Sophia was a little surprised at the suddenness of the question, while the inter-monarchical alliance that her own Kingdom and Fonteveille were members of was important to herself, she had not expected to be questioned on it during this occasion. Indeed, it took her a few minutes to recall the exact going ons of the Commonwealth Council and its current issues.

"Agreeable your Royal Highness, we have spoken to Anne - that is the Lord High Commissioner - I believe yesterday over its progress, we will be most interested over what the committee for Constitutional Amendment shall produce, as well as the forthcoming Parliament Address the Lord High Commissioner shall deliver to the Astralsiderian Parliament."

Sensing that he'd either caught the Queen off guard or had struck a chord, the Prince excused himself from the table. He began wandering around the room until he caught sight of an obviously angry and somewhat drunken man. The Prince, the most curious of the three royal brothers and always in a mood for good gossip, decided to try and ascertain why this guest was so upset. He approached the man and said,

"Hello, I'm Tommaso, Prince of Oristano. How do you do?"

Pilot:"Sir the tower isn't responding, we have to make a landing at the public airport 2 KM south of here, is that alright?"

"Its fine, just make sure we have some sort of veicheal transport

Guard's Captain:"Sir we've aranged for an armoured limo"

"Contact the palace, tell them I'll be there in 15 minutes."

In the Limo

Then a maid cleaned it up.

Maid:"It's alright Grand Chancelliour I'll get you another, besides you were almost finished anyways."

In the corner of his eye the Chancelliour had cought a glimspe of king-to-be and felt like introducing himself

As he aproached the king-to-be he saw three men talking and gosiping, he didn't feel like inturupting so he politly nodded at the prince and listened to the coversation.
Once they were done talking the Chancelliour began:
Hello, your majesty, I am Grande chancelliour Duke of the Empire of Dukopolious, I'm pleased to meet you

He then extended his hand and shook hands with the prince. His ettiquite advisor was standing behind the prince gestering a "Bow motion" so then the Chancelliour understood. He then  'd and walked back to his table as the corination began.

Edward stood alone, his fury simmering as he took another glass of champagne, only acting as a buffer to his inflamed emotions. His mask lay alone at the floor, his clothes notably dishevelled, but that did not deter the Prince any. However, this solitary activity was soon interrupted by a culture voice;

"Hello, I'm Tommaso, Prince of Oristano. How do you do?"

Edward turned to face the man, annoyed at having been disturbed, as it was considered rude to approach an distressed figure in Izzyerian Court, "Me? 'is Royal Highness, Edward, Duke of Herni'ton and husband of 'Er Majesty over there, what do you want?"

The two Genovian royals entered the ballroom with their costumes. They both decided not to bother their majesties of Fonteveille with yet another introduction.

"James...I can't say I know any of these people. Actually, before a week ago, I had never heard of Fonteveille itself. What are we doing here?" whispered the archduchess to her nephew.

"We're trying to meet someone that could possibly become a strong and close ally one day. We're just opening our horizons," James replied. The two took a few steps into the crowd. Some were dancing, some were talking, and others were drinking in excess. James turned to his aunt, "I'm going to get a drink. I don't have to advise you what to do, you've been to balls are the palace before." He smiles.

She returns her glance, but her was more of an 'older wisdom' look, "That drinking will get the best of you if you don't watch it." He shrugged her off and walked away without answering her. He sat down at an empty table and ordered a small glass of cognac from a waiter passing by. James crossed his legs and got into a more relaxed position and looked around the room. He noticed a couple in a bright gold costumes sitting with another person in a costume that he didn't particularly take in too much. He laughed as he remembered what he was wearing. He looking ridiculous, but he was determined to show respect. As the three persons next to him continued to talk, he overheard the voices of the couple adorned in gold. 'The sovereigns,' he thought to himself. He turned to look, but their masks hid their faces. His eyes caught the man whom he suspected was the newly coronation king of Fonteveille, but wasn't sure. He nodded to the man as a simple greeting, and took a sip of the cognac that was recently placed before him.

The Prince's assumptions were proved correct, angry and drunk, the perfect combination for easy agitation. The Prince, incurably puckish, was hoping to be able to rile the Duke, and get some exciting reaction.

