The Dragon's Roar [Att'n Slavija - Invasion of Chernobyl]

Postby New Federation China » Thu Sep 08, 2011 11:17 am

The People's Republic of China
Mongolian Border Region - Russo-Chinese Border
Slavija - 2016

The years of planning this meticulous operation had finally paid off as the pen flowed over the paper, Dimitri Yulianov's signature more beautiful than all the art of the world; and more valuable than all it's gold. The Russian President's name was soon joined by the signature of the President-General; her hand flowing over the paper with ecstasy and near-europhia.

Outside of their little bunker, where they two exchanged signatures on the Russo-Chinese Non-Aggression Pact was the First Guards Armored Division; the Beijing Iron Dragons; poised to thrust through, peacefully; the Russian Motherland and plow through Slavija without any sort of mercy to any one nation.

The Type-99KM main battle tanks in long rows; one of the most advanced armored pieces on Earth; it would swat aside the enemy with ease. Finally; words cut the silence as the elder Russian statesmen spoke; his voice baritone and powerful.

"With this treaty, we agree to stay out of your way; nothing more. We'll not help you, and I am sure you understand the implications of what would happen should Russian citizens be harmed..." His words were heavy with promise, not threat. The President-General gave a knowing dark smile and nodded softly.

"Russia and her citizenry will not be harmed. We'll stick to our end of the bargain; so long as you stay out of the way; as you so eloquently put." Li Ming's ancient voice was not kindly, nor very heavy; light and feminine it was a voice that'd never seen hard work; only political machinations, seductive even in it's great age of ninety.

"Forward for the State, comrade?" She asked with a grin; as the Russian President stood to leave.

Yulianov held out a hand, which she stood and shook as he responded. "Forward for the State."

Five Weeks, Three Days, Thirteen Hours and Twenty Seven Minutes Later.
Russo-Slavijan-European Border

Weeks of moving through Russia in the dead of summer made it easy for the massive conglomeration of the Chinese Army to move from Asia to Slavijan-Europe with ease; unopposed by the Russian Army, who kept to their bases, though the Chinese noted with suspicion the sleek bodies of MiG-29 and Su-35s that broke the airspace ever so often over top of them.

Columns of transports, logistical vessels, armored vehicles and support vehicles following one another. If no one by now had figured out what was going on, they were simply put dumbasses, but with the level of near-absolute pacifism in Slavija, the Chinese did not expect overly aggressive amounts of resistance, even after they left Mother Russia behind, their supply lines remaining in the nation to move material from China to the European Fronts, safeguarded by Russia and untouchable as such.

The Great Migration; it was. Oh look, there was the only border that knew they were coming after all these weeks.

Russo-Polish Border
First Guards Tank Division
Type 99KM Main Battle Tanks+100th Guards Rifle Division

The first unit as seperated from the People's Liberation Army to come into Slavijan-Europe proper was the First Guards Tank Division, and their infantry supporting element, the One Hundredth Guards Rifle Division; for the grand glorious total of two hundred and fifty main battle tanks, and 12,000 Han soldiers; along with an assortment of supporting elements. String after string of heavily encrypted messages were sent to the Polish Republic; the only friend China had in all the region; as so to prepare them for the influx of troops in the coming days out of Russia.

These troops along with the Polish were the Vanguard of the coming armed revolution against the greater region; together the two nations intended a single goal; to divide and conquer the whole of Slavija. Not as illustrious or as grand as people may have thought, either; the region for all it's unity was more divided than ever; as was evident with it's great defender agreeing to stand by and watch the slaughter with stony eyes.

The first target along this great list would be the great military power of Slavija, while Russia was no doubt strong; the one who truly called the shots would be the first to fall, Chernobyl-Pripyat, the last remaining Soviet Republic of the Slavijan Soviet Union; the anti to the Russian Union State and People's Republic; the Chinese Dragon had long standing greviances; unspoken between itself and the Chernobylskyan state; and now they finally moved to act upon them. This would come slowly though, as Poland would first need to be reinforced; written off as a military exercise between allies, no one else would see it coming before the hammer fall fell hard down upon the last SSU state; breaking at last the ghost of an unfriendly memory.

Whence that was completed; the attentions of China and Poland would turn to Central Slavia, conquering that nation before moving unto the next, and the next. The practice of this over the theory of course would differ, but the final result would remain the same in the end, the two allies would be victorious, of course.

The Russo-Polish Border, 'Sino-Polish Training Excersizes'- The Kontrowski Base
The Polish 4th Army was a formidable force; 500 men in total. A hundred Prussian Teutonic Knights, 2 hundred Lithuanians, and a hundred Poles. 2 squads of the Service for Poland's victory were also present as an add-on corps.
With it, 5 other armies stood in the vicinity of Kontrowski. Nearly 1200 soldiers in total. And that was meant to be the spearhead of the top-secret 'Operacja: Smoczej Reyk'. Operation Dragon's Roar.
The procedures to keep Poland safe during the Chernobl campaign had been taken; all flights and trains to Komen, Chernobl, Central Slavia and any other Slavijan country on the proverbial and literal 'hit list' of the PRL.
The Ambassador to Chernobl was ready to deliver the declaration of war at the moment that boots hit the ground (In reality, well after). Rationing wasn't an immediate concern; Russia was neutral to China which meant they could easily import what they didn't have enough of. China could easily provide.
The average polak was sitting at home, awaiting a special address from the President. It would come with a bang.

