Volunteers to fight the Chinese hordes from the Union began to arrive by ship and planes to Vetka,Chernobyl. Many of them were seasoned soldiers, however some never seen a battle. From Vetka they would make their way to the border to help Chernobyl’s forces battle the Chinese and poles at the Polish-Chernobyl Border. The men were in high spirits, signing songs and laughing, but the grandfathers knew soon the younger one would cease their laughter and start to shit their pants out of fear of the horrors of war. One of the grandfathers kept staring at what looked to be a boy no older than fourteen years old;

“Boy, how old are you?”

“Me? I’m 17...sir!”

“You’re lying, you sound a and look like your 13!”

“That’s not true, I’m 15! I…ment…”

“What the hell are you doing here, you had your whole life ahead of you, your going get yourself killed! Can you even--, never mind. There’s nothing we can do about you now. Look, stick with me at all times. Keep your damn head down, shoot anything that’s yellow and moves, most importantly don’t try and be a hero! Don’t make me have to drag your corpse to your mother.”

“Understood sir!”

The sounds of war now reached the men’s years, there time to help defend the Soviet Republic of Chernobyl was nearing…

The Kleomentian king has sent an army to help the Chinese and the Polish in the war against Chernobyl. He has ordered the 7th National Legion to be sent to the battlefield. Kleomentia is now officially declaring war against The Soviet Republic of Chernobyl-Pripyat. The king had this to say:"We are declaring war on Chernobyl-Pripyat not because they have been bad to our people, but because they are at war with our old and good allies and friends, the Pols. The Polish People's Republic of Polska rzczpolspolita will receive an army that will help them in this war. The 7th National Legion will be later followed by the 10th National Legion and the 3rd Royal Legion. Currently we are still waiting for our army to get to Chernobyl. We promise the people of Polska rzczpolspolita and to the people of China that we will fight honorably by their side. This is all i have to say." The King was a bit worried if his father will approve of this when he get's back from the summit. He was not still sure if he made the right choice, he was feeling that he's father might be disappointed of his actions. While the King was at the speech the 7th National Legion was already moving to Chernobyl and is expected to get there in at least 3 days.

"Titan-1 to "Molot", over"

"This is "Molot", what is your status report."

"Outpost is within visual range, masking approach with natural terrain. No contact with outpost, Air Assault team will deploy a few hundred meters east, we will provide air support and continually update situation, over"

"Copy Titan-1, permission to engage any and all hostiles. Rapid Reaction forces are in the area to respond if there is indeed an attack. "Daybreak out.""

The pair of Mi-24V gunships tailed by group an Mi-8MT hurried along just above treetop level in a line until reaching a specified clearing, when the Hinds broke formation and raised altitude circling the area and scanning the border.

"Titan-1 to "Molot", I have visual on corpses near the outpost - they are our own."

"Understood. Continue plan and wait for further instructions."

As the DShB troops jumped out of their transport as they hovered just feet off the ground, they immediately began moving in what could be considered an assault mission. They wore typical uniforms in the "3-tsv" pattern used by the SSU and Russia in the early 90's and regular Soviet field gear and armor, but had had applied local vegetation prior to the mission to assist in breaking up their outlines which were almost synchronized as they moved low to the ground one squad at a time, covering each bound.

With confirmation that hostilities had taken place at the border, in the cities an automated system notified the population of mandatory curfew and that the Interior Troops would mobilize into cities and surrounding areas to defend them, while the Soviet Armed Forces went into high alert and - in particular along Polish border - prepared for hostilities. With the Premier away at summit, the First Deputy Premier was temporarily in charge, debating how the conflict would be carried out with the different ministers, generals and regional senators(who at this stage had no say in matters but still talked about what should be done).

Veblensk Central Command Center

"This is a sign that you communists have dragged our nation too far down, we must negotiate and then reestablish our government as a legitimate institution!"

"As what, a theocratic Nationalist wasteland? It's bad enough with rampant terrorism in your region that we have to commit almost 2% of the Army, let alone countless Interior servicemen just to keep your kind from killing each other over simple disagreements, or bombing the capital. We should have wiped you out in the 90's."

"This arguing isn't helping, we are going to beat back the invaders, establishing that we will not submit to foreign aggression. If needed, we will make deep incursions and strikes into the Polish homeland following our Conventional Conflict in Slavija protocol."

A hologram map showed an 80's geographic map for a second with moving markers that would have indicated soviet land, sea and air forces moving around.

"updated for today, and it looks like this."

The hologram stuttered for a second, and then it showed the current year and borderlines. The operational map had also adjusted, showing locations that would be necessary.

"Replace the theater level nuclear weapons with tactical thermobaric missiles that we have used in previous conflicts, and you have an operation that could cut through their land in days."