"It's my pleasure your Royal Highness. I wanted to welcome you personally to Fonteveille, and inquire if you are enjoying the party. I see you've at least been enjoying the bar."

The chancelliour walked out bowing infront of the new king. Then offering him some fine wine.

"The best of Dukopolious sent for you majesty." said the chancelliour. He was holding the bottle and when he handed it over he bowed once again. Then started a conversation.

"As the new leader how would you feel about trade between our nations?" the chancelliour started.

Edward's eyes narrowed, through the haze that had enveloped his mind he detected the insinuation the Fontégasque Prince was making, unbidden a flare of irritation rose within, causing the Duke to grit his teeth in frustration.

"Perhaps the Fontégasque people should question their ability to throw a celebration," he retorted angrily, "If their guests require the use of their bar so urgently?"

Now it was Prince Tommaso's turn to be angry. An insult to His Majesty's subjects was an insult to His Majesty, the Prince's brother, and the two were very close.

"You dare insult the honor of my countrymen? I should be questioning the responsibility of Queen Sophia, if she allows her subjects to drunkenly rage around in public, much less the coronation of a Sovereign." said the Prince scornfully.

Edward's face twisted into a scowl, his fists clenched at young mans words, his head befuddled by the intoxication of alcohol, the mention of his wife caused a double wave of anger to rise within him, one at the insult of the Queen, the other at Sophia's harsh words that morning.

Suddenly it was if time had slowed, and he was watching from afar. His fist flew up, curving gracefully towards the Prince's temples, before finally hitting its mark. Prince Edward had been a boxing champion at Fentons School for Young Gentlemen, an establishment famed for its clientèle of rich, young brutes. It was a punch that carried some force indeed.

It so happened that Edward's punch landed right after the orchestra finished a song. Thus, the sound of his fist colliding with the Prince of Oristano's skull was easily heard as far away as the table at which Queen Sophia and King Alexandre sat. Prince Tommaso, relatively soft from his royal life and the normal Fontégasque aversion to physical violence, was immediately knocked unconscious by the punch, and hit the ground with a thud. King Alexandre jumped up as soon as he heard the punch and pushed his way through the crowd to his brother. Seeing it was Tommaso he grew enraged, Tommaso was the youngest of the three royal brothers and the King felt very protective of him.

"Guards! Call for an ambulance, and remove this man, I want him held in his apartments here at the Palace." said the King pointing at Edward.

With several cries of "Yes your Majesty!", the Royal Guard roughly removed the Prince Consort and followed the orders. The King called the Captain of the Royal Guard to him.

"I want you to call the Polizia di Stato, have them get an arrest warrant for assault, lèse majesté, and whatever else they think he's guilty of. Have him arrested as soon as they have that warrant."

Soon paramedics arrived, by that time Prince Tommaso had revived somewhat. He was cleared by the paramedics, and retired to his apartment to rest. Crisis handled, mostly, the King turned to Queen Sophia.

"Your Majesty, I hope you know that I must hold him here temporarily at least."

Queen Sophia eyes widened at the scene before her, causing her to release a shout when Edward was taken by the Royal Guards. Sophia turned to King Alexandre as he asked for the drafting of a arrest warrant, her eyes burning with contempt, "It seems that the Fontégasque have very peculiar customs of hospitality it seems, perhaps it would have been prudent for me to have consulted my ministers, however I believed we were among friends. A false assumption, clearly.

However, once he had stated that her husband was to be held in Fonteveille, her contempt flared into anger. A familiar rebellious streak rushed through Sophia, tempted to refuse the request of the new King of Fonteveille. However the youthful inclination faded when the wisdom of age took over, she knew she was in no position to make demands, and there was always the watchful eyes of the Imperial Commonwealth to consider.

"If your Majesty so desires, he may old my Consort at his Palace," her eyes glittered angrily for a moment, "However should His Royal Highness the Duke of Hernington face the indignity of prison, The Queen will reconsider her cooperation."

Sophia hands reached inside her bag, searching for her phone, she had a few important calls to make, already her mind was whirring with different possibilities. However her searching hands brushed against something cold and familiar, causing a half smile to appear upon her lips.

