Assassination of an Ambassador

We recently sent an ambassador to the country of Akela-Victoire. He went there with no guards, due to a request by the Akelan government. He arrived at the airport and, as he was entering his limo to take him to his hotel, he was shot by unseen snipers. We want to make it clear that we have had "rough" political relations with Akela-Victoire in the past, but this has gone far enough. We also want to state that although it is not definitive, we suspect that this hitmen(s) was hired or approved by the Akelan government. We make these accusations based on the fact that they instructed our ambassador to arrive without guards.We also sent our ambassador to Akela-Victoire to improve diplomatic relations in the first place. We will NOT declare war until we hear some other nation's input about our situation and what they would do.

I'd like to remind you that your country doesn't have the right to declare war as agreed on by the Treaty of Belize. However, if Ganos Lao, Premislyd and I agree, and you provide significant evidence of Akelan involvement, the term will be temporarily revoked. We encourage you to send another diplomat to their country in order to discuss their alleged involvement in the assassination. If it can be proven that they were involved, they will meet the full force of justice, as assassinating a foreign diplomat is a violation of international law and out of the boundaries of normal human behavior.

Until then, we encourage you to remain courteous and peaceful with all your diplomatic relationships.

Elcastria, I respect your pledge to support us, but I would just like my nation and only my nation to be involved in the actual war (if it takes place). I hope that you realize the importance of this situation and allow us to continue with this matter.

As we morn with you the death of your national, we see it fit to request your government do more to investigate the matter before an act of war is declared. Although your nation has strained relations with the nation of Akela-Victoire, we make it known to the government that this attack could have been carried out by an underground organisation with the intentions to create the current situation your nation now finds itself in. If your government wishes, The United Kingdom would send 5 of our top investigators to assist in this regard. However, we would advise against your military intentions and unfortunately would condemn your nation if such actions are taken without proper cause or sufficient evidence.

Citizens held peaceful protests in front of the Ministry of War, trying to persuade the government to declare war on Akela-Victoire. The Patricant PR Dept announced that ministers are still deliberating over their decision.

Our top story tonight, Our Prime Minister, Mr David Markham has landed safely along with five highly trained investigators in Patricant to further investigate the recent assassination of the Patricantian Ambassador to Akela-Victoire.

The Prime Minister however was not too warmly welcomed by the crowed who gathered out side of the airports main building as almost every citizen in the city are calling for war. Our governments efforts to maintain the peace will officially start today as the investigators will begin working as soon as they are given the information from the two different governments. No news from Akela-Victoire as of yet which has raised a level of concern as to why this government is not defending their name or if they are or not responsible for the assassination.

The Prime Minister will inform Her Majesty the Queen of the outcome of the investigation, but has offered military support in the event the investigation reveals that Akela-Victoire is responsible...

Prime Minister David Markham of the United Kingdom of Lentheric was immediately recalled to the United Kingdom by Her Majesty the Queen after evidence submitted by the government of the Northern Thrace found the Akela-Victoire government guilty of the assassination of the Patricantian Ambassador to Akela-Victoire.

The Prime Minister had this to say,

"In the recent evidence submitted to my team of investigators, Her Majesty the Queen has summonsed me back to the United Kingdom to personally discuss what steps we will take against Akela-Victoire concerning the matter at hand. After a telephonic conversation with our Sovereign, I was instructed by the Queen to impose sanctions and a trade embargo on the Akela-Victoire government. I leave Patricant today, with a heavy heart knowing that justice must be served and that the United Kingdom of Lentheric along with her allies, will act swiftly, unforgiving and will strike fear into the hearts of the wicked.

We have seen back home, peaceful protest from our own citizens calling on the Queen to not go to war...

The Private plane of the Prime Minister has landed 15 minutes ago in the kingdoms capital, Librium and we now see under heavy escort, the Prime Ministers motorcade being escorted to the Royal Palace for a meeting with the Queen.

was announced by one of the servants attending to the Queen. They were meeting behind closed doors and the outcome of the meeting will be made available in due course.

Interesting point, our detectives are looking into possible Akelan relations with Northeren Thrace. If these allegations are true, than we will make decisions regarding Akela-Victoire AND Northern Thrace.