And so, as the Chinese Armies set foot on Polish land, the men on duty gave them a cordial "Ḑien Dobrej!" General Konrad Monszauf stood to address the Commander of the Chinese forces.
Szowmanow Airfield, Lithuania:
Meanwhile, Polish scientists had perfected the fiery weapon the Hand of Dadzbog. The missile was a terrifying thing; it was non nuclear, but it could turn an entire city to ash; it was almost volcanic if you looked at the damage. It was only to be used in the most desperate of situations. And, if God favored humanity in any way shape or form, he would forbid it from ever being used.

There was only one way to describe the hell and fury that was about to be unleashed:
Boże, wybaw naszym wrogiem, bo jest cholernie.
God, save our enemy, for he is damned.

Veblensk Central Command Center

"The PLA has been advancing through Russia uninhibited, under the guise of a training exercise. Our intelligence sources and HUMINT in Russia have noted hostile intentions, and as such eastern military districts have been placed on high alert as they grow increasingly near. The VVS is ready to take to air in a moments notice, and civilian shelters are unlocked and ready for use."

"What about in the east in Poland? PLA have been sighted there as well. If this is indeed a potential threat, we might be looking at a two pronged assault."

"It would be nothing we haven't dealt with before. When the Russians invaded a few years ago we were able to hold their ground assault while both Poland and Central Slavia muddled around in our east with seemingly no objective. The Chinese more then likely will use Poland in a similar fashion, which would be the reason of deploying their own to at the very least back them up. As a precaution I want Interior Troops fully mobilized as a precaution to back up the Border Guards if something turns up."

"If it comes to it, I'll notify the Premier and we'll have control over the military while she's at the summit. in case of any WMD strike, we'll still need authorization for retaliatory strikes unless they deliberately target our civilian population.

--

24 hours later..

Defense from eastern neighbor 2: electric boogaloo. Do basic border routine until you get shot at, fall back and radio to command that the enemy is here and wait for friendly bombs to nearly blow you to bits. At least we've got different uniforms..

The recent increase in alert level led to the distribution of heavier weapons at various block posts - normally only carrying a simple belt pouch, flak vest from '82 and canteen, they now were geared up like regular infantry. Something which gave them the idea that reinforcements would be late, not helping with this was the fact that there were dug in positions further inland that were manned by Interior Troops with ATGM and anti tank guns.

"Yeah, then DShB will show up and "save the day" like always" one soldier said sarcastically. inter-service rivalries were unusually high in recent years. "Where were they last time? We almost got wiped out until some VV field units limped over here - from a training exercise."

"Keep watching for PLA. If we're lucky we can maybe call in artillery on ourselves as we get swarmed.."

"This is Block Post-3, we've spotted something in the distance. Too far for visual, we're going to request a UAV scan."

Former Russo-Spanish Union State
Pattersonist Social Republic of Sieen

Dijhan - Sieen

The cracked and sandy streets of the only remaining state of the Russo-Spanish Union were devoid of any sort of life. The capital of Sieen was but a shadow of it's former glorious self. Where once there had been tall buildings and gloriously built mosques to the Saracen populous; now there was nothing. It was not dystopian; but it was not perfect. It was the perfect image of what it was, host to a broken and shattered union, the final vestiges of a conquered state, a memory of it's former self. The silver-green-white-black banner was gone; one still fluttered in the great distance from the city, over an abandoned structure of sandstone the former palace of the Emir; where the Saracen banner still fluttered; dying.

It'd been replaced; the black, red and silver banner of the Russo-Spanish Union State consuming roof-tops of every city, inciting nationalism and false victory. They won; even when they were losing. When Valingrad was falling the vanguard of the revolution was pushing forward; when a regiment was decimated the survivors? That's all that had ever been part of that regiment. And they believed it; complete and utter control by the state, Sieen had become a perversion of Patterson's Dream, it had become a dark-souled lie in the image of Abruzi; but it was not dystopia; because the Saracens were not forced to do anything, persay. Only accept victory.

Forward for the State! It blared from loudspeakers that spoke of nationalism and propaganda, promises from the state that bespoke a mighty future and an even mightier past. They believed every word of it. The State; however, did not.

