Exercise "JUST SHIELD" [Nordlanda Pact ONLY]

Postby Prizyetsa » Mon Sep 12, 2011 10:20 am

Exercise "JUST SHIELD"

Host: United Socialist States of Prizyetsa
Location: Rennesøy Proving Grounds
Goal: Asses alliance readiness to special forces strikes on strategic targets within the Nordlanda Pact, and alliance readiness to
attack hostile strategic forces.

Map
http://maps.google.com/maps?um=1&hl=nl&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:nl:official&q=rennes%C3%B8y%20island%20map&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=84058l85209l0l85393l7l7l0l0l0l4l650l1555l0.3.2.5-1l6l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1280&bih=619&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=il

Prizyetsa will be hosting the exercise and will be playing as the defenders. The target will be a heavily defended research bunker on the East side of the mountain, in the Hodnafjellet. (Hodna mountain) The bunker entrance is located at the top of the mountain, which is heavily defended by pillboxes manned by 120 Administratii operatives, plus Landa Gårda troops, who have a good view over all sides of the mountain, as well as barbed wire, pressure snesors and infra red detectors. There is little to no wildlife present on the island, so the chance of the alarms being tripped by wildlife is virtually zero. There is only one path up to the entrance, guarded by two checkpoints, one at the bottom of the mountain, and one halfway up the mountain. Both are guarded by Administratii and Landa Gårda soldiers at all times, 30 troops each, and are given orders to shoot on site, as the whole compound is fenced off. The compound is also patrolled by Administratii teams.

Air support can be called in within 8 minutes, as well as reinforcements in 15.

By the grace of the Most Holy Falcon, the most merciful, most gracious, protector of the Shahbazi Peoples the Emirates of Shahbaz would like to request that we be allowed to provide observers to the units involved in this important exercise. As a new member of the Nordlanda Pact the Special Operations Corps of the Emirates Defense Forces would benefit more from observing the methods used by our allies than from fully participating at this point. If this request for observation is approved we will be sending Captain Bashar Abdul Ali along with a observing detachment of one Special Operations Corps soldier for each squad participating on both sides of the exercise. These soldiers are highly trained and will be able to keep up with any maneuvers so as to not hinder the combat effectiveness of the units they are attached to. In addition to the deployment of Captain Ali and his detachment Colonel Bakr, the commanding officer of the Emirates Special Operations Corps, would also like to attend the after action meeting to be informed as to the outcome of the exercise and any lessons learned.

OP-FOR MEETING CENTER, RENNESOY PROVING GROUNDS
RENNESOY ISLAND, PRIZYETSA
08:54 HOURS

Matthias Gavenson sat back in his chair, awaiting the other members of the exercise who would be going against Prizyetsa. He was dressed in IKGF medium armor, fastened to specially-designed connectors on his chest, shoulders, arms, elbows, legs, and knees, all on the BDUs he was wearing. He had a revolver in his hand. The word "KAZDEN" was inscribed into the barrel, followed by the names "DENTON" and "MARCUS." The pin was bent. There was a single bullet inside, with the name "DRAVIOUSAN SALVO" scratched into it. Gavenson was flipping the revolver around his fingers and between his hands, pausing occasionally to whip the cylinder out, spin it, catch it, examine the bullet, whip it shut again, then continue to flip and spin it. Finally, the door opened, and the DSPian commander walked in. "Welcome, friend," Gavenson said as he stood up, holstering the revolver.

"It has come to my attention that you have brought armored vehicles. As such, I propose this plan: your armored boys are good at makin' a lot of noise, and causing some serious damage, correct? If you could lead a frontal assault along the Hondeveien road, it would draw off a lot of the Prizyetsi guards. My IKSF Operators can then sneak inside and disable their security systems. This will make them go totally dark. Prizyetsa is like us: they rely on their advanced technology. Without it, they'll be lost for a few critical minutes. That's when you make your charge, and finish them off while we make life difficult for them behind their own lines. Eventually, we'll link up, and finish them off. Is this plan acceptable?"

