Imperian Command

Their were mixed emotions over the result of the missiles strike. While some were disappointed over GEIJD satellites still being operational, others were pleased. The Japanese had used what defenses that they had on their remaining satellites. They were now defenseless to future attacks. Not only that but with well over half of their satellites down, GEIJD tactical capabilities would have been hit with a large blow. Still, The Kinetic Missiles were expensive and time would be needed for Imperia to produce or buy more. Fortunately time was on their side, for the most part. It would take several months for Japan to get any kind of repairs or replacements or even new satellites into space. It would only take 1 or 2 days for Imperia to buy more. According to the numbers only 110 Satellites were left in orbit (You said 280 in last post, then losing 170).

Imperia

Fortunately, Due to a majority of the navy being out in the ocean, the Kinetic Missiles were caught on radar. F/A18s from the reinforcement fleet scrambled after them, Intercepting as many as they could without heading to far away from the fleet. With the Mainland being warned well in advanced, a majority of the Super Hornets and the New F-35s were able to take off and intercept multiple missiles each. ABMs helped in either destroying or knocking off course 30% of the total missiles sent. The Airforce was met with resistance from enemy air. Imperian Air however had the advantage. A majority of the Japanese planes were radar planes and UAVs. The fighters left these planes to be dealt with by the Numerous SAM sights along the Country, In particular, by military bases where the missiles were headed. CIWS managed to rip apart many of the Kinetic Missiles that headed their way. Making the projectiles into smaller and less damaging scraps. Despite all the effort some of the Kinetic Missiles managed to make their way through. Most of which damaged Hangers and Cargo Planes. an estimated 3,000 Military Personnel were killed by the bombings, With the addition to the efficiency of numerous Military bases. In the after math however, Japan would likely not be seeing the reaction they would like to see. A large increase in the spending of war bonds was the biggest reaction out of the populace. Imperia could now afford to purchase the Kinetic missiles immediately. Instead of getting the missiles in 2 days, the job would be completed in 2 days. Once the missiles are brought from the factories to the fighters, they take off. Civilians widely supported this action after learning that Japans missiles capabilities would be seriously limited without the satellites. With the satellites incapable of containing anymore defenses, Command believed that it would be a complete success. To ensure this, the military has authorized producing double the amount of missiles needed. While the action will bring the country into debt, It shouldn't be something that will not quickly be recovered.

Midway

With the second Libre fleet coming up on radar, the Imperian fleet prepared itself. The fires were gone and the damages on the carrier decks were repaired. Admiral Andrews was surprised to see the GEIJD air force leave when the Libre airforce arrived. Their still not working with each other. He thought again. With the Libre planes focusing on one ship at a time, Cruisers were able to concentrate their SAMs and AA guns on them without the distractions and stress of protecting their own ship. The strategy would cost the Libre forces. Cruisers not under attack would engage the distracted enemy in full force. Admiral Andrews had lost most respect for their Admiral, but he knew better that to assume their incompetent.

Admiral Andrews:"This is going to be a bloody massacre for them. Whats the word on the fleet?"

Crewman: "Word just came in. they should be appearing on our radar in a few moments."

Admiral Andrews: "good, that should put some added stress on them. order the Destroyers not being engaged by the enemy, to launch their Cruise missiles at the island." He stands stiffly while staring out the window to the battle outside. "The enemy has become desperate, that shall become their downfall. Tell Admiral Montgomery to keep his Fleet in a defense formation."

Crewman: "Will do sir... ...Sir we have Japanese missiles coming at us from their fleet."

Admiral Andrews:"Have the CIWS take care of them. Order the Cruisers to continue their protective fire for the fleet but engage the Japanese fleet with Anti-Ship Missiles. Do not let any of their missiles get through."

Crewman: "yes sir sending orders now."

"Sir! Enemy fire is concentrated on our one-on-one fighting!" "Good! Send in the subs! Take the Imperia fleet by surprise! Make sure that they suffer the worst damage they can! And order our units to fire at any enemy they can see. The enemy has more firepower than expected, and well get massacred."

The subs went below the radar level, surrounding the fleet in a circle. The Captain of the submarine crew fired his torpedoes first, at a Cruiser. 3 of his 4 torpedoes hit the ship, and the Captain gave the order to fire all torpedoes. The fleet had nowhere to run. He also ordered the use of anti-ship destroyers. The enemy would be too busy trying to destroy the torpedoes and missiles, that the planes would be able to make their runs with their anti-ship missiles.

(Sorry guys. Busy day.)

OOC: Sorry about the short post, I'm a little rushed at the moment.

Clausewitz states, as an instrument of political will, that war can take two forms. The first is limited, restricted war waged by involved parties to achieve given objectives, true political wars. Small regional disturbances, skirmishes over contested lands, the examples of such conflict are limitless. Especially in an age of diplomatic procedure and the ideal of global reasoning, it is by far the easiest form of war to wage, with less political impact than the alternative.

The alternative, after all, is total war. Conflict fought without bounds, its sole objective the complete and absolute destruction of the enemy, such wars are long and devastating, but most notably, are only fought for the deepest of cultural and emotional reasons; political will is not enough to drag the citizenry of any nation into a long and devastating war of utter destruction. And in such wars, where the common man's hate for his foe is deep rooted and great indeed, it is inevitable that tragedies, both on and off the field of battle, will occur.

Sometimes, however, there is a third kind of war. A conflict where limited objectives, over the course of time, are changed to mean the total destruction of the enemies on the field of battle. Such wars, where the shift of objectives is such that it is near impossible to notice it from the fighter's point of view, marking not only a shift of political will but cultural emotion, is arguably the quietest and most dangerous of them all, driving even the most rational into the arms and wide embrace of true, unrestricted, bloody conflict.

Those involved in the latter should be pitied, for the ravages of war will have twisted their minds in an unimaginably cruel fashion. But they cannot be returned to their former state, and as such, they should then be killed off.

If not through loathing, through pity.

Signs of naval combat detected by 45th MIB at 0405 hours through NGS unit 22, evidence corroborated with current affairs suggests military engagement between Japanese forces and coalition of nations led by Quendi.

Potential for geopolitical destabilisation is currently in process of realisation, DES notes that further disruption of sea lanes will have adverse effect upon regional stability and State economy. Advisory board of MoFA dictates that armed intervention is desirable, optimally to reach diplomatically acceptable conflict resolution. Recommendation is upheld by DES, FLINT, and will be passed to Crown pending approval by Chiefs of Staff.

Karonin has dictated that Taskforce Thylshentyr is to be armed and prepared for immediate deployment. Operational readiness will be reached by 0550 hours, and will be deployed to Northern Anemonian Sea by 0700.

It took two hours for the Defence Advisory Board to approve and pass on the recommendations of the Fleet Intelligence report on to the Chiefs of Staff. That in itself was almost miraculous; the DAB, notorious for being one of the most significant bottlenecks within the Armed Forces due to its status as an inter-service organisation operating through consensus, had managed to come to a remarkably quick agreement concerning the validity of the decision espoused by the Fleet. To most, this would have been surprising; however, the reasons for the DAB's quick approval of the Fleet Intelligence report actually stemmed from the stance taken within the Holy Office of War concerning incidents involving the Imperial Japanese Dystopia which had become so prolific on the geopolitical stage in recent months. Though the Crown had seen fit to leave the nation to wallow in its own self-imposed misery and state of constant war, and though the small hegemonic empire posed no threat to the Anemonian State, what had become clear after long periods of constant conflict in the nation's vicinity was that the conflicts it brought upon itself did have adverse effects on civilian shipping in the area. Such adverse effects constituted economic assault, albeit indirect, on the Second Holy Empire, and as the Fleet counted sea lane defence within its remit, the matter had quickly been raised before the Fleet General Staff months prior to today. The general consensus across the board had been that the situation did not warrant offensive action by the Anemonian State, especially considering the amount of political capital that would have to be expended to push the Crown into an invasion of another nation, but that intervention in an ongoing war was a potential course of action if the conflict in the region refused to abate for a long enough period.

Months had passed since then. Locked in a near permanent state of conscription and conflict, the presumably economically ravaged and demoralised Japanese Dystopia continued to wage war against nations bent on clearing the region of this failed hegemony in a decisive sweep. However, said sweep had failed to be as decisive as hoped; tied down by the continual, increasingly desperate attempts by the Japanese Dystopia to drive the invasion force out of its waters, and by the failure of coalition forces to act in tandem, the invasion had become a prolonged naval engagement. Though this was, militarily speaking, a desirable situation for a coalition which was in no doubt of its ability to outlast its already battered opponent, it was, in fact, the worst case scenario for the Imperial Fleet of Anemos Major, for whom a prolonged conflict meant a prolonged effect upon the usability of sea lanes in the region. As such, the Fleet had pushed for decisive action within the Defence Advisory Board; the Army, whose connection to the Fleet through the 10th Army (Marines) made them sympathetic to the former's cause, was quick to support them within the Board, and the Air Force saw no reason to resist. With the three core services on the same side, it didn't take long for the Arsenal and SOACOM to fall into line, and as such, they were able to support the recommendation and pass it up to the Chiefs of Staff, amongst whom deliberation was kept to a minimum. Approving the document by 0730 hours, it was quickly delivered by hand from the Holy Office of War to the Imperial Citadel, and the entire procedure was over by 0800 hours.