The State knew better, they knew the truth; the truth of the world was that they lost and it was only thanks to the incompetence of the Bourgeoisie courts of the monarchist motherland; without their beloved God-Empress to guide them that the last of Eastern Russo-Spain escaped to here, before the monarchists could do anything they were set up, and entrenched for the long run. They also had few friends; but that was years ago now and it was time for them to reclaim their place in the world. They did not rest in Slavija as China, their largest union of fraternal comrades did, the Middle Eastern-esque region was reasonably close though academic in the end. And, like Russia and Poland, Sieen was in on the plan.

Forward for the State! The Red Army and Red Navy mobilized carefully when China first sent word; quietly and not to arouse suspicion from any one, particularly the Empire, they didn't fear them persay but it would've been difficult to defend and assault all at once, yes? As the weeks of continuous preparation passed the Saracen people and Russo-Spanish communists. When the words finally came that China was at last moving; the great formations of old and new vessels; the rustic view of battleships, so renown through out the Russo-Spanish fleets; regardless of ideology, remained. But these were few, lingering ghosts to a nation that while it resembled the same peoples; it was a dark mirrored opposite.

The majority of the fleet, however small it was, was new and modern. Great Kirov-class cruisers; Alfa-class attack submarines; Typhoon-class ballistic missile submarines (these weren't being deployed); though no aircraft carriers or the like which in the end was academic simply for the fact that the fleet had enough munitions to sink the entire Russo-Spanish Imperial Navy by itself; and would have were it not for their Belkan friends backing them up with ultra-modern technology.

But it was more than enough! Easily sufficient to assist the Red Army in the utter decimation of the enemies of the state! These fools in Slavija with their pan-racism that made them in league with national socialists!? They had to go! Not to mention their disgusting autocracies! Monarchies!? They fought against the most anti-revolutionary force on Earth to get away from monarchism and they'd not have the proletarian squished beneath the jackboots of more kings and emperors!

Yet; like China, Sieen moved quietly. While their movements were far far more obvious, what with great warships migrating towards the Slavic region. So many vessels; so much of everything...

The Hammer was falling; the Sickle preparing to sow it's harvest in blood.

Forward for the State!

Squad 501; Near the Polish-Chernobl Border:
The group had been sent on a simple recon mission. Aging veteran Captain Taduesz Melszka, Seargent Kazimierz Donowski, Corporal Tolys Orivantaus, and Private Raivis Otra were scouting out weak points in the border when they stumbled upon a Chernoblskyan border station. Heavily armed, crawling with semi-russians; and begging to be attacked. And who was Melszka not to oblige?
Then they were spotted. They were too close.
"Quiet, all; I'll handle this," the Captain ordered. Two wars in this area had helped his russian. " О, привет товарищам. Мы, кажется, бродил слишком далеко от курса. Вы, случается, есть карта на руках?"
Meanwhile, Tolys was interfacing with HQ; It was nearly inpenetrable, well off any Russian channels.
"Squadron 501 to HQ; 501 to HQ," he broadcast quietly. "HQ. Report." "Russian base spotted. Requesting reinforcements." "Requesting. Hold on."

The attack made it's way up the chain of command until it reached the High Command. Then, the message was sent to the Chinese.
"Comrades; We have men near a Chernoblyskyan base; we request the ability to strike."

100th Infantry Division -
58th Infantry Regiment - People's Liberation Army
Poland

General of the Second Line; AA class of the People's Liberation Army, Hui Zhou was the commander of the 100th Infantry Division; and it's sub-unit the 58th Infantry Regiment. He was one of the first Han officers into Poland, part of an advancing vanguard atop one of the mightily built Type 99KM battle tanks; in his days as a member of the lower ranks of the PLA; he was a tanker so this method of transport was not uncomfortable for him, nor did not Chinese High Command not expect it; General Zhou looked for excuses to join his cavalrymen in battle and was not by any means an arm chair general.

At the same time though he was not foolish; and he was the first one (among the Chinese forces) to receive the Polish message. In seconds his radio squawked to life; he prattled off agreed upon call-signs and confirmation codes to say who he was. "Action ill-advised at this time to Polish troops wishing to assault." He stopped; the radio channels were heavily encrypted but one could never be too careful. "While I cannot directly give you orders; it is advised to await further support and preparation. Out. The General concluded his message with simplicity and speed; even so he directed a column of advancing infantry and two of the Type-99KM's to set off to the corresponding location of the Polish troops, just in case.

The men guarding the check point noticed a group of 5 hanging around and when they confronted, one of them speaking Russian calmed them some.

"A map you say? Not one to spare, but we've got one posted over there." the grunt replied, gesturing to a post sign alongside the road near the checkpoint. The varied appearance between those at the checkpoint did not alarm them when the men, also in different appearance arrived. "Who's unit are you from, we're on higher alert level, supposed to stop everything that comes through here. Do you have any cigarettes?"

"Bronya-3 to Block Post, we are returning from patrol after we stop at HQ, will be bringing back supplies and relieving squad, Copy""

One of the grunts with the radio pack leaning against the side of the shack confirmed the message, then put the hand piece back on his vest. A solitary BTR-82 with a squad of light infantry who as far as they knew, nothing was going on and were just on maneuvers.