"And what about the rumors of Chinese involvement? satellites have confirmed that they have been moving lots of equipment and supplies through Russia and Poland, and have apparently been constructing bases and airfields."

"We'll fight them too if it comes to it. Operations inside Russia are authorized if needed.

"Some OMON departments reported that there's been an influx of "volunteers" looking to fight in the conflict for reasons unknown. Against their advice they're being sent to towns on the border to support VV MVD, who have been told to shoot them if they are uncontrollable or hazardous.

Russo-Polish Border
7th National Legion

The soldiers were nearing the Chernobyl territory. While they were riding in their armored cars, trucks and humvees they were singing the Kleomentian anthem and some local battle songs. The General leading the legion was General Jovan. He was a bit worried because he did not know what to expect at the battlefield. They never fought against a soviet nation, they did not know how the Chernobylians will fight. It was something new to them. Jovan had to remain calm so that he's soldiers do not sense anything that may bring their moral down. They stopped in front of a Polish military fort and then General Jovan yelled on polish:"Przyjaciele! Oto Serbów, nie strzelaj! Przychodzimy do Ciebie o pomoc, niech nas!" He learned Polish in his years in the military and was in Polska a lot of times to help them. He waited patiently for the Pols to react while the legion was happy that they reached their allies and that they can rest a bit now.

Polish-Chernobyl Border

There was a hill over looking the polish position, the first group of SRR volunteers took their position on it. Snipers began to take their aim at some of the poles, their uniforms made them rather easy targets. "Whats your name boy?"
"Ah, Peter...ser!"

"Mine is Ivan. Your going take the first shot, so you better make it count for something, take this SV-98."

"Umm...okay. I'll do my best"

Peter took the rifle nervously and began to aim at one of the polish solider s by a tree, taking a deep breath he carefully aimed his rife at the man's head. What was less than a seconds seemed like an entirety to him, he wasn't sure that he could take anther men's life. Sure it seemed easy to say he could kill for a great cause, but to do it was different. There was no turning back now though, he squeezed the trigger and quickly closed his eyes, unable to bring himself to see dead man's face.
The Major let out a sigh as he saw the boy close his eyes and muttered to himself, "I'll a solider out of you yet". Less than a second after Peter took the first shot, several more rounds of fire came from professional snipers. A hail of bullets than flew onto the Polish position from PKP and PKM gunners. A T-72 made its way around the hill and fired its main cannon where it look like a squad of polish troops were taken cover. A squad got off the tank and begam opening fire from their AK-47s on the Poles.

Polish-Chernobl Border:
"Przyjaciele! Oto Serbów, nie strzelaj! Przychodzimy do Ciebie o pomoc, niech nas!" a voice with a strong serb accent broke through the gunfire. Kleomentian reinforcements! The battle was almost certainly in Magna Tres hands. Until one shot, stronger then the others, broke the medium.
A sniper shot, tellingly ametuer, pierced Tolys' stalowe ostrze, a pikelhaube/stahlhelm hybrid. A sharp screech of metal on metal then the thud of the bullet cracking the skull. A small gush of blood spewed from the brave soldier, but ended quickly. He fell back. "Tolys!" Raivis shouted, rushing over. His best friend...the chuckling, optimistic, merciful Corporal, dead in a second. A tear traced his face. "Poilsio ... poilsio taikos, senas draugas. Dievas laukia," he said shakily in lithuanian, Tolys' home language.
But the sorrow was not for long. Russian troops- not of Chernobl, rushed over the hill, machine guns spewing. "Kryć się!" Taduesz shouted, taking cover behind a military vehicle.

All Across the Polish-Chernobl Border:
All along the border, the Polish-Lithuanian Army mobilized: The Latvian 1st and 2nd Armies, the Lithuanian 3rd, 4th, and 5th armies, the 8th Teutonic Corps, the 7th, 9th, and 10th Polish Army, as well as the 11th and 12th Galician Armies, rushed across the border, tanks and transports, horses and carriages, choppers and jets, all poured over the border, ready to crush any and all opposition.

Meanwhile, the 3rd Lithaunian Air Squadron, the Skraidymas Lapės, a secret, advanced group of stealth bombers, raced in the upper atmosphere, well out of most planes', and AA weapons', range. There target: Veblensk. It would be the first of many air raids on the doomed city until the armies reached it. The planes were advanced by others standards; part of the Polish-Lithuanian Army's modernization initiative. With it and the advanced Anti-Aircraft System nearly complete, Poland was an impregnable fortress of a nation, ready to strike fear whenever needed. And such was the mission of Ouros Matroskas, pilot of the Naktį Pelėda, right wingman of the squadron.