We're a PMT/FT nation of humans. That's right, just humans. Not psychic supermen, nor crazy cyborgs, nor massive mutants. Just normal human homo sapiens trying to make our way in this insane galaxy full of wonders, horrors, and everything in between.

"Noise doesn't begin to discribe it. I like the layout, but just charging in there, guns ablaze? Are you nuts? I want to make sure i dont get pegged by any explosives before we even get to shoot!" Captain Rechunski added, a little frustrated "It feels like we're just there to get shot at while you muster up something pretty!" he said.

"Good afternoon gentlemen, how are you all?" A Prizyetsi officer asked as she walked into the room. On her shoulder, she wore the Skull 'n' Knife patch of the 293rd Administratii squad, a "shadow squad", specialised in shadowing and nuetralising targets. "We are opening the excersise JUST SHIELD" and we are the defenders. Our checkpoints will be located at the following points, please take notes. Checkpoint one, codenamed 'Sister', will be located at the Hodneveien/Gangenesveien crossing. Guarding this checkpoint will be the following men, 29th Administratii team, 98th Administratii team and men from the local Landa Gårda. The second checkpoint, 'Brother' will be located at the further up the road near the busstop by the bridge, and is to be manned by the 3rd Administratii team, the 112th Administratii team and elements of the Naval Infantry, including light armor. Engineers have set up temporary blocks, seeing as the terrain ahead is not suitable for motor vehicles due to swamps and forrests. Any supplies have been transported to the last checkpoint from Stavanger/Sola air base. The third and final checkpoint, 'Mother', is at the entrance of the compound, and is more heavily guarded then the other checkpoints. The entrance is guarded by several Administratii teams, but the number is to be kept secret due to security reasons. I can tell you however that there will be around 150 Landa Gårda troops positioned in and around the fortifications at the entrance." She paused and looked at her notes. "Ah yes, all other aproaches are nearly impossible due to the terrain, seeing as it's hard to climb a near-verticle mountain which for some unknown reason is always wet." The men and women laughed. "Anyways, I will be leading one of 5 Administratii teams around the perimeters of the compound. All Administratii operators will be issued standard shadow-ops equipment, plus a PAR-21 with a silencer as well as 1 sillenced MR-3 per squad. As usual, 5 men to a squad, et cetera, you knowthe drill. As for our Landa Gårda friends, you will be issued with PAR-18 assault rifles, no supressors, they won't be needed. Any questions?" she asked.

A young lieutenant stuck his hand up. "Rules of engagement, ma'm?"
The officer smiled "Glad you asked. No Prizyetsi uniform, shoot the bastard. Administratii, use silencers please, we don't want to make it too obvious we're following them." she said with a smile.
Another soldier raised his hand. "Where will observers be?"
"In an airship above the excersizes, and they will be able to see everything on tactical overlays. Naturally, they will not be able to communicate with their men."
She pauzed. "Any more questions?... Good, pick up your things and make your way up to your posts and await the green light."
All the men stood up and saluted. The officer returned the salute and everyone left. As she was leaving the briefing hall herself, a younger soldier, a courir stopped her. "Misses Ilanson, there is a mr. Gavenson in the country, you requested ot be informed if he entered the country." She was lost in thought for a moment, and answered, "Thank you major."

OP-FOR MEETING CENTER, RENNESOY PROVING GROUNDS
RENNESOY ISLAND, PRIZYETSA

Iftikhar Safeer, Captain in the Shahbazi Special Operations Forces entered the room, dressed immaculately in his dress uniform: military black slacks, shined dress shoes, a white undershirt and royal green, and a military black suit jacket with lapel pins of the Shahbazi flag and coat of arms of the SOF. At his side was a pearl-handled Caracas 9mm pistol, unloaded for reasons of diplomacy and respect to his allies. Upon entering the room he snapped to attention upon seeing Matthias Gavenson and the representative from the Scocialist Provinces. He provided a sharp military salute before moving to a seat across the table from Gavenson and sitting, staying at attention as he brought out his notebook. Through all of this he said not a word, and began taking notes on operational information provided within the room.

