The Frankish Emperor considers himself King of The Romans. Is that a problem? ;)

Let's put it this way: In a previous version of EE, India was almost completely exterminated because the Padishah-Emperor claimed a title belonging to the Russian Tsar. I should know, I was India. Titles are taken VERY seriously in EE. France is sufficiently powerful to deal with any threat from Constantinople, of course, but I'd still think twice before making a claim that will cause diplomatic tension with another major power, ESPECIALLY one with Russia backing it. You'll be in trouble if anyone ever actually plays Russia. Until then I suppose your safe.

The Greek facade is led by a Caesar of the Julio-Claudian Dynasty; Roman does indeed apply. Caesar does indeed apply, King of the Romans does indeed apply. The Hordes of Gaul should remember their place.

On a serious note, war is the last thing the Empire needs, with all those colonies attempting to rebel and what-not. He's currently trying to find a solution to dealing with that problem. Until then, should Abyssinia desire, the CA will always be open to them. To appease the Roman-pretenders, the title of King of the Romans shall no longer be used. Thus easing tensions, and averting a major war.

Well Cordoba, your league will have to make some pretty good offers to draw the Emperor's eye. "Martel the Quaker" has had a headstart on you. ;)

Ek, my propsoal.

The Spanish Coalition - A league of nations minor and large gathered in the shadow of the Spanish Empire; they vary in strength, stablity and even style of government; they're some of Spain's greatest allies, even those who were once enemies.

ie; the official roster of the PPP.

I'm there already, actually. I just lack a coalition such as the RHL or CA or RC. I'm IN the CA for that matter.

I'd say that the "King/Emperor of the Romans" title has been so watered down over the ages that, even if there is an official claimant to it, they would have a hard time proving their case. I mean, even in modern times it was difficult to track who REALLY had the title.

What matters are titles IN FACT. If I claim to be King of Derpistan, and hold that nation physically in my power, then another guy comes along and says "No, I'M king of Derpistan!" then it becomes an issue. If somebody claims to be 'King of the Romans'...Well, pretty much everybody claims to be King of the Romans. It, at most, warrants a few skirmishes if somebody wants to solidify their claim on that particular title for prestige reasons, but it's not really worth actually going to war over.

And no, England doesn't control Gibraltar.

Well, there you go. I'd say OMG's judgement outranks mine. But I'd still be cautious about claiming that particular title when it's ALREADY the centre of some dispute between Italy and the Roman Empire. Might be best to avoid being sucked into that particular debate.

I think Abysinnia player should take his position in clearly. It is only an independent state because of Russia due to there religious ties. Abyssinia Owes Russia for keeping it Independent from aggressive powers like France for so long. Whilst Abyssinia is developed and powerful enough to do its own things now and defend its self relatively well (Abyssinian Armies are already westernised.... to an extent). You are free to do what you want but when a Russian player does come along Russia will be pissed if you left them after all they did for you.

Fair enough. But any Russian player will feel the same way if they've lost Japan and Kalifornia (possibly). Like I said in the original post, I've got no problem with not doing that. I just thought it would be a good idea. I'll keep thinking.