Jovan heard the gunfire and ordered his troops to help the Pols. The Serbs rushed into the battle taking positions. Still, while they were taking positions they lost some men. They were doing their best to stop the enemy. It seemed that the enemy that was coming will never stop. Jovan ordered to post cannons on a hill near the battlefield. Captain Jakov was leading the men that were taking the cannons to the hill. It really hard, firstly because the cannons were heavy and secondly cause they were under heavy fire. Jakov didn't loose hope and he continued to the hill. When they were almost at the top a cannon was destroyed by an RPG. It was a heavy destroyer cannon, they had only 2 of those now. Finally, they climbed up and posted the cannons. Jakov took a radio and said:"General, we posted the cannons. Waiting for further orders, over." A voice came from the radio:"Good, now. Do you see that battalion of machine guns?"

"Yes sir."

"Shoot at them, they are causing us much loses."

"Alright sir. We are getting ready."

"Good."

It was really hard to see the soldiers on the battlefield because of the smoke that was on it. Finally they had a clear shot at the machine gunners. And just as Jakov was to say the last coordinates he got hit by a sniper. Blood sprayed out his chest. He was screaming in pain:"Help me! I'm shot!" A medic came to him but it was too late. He lost too much blood. He became white, well at least the parts that were not covered in blood. Sergeant Piotrk took the radio, he was not specified to shoot from the cannons and didn't know what to do but to call the General, and yelled at it:"General, the Captain is dead! He's been shot by a sniper and he's dead."

"Damn, hold on! I'm sending another Captain."

"Yes, sir!"

Now it was a question of time if the Captain will come in time to shoot the machine gunners before they kill most of the Kleomentian army.

The United States of America
Washington DC - 2016

Slavija had never been an area of interest for the United States; aside from the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Kuoming, they had few relations with many of the Ex-Soviet and still Communist nations in the greater regional area. They also made no attempts to strengthen such bonds, Leftists were leftists and even in the modern world where America was increasingly more liberal; they'd never associate with their venerated second enemy, the Soviet Communist archetype.

The Laoist Archetype they dealt with in the PRC; allied to them and economies so intertwined it was figured that they would never challenge one another on the field of open combat. That assumption had been partially correct; with the exception of Kuoming which America was determined to keep the independence of an open reality, and not under the "Three Systems, One Nation" theme that the PRC intended.

In other areas, America agreed with the Chinese on a few points. Soviet Communist needed to go; that was their own excuse but they agreed with the Chinese on another level. America was a land of many different peoples, ways of life and beliefs; a melting pot of all cultures, and the one thing they could not stand; at least on paper; was the idea of any one peoples being higher of existence than another. Slavija embodied that very dislike; like Nazi Germany before them they venerated their race as the superior race, they forwarded their own cultural goals and abused and discarded the values of others and the United States would never tolerate that.

Their battle with extremism of the religious kind ended long ago; now the American people with a mixture of confusion and partial rage armed themselves again, because yet again; there was some bastard out there who challenged that he was superior than the rest. So; America yet again became the demon in the night, yet again they set off to put down another idiot, or in this case a group of idiots.

Polish-Chernobyl Border

The T-72 opened fire with on a military a Polish military vehicle, where it saw some Polish troops taking cover. Hoping to take advantage of disorganization of the Poles after the tank opened fire on their vehicle, several groups of SRR volunteers began to swarm the area where the Polish troops were taking cover, burs fire from their AK-74s. Peter took up his SV-98 again and aimed nervously once again, he was told by the Major he killed what looked like a Polish officer and was in disbelief. He saw a Polish solider firing on a group of friendlies and deiced that would be his next target. He took a deep breath and zoned tried to zone everything out, than he fired. This time he held his eyes open to see if he made the shot that could of saved some of his brothers lives.

"Umm...sir...you may want to look at this for yourself"

"Whats the problem now" Give me those!" What...are those cannons?! Why haven't they opne fired on us? No matter, disbale them now!! This would be so much easier if he had air support damn it."

Snipers and two PKM gunners began to open fire on the men near the cannons on the hill. RPG fire on the opposing hill quickly followed. The major order that the hill than be taken, giving them even more of a tactical advantage. Two BTR-80s, with troops taking cover by them, began to advance over to the opposing hill. The cannon bombarded the hill while troops opened fire a hail of machine gun fire. Groups went around both sides of the hill in order to try and overwhelm the Kleomentiam forces on the hill. Meanwhile the main bulk of SRR volanteers began to move on the battlefield giving more firing support.

Command Center

"Is our plan ready to be set in motion?"

"Yes sir, the fleet is already on its way. It won't be long till not only do we force the Polish out of their invasion of Chernobyl-Pripyat, but bring them into our glorious Union!"

"Good, we'll reduce Kleomentia after the invasion begins. I trust our plans are ready incase of a Chinese attack? "

"Absolutely."

