Arike looked down at Kiden's arm. "I thought that you'd would've gone to get that looked at first thing." she swirled her finger until she though she had enough, then she sucked his blood off her fingers. "Mmmmm." she purred into his ear. "I knew you weren't human! No one enjoys "that" as much as you do." Kiden said in a definsive tone. "Maybe I'm human, maybe I'm not." she said. "Ok that's not funny." Kiden said.

Then he finally understood why Igor asked him not to tell. Jessika walked away in search of Igor.

What would things have been like if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive? Or if during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? The Organs would quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!

Arike stood and watched her watch as Iriqios ran for his life. "Honey, come on, you can beat his ass later." She looked at him and hissed loudly. "OKAY OKAY JEEZ!" he said loudly. "Just try to leave him alive, preferably with all of his limbs alright?" he asked her. She turned and winked at him, then she ran for Iriqios. Kiden shouted to Iriqios, "RUN FOREST, RUN!!"
