POSTING AS FRANCE:

14 October 1809, Schönbrunn Palace, Vienna, Austrian Empire

It was the end of the Fifth Coalition. Austria had been crushed, Spain placed under French rule, and the rest of the Coalition left cowering. As a result of this "Schönbrunn" treaty, Austria recognized Napoleon's previous conquests from other nations as well as recognizing Napoleon's brother Joseph Bonaparte as King of Spain. Austria also paid to France a large indemnity and the Austrian army was reduced to a laughable 150,000 men. It was a great victory: the third victory for Napoleon. However, trouble still loomed. Britain stubbornly continued to wage war, Prussia was starting to think for itself, and Russia was building up its strength. Europe would be overflowing in war. Soon.

20th June 1812, Warsaw, Duchy of Warsaw

The Grand Armee marched east. In four days, they would be over the river Neman and in Russia proper. Tsar Alexander I must be forced into the Continental System: a blockade of all trade to England. The War of the Sixth Coalition had begun.

So Bonaparte was invading Russia. The man, standing solitary before windows of finery and splendor, pondered the news he had received previous. It was no secret. The mobilization of such an amount of forces on a border was hard to miss. Great Britain was perhaps the target of such an action. However, nothing was sure. The man waited.

OTTOMAN EMPIRE:

The Causcaus: the border between Turkey and Russia. The 3 Ortas of Peasant Levies, lead by a Janissary Regiment and a Unit of Siphahi maneuvered through mountain passes towards Russia. About 2 days behind them were the Ottoman Artillery pieces. The Advance Force would camp in Southern Russia, waiting for the Artillery to arrive, and then strike out at Russia.

Tsar Nicolas had sent 3 of the border guard battalions to engange, the turks. Along several hundred pieces of artillery. Nothing very powerful unfortunately for the gun commander. The rest of the armies were being formeed up to face the french. So this would have to be ended quickly. Bombard the turks to hell with the field guns and then charge uphill to sweep away the remmanants. A classic russian plan. It would be very helpful if a few of those british rockets were here. But oh well...

France:

The Grand Armee had camped for the night. Emperor Napoleon walked amongst the rows of tents and observed troops entertaining themselves over campfires. The Artillery was stowed away at the Quartermasters' Tents, and the horses were well fed. With this sort of might, there was no way they would lose, not to a bunch of Russian Peasants. Gazing over the camp one more time, the Emperor retired for the night.

Offer of Alliance: IMPORTANT Level A

Postby Old North Fish » Wed Nov 09, 2011 2:55 am

Following talks with Norway and Denmark, the Treaty of Kiel has secured the Scandinavian neighbours. We now offer a hand of alliance to any side. Our advantage is that we can secure Northern Europe through the sea, and have a semi-accessible route to Russia as well...

Additionally, we have an alright army now that Denmark and Norway have agreed to join forces.

Battle of the Caucasus

Postby The Grand Fourth Dominion » Wed Nov 09, 2011 3:00 am

Ottoman deployment:

A solid center of Janissaries, 150 men, with a right flank of 2 Units Peasant Levies and a left flank of a single unit of Peasant Levy, all numbering 200 each, with 150 Siphahi on the left flank as well.

Strategy:

Use the mountain pass to defend against flanking maneuvers and artillery strikes: force them into close quarters/ infantry skirmish.

Those damn, Scandinavians Nicholas shook with rage. He ordered his 29th, 30th and 40th Woodsmen Battalions to go and secure the Swedish ports that were obstructing his ships. His main army would take at least a week to gather, before they could march to meet the french. But the woodsmen were in the province of Finland so they could hopefully secure the ports by the next week....Acctually thought Nicholas. The Swedish were not to be underestimated...so ordering all the battalions from 31-39 to the Swedish front.

France was becoming more threatening. After the collapse of the Fifth Coalition, it now seemed as though Bonaparte was looking even further for his goals. Already Napoleon had marched on Russia with around 600 thousand, a mighty force. The French Emperor seemed to be acting on his goal of conquering all Europe. The Sixth Coalition, formed in secret, seemed to have to come out into the light, lest Europe be lost. Britain prepares for war. No harm done if precautions were unnecessary. The ships would have to be stocked, troops retrained and re-equipped, recruitment and conscription, many things were in order for a truly well oiled British Army to make an appearance. But still, they would wait. Britain would stay it's hand, but it was ready, and the new, expensive rifles were quite handy.

Okay to clear this up then - Sweden, Norway, Denmark are NOT on France's side. They are neither on GB's side. At the moment, Scandinavia is entirely NEUTRAL.

Britain was dismayed at this move by Norway. Had they forgotten the lesson learned after copenhagen? Even now, their boats harassed the warships of Britain, and they declared alliance to all who offered? What insolence! Britain has spoken. Russia, how do you respond to this threat on your borders?

EDIT:m Wait a sec. Through the sea? Have you forgotten that the seas of Europe are the dominions of Great Britain? You impede on our territory, Swede. We allow trade to you but fear the wrath of us when you attempt to attack our navies.