The Soviet Russia Republic began to send a massive invasion fleet towards Polska rzczpolspolita, taking advantage of its armies being split up. Not only did it seek to end their invasion of Chernobyl, but to force Polska into joining the Russian Union. Fleet Admiral of the Soviet Union Peter aircraft carrier was leading the invasion fleet, all ships were on full alert.

Polish-Chernobl Border:
The next sniper shot nicked Raivis. He reeled from the stopping power, however. He pulled himself back up, "Sergeant! Cover me!" he shouted, rushing forward. "Corporal! What are you doing!?" Kaz shouted, about to rush after him, but Tad held him back. "Tolys was his best friend. He needs to do this," he said calmly, firing off a burst as Cannonfire began.

Raivis continued to rush up to where the sniper had been. He would pay for killing Tolys...pay dearly.
He rushed up the hill, slicing his spotter with his bayonet before turning to the sniper....who was only a boy, barely 16. "Ne...Es nevaru nogalināt zēns," he said, dropping to his knees. He couldn't take some poor child's life. Some misguided boy thinking of the glory war would bring him prestige. "Vypolnitʹ. Peryeĭti prezhde, chem ya izmenyu svoe mnenie , malysh," he said tearing up. "Vyponit' syechas!"

Then, the rotary whir of a chopper came in... an A78 Comanche Warbird...back-up.
"501st Squadron this is the 8563S. Be advised, engaging contacts A.W.P. Take cover. Tad's eyes widened. Raivis would be caught in the fire.
"Corporal Tornimas, get back here now! That's an order!" He shouted. Raivis, horrified at the proximity of fire, dashed into Kleomentian lines, tumbling through them. Of course, he caught some dangerous glances. DId they think he was Russian?
"Ах! Не пуцај! Ја сам пољски! Имам родбину у Београду! Не пуцај! Озбиљно, нисам ни подофицире! Шта је забава у убиство мале ранкер! Молим вас немојте ме пуцајте!" he shouted, fumbling backward.

Polish Command Center, Brest-Litowsk:
"As you can see, the Soviets have began a mass exodus, seemingly towards Chernobl. However, what little intel we have on the country suggests they may be en route to us," the Generalissimus said. "Either way, we should neutralize them before they become a threat."
"Tak," the President agreed. "Send the Deszret Fleet to intercept them. They should be powerful enough to hold them off."

Soq 'Vik, Polish Khanate:
The great Khanic fleet launched, in all of its deadly glory. 2 carriers, 5 Pocketships, 3 U-Boats, 4 corvettes, and a Boarder ship all launched, ready to reek havoc upon the Russian fleet in only a day.

Polish-Chernobl Border

With a slow and deliberate grace one of the two Chinese marksmen rose his SVD, scanning the battle for the intermittedly fired sniper shots from the Soviets that were putting up more resistance than intitially expected. Sucking in a careful breath as the sniper fell into his crosshairs the Han soldier managed to watch the Polish soldier who ran upon him collapse, and that was the moment he fired; the shell if it impacted would've hollowed out the boy's frontal lobe, instant death would've swiftly followed.

In the field below; the smaller Chinese platoons that fought with the Polish were holding their line well against the Soviets, whose tank was the only major threat to them currently; and it was soon to be dealt with. From over the hill came the hulking form of the Chinese armor, the Type-99KM let out a bellow of flame and smoke; the smell of fire and gunpowder evident everywhere and all noise was drown out as the massive 125mm shell gutted the Soviet T-72 like it was made of paper, the archaic Vanguard of the Revolution as it was once hailed was ancient and useless here on the modern field of battle.

Alas, that was not all; either. The hills rumbled with the coming of the Chinese Vanguard, as the Type-69 MBTs of the 3rd Tank Brigade came rolling unto the field of battle; they did not fire hapazedously either, their cannons taking carefully aimed shots at large groupings of Soviet troopers while machine guns hit anything that wasn't in a Polish, Kleomentian or Chinese uniform. With them in tandem came the many BTR-60s of the 32nd Rifle Brigade; this small battle had turned into a large one; though it was still insignificant on the grand scale of things; disgorging their infantry the APC's joined in the fray, firing their light weapons as the Chinese infantry carried the momentum of their charge into the Soviet lines!

Raivis looked at the Han. The chinese really desensitized them to violence. "Tu ... tu viņu nogalināja .. šis zēns .." he muttered, before being snapped out of his trance by cannonfire.

Seeing the chinese soldiers rushing, similar to the polish Smierc szarżę, where entire regiments of soldiers would rush forward into enemy lines. "Oj, Kapral! Tutaj!" Raivis dashed over, stumbling to a crouch. "Na mój. Gotowi? Jeden ... dwa .. trzy .. opłat!" he shouted, bayonet fixed, gun blazing. Raivis and Kaz soon followed suit. "Bóg, Honor i Ojczyzna! Niech żyje Polska!" Taduesz shouted, followed by the echo of 'Niech żyje Polska' behind him.

