Ambassador Alberik Hans slowl walked through the halls of the Palace Vacker. Created in 1203, it was one of the Kalmar Union's greatest monuments. Today, and perhaps for the rest of he year if all went well, it would be the home of numerous foreign diplomats. The reason for the gathering was a trading group. Not onl was this venture's purpose to make the Kalmar Union richer, but also perhaps strengthen foreign relations. Alberick's purpose at this event was to keep the talks running smoothly and to make sure nothing was taken as an insult. The actual merchants would be doing the bartering and trading. Alberick turned into the a corridor leading to the Great Hall. He walked onto the main balcony, the place where the leaders of the Union would address the people. Once in, he looked all around. It was magnificent. In his opinion, it rivaled, no, was better than any of the palaces throughout the world. This room was were the main meetings would take place. The enormous vaulted room was already being decorated. Hundreds of servants and workers scurried around from his vantage point, all in a rush to finish by the deadline. As Alberik walked down the stairs leading to the balcony, he ran into Alvar Reid, the main merchant for the meeting. The shook hands. "So Alberik, how goes the response from the rest of the world? Alberik sighed. "So far only one nation has responded, perhaps they did not get the invitations?" Alvar laughed. "Probably, the couriers that tok it were, incompetent to say the least. It probably never arrived at all."
"Apparently they are sending out more invitations today, hopefully more will respond and attend. THis conference has the chance to become something great. I am sorry I can not stay for idle talk, I must return to my office and begin studying the attending diplomat's profile. I would recommend you do the same for your fellow merchant. It will be most helpful when you barter as I have found in m numerous encounters with foreign diplomats. Alvar nodded. "I may just do that, thank you for the advice. Good day ambassador." With those words Alvar strode out of the room. Alberik slowly walked towards his room in silence. Shouting broke that silence. "Sir, Sir! You requested that a cop of the letter that is to be sent to the other nations be given to you." The servant handed Alberik the letter. "Thank you boy" Alberik opened the letter.