The unit froze. Not enough for the russians to see, of course. Thet were too well trained for that. A million questions swirled. Did Russians smoke cigarettes on duty? What units were in the area? Melszka had dealt with the russians before. He had some expierience. He marched over to the map, seemingly relaxed, as if he was safe in his own base. He had mastered it in his 15 years of service. But on the inside, his guts did flips.
They're were a few bases in the area; through the area they had come through, only a few bases remained. He tooked the best plan of action.
"Not sure, comrade. We were just transfered a few days ago. Not too familiar with the area, which is why we got lost. I'm sure we'll find our way back. Haven't been walking too long."
Now the final obstacle remained; the cigarettes. It's ironic something so trivial came down to life or death.
Irony's a cruel mistress.
While looking at the map, he signaled rest of the team to take position. It was calm, easy and natural. Tolys rested on a tree, Kazimierz rested on the gate, polishing his sword. Raivis rested near the Captain, pretending to turn the safety on on his AK.
Taduesz took a chance. "Yeah, I've got a pack. Do you want a light?" he aksed, handing his pack out.

The Presidential Palace, Vostroya, Vostria

Premier Yuri Sebestev stood at the glass window of the Palace, a tall building in the centre of the sprawling mass that was Vostroya. All around the city spread like a black stain, masses of industrial buildings, their tall chimneys spewing out thick black smoke as the numerous inhabitants of the cities toiled at the manufacturing lines in order to power the huge nation of Vostria. A snow storm had once again begun as the Vostroyan Winter set in and huge snow flakes whipped against the building as down below the people wrapped up in trenchcoats and fur hats. Vostria was one of the coldest places in Slavija and the people reflected the bleak and inhospitable landscape. They were bitter, xenophobic, racist and generally considered as ugly. Vostrian society was split in two, the high-born and the low-born. The low born were destined to join the army or a religious order and those were the lucky ones. The unlucky ones had a life of working the factories.

To the north of the city one could see the wastelands of north Vostroya, an artic environment only claimed by Vostria for its vast oil fields. To the far east one could see the Black Mountains and the region of Mushka inhabited by Nomadic Vostrians and Solyhnians. Over the mountains stood the great state of Solyhniya. One of Vostrias greatest allies. To the south the weather was much better and as such the south was labelled the granary of Vostria as it provided the wheat and food that powered the naton. And further south stood numerous small states, the making of the collapse of the United Socialist States of Vostria. Claimed by Vostria and not having recieved much recognition from other nations these small states had sprung up and were based on the numerous ethnicities of the south.

Vostroya was a vast state but it was generally viewed as isolationist. The Premier's thoughts were distrubed as his aide entered. His aide was a good man who sported a fine moustache. Generally all men of Vostria sported a moustache, mustaches are viewed as a sign of adulthood and masculine virility in Vostrian society and a man without one is considered to be openly rejecting his manhood.

'Sir, we have seen huge troop movements by both China and Poland it appears some sort of bizarre training exercise.. Huge numbers of Chinese are moving through Russia. It doesn't make much sense although our intelligence is still sketchy at this point.'

Yuri looked confused 'I find it slightly disgusting that Slavs have allowed those Chinese animals to taint their land with their presence. Contact the Poles and the Russians, find out what is happening. The Chinese are barbarians, Vostria has done well to maintain an air of caution towards those communists. Now I must get to mass.'

Greater Russian Federation - Moscow Federal District

Simple fact of the matter was; the world had changed and significantly. The Russian Union State was gone; as was the Slavjian Soviet Union. The two super-states genuine refusal to cooperate with one another leading to the downfall of the latter; and without a rival the former followed soon after. This new world; of scheming and pacifism did not fit Russia, and that was evident ever since the induction of Belorussia into the Federation; though it was still independent; nationalists and foreign governments alike opposed the 'unsanctioned occupation of Belorussian soil' despite that the Belorussian government had agreed to it.

No; this new world needed action, action enough to shake it from it's near-peaceful slumber. So, Russia agreed, in secret and in shadow; they agreed to allow the Han to teach that lesson of action; though it felt like and was treason against race.

Even as the People's Liberation Army rolled through the Russian countryside unmolested, even as the People's Liberation Army Air Force went through the skies unchallenged; and both set up strips and bases within Russian territory; Russia did nothing. Because it was not occupation for them; Russian oil flowed to the Chinese lines; and supplies came from China-proper; or Russia herself to keep the Red Dragon moving. In time, history would call this what it would; something dramatic but right now it was what it was; quiet and secretive.

To keep up appearnces, Russia's bases went on a silent alert, MiG-29's sortied every now and then to keep an eye on the PLA, but the minute they started pouring into Poland like cherry sauce, the Russians simply gave up trying to keep that image up. They wouldn't get in the way, that was their word, and as notoriously bad as Russians were at keeping their word (just as Kyivan Rus or Finland) this time, they were actually going to listen and keep that word.