By 0815, orders were relayed from GHQ to Fleet Headquarters at Karonin, ordering Taskforce Thylshentyr to enter a standby position off Japanese waters pending further orders, accompanied by a series of orders to Army Headquarters in Fierei directing them to prepare a suitably large intervention force for deployment overseas. The Taskforce had been in position for a good hour; upon receiving the relevant orders, the confirmation was quickly sent and the taskforce, their objective clear enough but their alignment clouded, set course for the Japanese Dystopia. The fact that the Anemonian State had refrained from issuing any official declaration of war, or even intent, would inevitably be a source of worry for those nations involved in the conflict; the force being deployed by the Crown, after all, was no simple policing presence, and it would very clearly change the course of the war in favour of whoever had its backing. With no previous diplomatic activity providing evidence of the Anemonian State's stance in this matter, and the very real threat posed by the massive force overtly approaching Japanese waters from Karonin, only a fool would ignore the movement and activity of the Anemonians over the next few hours.

And while the foreigners suffered, trying to understand and pre-empty the Anemonian involvement in this conflict, grey hulled vessels, standing tall and mighty over the darkened oceans, the storm winds and towering waves merely lapping at their sides, would fly the Fleet Pennant high and proud, the Crown and Stars fluttering under the late summer sky through sun and storms, their intent but to put the will of their High Lord and State into practise onto the fields of battle to which they were so accustomed.

SS Winter
Tigershark Class Diesel Attack/Missile Submarine
Operations Deck

“Windhover to Shark One, priority one orders for fire mission in the tubes, maintain current heading.” The message was short but stunning for Captain Bart Kirov of the SS Winter. He knew what it meant. He handed the orders to his second in command and sat down, watching the various members of his crew performing their routines they had trained for so diligently.

“So many young men, Harris.” Harris was his second in command. “Do they know what’s coming?” Petty Officer Harris, a man in his 40’s, looked around at the young sailors. “You’re never too young to kill – or die – as they say, sir.”
“Indeed.” Mused the now almost mournful Captain. It was almost certain that some of the submarines carrying out of this operation would be sunk – it was a matter of how many. Escaping the situation wouldn’t be a problem if it wasn’t for the new multistage plan.

Finally, he heard the sound he had been dreading – the ticking noise of the submarines Long Range Under Sea Communications Array working as it deciphered a message. The LRUSCA could only be so useful in situations like this where avoiding enemy detection was a must. The message was more lengthy this time, and confirmed the orders the Captain had been anticipating for nearly a week.

“Windhover Central out to Sharks one through thirty, target identified as Sun is moving south to engage Quendi fleet but appears to expect engagement with our fleet. Neutrality is out of the window, backing down not an option. Chairman to announce Operation Setting Sun in seven hours. Strike now.”

Kirov immediately called his senior officers to come up on to the platform he was standing on with Harris. “Gents, we are going to launch our attack as the target comes level with us before it can move south of Taiwan. Sound general quarters and get the order out to the other boats.

The subs were now in a key position – split into two rather – where fifteen subs were in a long range attack position away from the Japanese fleet, while the other fifteen were trailing the Japanese submarine escorts. Luckily there were few as they had all been deployed to Midway or further south to attack Quendi subs – leaving a perfect opportunity for the FSSO subs to strike.

They began.

First, the fifteen subs near the Japanese fleet north of Taiwan launched a barrage of torpedoes at nineteen different enemy submarines which were around the huge capital ship from a low depth. They were suddenly engaged in a deadly sub versus sub battle, and although they had the element of surprise the Japanese subs were sure to react immediately.

At the same time, the long range group had launched a series of missiles at low altitude – Tomahawks, Harpoons and AS-109 Penetrators. Some of these missiles flew towards some of the Japanese fleets carriers – but the Yamamoto was the main target. Due to the long range nature of the attack, it would be a short while before the missiles hit. Meanwhile, under water, the sub skirmish continued. However, the Yamamoto sailed along in all its glory – but there was a sense of nervousness in the air.

This would soon be fulfilled with action. The missiles from the long range sub group came in low, heading towards the enemy carriers and the capital ship. Some of the missiles were shot down by the Japanese ships various self defence systems, but the distraction of the sub clear up and the Japanese Navy’s stretched budget for building all of these ships had left them off guard and incapable of defending a full attack, meaning some would inevitably hit the escort carriers and capital ship.

However, the Yamamoto was the great weak point – and the real target of this assault. At 2.1 miles long it’s anti-missile defences were very stretched, and it didn’t help that earlier on (read GEIJD’s last post) the escorts had spread out more. Five missiles exploded along the length of the ship, two in the midships, one on the deck of the stern and one on the bow just above the waterline – whether they had been shot down or had hit was not clear.

The long range group submerged beneath the waves, a long distance away from the fleet itself, and changed its heading south – seemingly, job done. The other sub group however were in much more of a hurry – they had sunk some of the enemies submarine escorts but not all, and had taken losses themselves, and now would need to get south as quick as possible before any escorts chased them down.

But the last missile – a Harpoon missile, travelling low over the water straight at the 2.1 mile long Yamamoto, was the key. It was targeted right at the part of the bow where an explosion of that magnitude could easily detonate the magazines inside, which held a massive stockpile of ordinance for the bow guns above. The missile flew past a frigate, rose up from just above water level and through a plume of smoke, flying straight at this spot and now out of the targeting arcs of the Yamamoto’s defence systems..…

    The Pacific Ocean
MIS Sundavaer, Flagship of the 1. Armada of the QIFJ
1,200 kilometers south south east of Taiwan

Arch navarch Oiomúrë shook his head in disbelief and perhaps a tiny bit envy. "If I even considered doing something like that I would get court martialled." The arch navarch said in reference of the thousands of Zero's that was raining down around his air forces. Not in all the wars the empire had waged since the end of the civil war had half as many fighters been shoot down and the QIFJ had done it all in minuttes. Navarch Alacarialë-Orchaldor nodded. "It would appear to me my lord that the japanese have difficulties separating the will to die for ones country with the inability to live for it." Another navarch, Îrpân i Erûhil, snarled. "Or stupidty from intellect." He said in a heavily accented sindarin.

The navarch walked over to one of the many computers on the bridge clicking a few buttoms making one of the large plasma screens on the bridge depicting the northern Philippines. "Our AEW&C have just discovered enemy troops on the Philippines. For some reason, fear I expect, they have refrained from attacking us so far. Navarch i Nayatan's plan can be put in jeopardy if we don't take them out my lord." For a moment Oiomúrë stood inactive following the airshow before him stunned at the speed by which the japanese empire was devouring itself and placing a debt burden on its people for a generation to come. "Yes of course." The arch navarch said looking up at the screen where the japanese troops where. "It is vital that i Nayatan's plan succeds. We need to take Taiwan now before the japanese can get reinforcements."

I Erûhil nodded. "My plan is simple my lord. The only thing we really need to fear is that the enemy SAM's. I quite simply suggest that we, if you will excuse the indecent comparison, take a page from the japanese's book. Send in our own multirole fighter's to make sure that the enemy SAM is exhausted when we are ready to commence phase B of i Nayatan's plan." The Adûnaim navarch looked around at his predominantly sindar and eldar colleagues looking for acceptance. "A bold plan navarch." Navarch Alacarialë-Orchaldor said with some reservation in her cold tone. "I wouldn't want to be on those multirole fighters though." She added. I Erûhil shrugged. "Risks must be taken in war my lady, and its better we loose some multirole fighters now then during phase 2 and phase 3."

Several of the assembled officers started arguing the pros and cons of the plan i Erûhil had proposed and though many valid points and interesting arguements was presented in the end no different proposal was raised as an alternative. "Enough." Oiomúrë said. "We will follow i Erûhil's plan. Navarch, get it done." I Erûhil saluted the arch navarch. "Yes my lord." He said before leaving the room to commence his plan. "Now about those zero's." The arch navarch said continuing the meeting.

