War room
Nentayeg growled in anger after reading the Chinese message to the coalition. "Those slit eyed communist scum!" The room went silent at the sudden outburst. "What's the matter Brother High Chairman. Are you talking about the Chinese?" Kayameg asked as Nentayeg rested his face in both palms of his hands.
"The People's Proud Republic, of China yes. They have stated that the'll aid the Japanese. Once again they stand in our way." He mumbled. "Don't worry, we'll take care of them before the war is over. We'll have to focus on the current war situation before any other fronts are opened on our part brother." Kayameg reasured him. The Chinese had once again provoked the Tehraanians by threatening their interrests. However the non agression pact still stood for the most part. But this might very well render that agreement void.
"Now that were mentioning the current war situation. It seems the Japanese are about to attemp an invasion on Tehraan it's self." Kayamed added as if it was nothing. "What do you mean?" Nentayeg asked after the sudden statement of the General. "I mean that there's a fleet of the Japanese Dystopian Empire nearing our international waters. We didn't notice the movement to be of any worry until they closed in on our region. From Indonesia." Kayameg declared. "So we'll have to defent our homeland during this. Does this put us in a difficult position. The Japanese might very well halt our advance if they launch a success full invasion." Nentayeg said, worried about the war effort. Rarely had foreigners attemped to invade the Tehraani homeland. The Japanese being one of them. Ultimatly they all failed. Tehraan was a jungle region and it's people had long fought amounst each other. Generally they outlasted the invasion attemps until the foreigners were no longer able or interested in staying. However this was a different Tehraan. But more powerfull then ever before. In a defensive war the Tehraanian National armed forces were at their strongest.
Kayameg shook his head. "Don't worry. Their invasion attemp is more an act of desperation than anything else. Above everything else it appears to be executed in a very stupid way. If we follow our defense protocals they won't succeed. They'll never successfully invade Tehraan or criple it to the point that we must leave the war." Kayamed reassured the High Chairman. "Make sure that you are right General. We cannot afford to loose anything significant now." Nentayeg said. Looking at Kayameg in a dark and forboading way. Yet Supreme General Kayameg was uneffected by this. "Don't worry. We have the Southern and Western fleet ready in the vicinity of the Japanese attack. Above that our coastal naval units, surface battries and NDN instalations. The Japanese Dystopian forces are running headlong into their own death. Such a poorly thought out attack will never succeed. If we mobilize our forces in the invasion zone any they won't establish a successfull beach head anyway. Even if they get past our ships." Kayameg explained.
The large size of the Tehraanian forces in those area's was definitly lost on the Japanese. It was their own land after all. Having hardly flexed the full extend of their military muscle. The amount of forces available in the area outnumbered the GEIJD invasion force by far in every respect. Not only that but the far greater military budget of the Tehraanian military had given them a major technological advantage dispite the numbers. While the japanese had deployed large amounts of prototypes with not fully developed and functional technology that none the less were more advanced than the Tehraanians operational counterparts. The Tehraanians possessed a large force of non the less advanced and more importantly of all tested and warrented to do their job unlike the japanese ones. Above that they had an over all more advanced force. With the average Tehraani force being far better trained and equipped compaired to the average Japanese one who mainly consisted out of conscrips, militias and suicidal radicals practicing inefficient tactics. The Japanese were at a disadvantage in every way possible.
"Now something else. You mentioned that our satellites discovered a large explosion in the Japanese homeland." Nentayeg said, changing the subject of the conversation. Kayameg laughed silently in response. "Yes." He said snikkering. "It appears as if they did a nuclear test to intimidate us I guess." He continued bairly managing to suppress his laughter. "However they appearantly underestimated the power of their bomb and more or less wiped out a large part of their homeland." He added letting a few laughes out as he bairly was able to maintain a serious composure.
"I see, well that's to bad for them I guess. On the combat theater however. As I understand it. Until our first campaignes succeed were pretty much stuck here right? So how is the progress going in order to solve that issue." Nentayeg asked, appearantly his mood had changed. "Were working on it. When the Japanese have been driven away. We'll be able to begin our planned attack on the Japanese controlled area's serounding us. Indonesia, Malaysia and Papua will be taken care off."
Central HQ
NDN department.
"Commander the Japanese fleet is comming within range." The operator said as the many screens showing all kinds of data while a larger screen with the map of Tehraan displayed the Japanese air and naval forces approaching from the south and south west. Phase 1 of the Tehraani defense protocals were now in effect. Phase 1 being the prevention of an invading force to successfully gain control of Tehraani waters and be able to establish a beach head.