Deciding the charge would fail without Kleomentian support, he called out: "Ои, српске браће! Пуните, пратите гримизни заставу Хана до победе! Живела Велика Три!"

As the Soviet Russian paramilitaries had open fired unauthorized, the radio chatter between Chernobylskayan forces spiked as they tried to figure out who started shooting. Once it was obvious the enemy had begun advancing, barrages of rockets and shells began firing at predetermined and random positions along the border, in particular the location of the Soviet paramilitaries. The fire was rather indiscriminate - their spotter did not have a precise visual and had simply stated that "they were everywhere" and that "the Soviet paramilitaries were in a real clusterfuck"

The Rapid Reaction Brigades began to advance to back up border guard units who had now started reporting that they were under fire from many locations along the border. Moving in forward assault formations spearheaded by T-80UM tanks upgraded under the "Rogatka" program, the BMP-2D would slow as their occupants exited, moving in fireteams of 3 or 4 trailing behind the vehicles on either side. The armor scanned for targets, keeping a loaded general use 3BK29M HEAT round loaded. They soon caught up to the border guard assault troops whos BTRs were pulled off the road and dismounts behind cover, waiting for the enemy to approach them. Audible small arms fire and tank gun reports were startling to most of the soldiers, as for many this would be their first real combat experience. Many of the NCO and officers had however fought the Polish in the past, or had a few tours in troubled regions.

"This is Polkovnik Ryzhkov - prepare for head on contact. Fire support is available, there is threat of enemy air power."

After hearing radio message and several cracks of bullets overhead Starshii Serzhant Samilev knocked the stock of his AK on the hatch of the BMP he was riding on, getting the commanders attention who was occupied scanning for targets.

"We'll get off here, give us a warning before you start shooting, eh?"

Samilevs unit had recently been transferred to the region, rotating with a local one who was now in the middle of nowhere fighting bandits with minimal support. They expected simple daily duties, but now were to fight on the front lines. Despite having given the order to get out of the BMP earlier, they had found it difficult to keep up with the machine as it cut through the grass and bushes. As they usually did, they were riding on top while while it provided no protection from small arms, they had a better view of their surroundings and could react to hostile fire much faster. It jolted to a sudden stop, and his squad hopped off and began fanning around, shouting at each other over the loud engines of nearby vehicles. He was about to say something to the grunt near him when suddenly on of the supporting tanks open fired with its main gun at a target around 4-500 meters away, before quickly loading another shell of the same type and firing again.

"Contact!"

The truck stopped short, the rear door swung open and several armor clad soldiers jumped out of the truck, AR-15's and sheer black M16's glistened in the white moonlight as they double timed towards the crumbling intelligence bunker fifty yards in front of them. In the rear of the infantry column was an armor clad soldier, green and red. CT-43/002, dubbed 'Aristotle' early on in his development, after his incredible intelligence. He wore an olive drab poncho over his old, cracking armor. He carried a portable rocket launcher - A PLX-01 Portable Launcher - on his back and two rapid-fire machine pistols on his hips. He walked with a limp, he'd lost a good chunk of his leg in a previous battle during the Summertime Wars.

"Aristotle..." a whisper in the back of his ear. It poked his brains.
"What now? ..." he whispered back. He started to grab at the back of the helmet.

"Sir? Are you all right?" 'Dead-Meat' the fresh private turned to see him clawing at his helmet. "Yes private, I'm alright. My audio filters are jacked again. I need to see Claire for a fix." the Private nodded and slung his rifle back onto his shoulder. "I'll see you inside, then, sir." Aristotle waved the man off and tapped at his audio filters, whispering, "1, 2, 3 ... 1, 2, 3 ..." It gave a whizzing response and and he smiled under his helmet. "Good..." He picked up his grenade rifle and slung it over his shoulder. He looked at his wrist and started walking. The heavy metal door was left ajar, presumably by 'Dead-Meat'. 'Aristotle' shook his head and cursed the private, closing the door behind him. "Claire! I need you!"

The tall, slender woman almost walked right into him, spilling rifle grease all over herself and 'Aristotle', "Ah shit, hehe, clumsy bitch aren't you?" Claire crumpled her brow and pushed the soldier back, "Whatta you need, dear?" the soldier took his helmet off and handed it to her, "My audio filters aren't working one-hundred-percent. Fix them for me?" Claire nodded and took the helmet, "Oh sure thang dear. Oh - and, before I forget, you're needed in the briefing room." She waved goodbye and pushed past him. The rest of the team was assembled in the briefing room, listening carefully to an older man talking slowly about current events, "-The invasion of Chernobyl is for the most part a dangerous situation. Its a precarious situation, definitely. We're with an invasion that can destabilize our region. You boys might be sent in, strictly as a peacekeeping presence in the area, to attempt to diffuse the situation and end the conflict."