PRIZYETSI OPERATIONS CENTER

Only a couple seconds after Captain Safeer entered the attackers center, the observer for the Prizyetsi defenses arrived in their respective center. Haajar Faheem entered the room in a similar manner and similar dress uniform. He provided a similar crisp military salute, but before sitting he said “Captain Faheem of the Emirates Defense Force reporting!” in english, the language he knew other than Shahbazi. He hoped this would be good enough for this meeting. Once seated he also began taking notes on the operational plan from what he could see. He would of course make more notes about it as discussion happened.

"Welcome gentlemen!" an officer called out. Slipping through other soldiers in the room, he held out a hand to the observers. "Welcome to the observation center. All units are equiped with trackers, for the purpose of tracking and evaluating of course, noone on the ground will have this information." The officer led the observers forward, so a large island (platform in the middle of the room) where a 3d holographic map of the island with markers showing the positions of both armies. "Newest technology, that is." the officer said casually, pointing at the island. "Drinks and food is located in the back over there. Naturally, no alchohol."

A solider with a large beard taking a swig swore when he heard 'no alcohol'. "When do we start?" Rechunski asked whilst prepping his XM8. "What is the course?"

The DSP troops were the most hardy out of everyone there, but the slowest when it came to mobility. Everything they had was made of metal, because of shortages of plastic. But this was not much of a problem because of mechanization.

Captain Faheem sat at the table, taking notes about the layout of the room in his notebook. His orders were to be thorough and so thorough was how he was going to be. He noted the high tech electronics and the layout of the room, as well as described the other officers. After finishing this, he stood and moved silently to the refreshments table, and got himself a glass of mineral water before moving to a edge of the hologram table and looking up at the officer that had spoken regarding it. “And this technology will...” he paused for a moment searching his mind for the right english word. “allow?... allow us to view the exercise in real time Sir?” he asked, admiring the technology and making a side note to his commander to contact the Prizyesta government regarding the technology and noting the existing positions of tracked units. He studied the display intently.

The officer looked the observer in the eye, which was the polite thing to do in Prizyetsa. "Yes sir, all information displayed in this room is real time, unless there's a storm of course, in which case there's a 1 or 2 second delay." A younger soldier with the enseignia of a major whispered something into the officer's ear, and his eyes glanced over to the holographic display for a second before thanking the major and dismissing him. "Tak." he told him. "Anyways, yes, this is real-time. If you have any requests, please don't hesitate to ask." he told them.

In the DSP sitrep room, Captain James L. Rechunski was instructing his men on what to do. His beret had a symbol of a star-shaped mace, indicating his rank. two blue bands on the bicep indicated he was DSPSO. "

"Alright, here's what you boys are going to do. You're starting at the north-west part of the island. While the tanks and infantry move along the road, the two Hueys will fly ahead with five men in them each. They will scout the moutain, observing and spotting weak spots. Once a safe LZ has been spotted, the helicopters will inform you and your allies (Shablaz and Kauvaria) of these locations, then land. The troops inside will dis-embark and wait for the others, whom will be deployed by the BMDs. The tanks will arrive, hopefully unscathed. Now, all of you will mount an assault on the top of the mountain, with the helicopters supporting you. Understood?"

"Sir, Yes Sir!" they yelled and saluted

"Dismissed." Rechunski finished with a grin.

Later...

Rechunski walked into the room where officers were gathering. He was amazed at the hologram, what a marvel, he thought. As a Shablazian finished talking with a Prizyetsian officer, he walked up and asked: "So, my troops are ready, when do we start?"

