Government overthrown by rioters in Astholm [IC, MT, OPEN]

HIS MORNING, ASTHOLM'S GOVERNMENT was overthrown dramatically at 10:38am by rioters who were protesting at the government.
The protests had been going for the past 24 hours, and resulted in the Prime Minister's house, at 10 Parliament Way, being damaged, with the house getting $500,000 worth of damage by the protestors.

Police could not contain the rioters, despite the best attempts of riot police, a police helicopter and police dogs. Even extra police officers failed to stop them, and some corrupt officers were siding with the rioters. The house was looted, and everything was damaged - food stolen, clocks smashed, the Prime Minister's bed stolen by a pair of determined thieves, female thieves stealing his wife's clothes, his television was stolen... too much detail to list, but the situation isn't looking good.

It cannot come at a worse time for the nation, with the global economic crisis, an independence movement seeking for Kelhamcombe & Whitmondsey to secede from Astholm, and general unpopularity of the Prime Minister Martin Goldsbrough for wasteful spending on personal indulgence, and his replacement Paul Brookes was seen as dull, and although capable of carrying out his promises, people couldn't trust him.

Now there is concern for the future of the nation and its territories; the international community should help Astholm get back on its feet.

Nonetheless, industry is doing well, but the country is not out of recession yet, no country is (yet) but how do you solve the Astholmian issue?

Rioting is still going on - shop windows in London-y-Balne are being damaged, and police are trying to contain the rioters.

Paul Brookes sat down in his office; the one part the rioters hadn't got to. Well, his second office actually, which was far obscurer than the one used for the rare national broadcasts.
He typed out an email, which was sent to Supreme Chancellor Yanukoych of Mahdah. It read:

FROM: Paul Brookes, Prime Minister, Astholm
TO: Supreme Chancellor Yanukoych, Mahdah

Dear Sir,
thank you for sending me this message. The situation is DEFCON 2 here, and we need international help, and an international conference to deal with this.

It Read:

Well i dont know if i can get other nation involved, Im not on good terms with some, If needed i can increase the number of Riot Police and send in Peace Keepers.

A.P.T.U. agents are being sent via Chinooks to pacify the situation,armored APC are also being deployed.
Nationalists are the scourge of diplomacy,their control of the country could cause several conflicts in the region,but we think a more active government should be appointed

Like Agritum, the Commonwealth of Norvenia would like a fuller understanding of the causes of the rioting before it commits to any action. It would also like to caution the government of Astholm against being to eager too accept foreign aid, especially military aid and especially from certain parties. Foreign troops are like bad guests; it is far easier to invite them in than it is to get them to leave. You may find yourselves with a far greater problem than rioting on your hands.

However, if information on the causes of the rioting is forthcoming, the government of Norvenia is willing to provide impartial mediation between the government of Astholm and whatever governing authority the rioters may have produced.