In the air the 216 QU-9 Katana Advanced Air Supremacy Fighters pilots for once in their time of service didn't need to fear being caught of guard by enemy infrared homing missiles. The sheer amount the enemy was firing made every single pilot aware of the situation instantanously. They also knew how to react. As the enemy fighters began exceeding their flight ceilling the QU-9'ers had comfortably ascended even further up through the atmosphere. Now they where prepared to answer the enemy's missiles. Since the 11,800 fighters that survived the inital attack and their hazardous manouvers outnumbered the quendi fighter pilots 50 to 1 many of the enemy figthers couldn't even see the QU-9'ers and their missiles never once proved a threat to the quendi pilots. Yet many of them did. But the answer from the fighter pilots came swiftly and would overwhelm the enemy. Thousands of flares where fired to disrupt the missiles and make them loose their homing. Of the 9,000 missiles that had been able to target the QU-9'ers many lost their lock on and instead began targetting other targets. The Japanese zero's. A total of 2,000 missiles flew right back towards the japanese fighters having been fooled by the flares. Thousands simply dropped out of the sky having lost their homing. Some exploded in mid air. Yet more then 2,000 missiles continued towards their targets. The QU-9'ers however reacted quickly and fired 6,480 Python 5 short range AAM's against the incomming enemy missiles. Most of the enemy missiles was disabled, many because they lost their lock on facing the now thousands of warm targets. Furthermore the QU-9'ers as a last resort began using laser to fool the missiles.

Yet the magnitude of the attack the QU-9 Katana's faced was overwhelming. Even if the enemy planes was antiquities the large scale attack was not without effect. 43 QU-9 Katana's was hit. Their flares, their countermissiles, their evasive manouvers, their laser tricks all in vain. 43 good men and women went to the halls of their forefathers as heros. It was the first serious casualties that the Quendi armed forces faced since Tol Forod.

But now the enemy was the prey. Many of the Python's had not destroyed enemy missiles and though some lost their lock on 2,788 of them where instead redirected towards the enemy Zero's. Together with those 2,000 of the japanese's own missiles that locked on to their own comrades they know moved against the enemy and seeing as the distance was only a few kilometers the enemy would have difficulties escaping. The grieving pilots aboard the 173 remaining QU-9 Katana's also fired and additional 5190 Python's even though that it was against their orders only to use those missiles against incomming enemy missiles in self defense. More then ten thousand short range missiles now descended upon the slow, old, ill manouverable and defenseless enemy zero's.

At the same time the other group of 216 QU-9 Katana's now went in the offensive against what remained of the enemy stealth figthers. Outnumbering the enemy four to one and having fully loaded weapons aboard the fighters they fired a total of 6,480 AAM-4's against the enemy. Fortunately the enemy zero's was still close enough for the AAM-4's to be redirected towards them once what remained of the enemy stealth fighters had been destroyed. And there could be little doubt that they would be destroyed. More then a hundred missiles per plane was tough odds when the missiles wheren't infrared lightweights fired from bad positions.

In the mean time i Erûhil had dispatched 216 LY908 'Warhawk' Strike Fighter/Interceptors towards the Philippines. The fighters where armed only on their inner hardpoints to make them more difficult to detect. Their mission was simple enough. Find enemy SAM batteries and provoke them to open fire. It was a very dangerous mission, but unlike the japanese suicide attacks the mission was both important and it was possible to survive it. The odds wheren't to good, depending of course on the amount of SAM, and potential enemy aircrafts, but it was not fanatic suicide. Yet.

Underneath the surface navarch i Nayatan was caught with his pants down when it turned out that the enemy had mined the seas around the Philippines. Having one of the longest coastlines in the world i Nayatan would have never imagined that the japanese would have actually mined the waters. Especially not with expensive remote controlled mines. "Melkor's Beard, how are we going to get through now." I Nayatan excalimed slamming his fist in the table. A slight giggle from a female officer caused the navarch to look up in surprise. "Are you amussed by our dilemma tesserarius?" He asked coldly. The woman smiled. "No my lord navarch but why don't you let them show us the way through?" She asked pointing towards the sonar computer. As he looked on the screen a smirk crossed the navarch's face. "How very nice of them to show us." He said as the 21 nuclear submarines of the enemy navigated through the minefield revealling the path.

Moments later the navarch was not smiling as he attacked the newcomming submarines. With the main enemy submarines behind him he had plenty of time to sink the 21 newcomming submarines. On a distance of twenty kilometers more then a hundred of the navarch's submarines fired 600 Mark 48 ADCAP torpedo's and 104 SCT-114 super heavy torpedo's. Twenty submarines could not stop that amount of torpedo's and the chance of them surviving was practically non existant why the navarch continued on course. Phase 2 was about to commence.

Midway

The Imperian fleet was fully engaged, as it had been for some time. The crew looked forward to the reinforcement fleet heading their way. Crewman and Marines had been fighting for days straight and were becoming exhausted. Under normal situations the fleet would have withdrawn some time ago, However with the increase in enemy reinforcements and the overall success the fleet has been having, Admiral Andrews saw this as an opportunity to crush the enemy forces to allow easier voyages to the next islands on the Imperian War Plan. The cruisers continued to focus their fire on the distracted and occupied Libre pilots. Unfortunately a destroyer was hit by enemy torpedoes. Andrews saw the irony in this. He ordered Ikara missiles to be fired at the enemy subs. Normally these missiles were not used due to the close range nature of the missile. However with the enemy subs in firing range so was the Ikara. CIWS continued to destroy the Dystopian missiles with ease. At the volume the missiles were coming in, the CIWS were expected to be 100% successful.
By this time the second Imperian Fleet had gotten into striking range. Being fully armed and prepared for the conflict of the previous fleet, the battle was sure to be in Imperia's favor. The 10 fresh Cruisers launched a volley of Harpoon missiles at the Libre fleet. the 9 fresh Destoryers followed the others example and also fires their Ikara missiles at the Libre submarines. With the additional airpower, F/A18 Super Hornets were scrambled from the two new carriers. They were equipped with Harpoon and sidewinder missiles in their effort to bring down the enemy resistance. Their priority was the enemy Carriers. After they had launched what Harpoons they had, they were ordered to assist the fleet in taking out the enemy air. Due to the Libre pilots focusing on one ships at a time, the Super Hornet pilots were sure to have many easy targets.

Admiral Andrews: "Welcome to the fight Montgomery."

Admiral Montgomery: "Happy to be here. where do you need us?"

Admiral Andrews: "Bring yourself near our fleet. remember to not get to clustered. Have your cruisers anti air focus on the Libre air and keep your defenses prepared for Dystopian missile attacks."

Admiral Montgomery: "Should we not engage the Japanese fleet?"

Admiral Andrews: "That's a negative. Allied reinforcements are near by. They want to spill Japanese blood more then ourselves. We'll leave that force to them."

Imperia

The first 110 of the Kinetic Missiles have been launched. Despite that being enough to destroy the remaining Japanese satellites, the airforce kept going. They had over 100 more missiles to go through, and more would be brought if needed. The war has brought uncertainty to the people. President Reese had stepped down from any election race after completing his third term. The new President Sedah, was now in charge of the nation. Sedah was far less Diplomatic and self limiting when it came to war. He had begun meeting with members of the senate to discuss a potential draft for the nation. While citizens were more concerned over destroying the enemy capability to strike back rather than striking the enemy, causing public support for a draft to be at a tie. Despite Reese being out of office, his vice president Rivera remained in politics. Rivera was given the job of Head of foreign relations. He would often be the representative of the nation in international talks. Rivera has asked that President Sedah take a diplomatic approach to things in the war. Sedah agreed that their would be a time for diplomacy, but argued that the enemy must be weakened and incapable of war for this to happen.

AFN Military Headquarters, Symphony, Metropolitan Symphonia, Asian Federation of Nations

There was stark consternation as the reports of 1000 missilies and a nuclear bombs were launched against the AFN Nippon-Hokkaido Fleet, and further outrage at the fact that Japan was actually planing for an invasion of the Asian Federation, specifically targeting the Empire of Symphonia in order to take out the AFN government in Symphony. Orders were scrambled from the AFNMHQ to hundreds of military bases around the federation, as well as to the various branches of the military.

Symphonian military bases in the North Pacific, the last renmants of the Empire's participation in the North Pacific region, were ordered to begin for launching attacks on the Japanese Home Islands. Across the eastern Pacific, Great Western Ocean, and sattelite space over the AFN, military bases and anti-missile systems began operations to defend the AFN from any missile attack by the Japanese military. The AFN Aerospace Command issued a Code Orange missile threat to the entire AFN, while the AFN Ministry of Defense gave a Code Orange status to all coastal regions around the Symphonian continent and gave a Code Yellow status to the other AFN nation's coastal regions.

In the AFN proper, the massive military of the Empire of Symphonia was called into action. All standing troops were ordered into service in the rallying defense of the Empire, and the acting seat of government was transfered from Symphony to the fortress-city of Skyview, high up in the peaks of the Central Mountains. The other AFN members, notably Sandroran and Symphonian Britannia, called up all their active forces and set them on defensive status around their respective territories. The AFN Navy ordered the Home Fleet, 5th, 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th Fleets into active duty, and set them on patrol/defensive status around the AFN proper.

Civilians were asked to leave the effected territories as soon as possible, before the fighting began, and the provincial and national governments organized quick transportation of those civilians into the awaiting shelters of the central Symphonian continent and the emergency shelters of the metropolis of Symphony.