The Kauvaran troops were assembled near the DSPian soldiers. Gavenson was with them. He would be leading this personally. He would view the after-action report to learn what he could. He approached the DSPian commander. "Squad 1 is gonna shadow you and secure your flanks and rearguard. My people work better when we're out of sight. If you ever come across any engagements, we'll move some troops around and flank them. This will be Squad 1's job. In the meantime, I have Squad 2 doing leaping overwatch of 5 2-man sniper teams who will be following you from various locations at all times. 3 of them are equipped with standard silenced sniper rifles. However, 2 are equipped with heavy anti-material rifles. They will ONLY fire if you give the signal, or if they're shots can be masked by explosions. Theese 5 teams will take turns advancing, so that 3 are covering us at all times. They will be linked to your radio. Simply request a target, and it'll be taken out. You can request up to three shots at a time: two silenced sniper rifles, and one anti-material rifle. The team designations are FoxEye 2-1 through FoxEye 2-5; anti-material teams are FoxEye 2-4 and FoxEye 2-5, and one will always be on station while the other moves. All of FoxEye 2 has examined the Rennesoy map thoroughly; they know their ways around, and already have locations picked out. They'll move fluidly. However, if a team suffers risk of being spotted, it will report in and stop their movement, linking up with another FoxEye team until they can safely split up again. In short, you'll have two silenced sniper rifles and one anti-material rifle giving you overwatch at all times (OOC: just request their fire support, DSP, and then RP them hitting their targets. It'd be a waste for me to just make a post of a guy firing his rifle at your target XD). My Command Team and I will set up a location where our 2 Predator UAVs will relay information to us, which we will then relay to you. We'll use one of the old buildings as a field HQ, callsign 'Motherfox' (OOC: you'll basically have outdoor/opensky enemy positions at all times, DSP, so feel free to RP accordingly :) ). And don't worry about tracking; we have signal maskers. We actually use civilian channels, and bury our code in the rest of the noise. It'd take a year just to sift through one second of it all to find our transmissions. Not only that, but, even if we are found, I speak fluent Prizyet thanks to all the time I spend here, so I can just wave 'em off. Alright, enough talk. Let's move out!"

Gavenson turned away. He opened his vest pocket and pulled out a picture. "Hier gaan we, Ilanii..."

"Misses Ilanson." the major continued. "Theres more I was sent to tell you. Please follow me." The major led Ilanii down a corridor into a small hangar where a small stack of boxes lay illuminited by a single spotlight mounted from the ceiling. Ilanii took a good look at the crates. "Are these what I think they are?" The major nodded. "Yes ma'm. The new Mk. 44 anti armor missile launchers." Ilanii smiled. "Lovely. Who were they assigned to?" The major looked at her as if he knew something she didn't. "They were assigned to you, weren't you told? They need to be tested in a combat scenario." Ilanii opened a crate and took out a launcher. "Wow, they're lighter than I thought they would be..." The major looked through some papers in his hand. "Yes ma'm, only 13kg." Ilanii carefully placed the launcher back in its crate. "How many do we have?" "40." the major took another look at the papers. "They are heat seeking, and have the ability to be fired vie remote controll if need be." Ilanii whistled. "Have them sent to 'Mother'. I'll distrubute them there." The major saluted, and Ilanii returned the gesture as she walked off. "This just keeps on getting more and more interesting, doesn't it?" she thought out loud...

Gavenson twirled the Kazden Family Revolver in his hand as he paced around the MotherFox building. Computers lined the walls, displaying the information being relayed from the two Predator drones. He was restless. He didn't like just sitting around. Last time he did this was in Aldard, and he didn't like how that ended. He looked at the clock. It had only been three and a half minutes since he last looked at it. It reminded him of his lectures in the Vulpesian Military Academy three years prior, when he was 21. "That's it..." he thought. "I cannot handle anymore of this trivium..." Gavenson walked towards the armslocker.

"Sir, where are you going?" one of the technicians asked.
"Just for a walk, sergeant," he replied, reaching for a silenced SCAR-L.
"Uh, sir...?"
"Just stay here. You'll be safe. You have guards, and you're entirely masked."
"Y...yes, sir..." the technician responded.

Gavenson walked out the door and into the forest, making his way towards the Administratii team he knew was already tailing the DSP soldiers. "Tot ziens, Ilanii..."