"Right... When do we know for sure, General?" 'Aristotle' said quietly. The General, and the men looking at him turned towards him. "Soon, trooper. Soon."

Corporal Jovan couldn't wait for the Captain. He asked an private that was on the cannon:"See that hill with Russian over there?"

"Yes sir. What with it?"

"I want you to order all of the cannons to shoot at those coordinates. Do you think you can do that?"

"Yes sir."

"Good, now get to work"

The private knew how the coordinates worked and ordered the cannons to fire at the Russians. Giant cannons shots could be heard very loudly on the battlefield. The private wasn't sure if he hit the Russians since he never ordered the coordinates. He was praying to God that he did not miss, cause if he missed than the Kleomentian forces that were fig thing would be in danger. They waited for the smoke to be gone so they can see if they hit them.

Meanwhile General Jovan heard the Polish yell:"Ои, српске браће! Пуните, пратите гримизни заставу Хана до победе! Живела Велика Три!" He then shouted:"Срби! Данас ће мо се борити за наше пријатеље, за наш народ и за част наше нације! Немојте се бојати, јер је страх само илузија! Нема повлачења! Нема предаје! За цара и отаџбину!" The Kleomentian forces than charged with their Polish and Chinese brothers. The charge was followed by cannon fire from the Kleomentian cannons.

Polish-Chernobyl Border

The Major observing the battlefield, trying to keep a look out for the boy, notice a sniper looking right at Peter. He yelled at him, “Peter get down now!” Peter quickly rolled down, a sniper bullet went right by him as he did this, striking a fellow volunteer in the chest, killing him. Peter could barley speak for a few moments and went thanked the major repeatedly. The Major nodded and told him go to the rear and wait for him.

A great explosion drowned the sound of gunfire for a moment, the T-72 that was firing on Polish forces was destroyed by Chinese forces. The two BTR-80s quickly backed up, while still firing on Polish and Chinese forces, to try and escape from being the Type-99KM’s next victim. The major ordered RPG teams to take out the Chinese amour and PKP gunners to shift their attention to the Chinese soldiers. The Major was about to call for all armored support to engage the Chinese amour but he than a younger solider yelled in his ear, “Sir! You here that? We need to get down now!" Barrages of rocket and shell fire lit up the whole battlefield, including paramilitaries positions. The Two BTR-80s trying to flee from the Chinesse now fell victim from the rockets of the very people they were trying to save from being massacred. Large cluster of volunteers were killed and many more injured, their lines began to break. "Damn it!", the major began screaming, "All forces fall back and regroup in the nearest town!"

The massive invasion fleet continued to crawl its way towards Polska rzczpolspolita. Three project 971M attack submarines were 350 km in front of the fleet scanning for Polska navel warships, two were on the left side of the fleet and one on the right side. Two Yasen class submarine also were there supporting them. All Ships were on full alert for any attack, which was expected as they neared the coast, and MiG-29K patrolled the skies waiting for Polska war planes to attack at any moment.

Polish-Chernobylskyan Border

"Duck this time..." The Sniper whispered to himself even in the admists of the rocket barrage; another resounding crack coming from his rifle aimed for the boy-sniper. In the forward area away from the marksmen came the surge of the Han Armored unit, the Type-99 spearheading the way for the Type-69s as the rocket barrage rained down upon them; with all the tenacity of fatalist Prussian infantry units, they charged on anyway as the Soviets were massacred by their own fire support as much as the Han were, though the Han didn't nearly as badly feel the sting.

The Type-99 came to a sudden and abrupt halt seconds later however; as it's weakened armor was penetrated by the Chernobylskyan armor, the second shell slamming into a Type-69; both skidded to a halt, billowing thick black smoke before exploding with a fury as their ammunition cooked off sending flaming shrapnel and plates of metal in every direction massacring without discrimination.

Then came the battle cry as the field commander of the Han noticed the weakening in the Soviet lines, even if it wasn't the Chernobylsykans. "Forward for the State! erupted from the Han troopers; normally forbidden from such stupidity the sheer intimidation factor could possibly drive the already retreating Soviets into an absolute route. As the infantry did this, the Type-69s that remained turned their attention to the Chernobylskyans, a few of them firing off a stagnant volley from motionless positions, while others fired erratically while on the move...