Yet unwittingly they had entered within detection range of the normally well patrolled Tehraanian national waters. Or atleast for now. The NDNs task was to operate and coordinate all defenses the Tehraanians possessed in their homeland, including but not limited to surface to air and surface to surface batteries.
"Prepare for a maritime strike on the enemy vessals." The commander order to his department. The main weapons on the coast at this moment were NDN SS-SA missile installations aswell as several mobile coastal batteries already deployed. But adding to that were the missile corps contribution of NK-56GL Yotalre-na Kradan (heaven's hammer) missiles. Anti ship Ballistic Missiles. These missiles were loosly based on the Dongfen anti ship ballistic missiles but with a longer range. A single missile was capable of rendering a carrier inoperable at least. Even if the carrier wouldn't sink it would have to be repaired back in harbor as the missiles warhead rendered the flight deck inoprable. Not to mention they were impossible to intercept by normal fleet defenses. Only ballistic missile defenses, if any on the Japanese fleet would be able to handle them. But it wouldn't matter ultimatly.
With a MP-9 AUX on patrol detecting the fleet with it's long range AESA radar it was mearly a task of assigning targets. The goal of the first attack was not to destroy the enemy invasion fleet, althoug was certainly capable of doing so. No, it was to cripple it. Softhening them up before the formidable Tehraani navy mopped up what remained.
With naval forces in the area alerted to their presence they began to prepare for battle.
The first wave of anti ship missile launched from the Tehraani mainland flew towards the Japanese.
The strike was highly coordinated. With the General position known and the types of ships via the identification system on board the picket aircraft, they knew what they were up against. The initial counter attack would be done by multiple weapons.
First a wave of 350 Nenda-44BB GL stand off anti ship missiles. That would manuver around the enemy fleet and attack from all directions. Followed by a wave of 200 Nenda-12s hypersonic anti ship missiles in long range mode launched from Otsam II Missile boats and surface installations. Meaning they would make a high trajectory towards their target thus increasing the range of the missiles substantially but also removing their ability to fly under the radar horizon. This while 72 NK-56GL Yotalre-na Kradan AShBMs would be launched at the Enemy supercarriers and helicopter carriers.
The attack was planned so that all the missiles would strike at the sametime thus increasing the pressure on the Japanese defenses making it harder for their defenses to operate. Although the attack was not necessarily decisive. It would definitely cripple the Japanese fleet. Making them an even easier target for the following attacks. If it succeeded.
With that attack underway however it didn't take long for the powerfull radar systems to detect the presense of an enemy aircraft force heading their way.
"New aircontacts detected of range from the southern region." The main radar operator in the depart shouted. Long range radars based on the ground. Capable of monitring an increadable large area of airspace far outside Tehraanian airspace. They were powerfull enough to have a moderate stealth detection capability at the range the Stealth bombers currently were. Normally these attacks would be handeled by the airforces designated interceptor squadrons. TAFC-46 D6 Ikarem advanced air superiority fighters and interceptors, fully loaded for an interception mission and always kept at the ready to intercept bombers. However the Tehraanians also possessed an other weapon to use at this range.
Their possession of S-400 SAM systems meant they also possessed 40N6 missiles. That could hit targets at over 400km range. They were too big and slow to be able to reliably intercept smaller fighters. They were great weapons for shooting down anything from ballistic misssiles and larger aircraft. Such as the bombers the Japanese were sending at Tehraan.
The radar showing a total of 30 known bombers while non the less alerting them of the presence of more stealth aircraft yet to be pinpointed by the radars. The airdefenses were quick to respond as the NDN department's airdefense command ordered the units in airdefense sector 4 into action.
Airdefense sector 4
Commander Lakas relaxed in this command and control station of an airdefense sector, a quiet day despite being at war he thought. Yet it was not to last. "Orders from Command. Multiple bombers closing in on our sector Sir. Were ordered to engage." Yala, the communication officer who sat next to him suddenly said. The commander sprung into action.
"How many?" He asked. "Were picking up 30 on the long range radar systems. But our intel reports that there are more we haven't detected yet." The reply was. "They'll be handled by the interceptors that are currently beginning to launch." his communication officer added.
"Then engage the 30 Japanese bombers. One bomb falling on Tehraani soil means the end of our jobs and the death of ancestors know how many of our fellow countrymen and I don't want that on my conscience." Lakas shouted to his subordinates who imediatly started their jobs without replying.
Their were SAM systems both inside the NDN installations and combined with airdefense batteires equipped with S-400 launchers it would provide Tehraan with and efficient area of denial for enemy aiecraft. Unless they played smart. Which the Japanese weren't doing.