To Tsar Nick,
Stay your hand, Nicholas. The Swedes may prove invaluable allies in these uncertain times. They have indicated their alliance to the coalition. Denmark and Norway, however, have become arrogant. After Copenhagen they have begun attacking Britain in earnest. Recently several of our battleships were attacked. Know the true enemy, Nicholas. The Ottomans and Bonaparte present much more threatening targets than the Swedes. Focus.
Signed, Wellington Boots.

NOTICE: THIS IS NOT GODMOD AS THEY ARE EVENTS ALREADY OCCURRED BEFORE THE START DATE ACCORDING TO TRUE HISTORIES. SIMILARLY, THE COALITION WAS FORMED BEFORE THIS WAR STARTED AND AS SUCH IS SET UNLESS SWEDEN WANTS TO BREAK AN OATH. ALL EVENTS BEFORE START DATE COUNT AS SETTING AND WERE NOT GODMODDED IN

EDIT: Actually, according to the setting, an alliance for the sixth coalition has already been formed by Sweden, Britain and Russia before the start date and is therefor not to be 'played out'. You can, however, betray us. Bad idea, cause even France won't want you then.

1 Regiment -
• 1 Company - Shock troops
• 1 Company - Skirmish and Horse archers

ARTILLERY:
3 Regiments - Foot Artillery
• 90 Cannons each regiment
• 30 Mortars each regiment

1 Regiment - Mounted/Horsedrawn Artillery
• 60 Cannons each regiment
• 20 Mortars each regiment

MEDICAL + INTELLIGENCE:

The Americans had declared war on Britain several days ago. At first, the British had been relatively unconcerned; their maritime forces were enough to hold the American forces at bay. However, with the situation in Europe becoming tense, now Britain had to divide it's attention to two wars. Canada was not in the safe position Britain was, and the few thousand troops stationed in the territories of Canada were threatened by the American expansionism. The Canadians would have to maintain a defensive position until the more important situation in Europe was resolved.

Gibraltar was precious. A foothold on the continent. But it was not enough. Britain needed more. The small territory was threatened by Spanish forces who were strong in the area. The war over the Iberian peninsula still raged. With the capturing of Burgos that May previous, now the British forces pushed to outflank the forces of Joseph Bonaparte. The loss of his brother might demoralize Napoleon. If it worked.

Strategy: Ships are sent to Gibraltar with troops to reinforce the area and the present British forces continue the push. Next move is to take Santander
EDIT: Sweden, the act is done. Consider the pact sealed proper.

Also, an appropriate piece of epic game music to listen to while the battles rage should be chosen. For the first battle, i nominate Emiya. Search up Emiya from F/sn OST.

In what seemed like an outlandish idea, some of our infantrymen have been mobilised and ordered to take The Batavian Republic, remarkably close to the French Empire, If not in it.

Strategy:

##
Swedish troops will take Batavia's northeast will Norwegian troops take the direct north. Btw Denmark is no longer on Sweden's side. It has just secured a friendship with the enemy, Spain.

Denmark mobilised its somewhat smallish skirmishing army and marched eastward to assist the French in the invasion of Russia.

And, Sweden, we have an even better map!!!

For now, the Ottomans waited, readying their hearts and guns.

March to the Low Countries

The National Guard have been called up to service, and together with small detachments of Regular troops and Artillery, will march into Holland. (OOC Note: Batavia was replaced by the Kingdom of Holland! FIX!)

Strategy: Defeat Swedish Forces, then march through Denmark, gathering Danish troops as support, then destroy Sweden.

23rd June 1812, Duchy of Warsaw, Eastern Border

La Grande Armee was almost across the border to Russia. Numbering 600,000 men strong and with spirits high with recent victories, everyone was sure that the conquest of Russia would be simple. Tommorrow, the Armee would would the river Neman, and start the Invasion of Russia....

The field guns pounded relentlessly against the mountain pass. Hundreds of Cannon balls smashed against the rock. We need those damn british rockets thought the artillery commander. The bombardment had been halted by the Commander Tolstoy. The dragoons were heading off to skirmish with the ottoman troops.

The prussian 1st and 3rd Armies were leading their ships against Denmark. This betrayl of sweden would be avenged. The 2nd, 4th and 5th armies would sail afterwards to aid a push of towards Copenhagen.

Stratergy: The vanguard of the prussian force would hope to take a danish port and land troops pushing to Copenhagen while the expected British and Swedish support would crush the Danes in a pincer movement.

The Dragoons fired their wheel lock carbines ignoring the peasants who were attempting to fire on them and instead shooting at the small force of siphahi hoping to goad a charge from them and if possible the janisarries. With the elites defeated the pass should fall to an overwhelming force of Russian Infantry.

The Janissaries opened fire, and a deadly crossfire of lead hailed the Dragoons who were shooting at the Siphahi. At this range, however, both side's guns were ineffective and many missed. However, 5 Siphahi fell, hit by bullets from the Dragoons. Enraged, the prideful lancers charged.
