Pact of Righteous Vindication

Signatories:
The Royal Kingdom of Maltropia
The Imperium of Olschewonia
The United Kingdom of Estalia and Tilea
The Soviet Socialist Republic of Lenisograd
The Armed Republic of Aquitayne

The Pact of Righteous Vindication is a treaty which aims to ensure the military and economic co-operation of its signatories. Militarily, it promises assistance to its signatories in wartime, and, economically, promises to assist in times of need. All signatories of the Pact (herein referred to as the PRV) agree to all the following terms:

1. Military
1.1. To provide military assistance to other signatories in the event of a call to arms;
1.1A. In the event that one isn't able to provide military aid, the reason must be given.
1.2. To refrain from attacking other, or the allies thereof.
1.3. In the event that a signatory calls for aid against another's ally, an emergency meeting must be called to discuss further action.

2. Economic
2.1. To keep borders free and open to citizens of other signatory nations;
2.2. To permit vessels from signatory nations to dock in their ports;
2.3. To provide economic assistance to other signatories, should it be required.

On Membership

3. Administration
3.1. The PRV will be administrated by its founders.

4. New Members
In the event that the PRV chooses to welcome new members into its midst, they shall first be required to submit an application sheet. Once this has been submitted, and found to be acceptable, it must then be approved by the founders of the PRV.

It was easier to lump all 3 of you into one category; I had seen your app and noticed its uniqueness.

Gentlemen, I must say that I am disappointed. When I first heard of The Pact of Righteous Vindication, I envisioned a force for good - a proactive alliance with the resources and resolve to confront those that would spread tyranny and oppression. That would have been something the Republic of Dartia could support. But, having read the charter, I see this is just another mutual defense organization.

It is not enough to simply defend your own borders. If you turn a blind eye while the world around you turns to shit, sooner or later that shit will arrive at your doorstep. Be bold. Take the initiative. You do not want history to remember you as leaders that stood idly by while warmongers, slavers, etc. ran amok.

My disappointment aside, best of luck assembling your alliance. My apologies for the lecture.

I suppose I must agree with you on some points. However, the PRV's primary goal, as the very name suggests, will be to protect its members. Maltropia pursues an active role against slavery and warmongery, but too often a large alliance which openly launches itself into wars will acquire a bad reputation. The alliance does not oblige its members to invade wantonly, regardless of cause - it stands as a warning to declare that our nations are united against oppression. If one of our nations takes a stand, we will throw our support behind it. It is, after all, the initiative of the member to decide whether they shall make war.

If you do not approve of this, then that is your right. That you took even a moment to look us over is appreciated. Your apologies are not necessary, either - you were not wrong to speak as you did.
