Absofrigginlutely. I used to play Feazanthia concurrently in MT and FT. In fact, Feazanthia in FT is the result of a semi-failed colony expedition by Feazanthia in MT.

How does one go about finding a region of like-minded people for roleplay? Unlike most roleplay forums, Nationstates has no set location, theme, era, or rules. I'm in the midst of creating a factbook and I want to create something useful for people when roleplaying. How do I go about creating one that's in line with roleplay? I don't want to roleplay some giant nation with 14 billion people like my page says. But what happens when someone I'm roleplaying with goes "lol well my nation has an army of 2.5 billion #rekted son!!!1!11!"?

In terms of finding RPers, all you can really do is browse. If you come across an RP you like, and it's part of a community, feel free to look into it, ask about, talk to the people there. Alot of these RP regions and what not will have an IRC channel or something to join where you can talk to various players, and perhaps start setting up an RP. The first one that springs to mind at the moment is #NSSanctuary on esper, give that a shot and see if you can find a group there that fits what you're looking for.

I have several caveats to this, Vinstin. Lubyak is correct that the best thing you can do is browse and get in touch with people. I honestly think that going to #NSSanctuary is a slight (read: COLOSSAL) waste of time. Here's my advice: Find people you want to write with and start building a small circle of friends that you can call upon to write with you. That's really the best way to go about it. That being said, I have a roleplay open that I've just started and I am desperately looking for people to join as two of the three people who initially expressed interest reneged. I took a gander at your posts and could only find a couple IC posts and these were short. If you want good writers to write with you, you're going to have to show them some credentials, i.e. long, detailed posts with impeccable writing conventions. And by long I mean, like, five or six paragraphs. Nothing enormous. If you can demonstrate to me that you can write, I would love to have you in my roleplay. That way you can get the ball rolling by getting some good posts up on a thread that you can link other people to. Right now you're in the vicious cycle of "I can't write with anyone because I don't have any writing because I can't write with anyone..." and I'm essentially offering you an exit from that.

How do I get people to join my rp? I had a couple of people post on my OOC thread, but besides saying they are interested, they have yet to post.

Telegramming RPers you know might be interested in the RP/your region mates is always a good place to start. Also, TGing those lads who said they were interested would be a useful effort. In general terms, making your OP neat and easy to understand, but with a twist that distinguishes it from the forum-at-large, is the best way to attract arbitrary RPers browsing. A snazzy title doesn't hurt either.

Which wiki site is the one the most people use? NSwiki, IIwiki or Wikistates?

Depends for what. Wikistates is mostly dead, from what I've seen, and only a few people really use it still. NSWiki(.org) is, in my opinion, a cheap knock-off of the old NSWiki(.net), and I know a lot of RPers refuse to use it for various reasons. IIwiki is probably the most popular and most active among the RPing communities.

IIwiki has the largest user base and staff. I'm not really into wikis myself, but it's fairly easy to use IIRC.

NSWiki is down and Wikistates was all but abandoned. IIWiki is really the only option, presently, and it has an active staff.

What Tech Level would my nation be classified as? My nation RP's as Rosekstan, a Hi-Tech nation from the Blue dragon Universe. What tech level would my nation be (ignoring the Fanasy-Tech and presuming that I am in the regular universe)?

Is it high tech, like everyone has the latest iPhone, or high tech in that there are ray guns or intergalactic travel.

Essentially, there are flying battleships (in the anime, they are actually called battleships). In the Anime they have particle cannons (Grand Kingdom, which in the anime, was the precursor to Rosekstan had a flying ship that was the size of a city and could vaporize entire cities under it). There are also robots. Civilian technology would be about in the 60's or 70's though. Civilians use swords instead of guns. Also Rosekstan also had shield technology. There however is no space going technology.

This definitely seems like a variety of FT rather than anything else. It definitely would not be smiled upon in most MT RPs.

The USSR's economy was roughly 40% of the US's throughout the Cold War, even during the Brezhnev stagnation. If I was to gradually introduce market reforms into my nation from the late 50's onwards (As Beria wanted to do), could I hope to match the US economy? My population is around the same size as the US, and my GDP per capita is a bit smaller. I have a similar amount of natural resources as Russia, and I should get a number of export partners when I eventually start RPing.

I'd put it as PMT/FanT, and probably being towards the "later" end of PMT. Without space travel it's not going to work well as an FT nation.

With regard to one of the nations within my region, how is the best way to do an RP.

Illogicalities of geography aside [it's a mixture of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and a new shape of land I threw in on the map for the nation linked to; but the nations are bigger than the RL counterparts, and different shapes to RL!] (but then this is NS, after all!), how would be the best way to do an imperial RP (Bear in mind I took inspiration from when Croatia and Serbia were part of the Austro-Hungarian empire, and the Habsburg dynasty, but took out the war stuff), especially on a diplomacy and war level, where the emphasis is more on the characters, than "I've got bigger weapons than you!".

This is sort of creating a back-story for my nation but the RP'ers are not RP'ing as natives of my nation but as countries fighting for the territory and foreigners invited to the ruling court and dynasty; would this work as a diplomatic story?

It's set in around the era of the French Revolution, when men wore wigs and suits like this:
Image

This isn't an advert for it, but a discussion of whether it's feasible; I don't want to start it off if it's unlikely to gain any interest.

On IIWiki
I have multiple puppets here; only a select few are used to represent the continent of Astholm; others used represent Westholme, and do not artificially boost my nation's statistics.Previously i used puppets with nation names that did not identify as Astholm (e.g. Australis Australia; now all new puppets use ASTHLM, NORTHLM, SOUTHLM, WESTHLM (HLM denoting The Holmes.
NOTE: Other uses of Astholm here have a different continuity and refer to work created by the user Astholm, not the nation

That entirely depends on where you're sending them, the size of your fleet, your strategic partners to facilitate fleet mobility and refueling, the quality of your supply infrastructure, etc.

Pick the number you think you should be able to send. Divide that by 10. In general terms, you'll be closer to what you could realistically deploy; even so, there are far too many variables to account for to simply give you a straight figure, as each deployment will be highly situation-dependent.

Glancing at your posts, I can see that you have frequently posted one liners which irritate a lot of people. Perhaps, that's why they consider that you're spamming. I suggest that you make your posts more detailed. Some people have difficulty deciding what to write. I suggest that you read as much as possible - that'd help you a lot.

Taking the post where you'd written about your leader committing suicide, you could've added a lot more details - to begin with who is making this announcement - a newspaper? government spokesperson?; then at what time did he suicide?, where?, how?, was a suicide note found? Moreover, you could read a RL (Real Life) news where someone committed suicide and killed their family members - that'd give you at least some idea on what to write.

Also, rather than posting straightaway, write your story on Word or note pad. As you research and think over it, more ideas will start coming to your mind. Furthermore, don't think that you need to be very frequent while posting. Hundred bad one liners are much worse than a single, good piece of writing.

I'll help with a certain situation.

I have a military alliance in a region close by an enemy that starts multiple conflicts.
My military is massive (This nation alone carrying 36 million troops), with a rather sizable navy.
I am sending as a full scale invasion, and as I said, I have allies very close by.
My ships are made for long distances, and for heavy firepower.
As an invasion, all three branches are represented, so could you provide an estimate there?
I'm asking so I don't send maybe 10 million troops at once, but everyone thinks I can only send 5 or 6 mil.