While the AFN government was moving underground into its secure bunkers under the various mountains across the AFN, its military strategists planned another attack on Japan.

With the Hokkaido attack due to occur any moment and that Guam had been abandoned for the silver piece of Kyushu and the Ryukus, the AFN would go in for the gold. With the Cobra Union held up at Midway, the Quendi in southern Taiwan, and the Tehraanians in Oceania, the AFN would place extreme pressure on the Japanese by devoting a large amount of resources in controlling the seas around Honshu, before launching the most daring sea-borne invasion in the history of the world.

The projected casaulties were extremely high, seeing how desperatley the Japanese had fought in Taiwan and Midway. So the proposed plan was delayed until the Quendi or any other Quendi Coalition member was able to achieve victory.

AFN Nippon-Hokkaido Fleet, South of Hidaka Mountains, 20 miles off Hokkaido, Greater Evil Japanese Dystopia

The fleet continued its advance to cut off Hokkaido from from Honshu, moving to blockade the straits between Hakodate and the larger island to the south. The nuclear explosion sent by the Japanese as a warning weapon had been disregarded by Supreme Admiral Han Liu-xing. After all, he was operating on a mind of vengence, to free his beloved China and Taiwan from Japanese rule. Furthermore, the Supreme Admiral had correctly concluded that this was a suicide mission to hold the Japanese in the north while the 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 7th Fleets changed course from Guam and made straight for Kyushu and the Ryuku Islands.

So when the 100 missiles came flying in at the fleet, the Supreme Admiral knew his time had come. On his order, the entire fleet opened its salvo of missile countermeasures, a mixture of anti-missile missiles, anti-missile lasers, and electronic disruptors. Despite this generally effective screen of defense, some missiles managed to get through and cause moderate damage to the fleet.

The Super Yamato battleships fared the worst, due to their larger size, with the Numenoria and Hirahara taking enough of the missiles to cause them to begin sinking. Supreme Admiral Han was killed when three missiles pierced the munitions bay, causing an explosion that enveloped the Numenoria in a massive ball of fire.

The cruisers and destroyers took some damage, but were otherwise mostly unscathed bacause the majority of the anit-missile systems resided on those ships. Submarines, being underwater were not effected.

The two prized supercarriers suffered on light damage, because the size and bulk of the battleships, as well as the last heroic act of Supreme Admiral Han to safeguard his carriers by moving the battleships into harms way, blocked out the damage that would have caused massive damage to the carriers.

In response, the Hokkaido Fleet fired a second salvo of sea-to-land Naval Strike Missiles, this time numbering at 200 missiles. They all targeted the kinetic missile silos all around Hokkaido, as well as the defensive positions of the island's Japanese defenders.

Airspace over Hokkaido

Earlier that day, the supercarriers of the Hokkaido Fleet had deployed 200 F-35 multi-purpose fighters against the military bases around Hokkaido, as well as being given the task of clearing the beaches around Hakodate in preparation of landing the 45,000 soldiers in order to establish a toehold in Japan.

The massive group of fighters raced over the skies of Hokkaido, clearing not yet being challenged by the Japanese defenders.

Meanwhile, the 75 Naval Strike Missiles that were fired earlier were targeted on the defenses of Hokkaido, targeting the naval port at Hakodate and the various military bases near Sapporo. They very quickly raced to their targets.

The South Pacific
Erjunhuf Fleet Task Force 5

Looking out over the tranquil seas of the Pacific, one would never be able to guess that a major war was occurring only hundreds, perhaps thousands on some theaters, of miles away. But Admiral Travis Gates and the rest of the Erjunhuf Task Force he was now leading were not here to enjoy the sights and sounds of the southern Pacific; he was there to bring the war to the Japanese Empire, and destroy as much of their seemingly endless war machine as possible. And to accomplish all that, he would be bringing the war to Japanese Australia.

Although Erjunhuf had not officially declared war on the GEIJD, the Allied States had already, secretly of course, let its Polaris ally the Quendi know of its entry into the war. Having studied the situation as closely as he could - at least from official dispatches and the occasional satellite photo that was clear enough to show anything useful - Gates had decided that Australia would be the perfect place to attack. With all the action thus far taking place farther north, the Japanese were more than likely putting more men into those fronts, draining manpower from regions where the conflict hadn't touched yet. Even if they had deep pools of reserves there, it would yet again force the Japanese to divert resources from other fronts. Additionally, they would probably not expect an attack from what might as well have been the rear: for all intents and purposes, Gates was almost circling the Antarctic Circle, trying to avoid radar detection the enemy might have been using. He planned to come up from the southeast and launch his invasion at Melbourne, and alerting the enemy so far south too early would more than likely result in a catastrophic battle, and this far behind enemy lines, the old admiral was not willing to risk what could be a decisive defeat. So long as he maintained radio silence and stayed far away from GEIJD radar, or at least kept up a trajectory of non-hostile intentions, until the time to strike came, they would probably be safe.

Still, Gates mulled over, Parliament had only granted the use of 10,000 ground soldiers, mainly comprised of the Erjunhuf Marine Force Recon, and just over 50 tanks. The Allied States would more than likely only increase this number if this early mission succeeded, and even then, it could take days to assemble and transport a more powerful ground force to reinforce their garrison; the only other way would be for the GEIJD to use a WMD in any capacity, and surely they were, while fanatical to their leadership, not that crazy. The large size of the navy, especially of its aircraft carriers, would force them to rule the skies as quickly as possible; if they could win in the air, the Marines would have a much better chance winning the urban warfare that would occur as a result. It could be done, but it would not be an easy fight.

Sighing to himself, Gates checked the ETA of his assault; only a day or two until the task force arrived outside the city of Melbourne. One more day before the GEIJD realized they had another power to deal with.

Nitrongaian Defense HQ, Nitrongaia, Independent Republic of Nitrongaia
The Defense Minister, Leon, as well as the Marshall of the Air Force, General of the Army, and Chief Admiral were in the meeting room. Leon stood and pointed to a small island on the map.

"Ceylon (Sri Lanka). A place of what can be said of strategic importance. A bit of trade goes on here, as well as having the "finest harbor in the world". I say this would be an easy and very valuable place to invade. Why? We have estimates that the Japanese do not have a population of more than 500 million. This will limit the amount of troops the Japanese would place on an island, rather than say the Indian Mainland. I believe they have most of their fleet of the Indian Ocean in places such as Mumbai. This does not mean it is lightly guarded. We have no intelligence figures on it. But it is very unlikely the Japanese have treated with much high value."

"What about the Midway Atoll and Taiwan? I heard the Quendi were in Taiwan and groups of nations are in Midway," said Defense Minister Ryan.

"Midway," Leon said it with disgust. "A small island that served as a refueling stop. Not worth fighting much. We already have a carrier flotilla there. Taiwan is more heavily guarded, as it is noticed more. Ceylon? Barely paid attention to. We need to send a whole fleet in, take Ceylon, and take advantage of it by launching assaults on India. If the Quendi can take Taiwan and mount an invasion of mainland China, the Japanese in all both India and China will be crushed. Just like a hammer and a anvil."

"You want to launch an amphibious assault on Ceylon, then use it to invade India, in an attempt to crush the Japanese Empire?" Chief Admiral Lisa Finn was surprised at Leon's plan.

"Exactly. Australia, India, China, and some of the Pacific Islands are really all what they have that makes them an Empire. Siberia is of no importance, few people and a barren tundra. The Middle East, a desert with not enough significant people. In the end, it boils down to those places and the Japanese homeland itself."

"And how shall this be done?" Asked Lisa.

"Use the 3rd Fleet to sail from Africa, to Negombo, 37 miles north of Colombo. From there, crush any Japanese naval ships in the port, use heavy air support combined in an attempt to land. This would be easier than trying to get into Columbo, where urban warfare would be bloody. Negombo is 6 times smaller than Columbo. Hopefully, we'll be able to take the whole island within 3-5 weeks."

"This would be nea-

"I for one, approve this." Said Lisa, cutting off the Defense Minister.

"Any objections?" The silence in the room said it all. "Good let us get the fleet and the landing force ready."

"We're nearing the Midway Atoll sir! We might be there in about a few hours!" The officer reported.

"Good. Prepare for us to engage the enemy. Get our E-2C Hawkeye AWACS in the air. Contact any nation with a force in there that is against the Japenese that we're coming in."

"Yes sir!" Trevor said it quickly and left the Rear Admiral.

To: the Greater Evil Imperial Japanese Dystopia
Thousands of civilians have been trapped over seas as tourists. Our Intelligence shows that your civilians are dangerously fanatical and warlike, and we have decided that bringing GEIJD residents would be risky, should we become further entangled in this war. To evacuate these civilians, we shall send 3 C-5 Galaxies. Should any shots be fired at us, we will send the aircraft carrier Pseudonym, protected by 10 Kilo-class submarines, 2 Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, and 5 Horizon-class frigates, as well as the Pseudonym's airplanes. They will be stationed at Midway as a neutral force as insurance that no parties will fire upon us.