"All targets tracked and locked. Ready to fire commander!"
This was the que for Lakas. "Open fire.!" He shouted. Simple orders with immeasurable repercussions for the Japanese. 90 40N6 missiles were fired at the Japanese stealth bombers. They would certainly take out most of the targetted aircraft. Despite whatever stealth or counter measures they had.
At the same time.
Alarms rang all over the Main military airbases in South western Tehraan. The alarm that signified the scramble of the interceptor squadrons. Yalet had done this many times. In training. But this was real and he knew it.
His hart raced as he ran towards his D6 interceptor. loaded with R-33M missiles, designe by the soviets for use against high speed bombers. They were the main interception missile at the moment. They would work well enough against the Japanese bombers.
Yalet climbed into the cockpit. He started up his aircraft. The many buttons and displays turning on like a creature awakening from it's slumber. He and his squadron made their way to the runway and took off. They were 12 of the 36 interceptors deployed agains the Japanese.
Tehraan, Western and Southern Military discricts.
A bright late sunny day in Tehraan. The large military colum of trucks. Filled with Tehraani service men passed through the villages that littered the Nenda Mulmak region. Driving pass the many rice paddies and marijuana fields that filled this Tehraani state.
Nadayan. A local inhabitant and servicemen of the Tehraani national army, essentially a conscript. Clinged to his Ak-107 rifle as the truck drove towards their destination. The shore, were the Japanese dystopians threatend to land a large part of their invasion force.
The spirits were high. Many of them (as xenophobic as the average Tehraani was) disliked those slit eyed and treacherous Nips, the prospect of them invading their homeland didn't cause them to think better of them. They wanted to fight the Japanese and drive them back to their own little Island. Many of the squads spend the trip singing one of the many well known Nationalist songs like 'Everybody hails the Hegemonic Union of Tehraan', 'Tehraan is mother to us all' and 'Forward brothers!' In between were times were soldiers cracked jokes while they went onwards on the relatively long journey.
Many of the more nationalist and pro government Tehraanians that lived in the area had come to watch the many conscrips and professional soldiers travel to the shore to meet the Japanese if they landed. Saluting the trucks as they passed by. "Gatsam Tela-an, Gatsam Tela-an!" They chanted while they saluted. Clenshing their fists and raising them in the air, as was one of the primary salutes the Tehraanians had (ironically a salute invented by the communists of the PRA.)
Nadayan watched as his brothers mingled amoung each other as if their was no war. He wasn't even remotely happy. He had hoped to study in the university of Nekayas after his compulsory service time was over. Now it seemed he was forced to fight against the Japanese in a war his leaders had thrown their homeland in. He was one of the lesser supportive citizens of Tehraan. But if he had to choose out of living under the iron fist of the Fascists or Japanese he would choose his own country men over the foreigners.
"He Nadayan, why the sad face?" One of his squad members asked, noticing the sad look on his face. "I'm not feeling very well." He simply said to the other guy. "So, cheer up, it's not the end of the world you know." The soldier replied, retaining the optimistic expression he had even before they left their base.
Nadeyan rose out of his near sleep and relieved his rifle from his hugging grasp that had enveloped it for most of the journey now. "What do you mean not the end of the world. The Nips are on our doorstep and your acting like you on a RNR trip in the freaking brothel streets of Tsantatsena." He said louwedly over the signing and laughing of the others. "Dude, just cheer up. For all we know the Japanese won't even be able to land here. There's a shitload of ships between their way, command is just taking precautions." the soldier reassured him. Nadeyan didn't say anything. He stared outside of the truck at the other trucks that were evacuating the hapless peasants that inhabited the coastal regions. If the Japanese caught them, who knows what they would do.
Tehraan
Gîzar and Mulmak Regional waters.
After a total of 30 Otsam II Missile boats had fired their missiles at the incoming Japanese navy, they moved away from the Japanese navy to reload at a more secure location.
But they weren't the only Tehraani ships in the area. Their was a large collection of PT boats and corvets patrolling the Tehraanin National waters in the area were the Japanese were moving on Tehraan. Adding to that it lay between the Naval districts of the Western and Southern fleets. Giving both of them the ability of fighting the Japanese in a short time span after mobilization, which since the fact that Tehraan was at an all out war with the GEIJD they had been mobilized well before they even knew the Japanese had launched their attack.
