The war against Ucrumba

As the sun rose in the colonial camp in Ucrumba, the troops of the colonial guard woke up. For days they had been sailing with small beef rations. Now though, they were on land. They were waiting on the Elite members of the Black Guard (Ooc: uniforms, not skin colour) and the line infantry. Felbah still kept some of the old military procedures, like rank firing and marching in lines and uniforms that didn't camouflage. But still, Felbah had an efficient army, navy and air force, and the colonial guard scared the heck out of any enemies! They did use machine guns that looked like older guns, and bayonets featured highly in any regiment's kit-list. They were ready to fight!

In around 9 hours, they would march to defend the Ucrumban capital.

(OoC: This is a semi-open RP mate, you need to contact me or Free Tristania to join in. Your men can't be in his Capital already, you firstly need to RP them leaving, the trip to Ucrumba, then the reaction to your forces being allowed to enter by the Ucrumbian Government, then their arrival, then their march to the capital plus the arrival. Remember that for another RP, as I believe this one is too in-depth to add any more RPers at the moment, sorry.)

The Confederacy was growing tired of Ucrumba-a puny nation never before heard of in the country- interfering in its affairs. The annoyance of the Parliament was only magnified when an apparently confident Ucrumban message was relayed back to the government's offices. After personally reading, and growing infuriated by, the communique, Prime Minister David Blenchant decided that action needed to be taken - and fast. Leaving his house in a blur of frenzied packing and blinding cameras, the leader took his car down to the Naval Base, where he was due to meet with First Lord of the Admiralty, John Firth. He had already made up his mind, despite the fact that many politicians would use his decision to criticize him. He would give the order to invade Ucrumba. There would be no let-up, no mercy towards the brutal regime until it was removed from power and its ability to wage war rendered null and void. After dispensing a somewhat unorthodox series of commands to Admiral Firth, which involved a massive step up in the number of units deployed, he took his darkened car back down to the Parliament building, where he prepared for the hardest challenge he had faced thus far in office: declaring war upon another nation. He just wanted a quiet term in office... but he couldn't let sailors die. As the gaunt-faced Members of Government filed into the huge, stone room, he felt a twinge of nerves pass through his veins. Many of the men he now saw had been opposed to his election, and he loathed them with a passion. Liberalists. As the politicians finished walking in, two tall, muscular armed guards barred the thick steel doors. It gave Blechant the sense of imprisonment. Clearing his throat and taking a sip of cool water, he began to speak. "Ladies and gentlemen. I have called this emergency meeting to discuss the recent situation on and around the island nation of Ucrumba." A small wave of murmuring ran around the room, causing David to tap his hand sharply against the microphone to restore order. "Earlier today, my office received a telegram from their government. It appears that they believe they can muster a fleet strong enough to challenge our 200 vessel deployment." Large bursts of snorting echoed around the room. "As ridiculous as it may seem, we must regard any threat to the safety of our brave servicemen and women as a stark reality. As such, I have today visited the office of Admiral Firth. He, under my orders, has begun dispatching more warships to aid our ongoing blockade." He continued. "So if that's all, why is this an emergency meeting?" screeched a hag-faced woman from the back of the room. David closed his eyes and tried not to grow angry. He hated this woman. "Yes, Miss Thornton, I was getting to that. Now, since the message I read earlier today was from the Ucrumban government, we are inclined to believe that they are speaking the truth. There was another segment to this message, however. It stated that Alexiandran forces would be given one chance to lift the blockade, or face destruction. As comical as this seems and undoubtedly will be, I cannot let it go ignored." He took a deep breath, preparing for the most tense moment of his speech. "As such, I am authorizing a full military invasion of Ucrumba." Several shocked gasps erupted into the still air, followed by an uneasy silence. "We must finish this operation once and for all. No longer shall tyrants rule the island of Ucrumba - its people shall be free! To this end, the Royal Marine Corps are now mobilising and preparing for an all out war. Now, some of you may have concerns about our ability to land the troops while under the threat of enemy shore defences. Well, I have only one answer to that question - the Air-Force. Several flights of our F18 attack craft have already been fuelled, and are awaiting the launch signal. They will strike at enemy coastal defences, which will be pinpointed by our satellite surveillance network. We have already captured images of anti-ship missile launchers being camouflaged, and as such we now know their positions. Following our precision strikes by the F18s, SAM emplacements on our blockade fleet will cover their safe passage out of the enemy's airspace. Immediately after we have received a mission accomplished signal from our pilots, flights of large strategic bombers including the B2 will begin carpet bombing the island's shores, destroying pillboxes, anti-personnel equipment, and any missile launchers we may have missed during the first attacks. The troops, meanwhile, will have been moving in on their transports, escorted by Endeavour class warships. Armoured vehicles and tanks will be carried on separate ships, and will be unloaded simultaneously. By the end of the first week, we expect to have control of the entire island's coast." There were some excited whispers echoing around the room now. "We have decided to name this invasion "Operation Deep Sea". This name must not be elaborated on or defined in any press releases, to avoid exposure to the enemy. If you have any questions about the Operation, please contact either myself or General Valar." He gestured to a bearded, middle aged man sporting dozens of shining medals. He then proceeded to climb down from his podium and exit the room, his hands shaking from nerves.


HMS Redeemer, Three Hours After The Prime Minister's Speech To Parliament


The air was filled with the ear-splitting noise and dust of airplanes taking to the skies. Dozens of supersonic F18s with minor stealth capabilities accelerated away from their ship, pilots whooping jokingly. Before long, the craft were just dots in the sky to the hundreds of support staff who were responsible for their well-being. But the ship wasn't done yet. After the F18s linked up with similar flights from around the Alexiandran carrier groups, along with some Wild Weasel units to defeat enemy SAMs, the B2s would need to be ready. The massive jets were dragged out of the hangar in Carson Airfield and in other places, their fuel tanks prepared. They were fully loaded up with chaff and flares, and the bombs began arming for combat. As soon as the base received the launch signal, these planes had to be ready for flight. Meanwhile, the blockading vessels managed to intercept another five smuggling ships. After taking the crew onto the warships, the sailors blasted the cargo containers to pieces with their powerful main guns, shredding an entire business of narcotic and arms dealing. The Alexiandrans couldn't help but wonder if they were actually helping the Ucrumbans. This crime was obviously a problem, and they were acting as a police force against it. Nevertheless, the ships now had to prepare for the arrival of the F18s. After around two hours, they came streaking over the horizon, alerting the radar and air defence mechanisms of the fleet. After a brief conversation with the pilots, Admiral Hern Osk gave the order to begin a thorough activation of the fleet's defence systems. This was to stop enemy fighters and interceptors from bringing down the F18s as they left for home. As the Hornets closed in on their targets, there was only one thing on the minds of all those present...war.

A shapely-but-fit young woman with shoulder-length light red...actually orange...hair, slightly rosy cheeks, green eyes, and a burgundy tattoo of a pheonix on her nose looked out of the bridge windows of the battleship HMS Repulse. Kathleen Theodora Fawkes, former Commodore and now the holder of a field commission to Vice-Admiral, was also a member of the Imperial family and married to Commodore Hans Komnenos Langsdorff, also in the Royal Navy though not serving in her new task force. While she often had a cute, friendly air about her, she also had a persistent and tenacious spirit, which was part of how she was promoted through the ranks so quickly. Katie became Captain of the frigate HMS Kale years ago when her captain was killed in action, and rose rapidly through the ranks ever since.

"Admiral," her First Officer said, now advanced to Acting Captain of the ship. She turned around to face her. "Yes, Tethys," she said. "What is it?"

"We are nearing the rendezvous point with the Confederate Navy, ma'am."

"Very good, Captain. Get me in touch with Admiral Osk. Find out if he has a compatible viewscreen system to ours; if not, just put him on audio. I'll remain here on the bridge."

"Aye aye, Admiral." Captain Tethys then ordered the communications officer to hail Admiral Osk so that Admiral Fawkes could establish contact and prepare to receive direction from the Alexiandran Grand Admiral.

Outside the ship, it was a gloriously beautiful day at sea. The grand, imposing flagship, Repulse, had the appearance of a traditional ship of the line, proudly bearing down upon the enemy, while the trimaran stealth battlecruiser following in her wake looked like something out of a science fiction film. All around these two capital warships were smaller cruisers, destroyers, and frigates, and further behind sailed the aircraft carriers Halberdier and Sea Serpent, with their flight crews ready for action in the skies. Indeed, a few jet aircraft patrolled the space above the fleet, and helicopters kept a careful eye out for submarines, as they moved closer to the Alexiandran blockade zone, and war.

All three of the RP's i'm involved with are dying for various reasons, and the best RP is up in the air because it appears that two of the main characters were deleted due to some kind of stupid misunderstanding...though I don't know enough about the situation to fully say. Rather than have this RP just die, perhaps we could get together and roleplay some kind of abridged end to this war? I don't care who wins or loses as long as we don't have another loose end RP...getting so very tired of those that I don't know how much more of it I can take and still find it worth investing any more effort into NS.

I'd be very much for what you say, choosing who would of won the war in these battles [it's kind of obvious which side had the larger military hardware on all fronts, sorry Ucrumba, but you just wouldn't of have won against so many bigger Nations] would not actually be that hard.)
