"Unfortunate, but reasonable." continued Ambassador Smith, "Well instead, we'd like to bring up a different issue in its place. Colonel Grishim?"

Colonel Grishim took a final swig of his coffee, though it was more like vodka accented with caffeine. Shifting in his seat he looked at Associate Amida.

"In recent conflicts, the Karaigian Armed Forces has seen and used foreign sonic weaponry on the field of battle, especially their proficiency in heavy urban combat. Now we're quite interested in acquiring advanced sonic technology as the pickings from factions in the Altarian Galaxy is slim and unfavourable. On top of that much of the military's budget is being allocated elsewhere, we have little room to develop sonic technology capable of blasting bunkers and roads of mines, nothing man portable at least. So would your establishment have technology for purchase? We mostly seek capacitors."

"Blasttech Industries has a fine selection of sonic weaponry," Amida smiled brightly, whipping schematics and write-ups about his datapad as he distributed them to the Karaigan delegation. "The 'Shredder' Sonic grenade, for example, is a BI-patented device in use by the Imperial Army. They have been quite pleased with it, according to reports." He leaned forward and glanced down the table to Katsu for confirmation, who merely nodded. "The grenades can be configured for non-lethal, debilitating or lethal pulses, so at their lowest settings they can be used as a crowd-control weapon, while the highest are capable of knocking out medium armored vehicles.

"Blasttech also produced the sonic weapons used aboard XIA Mizu Hebi submarines, as well as the components in various stun weapons that use sonic blasts to disorient and disable targets. At the moment most of our sonic weapons are non-lethal personal defense models, for law enforcement agencies and civilian markets, with a few lethal or emplacement arrays like those mentioned. If you desire, a contract could be made for Blasttech to produce and sell man-portable sonic rifles and cannons to the Karaigan military for neutralizing hardened structures, though a sonic device for clearing minefields would be a little more complex. Would you be seeking a vehicle-towed unit, perhaps developed for your Buffalo Combat Engineering Vehicles, or a man-portable unit?" He frowned. "I am not sure what you mean by capacitators, the term is unfamiliar to me. Can you elaborate?"

"No a towed platform will not do," replied Grishim as hey took another sip of his caffeinated vodka. "We plan to make a sonic weapon able to be carried by troops, specifically in urban scenarios, though I towed weapon would be effective, it would just be a large target in an urban environment, and its mobility would impede troops if they had to set it up every time the front shifted. No, we're looking for a heavy weapon, a cannon to be carried by troops, something you could give to the heavy weapons troopers of each squad. It will not be used on individual troops, mostly tearing up roads to deny enemy armoured support, to blast bunkers, and flush out enemy forces. That is the power we require; if it has to be attached to a backpack system, so be it, Karaigian BRATs are equipped and trained to be able to storm positions with other weapons that would hinder soldiers of other nations."

"On capacitors, I am sorry. I should have said emitters, as we can easily make a cannon, but lack the portable sonic emitter technology to fabricate such a thing. As for the gren-"

"Hold up Colonel," Amstres surgically cut it. "Before we continue on the cannon, what can Blasttech offer in the form of towed sonic weapons? I can see the use for defensive situations, and if a large open area, say a highway or park, is the zone of engagement, we could plant one to use as force suppression. However, as you know, most vehicles are taken out easily in urban scenarios without massive infantry support, unless of course they are purely urban oriented. We would require a towed cannon that would be low, as to not attract fire, and pack enough punch to bring down buildings. It gets trickier as the towed platform would need to be light, as rubble can make the battlefield a very three dimensional area, so it would be pleasant getting it up a pile of rubble. Sorry, back to you Grishim."

"Thank you Amstres," mumbled Grishim. "On the grenades, they aren't exactly on our list at the moment, as they overlap with our Magma grenades. Basically the same concept only on a lethal level as our grenades release bursts of localized microwaves to melt things. Though they are expensive, so maybe your sonic grenades could be used, though may I ask; can the power of a shredder be boosted if we forgo the stun settings and such? We plan for the sonic weaponry to be very lethal given the intensity of urban scenarios and in our experience, the viciousness of entrenched hostiles."

"Blasttech could easily create a lethal variant of the stun rifles already in production, adapted for your purposes," the Associate told Grishim eagerly. "No backpack would be necessary, it would be powerful in its own right though probably short ranged. If you have spec-" He blinked as he was cut off by Amstres, but clasped his hands and listened intently, head cocked. Musing on that, he waved the man's apology away and bade Grishim to continue, clearly in thought. When the two were finished he finally spoke again, addressing Grishim first.