It was chosen that the recently returned from Tehraanian Natal, Admiral Matseya, would lead the navy in the area with subordinates fleet units the remaining battle groups of the Southern fleet while tacking command onboard the Flag Ship of the Western fleet. The HUS Narakan supercarrier along with the full force of the western fleet.
He stood on the command deck of the bridge were he watched the strategic display showing his forces and those of the Japanese. His first officer Rasyet came to him as he asked "What are your order sir?"
Matseya looked a the tactical display and then turned to his second in command. "Have our CAPs and AEW in the air. But I want several squadrons of Naval Terminators prepared for an anti shipping strike. Once the first strike is successful they'll be vulnerable from our attacks from the air. I want the fleet to move within the Gîzar Island region while the Southern fleet moves to a position from the South east." Matseya said. The Rasyed nodded and relayed Matseyas orders to the other officers.
This put a wide open path for the Japanese to the Tehraani shores at the Mulmak region. With only brown water fleet elements between them and the coast. A large amount of PT and Missile boats backed up by Tehraani corvets and Diesel-electric attack submarines.
"Now it only a matter of waiting." Matseya mumbled to him self as he watched the Japanese for their next move
Tehraan,
Southern, south west, south east Airspace
Command & control watched a large part of the enemy UAVs fall out of the sky. But their were still many going forward.
The next wave came quick. an other 1200 CAAM-77 missiles were fired at the UAVs. But the enemy aircraft came closer and closer. To the point that Command & control didn't feel like risking more aircraft as the zeroes stried to get closer
"Cyclops 1 to all aicraft. attack and retreat." The final orders were. The all aircraft fired their remaining 1200 BVR missiles, a mix of R-77s and CAAM-29Es towards the Zeroes. Not bothering with providing a mit course update, they turned around and headed back to base. Away from the enemy aircraft as fast as was possible.
Tehraani Northern Fleet
Air battle
"This is Gila 2 to all aircraft standby for instructions." Flight control officer Yaron onboard a T-Yak-44 A AWACS said. Observing the digital radar display that showed their own aircraft aswell as detected enemy aircraft.
"We have a fox 1 on the Enemy AWACS, missile inbound at Anti AWACS groups, launched from hostile AWACS, engage AWACS now." He shouted into the radio to the 24 CSu-35BMNs who's mission was to shot down the AWACS and other early warning systems that the Japanese had deployed in the area.
For one the Japanese had been to eager to fire missiles at the Incomming Tehraani aircraft. With a range of 300km although long was no match for the Tehraani R-37M missiles that far exided that range. The Tehraanian simply slowed down and fired their missiles. When they had done their mitcourse updates they simply turned around still outside of range for the Japanese missiles fired at them. Having expended their missiles at the Tehraanians in a bit to escape they were now highly vulnerable to the Tehraani fighters. With 48 missiles fired at their AWACS and early warning systems they would be little chance to escape the fast and long ranged radar homing missiles with the large Japanese aircraft.
The CSu-35BMN flew back towards the vicinity of their own AWACS.
Yaron watched as the missiles closed distance on the enemy AWACS but his attention was taken away by a sudden alert form the radar and it's operator. "Were detecting several large signals launched from the Japanese navy, I think their interceptors launched at our aircraft." He shouted. The Japanese socalled stealth aircraf had made the error of flying at full speed. Meaning their afterburners were one, nullyfying any stealth they had as the termall scanners increase their signature.
"Order the hunt & kill groups to engage them at BVR." Yaron ordered to his radio officer. The 24 D6 aircraft moved into position for the strike on the Japanese aircraft.
Captain Yanet sat in the cockpit of his D6 as he lead the detachement of his squadron towards the Japanese airforces. "Ikalran 1 understood." he said into his mick as he took the lead.
Although it might on paper appear as if the Tehraanians were outmatched by the far larger Japanese aircraft force in this stand off the Japanese underestimated the the Tehraanians. Leading to a major mistake on their part.
While the Japanse so called 6th gen aircraft might appear supreme, they were infact very badly designed and their pilots and commanders most certainly not on the level of that of the Tehraanians. Focused on to many functions and build more as an record breaker aircraft then an effective aircraft the Japanse aircraft made the mistake of putting them selfs in a very bad position.
To be more exact the attack was a book case BVR situation. A thing in which the D6 enjoyed supremacy over the Japanese in this case.
The 24 D6s approached the Japanese up to a 100km range were they did their attack. "Standby, all figheters mark targets zones and devide bandits!" Yanet said as they readied for the strike. Tracking four japanese aircraft he closed distance and readied his missiles
"Missile, missile!" He suddenly heared on the radio as the Japanese fired they missiles at the Tehraanians. The Radar receiver warning buzzed in his head set. But the Tehraanians had other plans. Already being tracking by their powerfull radars. The D6 were specificly designed as an weapon to face of against low observable and stealth aircraft.
