This just in, Rebels have launched a massive attack against Alkeliitian High Father, Lord Koa. The rebels have attempted to seize control of the cities of Brie, Thanaxon, Derelith, and Suffitica. The High Father has mobilized a strike force to quell the rebellions and has ordered his personal guard to defend the capital of Koatia.
Several Hours later...
"Commander Sefaro, sir." the man saluted.
Offering a salute back, Sefaro brought the young officer to a dusty map on a small wooden table in a dark basement. The sounds of artillery exploding above, people screaming, gunshots and planes flying overhead could be heard outside. With each artillery strike, dust would drop from the ceiling and the building would shake.
"What are we looking at Lieutenant?"
The Lieutenant pulled out a pad and began pointing to regions on the map. "Well Commander, we have taken Brie, Thanaxon, and Derelith and have taken heavy losses. The remainder of our forces are attempting to take Suffitica, as you can hear outside. Once we have Suffitica, we can then move on Koatia."
Sefaro grabbed his M4 and walked towards the basement stairs. "Gentlemen, grab your gear, we've got a city to clear."
"Hello and thank you for tuning into WKSB radio. More news concerning the rebellion has surfaced. Thanaxon, Derelith and Brie have fallen to the rebels. Hundreds of thousands of civilians are dead and many more are wounded. The High Father has issued a message stating that despite how powerful or organized these Rebels seem, one must retain faith in Him, thus assuring victory to Aleliitian forces.
Listeners, I have just received word that Suffitica has fallen to the Rebels. This is grave news indeed. May God be with out High Father as the Rebels make the march towards Koatia. I'm sure the nations prayers are with the families who have lost loved ones and for the families in Koatia."
Suddenly a loud crash can be heard over the radio, some shuffling around the mic, followed by the DJ's pleas for help. A gunshot. Silence. Another gunshot. Rebel propaganda is now being played over the airwaves, telling the citizens of Alkelii the 'truth' about their Leader and asking them to take up arms against Koa.
Two days of hard fighting later...
The city of Koatia lay in a smoldering ruin in the midday sun. Fires burned all over the place, and the High Fathers Palace was in shambles. Dead Rebels, civilians, and High Guard soldiers littered the streets and walkways up to the palace.
Inside the palace, the scene was not so different. Dead bodies cramped the hallways, blood stained the walls, all making a trail to the High Father's Quarters.
"Brother, please. Don't do this. I'm not worth the bullet. I'll leave. I'll just leave, I'll find somewhere to go and I'll never come back. Please Sefaro, please don't do this." Koa begged while on his knees in front of Sefaro.
"You had me locked up, tortured and sent to a slave camp Koa! Your own flesh and blood for God's sake. You showed me no mercy and now that lack of mercy will carry on into your last moments." With that, Sefaro picked Koa up by his uniform collar and tossed him onto the balcony, overlooking what was left of the town square. A few civilians and Rebels mingled about, anxious to hear what was to be said.
"People of Alkelii, heed me! Your leader, the High Father Koa is not who you thought he was! For years, he has been keeping a constant eye on you all and punishing any and all who defy his laws. He has taken your freedoms, political and otherwise. I, his own brother, was sent by him to a slave labor camp after being imprisoned and tortured. With this final sound, the gunshot that will be heard 'round Alkelii, the old regime will die and the new begin. People of Alkelii, get ready to taste freedom!"
Sefaro brought Koa to his feet, put the gun to his forehead and pulled the trigger. Koa's lifeless body slumped down over the balcony and fell towards the earth with a dull thud upon impact. A few screams were heard.
Sefaro turned to his second in command. "Lieutenant. Fortify this palace for any counterattacks from the former High Guard. Start communications with any outlying nations asking for aid in rebuilding."
OOC: In summary, Koa was a corrupt dictator who's brother, Sefaro became the leader of a Rebellion which eventually overthrew Koa. Sefaro is now the leader of Alkelii and is now rebuilding the destroyed cities and grand palace.
