It can be in either NS or II, and which forum one uses for such is really a matter of preference; you can RP conflict in NS. You can also do a conflict roleplay, of course, in II. Santheres is correct.

I wasn't saying he was wrong, I know you can. I just believe it belongs in II because on the Board Index, the description of International Incidents says: A staging-point for declarations of war and other major diplomatic events. [In-character]

whereas the description of NationStates states: Where nations come together and discuss matters of varying degrees of importance. [In-character]

The fact that the description for II states it is a staging point for declarations of war makes me feel like it belongs more in International Incidents then NationStates. Though I never disagreed with the fact that it is the players own personal preference.

Solo RP Placement

Postby New Emperica » Thu Apr 05, 2012 6:45 pm

I was just wondering where I would place a solo RP. It's about the 'Comrades' Resistance' from the First Aurora War. It'll be mainly character, but have quite a bit of fighting as well. I was just wondering...would it go in International Incidents or NationStates? Since it isn't an RP war with someone else, I was thinking NationStates, but wanted to be sure.

As addressed a few posts above, it can go in either, it's personal opinion. You can get into specifics and choose one but It's your preference. If you did want to get into specifics, I'd advise Nationstates simply because it's character based, but either works.

Can someone please explain to me what this NS description means? "It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but..."

(If I'm trying to create a sensible, mixed-economy democracy) Is it a good thing or a bad thing to have that in your nation's description? What does it mean? Thanks!

And if it's not something a democratic Western country should have in their profile, what measures should I take to correct it? Thanks. :)

Welcome to the roleplaying realms of NationStates.

First off, issues and issue answering are not a part of roleplaying. You are free to roleplay your nation without having to adhere to what your gameplay account says, whether it be the economic "frightening" indicator, nor the very description of your nation which your account page says. Feel free to creatively pursue your dream, and what you envisage your nation to be, within the scope of the roleplaying world in NationStates.

Do not be restricted with the likes of NationStates calculators (there are tons out there, don't look at themz calculatorz. They are not a part of NS roleplay).

Secondly, issues answering and issue stuff are not to be asked here. This is strictly a question and answering thread for the world of roleplaying in NationStates, and not gameplay nor NationStates issues.

For issues answering, questions and any other things in general, feel free to post your question at the appropriate thread here: viewforum.php?f=13

To expand upon this somewhat, all of what Yohannes said is generally accepted as true, but if you want to, you are free to restrict what you roleplay as to what you find in a calculator or on your NS page. While this is not recommended by most roleplayers, it is still a valid form of roleplay.

:eyebrow: I think perhaps my question has created a wee bit of confusion due to how I worded it. I don't want to restrict my roleplaying or "run" my nation based on what it says in the description. All I wanted to know was what this sentence means: "It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but..."

What is that description/sentence saying about the way certain countries such as mine are governed?

Oh ok. Basically it means your government is massive and regulates so much that a given company could be equally said to be run by the government as privately. Essentially your government controls basically everything.

The right place for issue questions and answering stuff, as I've told you previously, may be reached upon by clicking the following: viewforum.php?f=13

This is not the place for any gameplay-related questions. But yes, what Kagetora said was right, and his description of your nation was right as well.

Hi New to Nation States

Ok my nation is a collection of Elven people (Yes Elves) We use magic just like any fantasy nation but we are also learning technology. I guess where a little like one of the Elven Shadowrun nations, but with any PMT tech more like modern tech.

Question is where do we fit in looking for incident and other RP events, i don't want to step on any ones toes and get them upset. A friend of mine is having a lot of grief with his FT nation and i don't want to make the same mistakes.

Thank you

Both, actually.

If others in the RP agree to let you use FanT, then you're all good. If you can't, just keep the fantasy element out of it.

Though you can have both in your nation's history.

I would just like to note that Wellboneland is far from a reliable source of information in this regard.

Pony RP is a mixed FanT/MT environment, and we most definitely do not hate FanT. Indeed, Crystal Spires, one of NS's more prominent FanT nations is a common RPer with us. We rather enjoy FanT, and embrace it whole heartedly.

I post this just to correct a point of misinformation.