The War that was coming to Slavija, Russia was going to watch it's fires burn, and make no attempt to put them out.

The Presidential Office, Palace of the People, Warsaw:
Kowalczyk took a deep breath. War was coming-he would hide it no longer from his people. All broadcasts were secure; Chernobl would be goded into taking the first blood-Which may turn some of Poland's old friends over to her side. Particularly the long-time friend, Kleomencja.
But back to the matter at hand. Poland was about to go to war; word from the front-to-be was that a squad was at a Chernoblskyan base; they would most likely fire first. They were no doubt rather on edge due to the 'training excersizes.' But troop movements in the past few days did not seem to indicate any major gearing up; obviously, the previous stalemates convinced them they could repel any enroachment. This would be different. The great Polish Army was massed along the border; they would brush away their defenses like a broom with dust. Then they would crush them into either a collapsed shadow of it's former self, a protecterate of the Republic, or part of Poland itself. Though most preffered the second option.
After Chernobl, Central Slavia was the next on China's regional hitlist. This, however, was an impossible double-cross for the poles. During the Cold Isolation, Central Slavia was the only nation that remained friends with Poland. But he wouldn't reveal the fact to the Polish people just yet; first he attempt to convince the czechoslovaks that mainly dominated the nation that Chernobl was the danger; seeing as the two had a history of bad relations, it wouldn't be the hardest thing to do. And if Chernobl was to strike first, it wouldn't even be an effort.
But Zachódsławia would pose a greater threat; Solyhnia was highly influential in regional matters, and the poles knew them to be on China's marked list; Vostria's position on China's chart was unknown; Kleomentia would most likely be convinced to aiding Poland, something that would greatly highten morale; Shofercia would be extremely difficult, being an island nation. China would probably strike first, Poland overtaking the mainland. They would probably hold out longest. Then there was Rusynija, Solyhnia's prop-up state in their pan-slavist crusade. As soon as Solyhnia fell, so would it.
But now he had to address the nation.
Obywatele Rzeczpospolita Ludowej Polska,
Zwracam się do was dzisiaj z poważną sprawą.
Bóg, Honor, i Ojczyzna.
Niech żyje Polska.

"spasibo tovarishchu" he said as he lit one of the cigarettes. "Polish cigarettes? odd choice. Whats up with the sword?" he had a suspicious tone to his voice, in turn making those within earshot start paying better attention to the men at the gate. "Are you in Goshovs unit?" His hands casually rested on his AK slung across his chest - a portion of training went into quick reaction on guard posts.

"Yeah, the sword is a bit.. rustic. I know we can get away with carrying our own private gear, but I can't imagine why you'd bring a sword with you." the grunt scanning the horizon with binoculars said. Prior engagements with the Poles resulted in the distribution of czech hedgehogs over much of the border, with a few zones favoring an anti tank trench. It was however a work in progress so gaps did remain in some places, particularly those where armored vehicles would have difficulty moving due to terrain or trees. A few KM down the road was the Border Guard garrison who had contact with Central and near by Rapid Reaction Brigades. This all was of course in theory - the garrison lacked any serious manpower so its only option would be to raise alarm and take pot shots at the enemy until they inevitably get routed, then pull back to friendly lines and assist in defending territorial boundaries. A poor chance at success, but someone had to do it.

Taduesz began to immediately think of a plan. The russians seemed to be dull enough- but not enought to be underestimated. "Yeah, the Polish import they're tobbacco from some place in Slavijan-Asia. Figured I'd get a pack in before the Red Alert when on," he brushed it off. Kazimierz was the next to take action, beginning to chat with the man. "Family heirloom, really. Really does some psychological damage when someone is swinging a broadsword around, comrade. But I will admit, sometimes it gets a bit cumbersome."
Now Taduesz once again interjected. "Da, we're in Goshov's unit," he said, resting his hands nonchalantly on his belt, on his side-arm and knife. Kaz was beginning to sheeth his sword, but if they tried anything--decapitation. Of course, that was the extreme.
Taduesz decided to change tactics. "We had spotted some polacks near the border. Goshov sent us out to a nearby base to pick up reinforcements. We had thought we had gone to far--but by the look of your map, the base is a bit farther down the way." The story should work; they had never verified their mission. They were simply elaborating.

Polish-Chernobyl Border

The hulking form of the BTR-60s used by the People's Liberation Army were the first things to come into the immediate range of the Polish Squad; they had no idea that the Polish were smooth-talking their way through the half-Russian Chernobylians like it was nothing. There were two of these APCs' accompanied by the massive form of a single Type-99KM battle tank; it's commander paranoid enough without having this hoisted unto his shoulders.

While their Polish fraternal comrades were not expendable by any means; he would've been more comfortable if this squad had been left to die for the cause; rather than risking the men here sent to reinforce them. Within the APCs, each soldier of the People's Liberation Army clung to his Type-87 Assault Rifle; not nervously but with a tight grip to assure it was there; it was their lifeline in the end.

