capital Planets, Mining Worlds, Farm Worlds, etc. Also label planets that aren't inhabited, and also the ability to put population.

Impressive. Incredibly impressive. If there was such a thing as an NS wonders of the world/galaxy/universe/ect. then this would likely become of them in it's nigh finished state. =^^=

Edit: Someone sticky this now. This is too good not too already. (Could use a stress test anyway to see if it can handle the load of FTers this is 'going' to receive, I can assure ya all of that. =oo= )

I also support this effort, and applaud the Mindset for not only helping to unify the FT community, but for also helping revolutionize NS cartography as a whole. Just think what a modern tech interactive regional map would do to help regional nation do more than just 'flash in the pan' for map spots!

But, I do have a bit of a suggestion: Allow the collapse of the Nation list. In Chrome, in overlaps on the map and makes some systems (or clusters) unviewable.

In the RL Milky Way, there's a supermassive black hole at its very core. What would be the exact dead center of the galaxy in this coordinate space?

Yeeeeaaaaaaah, that might be the one thing that would have to be considered here. Nevermind the fact that any FT nation near the MW galactic core, would have a sky as bright as daylight, all but all of the time, depending on whether there's enough interstellar dust cloud material blocking all that star light from the central regions.

Might wana have any nation near the center, have to justify enough their being there, and/or demarcating where the MBH (Massive Black Hole) is on that very map. As long as the justification is good enough, I'm open enough have any nation in the galactic core regions. Might as well be someone trying to justify mining dark matter and dark energy as one of their mining industries or such. Not even sure plausabiliy applies in in NS FT at all, but this one might be of 'justification' consideration at the minor least. =^^=

Support for Binary Systems would be nice :P. Other than that, this is A1 perfect.

A few suggestions as a beta tester: it may also be useful to add support for float numbers as coordinates and when entering the system it may be good to start in the outermost zoom level of the system. Thanks!

Would it be possible to have some way to display only planets of a given nation? Otherwise the map can get confusing, FAST.

Actually when you go 'into' a star system after you put one in, you can then create planets in that system, when you see the yellow star that forms the center. Doing this from a galaxy viewpoint would be more cluttering 'there'.

Just look for Sol, and then click onto the Sol System point to go into the System itself, to see what I mean, if it's not clear.

On the point of inner System construction workings/placement, a couple of iotas to add would be for Planetoid/Oort Cloud Belts, And Starbase icons for complexes and such, not of Starship fleets and such. And yes, the ability to make Binary, or even Trinary stars in a system might be of merit as well. =^^= Kinda a bit 'plain' when I put down Fleets as Starbase complexes, since my System has huge complexes going on in my own system alone. I presume many of the other FT nations have the same iotas to them as well. =^^=

If your joining FT know this. The good guys are genocidal maniacs, the bad guys are warmongering genocidal mainiacs, and mass indiscriminate orbital bombardment is the standard means of warfare.