From: Seii Taishogun Uchiha Madara

I am calling in for the Emperor, who is currently out of country. However, we accept your proposal of evacuating the civilians in that manner, however, we have already done it with Isolated China's help. 35% of Hokkaido's civilians are now in Isolated China. However, we do have 300 civilians from Midway that need to be evacuated to get them out the way, of our artillery, which we intend to launch an all out strike on enemy positions.

I also wish to apologize for this short mediocre post.

Western Parliamentary building
George Krockey (LWR, Western minister of foreign affairs): "We must intervene in this situation, hundreds of innocent civilians are in danger. Our participation doesn't rise as we do not have enough men, in these hotspot districts. As formerly known during the Talibastain Wars our Paratroopers from Elite class may have the skills, but confirmed not enough cooperation with other parties in this conflict. Therefore I'm willing to send fellow military aircraft to salve the operation, as well send peacekeeping forces for seizures among all parties, our peacekeeping forces EFOR (The West)''

Harlow Arial (Western Socialists): ''Minister, when done that, I do not wish to harm the relations with The Hegemonic union of Tehraan during the Talibastaini war, and Quendi our fellow partner within the Polaris. The tension will grow, and it will not have much of an advantage for us. I will approve when they signified our activities, so that if something might break lose we will be on their side."

Henry Fisher (Reformed Jews to the Gas Chambers): Leftist mugs you are! We will not ever join those filthy hegemonic union.. One of our finest regimes in former Capitalist Unity JttGC vanished because of them. Quendi is a total betray as they joined these creatures.

Mark Cross (Christian Democrat party CDP): ''Minister, I agree. JttGC is something not to be spoken of Fisher, as it is illegal. However there must be the amount of pressure coming from our side just to comprehend the situation. Terrible things are happening. So I would say help in aiding them with our Peacekeeping forces. Hold rougher activities for later, these are not important at this very moment. We shall also approve the activities of our allies in any possible way. Quendi shall not be stopped.

The democratic majority of the lower house shared Cross' opinion, and so it had been considered the plan.

Greetings,

Considering another inappropriate step in the direction of war, the opponents have proven themselves to be remarkably insufficient. We know that this unneeded behaviour does not have to be applicable in such a dystopian matter. Therefore also know it has to be stopped immediately. We will not tolerate something that has been going on for so long already. That it have come to our interference.

Though, we may or may not agree with regimes of several nationstates within this war. We do know that war has to be stopped from all possible sides. Thus, in acts of stimulation we would like to announce that we shall deploy our peacekeeping military forces. That will do their best to seize the amount of unneeded military opposition from one party to another.

Moreover, we hope to develop a certain trust able agreement. Where our peacekeeping forces find themselves save to stand wherever they want without being shot at. Carefulness towards these armed troops will have to come in promise. "Those" men mainly will be there to sustain peace in any way possible. They will never engage foreign troops. Only out of pure self-defence.

Confirming that, we do also want to know if all parties are interested in an peace agreement. Or, conference where we can diplomatically discuss things that are done with weaponry now.

We wish confirmation/declination of the following parties within this war: The Japanese Empire, The People's Empire of Of the Quendi and the Hegemonic union of Tehraan. With an possible elaboration as for "why?".

In cooperation with The West,
Yours faithfully,

~Western president of Elysium (peacekeeping) Forces

Cobra units had withdrawn, giving the Admiral an open window to send his other planes towards the fight against the Imperia fleet. The sailors had turned to excelent aimers, firing their shells to enemy ships, scoring many hits, and even sinking a few Imperia vessels by a few lucky hits in their ammo storage room. Planes were dropping bombs on ship command structures, to leave the fleet leaderless, and the Admiral left a message for Imperia:

This is the Libre Borinquen 8th and 7th fleet! We are giving you the chance to withdraw from this fight. Taking this opportunity will leave your men to fight on a more important battle. We will offer this message once. Unless your navy withdraws from Midway, we will continue our attacks until your navy lies in the bottom of the ocean.

Tehraanian Navy, 700km from Palau

"What do you mean, we detected them only now!?" Admiral Nerakan shouted as his communications officer who was unphased at the Admirals sudden explosion. "I mean that we have only detected the Japanese AWACSs after we launched our first wave. It has allowed them to reduce the effectiveness of our attack." He said in a calm and matter of fact way. "It's to early to determen the exact numbers but we have conformation of a good ammount of successfull hits on the enemy." He added in an effort to bring Admiral Nerakan back to a more professional mood. Raging like this over a oversight or setback was against the modern naval doctrine added a pone by Admiral Yamegalet's own writing. Anger leads to irrational actions without clear thinking of all the possibilities one's actions might cause. A person in command like Admiral Nerakan had to remain calm and calculated so that he may quickly think of a next move.

The Admiral could not be blaimed for this, he might be an Admiral and in no way a bad one but his position was more due to book knowledge. He had little to no experience with major naval operations involving large scale naval warfare.Nerakan had due to a sense of superiority over the Japanese navy and due to an failure of intelligence underestimated the Japanese navy's defensive capabilities. Though the attack was in no way unsuccessfull. It was significantly less effective than predicted.

Nerakan quickly got him self together. "Prepare for the next attack. This oversight will not happen again." He said but before anything els could be ordered alarms rang all over the bridge. Nerakan quickly sprung to action. "What is it!" He shouted over the noise. He actually didn't have to ask in order to know what was happening. Any naval officer knew the alarm and feared what it ment more then anything els. Anti-ship missiles. "We're detecting a large amount of signals moving towards our coordinates via the Data-linked reconnaissance aircraft in the area. Multiple, most likely anti-ship missiles are moving at subsonic speed towards our fleet." One of the officers reported. "Follow the Defensive protocals for this kind of attack. Were already at level 1 battle stations. Get this ships laser cannon active and put it to use. Shoot down those missiles." Nerakan ordered and walked back to his command seat and looked at the tactical display. "So those Nips have learned fast, I never expected them to do this. I should have known better."

With the Tehraanians not advancing fast, the distance between them and the Japanese was big. Even with stand off missile engagements the large distance caused many problems, such as locating the enemy fleet. Even if that was done there was the issue of utilising your weapons to a full potential. The long engagement disance ofset INS or GPS systems onboard the missiles without a mitcourse update. Despite the long range of such missiles they would be less accurate. This was something the Tehraanians knew and something that they had worked on to counter in the way their navy was structured and operated when engaging in this kind of Naval warfare. It was the kind of engagement that the Tehraanians wanted and it was what they were good at.

Admiral Nerakan decided to launch a retaliatory strike non the less. The HUS Ikalrem aswell as pretty much every cruiser and destroyer in the fleet fired a hand full of Nenda-44 BB SASuWM. Similar but shorter ranged, long range anti ship cruise missiles like the ones they had fired earlier. They roared out of their VLS systems. Their first stage bringing them to their altitude before deploying their second stage cruising mode. Firing a total of 600 of these missiles. These missile followed a similair patern as their larger cousins before. But with a total shorter range, lacking a target acuisition radar equipped missile to provide mitcourse updates, a task normally done by the fleet air units. The final sprint was only 70km and at the not as fast speed of mach 3.0. Sufficient to penetrate the Japanese defenses. But the lack of precision and mitcourse updates via their detection and guidance aircraft meant that they were less effective than they could be. Though Nerakan did not expect this to be a major blow against the enemy. But sufficient in tying them up for a while aswell as forcing them to expent munition for their airdefenses that they otherwise could use against a comming more powerfull attack.

"I guess it's time to put an end to this. Order 0/1 and 2/3 within a 500km range of the Japanese positions. Have the 3rd, 2nd and 1rst carrier battle group launch hunt and kill patrols near their location and order our escort carriers to launch aircraft to take down those AWACSs. I'm not going to play nice with them." Nerakan shouted at his Air command officer, who in return followed his orders. "Order the Maritime air fleet to launch their first attack wave." He added in a softer tone. "What are you planning Admiral?" Junior officer Nagila who had not said anything since the beginning of the mission asked Nerakan. "I'm planning an end to this battle. We have no more time to play games." He replied simply as he sank back into a more relaxed posture in his seat, overviewing the next move.

While one TTu-118B and SM-10 Daimyo with 4 D3M escorts each began moving closer to the Japanese with the intent of getting within 400-500km away from the enemy. A hunt and kill mission was launched by the a total of 24 D6N advanced air supperiority fighters. Having only their internal bays loaded in order to maximise their stealth capabilities. In addition a T-Yak-44 A AWACS and T-Yak-44 B EW aircraft took of along with 2 CSu-35BMNs for escort, to provide more radar coverage of the air operation. This while 24 CSu-35BMN also took of. Their main mission was to take out the enemy airborne early warning systems but they could engage enemy aircraft aswell, should it be needed. Their main mission was to clear the way and provide other support for 72 TTu-99 maritime strike aircraft began taking off from the Tehraanian Main land.