Rennesøy Proving Grounds, Chinese Special Operations Team 56, Operation to spy on Enemy Exercise
"Team 1, we have landed." Chinese Sergeant Nhiang spoke over his mic. His squad quickly exited the small, seemingly abandoned boat that landed onto the island. They quickly rushed into the jungle, making sure no one spotted them. 3 Teams of highly trained, highly dedicated, and highly lethal DSF, Chinese recon and tactical-assault teams of soldiers, had been shipped to the island via boat. Each team had been assigned six men. They had arrived on the old boats to maintain secrecy. Once they finished their objective, they would push the boats back out to sea, and await until they were in international waters, where the Chinese light cruiser, Everlasting Fire, would pick them up. Everyone knew the risks of being caught. But the information they would attain would be perfect. Their skills, their weapons of war, and their tactics, would be known to China. A crucial advantage, if China decided to take more of Afrika, or if she wished to re-unite East and West India. The treasures would be enormous. There was, however, a flipside. If caught, China would be in deep diplomatic trouble, and other countries would keep closer tabs on the Middle Kingdom's activities, particularly in Asia and Afrika. As all the teams finished reporting in, Nhiang looked at his GPS. It was a Chinese satellite uplinked into a portable screen, and it showed what was happening. Prizyetsa Forces were engaging DSP troops in a heated firefight, with Kauvaran snipers assisting tremendously. And a Prizyetsa team, which Nhiang decided were either a high-class team of troops, or Administratii operatives, were stalking a Kauvaran Operator team. They both seemed to keep moving, in an attempt to gain an advantage. "Team 3, survey the firefight between DSP and Prizyetsa forces. Try to stealthily take out the Kauvaran snipers, if possible. Team 2, rendezvous with me at the site I've designated on your GPS. We are going to take down the Priz and Kauv special forces teams. When they are about to finish one another, we strike. Take their commanders alive, if possible." "Roger," Nhiang heard over his mic. He motioned his troops to proceed to the point, and they quickly started moving. The Nordlanda Pact would get but a taste of the capabilities of China.

OOC noone's fighting yet, we're just starting and we would be able to see your ship on radar.

Like all other Administratii commanders, Ilanii had hand picked the soldiers she would be fighting with. She choose them for stealth and accuracy over brute force, like some of her collegues. She knew that if she wanted to use her team to effectivly find and wipe out the enemy special forces teams, which she knew were out there, she would need to be as silent and fluid as possible. It was for this reason that she had gone through hundreds of files and picked only the best men and women of the Prizyetsi military to help her with this task. Her plan was to wait untill the main force had passed and then to silently take out one of the rear guard units and take it's place. It was risky, but she knew she could do it. To prepare for the worst, Ilanii had taken the standard 20cm knives from her squad ad issued them 30cm matte black blades instead. If they were in a knife fight, she felt it would be better to have a longer blade in case she needed to stab or cut an enemy. Over the past few days, the weather had started to deteriorate, and there was a low over cast. The Prizyetsi Meteological Society had forcasted rain, but it hadn't come yet. Ilanii was confident that she could use the rain as cover if she had to to avoid detection, especially if she was going to stick to the forrests, like she intended.

"Our goal, as you all know is to wait here at this intersection, plant 2 luomi ATMs and move on. The mines should give them quite a scare and slow their advance. It will also inform the next team of their location. Team 2 will be lying in wait here," she pointed on the map" to mop up any flanking support with supressed PAR-21s. We then move on and try to flank the flanking forces, killing anything that moves, our or not. Our troops know they shouldn't be here, and if they are, then it's their problem." Ilanii loked at her men, and they all nodded. "We wil dig ourselves spider holes to conceil our position, each 10m apart, giving us a total spread of 50m. This assures that we will catch the enemy by suprise, like a fishing net in the sea. Any questions?" Noone said a word. "Good" The men moved out.

20min later...

OOC: Kauvara said there was a firefight between DSP and your forces.
Also, they look very abandoned and old. And they were probably going about 10 or 20 mph. I'm pretty sure no normal person would waste ammo on some old, rinky dinky ship.

OOC where are the firefights? and I meant the cruiser ;) I mean, just saying we're kinda suspicious as to why a cruiser from China would be way up in Arctic waters?
