[Azrabizhan]

Azrabizhan is a nation about the size of Iran. Azrabizhan is ruled by a King who makes all decisions in the Nation. 89% of it's 6,000,000 Citizens practice some form is Islam. The major denomination of 75% being Alfari Muslim, a radical new form of Islam created by Muhammed Alfar, a now 103 year old man. Alfar claims that he was visited by the angel Gabriel and told that he was the "True Son of Allah," and that he alone would able to convert mass waves of non-believers.

The King of Azrabizhan is an Alfari Muslim, and has granted Alfar, and all Alfaris immunity from local police. Also following Alfar is an international Islamic Extremist group that refers to themselves as the Islamic Kings(.ملوك الإسلامية) These insane terrorists are out to convert everyone through any means possible. Recently a Police Station was bombed in Tiesa, a nation known for it's extremly low Muslim Population. A video was then sent to Tiesan President, Verner Auckland the video(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6j8JwUHw ... annel_page) was a message to all nations of the world. The message was "Surrender yourself to Allah, the true bringer of Justice."

In Azrabizhan a small group of Anti-Alfaris is growing. This group calling themselves "Those in Faith," consist of people of all religions, and races that are outraged by these radicals.

On the morning of May 26th, 2009, "Those in Faith" gathered outside an Alfari Mosque in Azrabizhan's Capital, and torched it. The King enraged to see such a building being burnt ordered that the arsonists be arrested. When confronted the Anti-Alfaris refused to be arrested. Police Forces opened fire on the group, and were soon met with equal fire from the Anti-Alfaris.


Riots have broken out all throughout Azrabizhan. Many innocent civilians are dying in the cross-fire. Many homes are being destroyed, and many sreets being filled with blood...

While we respect the sovereignty of every nation, we feel that steps should be taken to remove the King of Azrabizhan. These ‘Islamic Kings’ are clearly supported by your leadership, and we cannot in good faith allow this to continue. We hence issue the following ultimatum:

1. The leadership of The Islamic Kings will be handed over to Tiesa for trial.
2. Known members of The Islamic Kings are to be arrested and tried for terrorism.
3. The King of Azrabizhan is to abdicate with effect immediately
4. Those who chose to be non – Alfaris are to have the right to practice their religion without persecution.

We will await your reply, and failure to adhere to these demands will result in a declaration of war between our two nations.

West Corinthia will be dispatching civilian observers to Azrabizhan to monitor for human rights abuses and to investigate the scene of the massacre of Anti-Alfaris. These observers are to be met with no resistance, and shall be allowed full access to observe the behavior of citizens of Azrabizhan. As they are considered citizens of West Corinthia, you can know that any threat towards these observers will be considered a threat to the West Corinthian state. They will not, however, to interfere with your national sovereignty in any way. This is not a request.

Additionally, we ask that the Most Serene Republic of Master M withdraw its ultimatum until such a time that the Corinthian civilian observers conclude their report on the incident. Taking such provocative action at this time is unjustified and will be viewed as an act of imperialism. If our observers discover that there is indeed a plot to systematically kill and/or oppress the rights of Anti-Alfaris on the basis of religion, you will have our full support.

Thank you for your decision. It is always best to try the option of peace before the option of war. We strongly believe that this situation will inevitably require the deployment of peacekeepers, but we must first have proof of human rights abuses. If this is an isolated incident, there may be no need for nations like ours to become involved. However, if this is the beginning of a civil war or an armed revolt, it will be necessary to send in the troops. We will keep you apprised of any findings by our observers.

Marcus Appius boarded the civilian jet liner nervously. Two Corinthian military policemen had woken him up at 4 A.M. and ordered him to report to Ostia International Airport without any notice. He didn't even know where he was going, but that was part of his job. He was a State Department employee, and he knew that the Corinthian government was always deploying people like him to stations around the world. As he put his first foot on the plane, his cell phone rang.

A voice at the other end said, "Marcus Appius. The captain has your orders. Good luck." The line at the other end hung up.