"Disgorge here, we're about a mile as the Westerners measure from where the Polish sent their radio message." The tank's commander said over the radio simply; watching as the BTR-60s halted; releasing their infantry with a professional speed; the first two infantrymen out of the vehicles taking up covering positions as the other fourteen hit the ground running. "Form up.", the order was simple as an officer of the fourth rank, second class took head of the infantry, their commanding officer; equal to a western Lieutenant.

"Do you want to us to fire off first, or do you want to close ground?" The commander of the armored tank asked simply as the lieutenant-esque officer moved to join his men, stopping short the officer responded with a wait three minutes.

The tanker slid down into his unit, closing the hatch behind him as he did so; the infantry moving forward swiftly, yet carefully at the same time. "Prepare a shrapnel round." He noted simplistically; his gunner moving to do so with the assistance of an auto-loader, a 155mm HE-FRAG shell was slid into the main gun, and left there prepared.

The infantry platoon; a total of 16 men in total by now had crossed the miserably small distance of a mile; the tank now hidden away partially by a small knoll of sorts. The designated marksmen slid ahead of the group; two of them in fact armed with Type 79 semi-automatic sniper rifles.

"Erm." Small radio chatter, the type you would expect from scouts, came across the lines back to the advancing platoons. "The Polish are kind of mingling; it looks like from here." The sniper stopped to look down his scope. "They definitively don't look comfortable; but things seem to be going pretty smoothly. We may very well be fucking their day over by helping them, you know."

People's Liberation Army Navy
Chinese Cruiser - Great Ming
Kirov-class Battlecruiser
Han 2nd Fleet - International Waters

In the modern navy there was; ironically enough; no more decorated a ship of the People's Liberation Army Navy than the Great Ming was. It had partaken in the Kolmokvan Civil War; though that nation slid into anarchy; in the Kuoming Strait Incident; and the barely avoided Alaskan Strait Incident (thankfully, America and China were allies and thus had the good sense to have good sense). Her combined sorties led out to a total of six hundred and thirty thousand tonnes sank beneath the oceans waves; her missile batteries were the terror of the navy, the enforcer of China's Will. Oh and she was the flagship of the fleet at point of one hundred eighty warships and assorted vessels; but lets overlook that, right?

The Great Ming in formation with an assortment of other vessels was the pinnacle of why China never truly invested in the idea of the aircraft carrier; she carried as much munitions as a carrier did, and was infinitely harder to kill. Her armored sides weren't up to par with a battleship of old; but she could take a Granit to the side and 'walk it off' as the Americans said; and though the Chinese hadn't tested it they had a good amount of faith that she could've taken a Shipwreck as well.

Behind her were four more Kirov-class cruisers; an odd assortment of destroyers and frigates, beneath her were several of the venerable Song-class submarines, China's own design, and a single Typhoon-class ballistic missile submarine; it wasn't laden down with nuclear warheads, but extreme-long range fuel-air munitions; that yes, they intended to use against cities. In wake of the warships came the transports, colliers; oil tankers and supply vessels. It was quite the collection of vessels, a logistical wonder if ever there was one.

While they were chatting the grunt with the radio picked up the piece and began communicating with Goshov - this wasn't known to the others.

"Leitenant Goshov, eto blockpost, ty propuskaya ni razvedchiki?"

"Negative, all mine are accounted for. I've got no grunts in the field either. Possibly Koverchenkos, though they would be quite a way off course. Detain them, out"

"Copy. We're on alert. If you don't hear back in 5 minutes send reinforcements." Standard reinforcements for Border Guards would be a pair of gunships and a transport with an assault team.

He silently gestured to the grunt next him and they fanned out a bit before saying "Oddly enough Goshov doesn't have any units in field right now. Mind explaining this?" Their AKs were quickly drawn and fixed on the arrivals.

"I would take a guess and say you are the Polacks sneaking around the border." the one with the cigarette remarked, his AK also had been quickly drawn and fixed on a target. The 3 others kept hidden in earshot within the bunker alongside the road, ready to strike if something were to go wrong or to raise the alarm if needed.

Polish-Chernobyl Border

"Nevermind." One of the two marksmen-scouts said calmly over his radio as the half-Russians rounded on the Polish troops below; realising what was up after all this time. "Permission to engage?" There were procedures to be followed before one started a war, after all. The Lieutenant-esque officer's voice came over quickly. "Granted, we're moving up now; already signaled the armor. Brace for impact; things are about to heat up."

The marksmen idly cradled the trigger of his sniper rifle; the Chinese-made Type 79 was nothing more than the venerated Dragunov SVD in the end, and it's shape and caliber were familiar to all leftist nations thanks in large part to the SSU and RUS exporting them freely to anyone who said they were socialist. With a hurried but even breath he sucked in an amount of oxygen before he stared professionally down the sights of his scope; beading the Chernobylskyan closest to the Polish; the one with the smoke, before he pulled the trigger, sending the shell hurtling towards the man...