Now it was time to deal with the enemy missiles.

"Missiles entering our detection distance Admiral. Laser defense system online."

The high powered chemical laser cannon onboard the HUS Ikelrem though intended as a ballistic missile defense weapon was more then capable of destroying anti ship missiles and even aircraft that flew close enough. It was powerfull enough to burn through the hulles and incinerate the inside, either detonating the warhead, fuel or just frying the systems. It was not a system that was effective at handeling 3100 japanese missiles but it's did it part.

The radar sensors and fire control skimmed over missile after missile with the aid of an AWACS above the fleet, following which the laser destroyed them one by one during their approch. Any missile shotdown was one less to deal with. As long as the nuclear reactors on the HUS Ikalrem functioned it could use it's laser, which for every missile it shotdown the fleet had to fire some missiles and shells less, who weren't unlimited.

"Order the CAPs to attack the enemy missiles. I don't want to give the Nips any chance of doing more damage then we can afort." Admiral Nerakan said while remaining fixed on the tactical display. Hostile missile blips were disappearing one after the other but many more were still inbound. Tehraani Combat air patrols, usually 4 aircraft per carrier in the fleet patrolled the skies above. For these missiles to be modified with the ability to have such a range they had to be much larger and have to carry more fuel. They also had to increase their flight altitude. This makes the (though longer ranged) missiles much easier to dealtwith than their shorter ranged surface skimming counter parts. Their were none the less under the radar horizon. But with airborne early warning providing over the horizon radar. They could be dealt with greater ease.

The CAP aircraft swooped down on the enemy missile swarm. Firing their own missiles at them and after they ran out they continued to spray them with their 30mm cannons before they came within the 300km range. The range of which the Tehraani onboard airdefenses could engage the enemy missiles with sufficiency.

"Admiral we have atleast 3000 missiles still inbound on our fleet." Their still was time. Time to take down as many missiles before only the CIWS systems stood in their way. The Mantis airdefense system tracted the missiles. Via Data-link exchanges between each system onboard the ship got their assigned targets. The first missile shot out of the VLS, then the next and the next. Their track-via-missile guided missiles shot towards the enemy missiles. S-400 and Dasya-N surface to air missiles. The closer the enemy missiles got, the more accurate the Tehraani defenses. IR countermeasures were deployed. The fleet had from the moment they had detected the missiles begun moving in an evasive course in order to increase the error of the INS, which considering the range reduced the systems accuracy. Meaning that it would have a harder time to find its target as the coordinates of the dead homing no longer matched with what was programmed.

"Enemy missiles in short range weapon's zone!"

Nerakan watched his tactical display. They had shot down most of the missiles and good part was off course, flying in a way that made them miss their initial target thus allowing more time to intercept them via soft kill or hard kill weapons. The Tehraanians had a lot of their fleet's budget infested in airdefenses. Their was no shortage of ships capable of successfully engaging anti-ship missiles. At most 2000 were shot down and an additional 800 missed and dropped into the ocean, when trying to hit bogus targets created by flars and incorrect coordinates. Which left 200 missiles acquiring a target and flew towards a Tehraani ship.

Leaving the last of the defense in the hands of the Tehraani point defense weapons. This was fortunately a powerfull part of the Tehraani defenses non the less. Relying on proximity fused weapons. Using Rapid firing Naval guns, the Lasyer Mk.1 and Mk.2's multiple 40mm cannons and an asortment of highly manuverable point-defense missiles like the Lresba-55. The Tehraanians could cover the flight path of the Japanese missiles with a cloud of Tungsten fragments that could penetrate the hulls of the missiles as if their were made of paper.

The moment the missiles entered the short range airdefense region fleet lit up with the guns blazing in an effort to take out the missiles. Crew men ran to their shelters bracing for impact as the empty shell casings rolled over deck as 73, 53 and 40mm guns tried to shoot down the missiles. Flak clouds covered the missiles due to the air burst explosions. But some got through.

"Captain, we're hit on the stern!" A sailor shouted on board one of the frigates. "Damage control, keep the ship going!" The captain shouted back over the alarms. But before he could do anything the bridge exploded in a ball of fire as an other missile pentrated their defenses and hit the bridge. Reducing the ship to a burning piece of floating metal as the remaining crew jumped from the ship. Not to far a way a cruiser was getting several missiles from multiple sides, even with all CIWS in action it didn't keep it self from being hit in the fuel tanks.

Nerakan watched the last of the missiles disappear on his screen. "Damage report!" Nerakan shouted after the attack was over. "We have suffered a lot of hits over the whole fleet, but considering the size of the missile strike it's not very surprising. Around 39 ships are reported sinking or destroyed and several others are damaged including one mission kill. I have the exact numbers if you wish." The first officer said. Nerakan looked at his officer and then back to his tactical display.

Several of the friendly ships symboles changed, indicating they were sinking. "Give me the damage report I'll look over them. By now our own 2nd strike should have hit. And our aircraft are on their way." He said when he looked back at his Officer. Junior Admiral Nagila interupted. "What if the Japanese do an other strike like this, the'll do more damage." He said. "Correct, but to assure you I doubt their able to make an other attack like this, even when we do more damage the amount of missiles they fired indicates that they have expended a considerable amount of weaponry. At the very least they shouldn't be able to fire a salvo like this unless they reload, which during a battle will severly hamper their operational capasity. Besides our own finishing move is inbound. In the mean time get our replacements CAPs in the air and take care of the damage and surviving crew."

The Japanese attack had been destructive, although it was purely due to the scale of the attack. The Japanese lacked any tactical advantage that could make the missiles more efficient in their kill ratio. But the Tehraanians had non the less suffered damage. Their own missiles, though lacking the advantage of numbers like the Japanese attack, were a lot faster in possessing their supersonic final sprint. It would compensate for the lack of numbers with that factor and the smaller ammount of air-defense capable ships the Japanese possessed. It was a matter of attrition if the Tehraanians didn't do anything to tip the scale. But the Tehraanians had hardly started.

Nerakan continued back to his tactical display. "Captain we have more then just Anti-ship missiles that were launched from the fleet." The radar operate suddenly said while at the same time a large amount of blips appeared on the tactical display. "What are those?" He asked surprised. "Their helicopters sir, looks like they are moving towards us for a strike on our fleet."

Nerakan laughed. "That makes no sense how do they presume to have them pass our air defenses, Just shoot them all down and be done with it. I don't know if they carry more missiles to shoot but order our CAP to engage them. Shoot them down, we don't have time deal with this, open fire on the helicopters with our ship defenses when they enter in 400km of our fleet." He ordered.

The Tehraanians the Japanese helicopters would see were the R-77 missiles launched from the Tehraani D7 and CSu-35BMNs on Combat air patrol. At most certainly would be the last. Even if they survived they would be most likely be shoot down by the Fleet own defenses before they could fire whatever weapon they had. An other pointless waist of man and materials on part of the Japanese.

Tehraani Aircraft, everywere in the war theater.

2 Cyclops AEWC aircraft were launched to suppor the Air battle. The Japanese had launched a lot of aircraft but relied to much on battle though out tactics non the less. They might be in a larger force but what they missed was something that didn't rely soly on and 'attack, attack, attack' mentality. The Tehraanians were not looking for a prolonged air battle. Their goal was to reduce the number of enemy aircraft. After that it was mearly a matter or repeating the progress until they flew into the ground based air defense range.

"This is Cyclops 1, were operational, preparing for link up and radar power up." The main flight control officer reported to Central HQ, The large display turned on as they entered the data-exchange network of the Tehraani air defense. The large amount of Tehraani aircraft and the even larger amount of Japanese ones appeared.

"Okay, all forces standby, engage at BVR until further orders." He ordered on over the communication network to all aircraft. Seeing the bigger picture was more important than having a lot of weapons. And the Japanese attack was puzzeling at best.

The Tehraanian aircraft had however not been lacking behind in terms of radar technology. Stealth, allthough usefull isn't 100% hidden from radar and with the use of it becoming more and more common they had during the modernization received a lot of advanced radar systems. They could detect even the most stealthies aircraft provided they were within a certain radar zone. Generally closer to the receiver. Which if powerfull enough still allowed them to fire before the enemy could retaliate.

"Were detecting more aircraft above the Zeroes and those zeros aren't flying in an altitude they should be capable of handeling." The radar operator said. The Flight control officer looked at the screen. "No, it doesn't matter at all. They can't keep such an altitude up long enough, their still Zeroes. Their airframes aren't build to handle such an altitude. Our imediat concern are the Drones, they pose as more immediate threat even though that too is minnow."