RSS James S. Patterson
James Patterson-class Heavy Battleship
Interregional Waters

Ideological changes or no; there were somethings that Estainians just never learned and that was evident in this vessel and the various similar ships that followed it. It new and it was old at the same time. It escaped the shipyards at Novograd just as the Western Empire seized the port from the fallen Eastern Republic. The James S. Patterson was the namesake of a man who would've never put up with such megalomaniac-tendencies in his long lifetime, despite the personality cult that rose around his image in his death. The huge bronze edifice in Valingrad in the fallen Republic's former territory was enough to say that while they'd replaced the Goddess with the State; they'd obviously created another God out of a man. Three turrets of four 18" main guns lined the megalithic vessel, streamlined and heavy with arms; Tomahawk missile launchers hung heavily on the reinforced barbettes that in an Imperial Estainian fleet, it would've been absolute sacrilege to put such dishonorable things on a proper vessel of war. But the Saracen fleets of the fallen Eastern Republic didn't give a damn about honour, it was all about forwarding the revolution, all about toppling their old nemesis; their brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers; blood feud gave death to the idealism of the Russo-Spanish bloodline when it had been transported to Sieen.

But today, they were not fighting the Empire; that time was yet to come in the distant future when their might was so amassed that the Empire would bow in humility and sorrow as it was rent apart by the will of her own people! No; today they fought the Empire's allies, the Empire's puppets and vassals. Slavija was a disgusting conglomeration of Soviet Communism, it was not communalism! It was a lie! A sham and a disgrace to the international revolution! With their monarchies and their republics that the Soviet Republics gave leeway to exist, the Russian Federation; the abortive successor state of the Russian Union State where it had all started! They needed to be pruged...For the glory of the Neo-Pattersonist and Neo-Bolshevist Ideal that this vessel would carry forward, Forward for the State; comrade! Forward for the State!

2nd Company's supporting T-80UMs had now taken positions at the crest of the hill - lead tank had taken numerous hits from the Type-69s, all sorts of alarms blaring inside the vehicle as they were immobilized due to a thrown track from a shell that hit the forward fender. The reactive armor on the turret and hull front provided some protection, but a stray shells hit an ammunition stowage container on the side of the turret. The resulting explosion knocked out the engine and ignited the fuel tanks on the right side of the tank. Fire suppression systems were on full blast, but were having some trouble as isolated unexploded shells continued to go off, having killed a handful of nearby grunts nobody was quick to tray and assist in putting out the fire. The driver opened his hatch to attempt to get the others out of the tank, the gunners hatch opening with a beat-up looking man crawling out away from the fire that covered the engine deck and side of the tank. While pulling the injured commander out another shell cooked off killing the men in an instant.

The other tanks began firing shells into the Type-69s as they advanced on the fleeing Soviet soldiers, who were moving towards 1st Company near a village that was in the process of evacuation. 2nd Companys dismounts had taken positions at the top of the hill, firing long bursts of machine gun fire and single aimed shots at the advancing enemy from about 45 degrees to their immediate heading.

""Center" this is 2nd, we've got a knocked out tank, 7 KIA and 5 wounded. Enemy forces are numerous and on a bearing towards 3rds position near town "Oleksandrivka", what options do we have, over?" Kapitan Malyshev barked over the radio as his immidate position has strafed with shells from an enemy who seemingly had no interest in moving their direction. He didn't want to risk the BMPs to disadvantaged positions if the enemy was going to ignore them and instead pursue the routed Soviet volunteers.

"2nd this is "Center", regroup on 3rds southern flank and wait for further details. "Center" out."

That was helpful.. He thought. "Grab the wounded and dead, we're ordered to reinforce 3rd."

The small arms fire began to cease as they peeled off by squad, the T-80s last to break off. They would move full speed to reinforce 3rd, covering their backwards movement with an overwatch maneuver modified to cover pulling back rather then advancing.

--

The Northern Fleet had long been dry-docked for repairs, with the only functional ships being an aircraft carrier and a handful of missile frigates. The submarine fleet however was constantly maintained and were ordered to sit around territorial boundaries and seek out and kill Polish vessels.

Presidential Complex - Belgrade - Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia

President Branko Mikulic looked at the regional map of Slavija, an ice cold glass of whiskey in his hand. It seemed that the region had yet again erupted into conflict, turning he faced his Defence and Foreign Minister who had called into a meeting as soon as he had heard the news from his Intelligence Officer.

"The Yugoslav Intelligence Agency just informed me that Chernobyl-Pripyat is currently being invaded by a coalition of Chinese and Polish forces. Our position in this conflict could be crucial to the role this country plays in the region" The President said sitting down in the chair positioned in front of his desk.

Ivo Andric started talking first, the Yugoslav Foreign Minister was a extremely intelligent individual having won several national and international awards for his written work before he was convinced to enter politics and turn his patient manner and intelligence towards the diplomatic table.

"I propose that we come to the defence of Chernobyl. Although their economy has been under-performing for some time, they do have a large market that Yugoslav Companies working for the state could exploit, that and it would increase our credibility in the international community, supporting the integrity of a nations sovereign boarders" Ivo finished before allowing the Defence Minister Neda Arneric speak, a Former General in the Yugoslav Army he was known for his direct and often undiplomatic approach

"I agree with the Foreign Minister, although for different reasons. One of the first stages of the modernization of the Yugoslav Army was just completed including the long awaited purchase of new armour, testing these weapons on the battlefield would be a great way to establish how efficiently these improvements are getting along" the Defence Minister said, the room going silent for several minutes as the President weighed his options.