Another shot rang out from his partner, the other sniper who aimed at a random man, firing as well; and this was about the time the fourteen other Han soldiers came barreling over the hill...

Soviet Russia Republic
Command Center
2016

Sources informed the Soviet Russia Republic of a battle breaking out at the Polish-Chernobyl Border. The SRRI (Soviet Russia Republic) now knew with this report that China’s military exercises was no exercise at all, but an very real invasion force. At this time it was only Chernobyl-Pripyat considered to be China’s target. A debate among the Union’s top military commanders and leadership began, trying to decide what action to take. While Soviet Russia was part of SLAVIJA, its government was new and did not have time to develop strong relations with its fellow regional countries.

“I say we help China, they are clearly going steam roll Chernobyl, lets ally ourselves with the winners of this conflict. Why risk ourselves to the wraith of China?”

“We don’t know who’s going to win this war, but we do known one thing, you cannot trust China! Toady you’re their friend tomorrow their hordes are invading your land, killing your men, and raping your women. Lets stand with Chernobyl and sent the Chinese hordes back to their hellhole!

The Soviet Premier listened quietly to all sides and motioned to the group to be silent as he began to talk;

“We have made great progress in restoring the glory of the Soviet Union, but we are still far from our glorious past. If we could take Chernobyl and bring it under our union, we would see that glory return to almost its full potential. China is doing us a favor, weakening Chernobyl, making it easier for ourselves to absorb it into our union However we can’t allow China to take it, otherwise it will be lost forever. We will aide Chernobyl in this war. Indirectly for now, we don’t want China to take aim at us just yet.

The Dragon's Roar [Att'n Slavija - Invasion of Chernobyl]

"You know the drill, weapons on the ground, hands behind your heads."

Melszka again handled it cooly. "As I said before, we're new to Goshov's unit. Not that I'm questioning his abilities, but it is not a remote possibliity that he may not of accounted for a new squad such as ours. But, if you insist, we'll comply." "Kapitan, snajper w drzewach. Wygląda chiński," Kaz called. "Dobra. Jestem zobaczymy," Taduesz replied.
As the Captain slowly pulled his AK's sash over himself, he spoke. "You see, we're from a mainly polish town. That's why Kaz was chatting away in it. But of course, give be a moment to say something." He then turned, and hollered "Ni hao, Zhongguo. Zhè duì mùqián de yīxiē bāngzhù, jiāng bù shēng gǎnjī."
Also never to leave the fun to others, he threw his AK on the ground, undid his belt, but pressed a button as he did so. This triggered a panic signal to HQ. Help would be on the way soon enough.
But now he switched tactics. "Ok, If you truly believe me to be a polack, then shoot me now. I'll oblige; just know that only russian blood will spill from me," he said, goading the russians into shooting him. They would strike first.
Then a shot rang out. The man in front of him fell. Another bullet hurtled close to Raivis, but he was protected by a tree's edge.
"Albo to będzie działać jak sądzę," he muttered, dropping to the ground, grabbing his AK and shoving it into another Chernoblskayan's chest. His other men then sprang to action as the chinese tumbled down the hill. "Chińczycy nie są bardzo duże na subtelność, prawda?" asked Kaz, picking up his sword and smasing the outpost's gate in.
"Nie," Taduesz said, running in to the compound, shooting all that moved.

As the shots started to ring out and 2 of the grunts were down, a third tried to take a shot at one of the Poles before getting cut down by another. In the bunker one of the grunts got on his radio while the other two jumped out, one getting cut down by Poles at close range and the other halting and giving whoever came in first a few bullets. The one with the radio began communicating with base after slamming his fist on the alarm button, activating a siren that was audible for quite a distance.

"HQ HQ this is Blockpost, we are under attack, numbers unknown, Polish confirmed Requesting any support available we have taken casualties, over"

"Understood Blockpost, air assault team is inbound. Hold position as long as possible."

"Blockpost Copy, we'll ho-"

He dropped the set and grabbed his AK from its place leaning against the wall and held it against his shoulder preparing to fight at close range as he heard gunfire in the compound.

The word of attack went up the command chain quickly and Rapid Reaction forces began to mobilize, operational between 10s of minutes and a few hours depending how close they were. For those at the garrison nearby as soon as they had heard the alarm, they went straight for their armor vests and rifles and fell in line for orders as their transports were prepared for battle. Mostly lightly armored Ural trucks, they also 20 BTR-82 in their motorpool. These under normal circumstances were only kept fueled but the recent alert level had them combat ready. Their matte-green paint was practically fresh, especially the red stripe across the hulls roof that served as a simplified recognition mechanism as not all vehicles had yet been equipped with computerized identification systems.

"We've received word of an attack on an outpost on the Polish border. Contact has been lost with the checkpoint, so we will assume the worst and take defensive positions 2km east. The Army's 7th Rapid Reaction Brigade will be in the area shortly with air assets, but until then we will hold of any deep incursions by hostile forces."

