The Rise From The Ashes of the Fallen State

Postby Transylvanistan » Tue Jun 07, 2011 10:27 am

Bakuningrad, Transylvanistan

It had been weeks since the fall of the Soviet Republic and the country was in a civil war. The communists were pushed out of a couple provinces and managed to hold some. One of the lost provinces, the Bakuningrad Province was the home of the capitol. It now controlled by the Royalists who installed Ruslan II, the former King couped in 1965 as the monarch of the Kingdom. The monarchy was backed by liberals, conservatives, and moderates. The Kingdom’s enemies were the Communists and Fascists. The military had split and its forces aligned with the factions. The forces in Bakuningrad had chosen to align with the Royalists, which allow them to seize the capitol and began the first step to liberating the nation. Now, the Royal Armed Forces prepared for its offensive against the Communists and far right, after weeks of holding its position.

Rusland Province, Transylvanistan State

The Rusland Province was a neighboring province and was seized by the fascist from the communists. Now the Royalists were on the move to liberate it. The 1st Motor Rifle Division of the Royal Army was assigned to captured the province, and secure it. Major General Hrachik Haigazian was the commander of the Division and at 5:00pm gave the order to enter the province. Aerial recon reported a number of troops near a depot, few miles from the border. A brigade was tasked with capturing the depot while the rest of the division advanced to its objective. The CAP had engaged a group of enemy fighters in the skies and knocked out 10 fighters, and lost 2. The recon also reported the enemy had fortified the objective city, which had to be tackled first. The fortification surrounded the city and comprised of artillery, tanks, air defenses, and anti-armor units. However some of the fascist’s force was busy fighting the communists in another province which was going to be a bad thing once they learned of the division’s push. The brigade that headed to the depot reported that they had taken some causality, but most importantly they had captured what was discovered to be an ammo dump for the fascists. So, they had accidently severed the supply line for the fascists. Now, the push to the city began. The task was to eliminate the defenses and capture the city. First, the artillery based on the images from the recon aircraft targeted the defenses. The 152mm artillery hit home on the defensive positions. The enemy responded with the remaining guns it had. Air assets took out the remaining positions, pushing the fascists into the city, which the royalists followed. The city was small and had few tall structures, and some of the buildings had fascist propaganda on them. The objective for the force was the city hall which the leadership of the fascists had made the HQ for their group. As the armor neared, fire came from the structure which took out a few tanks. The infantry began to flank as the armor provided support to the advance on the city hall. The troops entered and began to engage the enemy forces within the structure, they could hear the leader telling the troops to resist the royalists and that victory was near as the troops neared the office. As the troops entered the offices, a shot was heard. The troops began to search for the cause and found the leader of the fascist dead of a gunshot; he had taken his own life. The body was removed from the building, as onlookers watched. One of the factions had fallen, now the Kingdom of Translyvanistan had to deal with the communists and anarchists.

Operation Fatherland
People's Republic of Transylvanistan

Now, the final targets were the provinces still under communist control from the new capitol in Petrovgrad. The plan was to have the 1st Corps attack from the west and the Royal Navy provides support for a landing by the 1st Naval Infantry Brigade in the east. Of course the Royal Air Force was to provide support to both operations. The Chief of Staff of the Royal Transylvanistani Armed Forces, General Marko Kupchenko gives the order for Operation Fatherland to begin. Minutes later, the air force began attacks on key targets within the communist territories, hitting airbases, army depots, air defenses, and naval bases. The 1st Corps’ artillery began to engage targets of its own, sounds of rockets and guns filled the air, one soldier later saying “it sounded like liberation.” The mechanized forces began to cross into the provinces. The attack was suspected by the communists, who had prepared by moving its most important units out of range of the artillery, but those units were hit by aircraft and they lose a number of them. Another problem was the elite units of the People’s Army were stationed in the capitol area, which now meant those nice new T-90s were leading 1st Corps assault against them. The 12th Tank Regiment was assigned to defend a bridge over the Lispk River, a key crossing for forces attacking the city of Peinkoffgrad. The communist tanks were engaged by elements of the 2nd Tank Regiment of the Royal Army. The T-72s and T-90s fought over the bridge, which ended in the 2nd crossing the bridge and allowing the 3rd Motor Rifle Regiment across to aid in the capture of the city. Elsewhere, the 1st Naval landed at a beach near Petrovgrad. The Air Force had knocked the People’s Navy in its attack, allowing the infantry to land without major problems. The Navy began taking out targets like large troop formations, and such. The 1st Naval had a unit of T-72s which lead the advance up the coast. The plan was to sever the city from the sea, and then push from the east while the 1st Corps pushes from the west surrounding the city.

In Petrovgard, Dimitri Aleksandrov, the former leader of the Transylvanistan Soviet Republic and now leader of the People’s Republic of Transylvanistan reads the reports from his commanders, the air force was taken out, and the few fighters in the air managed to score kills but they were defeated. He ordered that any retreat was an act of treason, and told his officers that they must hold at all cost. He and his officers believed the Kingdom would fall with a division led by the fascists, but when the fascists decided to instead declare a separate state, it allowed the Royalists to focus on uniting the nation. Now, he had to defend what lands he controlled from the same man, that as 20 year party member he helped coup. He was informed by an officer that a naval infantry had landed 20 miles from the city and were advancing along the coast. He ordered a tank division to engage the unit, and was informed that the unit had retreated after attacks by the naval forces. He decline to send a message for aid, he didn’t want to look weak to the world. He ordered the city to prepare defenses and give the order that all citizens were to fight, and any who didn’t would be shot as traitors.