Marcus put his phone away, frustrated that he had to jump through so many hoops just to find out what he was doing on this aircraft. He ambled into the cockpit and asked the captain for his orders. The captain handed him a sealed envelope addressed from the State Department. Marcus skimmed the orders. "I'm going to Azrabizhan? Isn't that where there was just the massacre of religious nuts?" He continued reading. "Monitoring for human rights abuses....great. I hope I have security at least."

The pilot was surprisingly well-informed. Clearly he was a government agent himself, and had been specifically chosen for this mission. "No armed security." he said. "This is a rush job, and hasn't been cleared by the government of Azrabizhan. We can't infringe their sovereignty by bringing weapons into their country. However, there is no law against civilian observers. If you need help, you have an emergency transponder. You will also be given health monitors, just like the astronauts wear!"

Marcus went in back to apply the health monitoring sensors. He knew his life might be in danger, but he was trained and ready. More importantly than that, he believed in what he was doing. He had witnessed genocides and seen women and children butchered solely because of their heritage or system of beliefs. As a professional civilian observer, Marcus had vowed to put an end to such crimes against humanity. Marcus reclined into an empty seat and began reading a briefing specifically on the nation of Azrabizhan.

Within several hours the civilian airliner was approaching the airspace of Azrabizhan. The pilot hailed Azrabizhan air traffic control. "This is Corinthian heavy 782 with civilian cargo. We request permission to enter your airspace and to land at a civilian airport near your capital city. Please respond."

Anti-Alfari leader, Sunni Musim, Wassim Houssam sat in his office located in a large Military Compound in a remote desert in Azrabizhan. He began writing a letter to all the nations who support their cause.

I would like to personally extend thanks from all us freedom loving citizens of Azrabizhan. I, Wassim Houssam, and my staff of seven are currently finishing the Draft for a new Constitution. Once finished, we plan a march to the King's Palace in the Capital City of Raz'ebad. He must accept the new constitution, and peacefully step down from the throne, and hand over power to the New Prime Minister who shall be elected shortly after recieving the King's Signature. Also, after their capture, the Islamic Kings shall be handed over to Tiesan Authorities where they shall face charges of terrorism. King Nisar's fate is up to that of the Prime Minister who shall soon be elected. We here at the compound personally believe that he should be publicly hung for crimes against humanity."

"Why are these smaller countries so quick to resort to war?" the Emperor rolled his eyes as he took the memo into his hands. "Is our observer in any trouble?"

"None yet." an officer of the Corinthian army, who was also present in the room, interjected. "But if these other countries make good on their threats, he may be. The Azrabizhans have also closed their airspace."

The Emperor reclined and folded his hands behind his head, his eyes heavy with sleep. "You'd think that some of these countries have never heard of basic diplomacy. Well, it's clear what we must do. We cannot allow the imperialists to make a land grab on a sovereign nation. We also cannot allow the Islamic Kings to get away with their crimes unpunished. We also cannot interfere with Azrabizhan sovereignty."

"Orders, sire?"

"Make another statement to the international community. Deploy a squadron of fighters to escort our observer home. Mobilize Legio IX and Legio XIII for rapid deployment if we need them. Tell me when it's done." The Emperor stood and walked out of the room, looking for a place to get some rest.

We had hoped that this could be resolved peacefully. The nation known as Saarland-Vormser has made an unjustifiable threat against the sovereign nation of Azrabizhan. West Corinthia demands that this threat be retracted immediately. Any attack against Azrabizhan for the purpose of imperialist expansion will be retaliated against by the full strength of the Corinthian armed forces. If Saarland-Vormser truly decides to send its entire army as an invasion force, West Corinthia may be required to strike against the very homeland of Saarland-Vormser itself. You have been warned.

Regarding: current situation in Azrabizhan

The holy empire of Tybra consider this situation as an internal affair until the government clearly states they require assistance.
We hereby clearly state our feeling of resent regarding military action taken by nations. Would the situation further escalate, then the holy empire of Tybra would be forced to intervene for the sake of sovereign nations, regardless of their ideals or government structure.
The holy empire of Tybra is not a warmongering nation and hereby give an official warning to nations currently exercising or have the desire to exercise military actions against the sovereign nation of Azrabizhan.