"Your Majesty" she said, dropping the object onto his hands, revealing the gold ring she that has caused the entire argument that morning.

"Vivat Rex, Long Live the King, wise words indeed." she hissed coldly, before turning on her heels and storming away.

The King was slightly surprised at Queen Sophia's anger, it was her Prince Consort that had assaulted his brother. Nevertheless he was glad she had consented to the proceedings, regardless that her consent was not really required in this instance.

"Thank you your Majesty, I hope you understand there's nothing I can do, it's the law.", he called after her, and then he then retired to his own apartments, he needed to think. When he reached his apartments he drafted a note to Queen Sophia and had it sent to her, as they would undoubtedly be on their way to the local court soon.

Your Majesty,

I would like to apologize for any inconvenience or upset this causes you. However, this is the law and I have no power to stop the wheels of justice. However, I will arrange to have the Duke held here at the Royal Palace, rather than at the prison. He has been indicted on several charges. His arraignment will be carried out by the Polizia di Stato which are currently on their way to your rooms. He will be arrested, I have arranged for his bail hearing to be had at once, I have been in contact with the judge and he has informed me that barring any new evidence he will deny bail due to flight risk. However as previously stated he will be held here at the Royal Palace, where you will also be welcome. After the bail hearing he will be sent back here, his trial will be in a few days unless we come to some agreement. I would like for you to join me for a talk in the morning if it pleases your Majesty.

Yours,
Alexandre I

About fifteen minutes later several Polizia di Stato arrived and asked to see His Majesty. As this was a crime concerning the Royal Family, the arrest warrant had been gotten in minutes. The Captain asked King Alexandre,

"Your Majesty we are prepared to arrest the Izzyerian, will you direct us to his room?"

The King gave the Polizia the whereabouts of the Izzyerian delegations quarters and they quickly set off. Soon they had made their way through the Palace to the specified room. The Captain rapped on the door.

"In the name of His Majesty King Alexandre, I come to arrest His Royal Highness the Duke of Hernington. For crimes including assault, public drunkenness, lèse majesté, and disturbing His Majesty's peace. His Royal Highness will present himself at once."

Edward groaned, his head ached from the concoction of pills he had been ordered to take by the Physician Royal, in order to speed the process of sobriety. However they had the rather unpleasant effect of nausea and head aches, something that was not aided by his wife.

Sophia was pacing in the room, her hand had a crushed copy of the letter she had received from the King, muttering to herself. "Ridiculous . . . Bail, bah, what nonsense . . . Cannot even grant a Royal Pardon . . ."

They had been in discussion with the Minister for Justice, Judith Shylock, who had informed her that a direct attack on the Sovereign or his kin could be considered grounds for removal of diplomatic immunity, which had not been formally granted anyway. (OOC: Will remove if Considered God-Modding)

She had advised the Queen, in her typically frank matter, to be cooperative, and that she was going to contact the Lord High Commissioner of the ICLC, to see if an arrangement could be made.

Indeed Sophia had scribbled a reply to the King, written on the back of his own letter.

His Majesty King Alexandre of Fonteveille,

We, having discussed several possibilities with our ministers, conclude that it may be prudent to contact the ICLC over this matter, too see if neural arbitration could be arranged. I seriously doubt the impassiveness of either of our Courts in this matter.

Yours,

Sophia R

Sophia, Queen of Izzyshipper and Sophianna, Lady of Strath, Duchess of Hernington, etc.

There was a sudden knock at the door, and after the announcement was made Edward could see Sophia's eyes narrow, causing him to raise a hand. Giving his wife a small crooked smile, he walked out the room to meet his fate.

As the Duke exited the room the Polizia made way for him. The Captain addressed him.

"Your Royal Highness, thank you for being cooperative. As such I see no reason to handcuff you. If you'll follow us we'll be on our way."

The group of Polizia surrounded the Duke as they exited the Royal Palace and entered the police cars. After a short drive the cavalcade reached the local courthouse. The group exited the vehicles and made their way to the courtroom prepared for them. In the court room three black-robed and bewigged judges were already present, and obviously annoyed at being requested so late. The center and lead judge addressed the Duke as he was seated.

"Your Royal Highness, you have been charged with assault, public drunkenness, lèse majesté, and disturbing His Majesty's peace. After reviewing the severity of these crimes, and noting that you are a foreign national with the means and motives to escape justice by leaving Fonteveille, we have concluded that you shall be held without bail. It is his Majesty's wish however, which we have seen fit to grant, that you be held at the Royal Palace. Also at his Majesty's request, we shall not process you as we would a normal accused person. You are to return to the Royal Palace at once, and not to leave there but by his Majesty's or the Court's express permission."

The Duke was then brought back to the Royal Palace and to his rooms. The entire affair took not more than forty-five minutes.

Simultaneously, the King had been drafting a response to Queen Sophia.

Her Majesty Queen Sophia of Izzyshipper,

We agree with your suggestion. We would be willing to hand this case over to the ICM.

Yours,
Alexandre, King of Fonteveille, Jerusalem, and Cyprus, Duke of Savoy, etc. etc.

The Genovian Security Service, had quickly grabbed both the king and the archduchess and rushed them from the room with their heads being pushed down and their sidearms drawn. They all ran outside where a car squealed to a stop at the same time they exited the front door. Being thrown in the car, the king and archduchess was escorted away from the palace in car that flashed with blue lights and a wailing siren. Two SUV's of the GSS followed after them. Soon enough, they reached the airport, were ordered to board their plane, and flew away, back to their homeland.

Aralindë, Crown Princess of Ylamoria, had quite enjoyed the strange party where people where dressed in colorful robes and somewhat scary masks. The young princess had keept her mother on her toes throughout the entire event running through the reception hall colliding with several different people in the process, eager to take all the new impressions in. Having observed the struggle between two big mask clad men from beneath a table where she had been hidding from her mother the young princess was however visibly shaken by the violence and arguement. Walking around the hall she started to slowly cry feeling very sorry for herself and wanting her mother. Walking towards the first the best female guest she could find the young princess pulled in the robes of the woman and said. "I want my mother."

Alys, who had quite enjoyed the whole ceremoniality with the exception of the christian prayers, had been shocked and dismayed at the row between the two princes. Such a thing would have been unthinkable in her own country for the reason that if it occured it would result in the dead of at least one of the involved, Alcedina honor codexes decreed it so. It was a strong confirmation of the young princess's belief in the hive mind mentality of her own house where all thoughts was approved from above. After all if a diplomatic crisis occured from this event then did that not justify the abolition of free will among junior princess? "What an interesting party." The young princess whispered to Armina in valarin.

Princess-Regent Armina nodded concerned about what had transpired at the coronation. With a marrital alliance between the House of Maddox and her own house, honor would dictate that the Alcedina's should join in a war against the House of Savoy-Lusignan. And honor was everything. Watching as the genovian royalty fled the scene of the crime with an almost laughable speed Armina nodded again. "Most interesting cousin. It would appear that the mood has changed considerably though, and not for the better." Alys nodded. "Should we take home?" She asked ready to grap her daughter and leave before things grew bad.

For a moment Armina considered it but then she shook her head in anger. She was not going to leave returning home from a disastrous event. As long as there where wine and music no Alcedina would retreat. Not on her watch. Grapping a glass of champagne the Princess-Regent moved into the center of the reception hall gently banging a fork on her glass untill she had the attention of most of those guests had not already left. "What a party." The princess said loudly. "One cannot complain about king Alexandre I mixing water with his wine." The princess paused for a moment to give room for laughter. "Now this affair comes at a most unwanted time as I was just in the mood for dancing. Luckily I have no doubt that this issue will soon enough be resolved, but in the mean time we are celebrating the coronation of the very first king of Fonteveille. Now is no time for bad mood. Not while there is wine in the cellars and presents to be given."

Raising her glass towards the crowds looking at her the young Princess-Regent shouted. "Long Live Alexandre Primus, Rex Fonteveille." Emptying half of her glass the Princess-Regent gave her glass to the waiter and gestured to the orchestra. "Music please." She said before extending her arm for a dance partner to appear.
