Yeah, it seems like what PE needs is a cleansing of inactive nations and one or two appointed mods for when Saaren is gone.

We could do a "citizen" RP, where one person does their own nation (mostly for internal progression really) and a bunch of others do citizens that maybe get embroiled in a conspiracy!

Like maybe Grandmaster Horal dying and his protege becoming the new Grandmaster.

Brief Background Of Your Nation: Due to the social inequalities inherent in the system, a mass uprising of plebes wracked the modern Roman Empire in Turkey, Greece and Syria. Those who led their people to 'freedom' were no great fools for the most part, and their first wave of carefully orchestrated attacks succeeded in killing the Imperial Family while in Greece, and most of the Legion's High Command in the capitol of Istanbul.

In response to these atrocities, Martin Gram, one of the surviving Roman generals, collected all the forces under his command and systematically butchered the rebel Turks over a matter of years, by turns reclaiming or destroying all military forces he came across; the choice was join or die. Unfortunately, the hastily created provisional government was forced to leave Greece and Syria to the local rebels; reclamation and consolidation in the Roman heartland was their only path to success, and already a difficult road without spreading themselves thin across Aegea and the Middle East.

Once order was relatively restored in Turkey, both sides thought there would be a reprieve from the constant blood-letting; Martin Gram had other ideas. At his order, thousands of one-time Citizens were tried and in many cases convicted of treason against the Empire. The newly crowned Caesar, styled Martinus Caesar, issued three decrees from his newly recaptured throne at Constantinople: All those legally convicted of treason would be impaled or crucified along all the major highways of Turkey outside the large cities; all those relatives of convicted traitors under the age of sixteen would be made into slaves and sold at the auction block to Latin Citizens; and no Turk could hold full Citizenship without first serving honorably in the newly reformed military Auxillia. Instead they would become peregrini, free non-Citizens expected to do the heavy lifting of making peace and war in this new empire.

During the insurrection, many loyal Citizens had fled the bloodshed, both real and expected, seeking shelter in the Free Republic of Malta. Later, a large portion also made for Tunisia, protected as it was by the massive Saracen and Templar nations of North Africa on every side but the coast; that section was watched vigilantly by their Maltese neighbors. All expected the rebels to turn outward once they secured their prize, but to their collective surprise and delight, those who came to find them were Romans. In their turn, the Imperials were simultaneously shocked and pleased to find that two strategically placed nations had become instant strongholds for cause of Empire.

Thus was born the Imperium Romanus.