"Very well Comrades. Activate the force needed to assist Chernobyl. I'll send the communication"

Polish-Chernobl Border:
"Aha! The russian rats are falling back! Push the advance men!" the Captain yelled.
As he spoke, more Polish soldiers, 2 companies in total, came out of the woodwork, firing rapidly. One company came to pursue the Russians; the other was dashing to flank the Chernoblaskayan forces before they could move.
Meanwhile, a similar seen erupted across the border. Armies pushed forward, taking no prisoners, paying the half-russians for their occupation so many decades ago. Key command points were to be captured as soon as possible; followed by a pincer movement for Veblensk.
Map of Invasion.

"Contacts left flank! Defensive positions!"

While many were startled by the charging Lechian forces, their morale was settled when the BMPs opened up as they cleared the woodwork, saturating them with all weapons firing - among them some had been rigged with an electronically fired AGS-30 which fired in short sweeping bursts. Infantry still on the hill repositioned themselves to combat the Lechians as well as defend against any Chinese soldiers that could possible attack. They had enough ammunition for a few hours of heavy fighting with no resupply, but the Kapitan began requesting any gunship support available to cover their movement. Squad snipers were given the order to target enemy support weapon operators along with radio personnel - anyone who looked important to the assault on their position was to get a round in the chest. Remaining T-80UM would mostly scan for hard targets, but on occasion would fire off a fragmentation shell or machine gun burst.

Across the border, first lines were routed or destroyed - it was when they reached further in they would be subjected to heavy fire from camouflaged, dug in or sometimes at close range in the woods. The Armys T-80U and T-90A tanks had semi fortified positions on elevated positions, taking pot shots until their presence was known, then falling back on another line. These field units were deployed with all supporting detachments - Tunguska-M2 systems scanned for enemy air power with assistance from S-300VM. Artillery support was provided mainly by 2S3M1 self propelled artillery, BM-21 "Grad" MRLS and 120mm mortars. Typical barrage would be a 3-10 minute barrage, then they would pull back to another position. Along some roads and villages ambushes were planned involving "EFP" mines(can be mounted on nearly any surface with bolts to target to tops of armor if needed, normally laid to blast through the sides of vehicles) , heavy machine guns and mobile hunter-killer squads with RPGs who would lie in wait until they could cause as much damage as quickly as possible.

The Chernobylskayan VVS began scrambling into the sky to take air superiority over areas that were reporting attacks, similarly strike fighters would fly combat patrols and respond to request for air support when gunships were unable to reach in time/out of range or had been downed.

Polish-Chernobylskyan Border

The radio of the Lt. Colonel in the field crackled to life with an order from the General miles behind them. "Leave them a way out."
The message was fairly simple, and not overly confusing. This was but the first push; and it was becoming obvious the area was taken for the most part, though resistance remained while the half-Russians still drew breath; it was fairly easy to discern that they were mostly broken, and to encircle them would cause them to fight like Greeks. The Chinese concentrated their fire on the forces in their immediate area; shockingly unlike the Polish they did not make a further attempt into the country. General Zhou understood an important point of modern warfare that his allies obviously did not; blitzing the enemy did not work any more.

"Commence operational withdrawal." His voice crackled over the radio again as the Lt. Colonel responded with a "What?"

"The Polish and Kleomentians can handle this broken rabble; we must ascertain the damage to our units, tend to our wounded and inter our dead." General Zhou was not exactly a humanitarian but he knew there was one thing that no matter how elite the army was all important; morale. His men had just spent a few hours being shot at, shelled and machine gunned; they were not for any reason in the best of state. "The People's Liberation Army Air Force will take over for our slack in the mean time. Withdraw from the border."

A murmured yessir came before the Chinese despite their overwhelming numbers began to eek in the direction they came from; hastily the Type 69s pulled off final shots as BTR-60s gathered their troopers, and others collected the dying while medical officers attended to them in field as best they could. In a matter of minutes what had been an advancing organized horde was a very visibly retreating organized horde.

In the skies above finally, finally came the sleek bodies of the various Ju-class jet planes; from multi-role fighter/bombers to dedicated aerial assault and dedicated ground assault vehicles they didn't quite fill the skies but they were an impressive and near-instant sight on both radar and for the eyes. Multirole and ground assault planes vectored off to hunt the Chernobylskyan anti-air grid, targeting radar alignments, SAM sites; mobile AAA guns, stagnant AAA guns; anything and everything that fire at things that flew while aerial superiority jets swiftly made a point of targeting any Chernobylskyan aircraft they could find.