The Tehraani aircraft launched their first have of missiles at 100km. This allowed them to reach the higher altitude of the CAAM-77missiles. They fired a total of 1200 at the Japanese UAV drones. Stealth or not. These missiles could hit them with the mid-course updates and own active radar guidance they received.

Central HQ.

"Alert, Alert, ballistic missiles detected on course with Tehraan." A computerized female voiced shooted in the NDN control center inside the Central HQ. "Activate the ballistic missile defenses, shoot them all down!" The commander shouted as the many operators behind their consoles began activating all defenses. The commander sat as erect as possible. This was the first time that the system would have to be used ouside of tests, training and drills. He was rightfully nervous. "What's the projected point of impact!?" he asked. "The Autonomous state of Tehraani sir." The response was.

Tehraani, why would they launch an attack their, it's not like that location is of any immediate threat. The Commander though to him self. "Alert the Tehraani HQ of the attack and deploy our anti-ballistic missiles." He ordered. "Were on to it. Sir."

200 Anti-ballistic missiles fired from their bases towards the Japanese Ballistic missiles. It didn't matter what they deployed as counter measures. They knew their flight path and that was that. The Japanese Kenetic missiles were countered by the Tehraanians own kenetic warheads that slammed into the Japanese ballistic missiles. Either destroying them or knocking them of course. Few hit their intented targets. Some landed in the country side. Some managed to hit a military target non the less but a pure kenetic warhead was little more than a large hunk of metal that was propelled towards a target. It could damage what it hit but that's were it ended. The damage was neligable at best.

"Where this those missiles launch from?" The commander said as he now turned towards the idea of retaliating. We have the positions recorded from the point of detection. We'll calculate their position by back tracking the missiles flight path."

"Good, I want you to give them to the missile corps. I'm sure the'll just love to take out a few Nip silos."

In response over a 100 Theater ranged ballistic missiles were launched at the located Japanese silos. Armed with a Thermobaric warhead to render the lauching units in operable.

Main War room of the central HQ
Nentayeg looked at the massive pile of both digital and paper printed documents he had received. He had always imagined what it would be like to be at war in this room. But he had not expected so much of his time being spend on paper works. Most of it reports and all kinds of communiques from people around the world.

"The West. So their involving them self with us again. I see, but this is not really interresting." Nentayeg said as he read through the Communique. "What you mean?" Kayameg asked. Nentayeg put the communique down. "I mean that this isn't interresting. Their looking to do a peace mission but as long as their just ensuring 'innocents' are out of harms way I could care less. Our war is with the Japanese Emperor and those who choose to stand with him. If the presume to do nothing but protect people from being harmed we could just ignore them and continue as we are. " Nentayeg said as he told Kayameg this. "So what are you going to do Brother High Chairman." He continued asking. "Nothing, I'll leave this to the Quendi, if they wan't to play peace keeper that's all fine with me but we have more important issues than a bunch of would be peace keepers. So back to the imporant things. What's next?"

Supreme General Kayameg cleared his throat. "Well, the Japanese are putting up some resistance at palau. But they haven't been fighting for every long so that not a issue. However our Intel reports of a major Japanese mobilisation of forces in Indonesia that are likely to begin an asault on Tehraan. Non the less that can be dealth with but what we understand they have started attacking merchent and civil transports of their enemies which considering our location puts us in a bad position. So to prevent our forces from running out of steam as our influx of oil and more materials for the war effort will run out if we don't act.

The most sensible is to focus our forces not on just Japan and the land that stands in our way. I suggest be send our Remaining fleet in all directions to attack the Japanese in the entire Oceania region that Serounds the Tehraanian Islands. Indonesia and Papua but also Micronesia, Austrialia and the other Islands to the east. It will spread our forces but we have no choice. Atleast the Japanese Navy will soon run out of any sort of ships that might oppose us.

When the Japanese fleets are all but destroyed at our hand and those from our Allies it will be but a matter of time and effort. But then we will succeed one way or an other." Kayameg said.

"I see. So until then it will suffering and bleeding for our Goals, but we can handle a lot more than they can. In the end we hold the advantage of not having our forces spread to face multiple enemies. Ones their main fleet assets are depleted in their efforts to fight us in this region they won't have any thing to realistically oppose our Navy. Thus it will be land battle from Island to island to mop of the remaining resitance wile our Northern fleet makes in way to Japan to support a campaign of making sure the Japanese will never be able to rebuild their war machine."

Nentayeg said. Kayameg nodded to his words as it was what he meant. But non the less this wouldn't be easy. It would require a lot of sacrifice on part of Tehraan to take down the meat grinder that is the hords of Japanese forces that occupied the region.

"So I do however understand that Ballistic missiles were fired at the Hegemonic Union aswell as an Nuclear ICBM hitting nothing, used as a warning. I wan't our defenses alert at all times and our WMD made ready for deployment anytime soon. We shouldn't tolerate the Japanese pushing the coalition around with this foolish show of force. Anytime they are going to deploy such weapons against us we will follow our protocals just as we have stated.

Once they deploy chemical, biological or Nuclear weapon on us you have like always permission to retaliate with similair weapons." Nentayeg added. "Ofcourse High Chairman." Kayameg said, smiling like a kid getting candy.

It would be an unwise move if the Japanese launched their weapons against Tehraan. But they didn't expect intelligence from savages.

Midway

Having received news of a new ally coming to the battle, Admiral Andrews and Montgomery decline the invitation brought by the Libre CO. With the Cobran Forces coming to an end, the battle shows the first sign of declining. The combined fleets, in response to the enemy shelling, quickly made their way out of range for their guns to hit them. The fleet did remain in missile range for good reason. The volley of anti ship missiles, similar to the volleys that had sunk half of the Libre fleet he previous night, was launched once again at the Libre fleet. The enemy bombers, having come to attack the capital ship, proved to be easy targets for the SAMs and AA guns on the large amount of cruisers the Imperian fleet now had. With the volume of AA defending the fleet, Crewman were surprised if an enemy plane got within sight of the fleet without having to waste their flares early. The F/A18 Super Hornets, in the air, were rapidly growing to 100 of them in the air around the Imperian fleet. The fleet had become impenetrable to the current enemy attacks. With the enemy's reliance on Battleships,Admiral Montgomery and Andrews grew more confident in victory over the Libre forces. They had ordered to maintain this distance from the enemy fleet. The Admirals believed this action would, more or less, infuriate the enemy Admiral due to his heavy reliance on a ship they would not allow him to use. The only Variable in their plan was the Japanese forces. Despite the variable, Admiral Andrews sent a rather unorthodox message to the Libre forces.

"A Majority of your fleet has been made useless by our tactics. Now the precious steel and fuel that you used to create them will eventually sink to the bottom of the ocean. We will continue firing at a volume that you cannot defend, your fleet will eventually be lost. For what we're able to tell your forces have suffered more losses than the Japanese. Do you really see purpose for your men to die for a nation that uses your forces as pawns? I know that your men respect and look up to you, otherwise this battle would have been over a while ago. The only question is, do you respect your men enough to end their sacrifice?"

As word reached the Fascist dictatorship of Varshna.

"What, the war is going on? Send what we can." Replied General Boris.
"Alright."
"I sugest full military mobalization, load up the first Varshnan Home Army, and a batallion of Vodgedrav along with a commanding general and well damn, just send anything that will fit on four Z-11 heavy bombers."

12 hours later.

Four Z-11 bombers taxi onto a ten mile long runway.
control tower: Attention, take off as soon as possible, we need to get to Japanese Dystopia as soon as possible.
Pilots: Okay, time to see how power these new engines are!

Then the six massive Thuper Jet engines went into full after burner. The massive planes slowly began to move.

Pilot: We reached the one mile mark, speed, 100 MPH.
Control tower: Roger, will you make it with the heavy load.

Pilot: We are t.... Shit! We got a burnout on the numer one and six engines, the main combustion chanber has a leak, we are loseing pressure (The thumper jet engine is 50% more power ful than a typical jet engine, higher temperature and pressure give higher fuel efficantcy).

Control Tower: Can you still be able to take off?
Pilot: Yeah, just tell the other guys to throttle down by 20 percent to reduce the strain.
Control Tower: Okay. We will.

Pilot: Mile Marker three, speed 346 MPH and climbing.
Control tower: Roger, keep on going.
(two minutes later)
Pilot: Mile seven reached, speed 560 MPH, take off flaps fully extended!

Then the four massive planes took off. Each plane carrying 30 tanks, 10 support trucks fully loaded, 23,000 Varshnan soldiers and 240 Vodgedrav officers. The four planes escorted by 20 Z-2 fighers bound for Japanese Dystopia.

1st and 2nd Long Range Observation Groups
Pacific Ocean
892 miles south west of Taiwan

On the decks of all four carriers, aircraft were preparing for takeoff. Their mission; to destroy enemy airfields at Taiwan and flatten their fleet of Zero’s on the ground, leaving the Zero’s fighting the Quendi without an option but to ditch in the sea if they couldn’t get a carrier and removing any air threat to the fleet.