Petrovgrad, Transylvanistan

The 1st Corps was in position for the final objective, the seizure of Petrovgrad and the end of the civil war. 1st Naval Brigade was also in position and when the forces were ready, they launched the attack from both sides. The 3rd Motor Rifle and 2nd Tank were one of the first into the city, where they were quickly engaged by enemy fire. The BMPs fired at enemy troops while the tanks engaged enemy strongholds and positions. The troops were to cover the armor as they drove down the streets of the city. The forces were on the alert for anti-armor weapons and MG positions. The sounds of helicopters filled the streets. The military decided to deploy Special Forces to prevent the communist leadership from escaping. The forces were to link up with the commandos at the government building. Lieutenant Vlasov was the commander of the 1st Special Service Regiment team that was tasked with the operation of capturing the leadership. Their helicopter flew over the ground forces advancing onto the target. The escort helicopters were clearing any resistance to the target. They arrived to the target and began to rope to the roof of the building. Vlasov checked his AK-105 and entered the structure with his team. Inside, they went down the stairs to the top floor where it was suspected the communist leader was. They were ordered to capture him alive for trial. They then entered a gun battle with the guards, then Aleksandrov ran out of an office and they chased him. They heard the sounds of heavy guns, the 1st Corps must be nearing the building, and they knew he was cornered. They turned a corner to see him with a pistol, they ordered him to drop it, and he dropped the pistol and surrendered. The news of the arrest was made, and they grabbed him and other members of the regime and went to the roof where they left with them to the capitol for trial. The 1st Corp arrived to the structure and began to clear it of anymore hostiles.

The 1st Naval Brigade was tasked with preventing an escape by sea, and capturing the port. They were fighting with communist elements at the port. It seems that the crews of the destroyed ships were part of a force of KGB troops, regular troops, and paramilitaries. News of the capture of Aleksandrov was broadcasted and the forces surrendered. Now, the nation was finally liberated of 46 years of hardship and tyranny and the monarchy was restored but one important news came in that was heartbreaking, Ruslan II, the King died of a heart attack, he lived to see the country liberated and his daughter, Larina was now to carry on and head the rebuilding of the nation.

News Broadcast from TNBA
Today, The Kingdom of Transylvanistan was reinstalled after a bloody civil war caused by the fall of the Soviet Republic. Royalist forces captured former General Secretary Dimitri Aleksandrov along with members of the communist government who are being tried for a series of crimes. The Communists who overthrew the government in 1965, had since engaged in crimes against the people and some cases against its own laws, one example being State companies allowed to be run by party officials without regulation. Elections have been announced and will be held soon. In sad news, King Ruslan II had died of heart attack, leaving Larina, the Crown Princess, as Queen Larina.

"dammit why didn't i find out about this sooner!" general Vladimir Dunchov yelled as he banged his fist onto his desk.
"I'm sorry that we could not get the information back sooner we will try to improve sir," Nathaniel Clover head of the Heningrad espionage agency replied.
"you better improve!" Dunchov yelled enraged "on your way out tell my secretary to schedule a meeting with the president we are going to declare war."

To: Ruslan II of transylvanistan
From: Comrade Vasorski of the USNN

The actions of you and your Royalists are un-acceptable. Unfortunatly we heard about this incident only an hour ago and it was to late to save the communists. The USNN would like to offer USNN citizenship to all remaining transylvanistan communists.

Ruslan the bloodthirsty, your actions have not gone un-noticed. Expect further action from the USNN in the comming weeks.

Why do you have 450 fighters of the same type? And can you afford all those planes I would assume you would have a fairly small air force due to your small size in regards of your nation.

News Broadcast from TNBA
Today after the first free elections in 46 years, the Liberals and Social Democrats won a victory. Khrystofor Kolesnitchenko, leader of the Liberals was named Prime Minister and Kaleria Bershadensky, of the Social Democrats as Deputy Prime Minister. The Communist Party, which was under new leadership won only 3% of the vote and one seat, many believed the small support was due to the actions of the Nationalists faction that seized the party in 1978. Queen Larina had also opened the parliament. The trial is set to begin soon, and is suspected of being a shocker.

CAN SOMEBODY MAKE A MAP WITH ALL BIG CITIES AND AIRPORTS,PLEASE?
IC
Zutendalian citisens could see squadrons of planes and helicopters flying over their houses on a regular basis. All squadrons here heading in the same direction:Transylvanistan.

in one of the helicopters,Lieutenant Mortimer was thinking over his invasionplan. If he lost,General Dimitrios would surely let his lungs be filled with burning oil, wich is the highest punishment in Zutendaal.

OOC: Considering that your going to land your forces in the airport and the size of the troops your deploying, don't you think it would be easier and cheaper to transport your troops in strategic carriers like Boeing military variants or something like that?

Your population is 120million ... I eat triple for brealfast.

Just because his population is only 6 million doesnt mean he cant defeat you, his small force may be extremly well trained and will have support of the local people, these means they can use guerilla warfare to destroy your force.

MiG-31Ms of the 2nd Air Defense Regiment engaged the enemy fighters and bombers using their attitude and long range missiles to their advantage, while 2 Fighter Regiments of MiG-21-98s fly in support. Also the 3rd Air Defense Missile Battalion with its S-400 SAMs attack the enemy helicopters. The 2nd Motor Rifle Division with the 1st Tank Division take up positions and engage the enemy units on the ground with artillery and cannon fire, as infantry advance.
