All eyes are directed towards the Delegate, who bows, he was a man, in his mid-thirties, with a shaved head to about half an inch of hair. He looks around the room with a stern look on his face. "Gentlemen, I understand that you are carving up the Continent of Africa, are you not?" He appears displeased, as if the entire notion was distasteful in every aspect.

"It seems we have a large portion of Africa that goes unclaimed. Are there any nations wishing to expand their ownership into the Congo basin and Zambezi Valley? Perhaps we shall save these territories for the Prussian, Scandinavian, and Holy Roman delegates, who have not yet arrived."

"I also agree with this, as it will be fair to the other nations." Sir William Hughes said, putting his coffee cup aside, and looking at the British Holdings. He looked at Roy,
"The British Empire is very powerful Army-wise, but eh in Navy-wise. We can use our army to flush the natives."

"Perhaps. I for one am not advocating force. We have many established mission stations in the Niger; I think we can expand these into towns, and simply let the word of God turn the natives to our side. Muscat, meanwhile, has practically leapt under our wing. It will not be an issue." Archduke Bertrand put in. He was stopped by the entry of a man in a crimson coat- the Soviet representative. "Ah, yes. That is what we seek to do here, my good gentleman. Are you here to take a slice of the African cake as well?"

"I also agree with this, as it will be fair to the other nations." Sir William Hughes said, putting his coffee cup aside, and looking at the British Holdings. He looked at Roy,

"You are all here to divide Africa for yourselves, to exploit the population for the mainland's benefits. As a duly elected Representative of the Commonwealth, I must announce that this is barbarous, an offense to all sovereign Nations whose roots originate from fighting foreign or domestic tyranny."

"You are wrong. This conference has seen fit to divide Africa into protectorates to bring it into the modern day and to spread Western culture to the barbaric peoples living in squalor there. Our aim is not to destroy Africa." the Archduke said, his head held high.

"Yes, you sound quite familiar like one man the Commonwealth is quite familiar with, a man you may know as the Man of Steel, Joseph Stalin. His glorious image was to sweep the smaller states surrounding Russia and gloriously bring them into the industrial age, and turn their small farms into lush fields with enough food to feed the world, and what did he do? He stole from the Farmers, shot anyone who resisted, forced the peasants into the factories, and shot anyone who didn't meet his quotas."

He looks around the room, raising his head high. "You will do the same, with these people of Africa. Whether purposely or inadvertently, these people will become your slaves. I do not see an African representative present, perhaps they do not want your 'help'. As we did not want Stalin's 'help'."

They had only ever communicated in letters and phone calls, building the complicated bilateral relationship between the two nations that had always remained at least partially in the shade. The King stood and began pacing. "Our parts of Africa will be fully modernized, then integrated into the Danish-Icelandic empire as full Grand Duchies with their own rights and responsibilities. Do not presume to censure the actions of nations greater than your own. Especially your allies. After all, what are you but a nation of simple communists farming in tiny, pathetic communes?" He stepped right in front of Chernov. "Need I remind you how quickly Denmark-Iceland could withdraw our substantial shipments of weapons and ammunition from the Commonwealth and instead begin favoring the USSR?" He studied the delegate's face for a moment, then blew smoke into it. Nodding, he returned to his seat, and the discussion.

"Yes, sharing the Gold Coast is acceptable to us, Sturm. Further, we would like to expand our claim to include the rest of fertile West Africa, ending where the desert flanked by the heathens to the north begins." He placed a small Danish-Icelandic flag on the said territory.

"Yes, this is a great idea. If there is unclaimed land in the Congo Basin, we would love to add the inland area to our protectorate of Korean East Africa."

He then looked at the Byzantine envoy: "I'm sure something can be worked out, and a favorable border drawn up. However we must insist on a strong presence in the northern areas, as the Austro-Hungarians have been greedily looking to expand into parts of Korean East Africa."

We've beaten the Soviets, and we're prepared to do what is necessary to maintain this Nation. Supplying the Soviet Union with weapons and supplies would be most likely seen as an act of war in most Commonwealth Delegates' eyes. But that's a discussion for another time." He pushes past the men, standing in front of the map, examining it closely. "If you, gentlemen, will not listen to reason, then I must claim the entirety of the remaining African territory under Commonwealth jurisdiction. To prevent further imperialistic expansion." He takes out a small miniature flag of the Commonwealth, placing it neatly over the rest of the unclaimed African territory.

Christian looked at the delegate with irritation. "We have our own oil wells in Kanata, as well as plenty of oil rigs. And I think without our weapons, you would find that any war effort you cared to attempt would soon falter. Badly." Standing again, the King plucked the flag from the map and, flicking open his lighter, set fire to it before the Commonwealth delegate could intervene. As it burned slowly to ashes between his fingers, the king looked at Chernov with a superior smile. "Do not attempt to fool us with your communotarian, ill-disguised cryptoimperialist talk. Either claim something openly or leave. If you do not leave voluntarily, I will have my guards escort you. If you do leave, you may still salvage relations with my kingdom." The six Danish guards stood to attention, fingering their Teufel rifles with unease.

"Their action has been somewhat unsavory." The Korean delegate began. "They should change their behavior at once.. or leave."

The Delegate smirked, looking at the King. "It is well we have moved on from such times where such a gesture would be an act of war. I find it... Strange, how quickly you motion to eliminate the Commonwealth from the conference, when the King here openly condemns our Nation and even goes so far to burn our flag." His face turned quite serious. "Your actions will be relayed to the Premier. I am saddened to have to report such barbarous intimidation tactics to him, after all, he is hard at work campaigning for peace between the Commonwealth and the Soviet Union. But if this is the way you conduct yourself in a meeting, burning your supposed Ally's flag in full sight of the entire delegation of Nations, then perhaps such an Alliance was more superficial than we had hoped."

He shakes his head, looking at the map. "The Commonwealth has no interest in being apart of this. May the African people be a scourge upon your Nations." he looks around the room, before turning, slowly putting on his Ushanka, and slowly leaves the room, with his guard in tow.

"Give them something in Afrika, but do not be so foolish as to give these Bolshevik hordes all of it" Sturm finished, and went back to writing notes on a piece of paper he had taken out of his briefcase.

The King watched Chernov leave, then sprinkled the ashes onto the map of Africa. He blew smoke before speaking. "And that, my friends, is what is left of the Danish-Commonwealth alliance. Ashes. Ah, well, I knew it was coming." He sat again. "As I believe I mentioned before, I would like to extend my claim through to the rest of fertile west Africa, ending where the Sa'qa Desert, which is flanked by the Umayyads, begins." To reiterate his point, he placed a small Danish flag next to the two already in place on the Gold Coast and Gambia River.

Christian looked up and smiled. "Greetings, Minister Sorenson. I believe the south-east would suit Prussia well: however, I don't believe I've heard of the Morrocan-Nigerian coast before! Do you perhaps mean the Sa'qan* coast between my proposed colonies and the Umayyads?" He gestured to the strip of empty coastline on his hasty map.