The full extent of forces on Taiwan was not known, however they were certain that the island had approximately 1 million troops and nearly 5,000 Zeroes on the airstrips – packed to the brim. The troops would undoubtedly be accompanied by armoured vehicles, which would be targeted too, and any other aircraft present on the airfields apart from Zeroes were also open game. They knew there couldn’t be any significant naval force docked at the island, as the three Japanese naval forces defending the island – which had been engaged by FSSO subs not long before – were north of the island, out of range.

To boost the fleets numbers, seven more diesel submarines had arrived from the south west – all seven were delayed by storms and had originally been part of the 1st L-ROG. They now joined up with the three AS-60 nuclear submarines. They would all launch Tomahawk cruise missiles and other long range weaponry to assist in the attacks. Ships would also launch missiles at the airfields and bases for ground forces.

Within roughly an hour and 10 minutes, the aircraft were all up and now over Taiwan. There was twenty Tornado GR7/Cs, armed with Storm Shadow cruise missiles and dispersible munitions to target infantry and tanks and buildings in the islands various military bases. The airfields were being targeted by forty Harrier GR7’s, who would use standard guided and unguided bombs to smash the airstrips and hangar buildings, and use their cannon on low runs to strafe up the rows of unprotected Zeroes.

The Japanese military had made a major oversight in squeezing a whole 5,000 Zeroes onto the island, meaning they would be quite close together on the airfields and easy targets. Five other Harriers would attack the ground force bases on the island with the Tornados while another five remained on the carriers as backup. Both groups of aircraft would be accompanied by eighteen F-18E’s each, to protect the ground attack aircraft and also provide extra support attacking the ground units and airfields, with twelve holding a CAP pattern around the carriers. Several EA-18G’s would join in the attack, providing ECM support and combat support.

The aircraft, which had just seen spotlights protruding through the clouds, realised that the Japanese had spotted their formation. However, no enemy aircraft had taken off yet. At the same time, cruise missiles launched early from the Tornados flew towards the ground unit bases, and the various missiles launched by the submarines, destroyers and frigates were about to reach their targets. The attack was bound to cause severe casualties for the Japanese, as the jets dived down on their assorted targets. The lead Harrier attacking an airfield on the south side of the island dived down, aiming it’s cannon as it prepared to tear a line of parked Zeroes to shreds…

As full mobilization was complete the Imperial Japanese Naval, air, and Ground forces were ready for total war. A large fleet stood before Grand Admiral Morosaki one consisting of 79 Kazuma class submarines, 14 Aircraft carriers, 11 transport ships, 13 landing ships, 24 Cruisers, 63 destroyers, and 27 frigates. Imperial Japans role in this war began for defensive purposes but now this was all about gaining power and the way to do it was simple. Betrayal!

4 transport ships, 5 landing ships, 8 cruisers, 21 destroyers, and 7 frigates were ready and armed for an imminent invasion. Their goal was to strengthen the Japanese Dystopian presence in the pacific and so carrying troops, food, and weapons the fleet went to re-enforce targets such as the Phillipines, Korea, Guadacanal, and Other Indonesian Islands.

Midway: The 6th fleet grew closer to the island directly engaging any enemy vessels in sight. The Musashi opened its guns on ships of equal size attempting a Pre-emptive strike to gain the upperhand. The battle was gruesome and with this attempt at a final attack it would determine the victor.

Taiwan:The fleet fired all its guns on the Quendi Coalition vessels which were also engaged with the Japanese Dystopian forces. Maintaining steady support the fleet moved in to directly engage the ships attempting to win by a quick surprising move.

Declaration of War by the City-State of Phing Phong against the Greater Evil Imperial Japanese Dystopia

In light of recent events regarding the Greater Evil Imperial Japanese Dystopia's unwarranted and overt aggression against the Asian Federation of Nations, in particular our close ally Symphonia, we feel that urgent action is necessary. As a member of the aforementioned Federation, we are duty-bound to defent our confederated compatriots. From this point in time, 2334 on this day 09 September 2555, we are at war with Japan, and any military allies of Japan, until a peace treaty with both Phing Phong and the wider Federation is brokered.

Phing Phong's Threat Index currently stands at the second-highest level, Black, and the process of total military mobilisation is underway. All serving soldiers and ex-personnel with military training under the age of 46 are being recalled to their nearest barracks in accordance with a schedule. An advance force of 150,000 soldiers of the army is being readied for deployment in the defence of Symphonia, which will be fully operational in approximately eight weeks' time. In addition, currently undecided numbers of naval and air force personnel are being prepared for assistance in the operation, and they should be ready within ten weeks of the declaration of war. Nuclear devices cannot legally be primed until a White Threat Index, and may only be used if the very existence of the nation is under immediate threat.

All Japanese military or convoy shipping intercepted by the naval forces of the City-State shall be attacked, without warning if necessary. The only exception to this action shall be clearly designated hospital ships and refugee craft not licensed by the Japanese regime. All commercial flights to airports in Phing Phong are hereby suspended until a lowering of the Threat Index. Any aircraft entering Phing Phong's airspace without prior warning will be shot at with the intention of destruction, action for which we take no moral or legal responsibility.

May Heaven continue to smile upon our solid republic,

ADDRESS TO THE EMPEROR OF GREATER EVIL JAPAN

The nation of New Independent Canada declares war on your weak nation. This war will be nothing but a clean up operation, as your army, airforce and navy are spread thin across your imangineary Empire. I hereby give you one chance to surrender your to the Coalition forces. I urge that you surrender because the overwelming power and skill of the Coalitions army will crush your makeshift armies. You are a fool to belive that your people will remain loyal to you, when bombs are falling and tanks cruising your roads. You marry12 year old girls, which is disgusting, and all the older women that make up your band of wives are all men in disguise for your weird experiments. My gang of cronies laughed there heads of when I told them you were fighting. With no allies to call and no foreign money I calcuate you will last for about 6 months before you fall do to a lack of money. This is the end game, no bullshit treatyies or hiding behind your allies, this is total war. MEHHHH

Good luck, Lucien Willbanks, 102nd Prime Minister of NIC

Lucien clicked send and then walked back to his office. His gang of lackeys will bellowing with laughter and telling racsist jokes about Greater Evil Japan. " Why those yellow motherfuckers will never win", bellowed William Dentwiller, Minister of Foreign Affairs. Lucien smiled and then turned serious. " I now this be easy but we must be war, they have many tricks up there sleves" Admiral Mowat did a double take and laughed, " MEh, meh what can they do, besides wave swords at us and send a few ww2 era planes?! Damn even the region of Xanadou could fight em at this point" Lucien chuckled and thought off all the genocides he would commit in Japan.........

From the Imperial and Royal Foreign Ministry
To the Greater Evil Imperial Japanese Dystopia
Res: Parlamentus consultum de imperiae defendenda
CC: The Quendi-Coalition
Encryption Level: Ultra V

Why? Why is it so that hundreds of thousands of our peoples must perish? Hundreds of thousands of your people?
Why war?
This is a very fundamental question to us, for waging wars is and have always been a very costly affair for all parts involved.
Is it so that you must be militarily destroyed to ennlighten your people's immensely self-destructive ways? I, and the entire Reichsrath would not like to think so, but we are forced to. You have in the past weeks fought no less than four or five major battles against the Coalition, all of which were either lost or a stalemate. Jolthig, your ally in the Mediterranean has surrendered to reality. Maybe you should too. However, right now, you are just destroying your own splendid people.

Yours

Midway
The room was relaxed as every now and then people rushed about. Yet inside there was a tenseness, sensing that the danger of battle was near. "Sir! We're approaching the Midway Atoll," said Trevor.

"Excellent, now that we're done with that, I want our Super Hornets ready for takeoff. Submarines as well. Signal over to the Quendi-supporting forces we're coming in. We might be able to push the battle to an end."Replied the Rear Admiral

"I'm onto it sir!"

Nitrongaian 3rd Fleet, Indian Ocean
The plan had been simple and well laid out, shown to Admiral Jared Lee. He would begin a coastal attack upon the small town north of the main city of Ceylon (Sri Lanka). Then, the troops would rush in an attempt to take the island. The fleet was silent. It was not sending anything in an attempt for stealth. There would be no communications or anything until the invasion. He stood up and examined the sea. It was clear. Slowly his memory drifted to his father and his past... Of the accident and his passing...

For a long time he stood there. Then he walked back, all silent and solemn.

"If only the world wasn't full of madmen ruling places. The world would be better, and lots of people wouldn't be dead," he muttered.

VANCOUVER NAVAL BASE

Sailors were scrambling every were to man there posts. The nation of NIC was going to answer the call to attack Ceylon, and help end Japan. Admiral Mowat was taking a large naval and air task force to link up with the Nitrongaia navy. He then started writing a letter to there nation:
