Now that we have a Russia, perhaps We could negotiate my beautiful Kalifornia's independence.

I understand it's not likely, but I think an independent Kalifornia Republik would be fun.

I could also RP as the Knights of Saint John, but since they are sworn not to fight other Christians, then I don't know how much action I would get.

Again, I would love to be an independent Kalifornia, and I'd Russia would even allow me to be an autonomous Dominion, I would be grateful.

Not sure on the vow but if you are referring to the Summer war that is a localized thing between Sweden and Myself. I'd be in support of you taking over the order if you want.

I'll think about it, but the Knights are still obligated to sere the Tsar, as long as he doesn't interfere with their vows.

Tsar Paul became Grand Master of the Knights of Malta, but lost the title when Napoleon dissolved them. Many of the knights fled to Russia, however, and even today they have a fairly large presence there.

In EE's timeline, the Order eventually nominated another Russian Tsar, who so enhanced their reputation that they made the title hereditary to the Romanov family.

In terms of religious makeup, the order would probably accept Catholic and Orthodox members by this juncture, although I don't know that they would take Protestants. Perhaps only as lay-members.

Also, keep in mind that part of the mission of the Hospitallars is to, you know, heal people. They aren't obligated to kill all non-Christians, and, indeed, as a sort of inheritance from their 20th century role as a charitable organization, are obligated to assist all those who are in need. As long as they're not fighting back

That is somewhat essential, given the Russian Empire's LARGE number of non-Christian subjects.

Really? Well, I'm the Kalmar Union now anyway, and I'm happy with that. Grat and I had a discussion on the IRC and he said he'd like to take over Russia, and I said that I would be happy to take the Union if he did so (as I was told England wasn't available). We're now planning a 'Summer War' between the Kalmar Union and the Russian Empire, and I've just gotten England's north American possessions so we're now neighbours! (You have French Quebec I think). England is apparently going to be compensated for said losses, and Scandinavia and Spain are hopefully going to embark on a joint colonization effort shortly.

Just thought I'd point out that there is a difference between the Magyar Empire and the Federation of Cossacks. The Magyar Empire is Hungary Proper and Territories while the Federation of Cossacks would be the many fleets of Cossack pirates that fly around space and steal from unsuspecting or undefended ships. I'm going to use context clues to assume you were inviting the Magyar Empire, and not a space pirate to the Imperial Palace (that would be a bad idea ). Not angry, but it seems to be something that keeps coming up with several different people.

Alright Guys, this is kinda inevitable. My personal life+school have become a little to much for nationstates and EE. I wish to abandon Portugal for now.

If UN permits, The Iberian Union could reform, as Castille, Cordoba, and I have been discussing it. Portugal will still be sovereign and maintain its Empire, but will be a member state of said union. That way, if Castille is bogged down/surrounded he can RP a Portuguese Expedition to come to his aid. However, Neither Castille or Cordoba will have direct power over the Empire. It's complicated and all, but maybe it'll keep the seat warm for my return in a few weeks or months.

So very sorry, and I will try my best to return. Thanks OMG and UN for providing such an awesome RP experience, I love E:E.