"As I said, Colonel, your man-portable sonic cannon is perfectly plausible. Considering Blasttech already has experience with the technology and suitable existing designs to work with, the first prototypes could be demonstrated in a matter of weeks, with the first shipments arriving in under a year's time assuming the prototypes are met with approval. For the Shredder grenades, the non-lethal settings could be removed, but that would not boost their output." He frowned. "I will contact our Research and Development Department, but I'm not sure that there is a viable way to make them more powerful without requiring standard explosives-level clearance for handling and use. As it stands the Shredder devices could eliminate any infantry type and neutralize armored vehicles if used correctly, anything more powerful would be better suited for large-scale demolition."

Tail curling, he faced Amstres with a nod. "Captain. Blasttech Industries's chief customer is the Xiscapian Imperial Army, and the Imperial Army doesn't order much in the way of sonic weaponry outside of certain specialized areas. So, we do not currently produce or have designs for a towed cannon like the one you describe, but given time and specifications one could be manufactured. It wouldn't be difficult to borrow ideas from existing mobile cannon products, the weapon could probably be constructed lighter than a comparable autocannon with similar power. Size would not be a problem either, you need only to submit the specifications."

"I believe then, if a sonic cannon is plausible, then the Karaigian Military would be exceptionally interested in such a project. We would more than appreciate it if Blasttech could develop a prototype, while BRAWN would supply the interchangeable construction template. Its just a way we make weapons, allowing certain parts to be interchanged and it keeps the cost down as the wide array of parts is mostly the same and compatible across all platforms." said Grishim, taking another swig of his drink. "Do you find this acceptable?"

"Yes, as for the towed platform honourable Representative, tell me; if we kept it fairly light for a toed gun, what can I expect for destructive properties? I expect infantry and buildings, but what about reinforced emplacements and positions, or vehicles? What results can I expect, I know the prototype isn't even in development, but what do you estimate with your technology?" inquired Captain Amstres.

"If BRAWN is willing to cooperate with Blasttech in the design of the device then I see no reason why we cannot go forward with the request," Amida nodded, smiling once more. "Once I have the details I can relay them to corporate proper and they can dispatch more representatives to the Karaigan Military and BRAWN for oversight purposes. I'm sure such a relationship would be beneficial to all involved parties." He closed his muzzle for a moment to listen to Captain Amstres, clasping his hands lightly, ears perked attentively. When he posed his question the kitsune started to send him information through his datapad.

"One fundamental principle you must understand, Captain, is that any sonic weapon is by nature variable in power," he explained. "Output is increased or decreased according to the conditions of the environment the device is being utilized in. In an urban area on a world with gravity like this one the towed weapon could be expected to neutralize small groups of infantry, armored bunkers and light vehicles with a few seconds of concentrated fire, no more than five. On a planet with a lighter atmosphere and, say, extensive specific radiation, the range and destructive capabilities of the cannon may be reduced, while if it were fired while submerged in water its capability for target elimination would likely be exponentially increased. It all depends on where and how it is used."

"Thank you Honorable Representative." Said Grishim. "We'll forward the schematics by the end of the week.

"Fair enough, I'll take your word for it, as the tech behind it is not my area of expertise." replied Amstres.

Ambassador Breighton turned across and looked and the Vanadict. Clearing his throat, he spoke.

"I believe it is your turn to field a proposition or issue, unless you have nothing else?"

Sorry, just trying to move this along. Shitty post, but I have other issues at the moment.

No worries. Let's wrap this up.

Terridan, Sheranix Tower...

Looking between each other, the eight Xiscapian corporate and official representatives flicked their tails, communicating silently. A few of them had things they would want to discuss with each other or counterparts, but that would be in private, after the meeting. All the items on the agenda had been checked off. Overall, it had gone faster than expected. The Karaigan had been quite accommodating.

"We have nothing else," the Vanadict confirmed at last. "If none from your end have any more matters to discuss, then we may adjourn this meeting."

"Well, then I am glad to say this summit is closed." said Breighton as he stood up. "On behalf of the Extrasolar Empire of Karaig, I thank you for your time and attendance to this summit. We look forward to future interactions with the Kitsune Empire of Xiscapia. So I believe it is in order to break up, maybe get more food from the buffet, converse, and discus things of varying degrees. If not, we can close this down and we will see you Honourable Representatives off."

With that the Karaigian delegation began to rise, gathering datapads and stretching a bit. Ones like Admiral Boursenski and Captain Amstres went off towards the buffet, mostly to restock on the coffee. John Sevn, and most of the corporate arm of the delegation remained seated, sending data and schematics between mutliple sources.

Not a bad rp. Nothing too serious, slightly laid back, and it didn't die! Maybe next time we both have room, a bigger rp to further our nations' relations/