A few minutes later the neatly spaced column dismounted and the company took defensive positions on both the hillside and in the tree line, digging personal firing trenches and larger ones for crew served weapons - an AGS-30, two 6P50 heavy machine guns and an attached heavy anti-tank unit equipped with Kornet missiles. Equipment of the infantry company was "typical" for Polish border conflicts - wide distribution of RPG-26 single shot launchers, Shmels and an RG-6 for every Platoon; useful for breaking up assaults or ambushes. the BTRs would hang back off the road except for 4 which would be field camouflaged and acting as a fixed gun. With their thermal imaging equipment they could spot targets that could be difficult for the grunts to see at distance.

--

"If they are indeed attacking, our intelligence would have been correct and we must fully mobilize."

"If we do that, they'll play the victim card as always and we'll have the PSUS on our ass again. Economy is already struggling with the internal conflict, any further sanctions and we'll have issues with even getting the trams running correctly."

"We'll wait for confirmation of hostile intentions, then we'll fight defensively unless no mediation can be brought up - then we hit them hard, with the intention to put them down for a long time. If the Chinese are involved, we will prioritize defense against them as they are numerous, if green."

We have taken note of such actions, and appreciate the aid and support but unfortunately cannot accept material gifts as we have limited support facilities which can accept additional material. Paramilitary support while discouraged, we will not make any attempts to stop them however they would receive minimal support, left at field unit commanders discretion.

100th Infantry Division -
58th Infantry Regiment - People's Liberation Army
Poland

General Hui Zhou cursed loudly as the reports came from the detachment he sent out to assist that Polish recon division; immediately he regretted the decision to do so, rather than leaving them to die as he originally intended. All the same, there was some relishing in his thoughts as well; now they simply had to step up the process and push down on Chernobyl sooner than they originally expected.

"General!" Zhou turned his head as one of many logistical aides ran up to him; the base wasn't exactly sprawling yet as engineers were practically and literally everywhere throwing up pre-constructed buildings, digging defensive positions and moving tonnes of supplies all about as a stream of troops kept going every which way from the base as around it's perimeter sat a proverbial horde of armor; the Type-99's gleaming in the sunlight.

"Yes, Lieutenant?" His voice wasn't particularly harsh but it held a tone of annoyance, not with being interrupted so much as it was being rushed. "The PLAAF has finally set up their forward operating bases in Russia, meaning we've officially got air support as so needed over pretty much all of Poland and Chernobyl."

"So? With the Chernoblyskyan anti-air shell still operational the air force stays grounded until it's obliterated. Send word to Air Marshal Li that he's to deploy close-support craft only, and that his multi-role fighters are to engage in the annihilation of anti-air stations in Chernobyl."

"Sir? You want them to hunt what hunts them?"

"Yes, the Americans call it 'Wild Weasel' I believe; it's surprisingly effective as I've read the reports on the invasion of Azahdi and the utter annihilation of the nation because it was dumb enough to challenge the Eagle." The General didn't pause in his various movements of a large tactical map of Chernobyl and Poland, various markers here and there representing the supposed strength of the Sino-Polish Coalition.

"I'll send it off sir." The Lieutenant swiftly saluted and left as Zhou pushed a marker forward representing the 3rd Tank Brigade; a subdivision of the 1st Guards Division; it consisted of 30 Type-69 MBTs; supporting elements of course as well. While it was an older tank, the Type 69 proved itself in the wars that led to a united Asia under the People's Republic of China (excluding Kuoming). "Move up the 3rd Tank Brigade and the 32nd Rifle Brigade to reinforce the Polish border against the Chernobyl counter attack. Explicitly tell them they are not to cross the border."

"Yessir." Another aide ran off in response with a crisp salute; he was going to smack the next idiot that did that..."And stop fucking saluting you assholes!"

With his orders relayed in the distance outside of the base an assortment of venerated Type-69s and a few columns of infantry moved to group up and move out...

"AND SOMEONE CONTACT THE HIGH COMMAND, I WANT MY FUCKING HOWITZERS."

Kowalczyk couldn't help but laugh. "Ah, spies are excellent, are they not?" The Foreign Affairs Officer said, leaning back in his seat. "Hm," agreed the Generalissimus. "It's almost to easy too pay a maid for to implant a bug. But I doubt they'd discuss anything of importance in such an accessable place. Terminate the signal," commanded the President. The Officer pressed a button on a console, and the audio cut.
"What we know is that those commies expect us to kiss up to the PSUS as some poor victimized nation--we'll allow them to think that. For now," President Kowalczyk began.
"In addition, your excellence, they have no clue of our intentions. It would not be a far guess that they think it is for revenge, which wouldn't be completely wrong. Those dranie have killed to many young men. Not to mention the support of the Russian Rebellion in Polesie all those years ago. To many innocents slaughtered. Now they'll pay," The Generalissimus said, grinding his teeth.