The Japanese aircraft dislayed as Quadrilateral turned into tri-angels on his helm-mounted as the radar locked on to the enemy aircraft and they passed the 100km line. "Fox 3! Fox 3! Missiles away."
Yanet saw his 4 missiles shoot from his aircraft towards their target. Everywere internal bays opened and released their deadly CAAM-77s on the Japanese. The Cloud of missile speed from their formation. They launched a total of 96 CAAM-77 Anacondas at the Japanese.
Yanet knew what he had to do next as he had done so time again in simulation and against the Allanean airforce. Immediatly they made a tight turn. Revealing their second backwards mounted radars who they used to provide tracking of the Japanese aircraft and mid-course updates for their missiles while they moved away from their targets in full afterburners.
The Japanese missile attack failed as the distance between the lauching point and their targets exided 100km again. Causing the Japanese missiles to ran out of fuel and crashed into the sea. Yanet sighed of relieve seen the missiles dissapear from their radars and the warning system turning off.
The Tehraani missile attack however was very different. As the CAAM-77 flew towards the hight of the Japanese aircraft they received their mid-course update. Putting them right in the projected flight path of the Japanese who were flying at high speeds. The situation was as simple as it was disaterouse of the Japanese 6th gen fighters. Regardless of whatever Stealth or other counter measures they had. They were flying way to fast to manuver out of the missiles path who were flying as high speeds aswell. Japanese aircraft would suffer severe casualties one way on an other.
"This is Ikalran 1 to fleet. Payload dilivered and returning to base." Yanet reported.
Back in at Gila 1 Yaron monitered Yanet and his attack on the digital radar display. While the missiles would soon hit home. Their was a good chance the Japanese would persute with what surfived the attack. "Gila 1 to Ikalran 1, be adviced that the bandits might persute beyond their controlled airspace. Be ready for an attack from behind!" he said as he warned the Hunt & kill group.
Apone receiving the message the Fleet's carriers launched the next wave that were on Alert 5 standby to replace the first wave who were now out of long range missiles.
Yaron observed the situation. With their main picket aircraft atleast 100km behind the fighters they were well protected. But the Tehraanians had to secure a the airspace aswell as remove the Japanese early warning systems to maximise the damage caused by their attacks. But now it was time too see what their missiles did.
Tehraanian Northern fleet.
HUS Ikalrem. Flag ship of the Northern Fleet.
By now the 600 anti-ship missiles fired at the Japanese would hit. While Nerakan observed the battle, he saw that everything until now was unfolding exacly as the Tehraani naval tactics desired. The Japanese helicopters were send to the bottom of the sea when they flew right into the airdefense of the Tehraani navy and so would any and all aircraft that dared to entered the space around their fleet.
"Admiral. The Japanese fleet in moving towards us. I think their going to try and get within range of their remaining weapons." The radar officer said to Admiral Nerakan who smilled, seeing the symboles chance in his tactical display indicating that the Japanese were moving. "Good, that means they must have depleted all their long range anti ship weapons. That puts us in the position we want to." He says. The prospect of everything going to plan exited him to no end.
"What shall we do sir?" Junior Admiral Nagila, who had been observing the battle behind Nerakans shoulder suddenly asked. His attention away his display, Nerakan turned to his pupil. "You see Nagila." He started. "The Japanese have in an effort to retaliate fired all their long range anti ship missiles. That means they need to get closer to us if they want to attack us more. Seeing how their attacks failed to have a successfull kill ratio. That gives us enough time to hit them again and again with far more coordinated attacks. All we have to do is sit here and hit the Nips until they back off or are destroyed." He said smiling. Nagila nodded. He had learned this in the Acedemy but seeing it put to action is something entirly different.
This was the very essence of the Tehraani naval warface strategy. Attack in stand off range outside of the reach of the enemy. Relying on their powerfull air and missile defenses the weapons that were capable of hitting them were dealth with without suffering major losses. Forcing the Japanese to get closer to attack with their remaning shorter ranged weapons. The Tehraanians could pound them with attack before they would reach. And by the time they did they would be so damaged and harrased that they would hardly be a threat. If they were even afloat at that time. This battle was already won by the Tehraanians unless the Japanese would come up with something that would turn the tide in a short while.
Nerakan looked as his attack plan was coming to frutition. As the 72 maritime strike aircraft flew over the Tehraani fleet towards their target.
