Cassius Major, Cassius system, The galactic outer rim

The planet sits silently in the supposed Goldilocks zone of the system. Green and blue sit in perfect proportion, along with the beige of deserts and white of ice at its poles. The four moons that orbit it are average sized, numerous craters dot their surface from the many eons of being impacted again and again. The planet seems so very perfect. 3 massive oceans of water, 5 continents. It was like another Terra, but there was very eerie aspect to this world that no other planet in the galaxy shared with it.

It wasn't formed naturally.

As we look to the north pole, the perfect alignment of nature's design begins to wear into cold, geometric shapes, until the mountains you see to your left look impossibly complex, as if they were buildings. From a ground view, it simply looks as if they are sprawled all around, like someone had been to this mysterious world before them. But from say a bird's eye view, something much more ominous appears. These shapes are aligned in a circular format, inside the circle little sweeps of metal poke through. This was no previous colony that had gone into extinction, this was an entrance. A gateway. Into the planet.

Many, many years prior to Alien - Human war, there was an ancient race of machines. They had held the Galaxy under their cold grip for many centuries, even eons. over a million years. Their rule existed during when humans had yet to even form civilization when they were patrolling the stars, and on an even more absurd action, building planets. They would mine naturaly formed planets until they imploded from being so unstable, then used the resources to build their own. But during the human 1980's, the machines went into hibernation due to a massive virus that had infected multiple Drone worlds. To save themselves, they went into their worlds, and shut down and have existed so for many years. Most Drone worlds are either colonized by other empires now, or still sitting all alone. As for cassius major, it sits in the darkness. For now.

Generally, one of you are suppose to find cassius major, explore it, and then accidentally open up the gateway inside, go inside, and reactivate the planet, causing 3 other planets to reactivate in sequence. Others could also be exploring Cassius Major or the other drone worlds at the time. Or fighting over them. Whichever.

Laserbeak arrived.

Well, Laserbeak in the scout ship. He really didn't want to go to this place, he wasn't a scout. He was an assassin. Going to this 'Cassius Major' star system sounded like a load of hooey. But then again, maybe Megatron knew something Laserbeak didn't.

The scout ship was small and nimble. It was all engine and sensors, leaving very little room for the operator. Decepticons didn't think much of comforts when building something.

However, maybe this mission wasn't a total waste of time. A beeping computer demanded Laserbeak's attention, and he pressed a button to see what.

The world turned out to be habitable for oxygen-breathing life-forms. Laserbeak didn't like life-forms like humans, those little flecks of paste held together by some proteins. He'd dealt with them a long time ago and hoped to never have anything to do with them again. Maybe he was wrong.

Laserbeak piloted the ship into a high orbit above the planet and looked over the panels. The world appeared to be constructed, which surprised Laserbeak but not too much. Building worlds was pretty hard but not impossible, especially for machines.

Laserbeak flashed a FTL message to the other Decepticons and prepared to leave. Someone else like Soundwave would like to study the world but Laserbeak had other things to do.
Don't treat me like a newb. I've got my other country, Strykla, with over 3 billion people.

The planet was indeed inhabited by the filth of life, just not human.Birds, strange variances of mammals and fish populated it, but not as abundantly as earth. The Panels of the north pole looked as if they had been there for many eons, whatever had built the world and lived at it was nowhere in sight. The constructs that surrounded the northern pole were battered by snow and wind, if one looked hard enough, smaller constructs suddenly appeared all over, some underwater, others overgrown in the rain forests, all seeming to be remnants of cities, but they had no windows or entrances, just odd shapes and equipment that outlined them.
