Most of the crew of the S.M.S Franz I was asleep in their bunks, sleeping away the wee hours of the morning away. All but Midshipman Jorgen Klauf, who was on lookout duty. He sighed. 2:00 am in the morning and he was on lookout. The S.M.S. Franz I had been sent off by His Majesty's Imperial and Royal Navy to search out for unclaimed land in the farthest reaches of the earth. Nearly a month at sea and they had not seen a speck of land. Jorgen took out his night-vision telescope and searched out the horizon. He stopped. One area of the sky seemed to block the stars. Jorgen knit his brows together. The sea was calm- he should be able to see for miles. This area was only maybe 3 nauts away. Nearly falling over himself, he rushed over to the alarm, cranking it quickly, causing an amazing ruckus.
The other crewman rushed out of their bunks, trying to slide on their uniforms. The ship's captain rushed up to Jorgen."Midshipman Klauf, what is the meaing of this?!" Captain von Trapp berrated the young man. Hurriedly, Jorgen stuck out his hand in the direction of the spotted land. He shouted at the top of his lungs:"Landen Ahoi!"
When dawn broke, the excited crew organized a landing party. Jorgen himself was chosen, along with fellow crewmembers Alois Sturmfreid, Maximilian Suisten, Domokos Maryosz, and Edvard Mastoszy. They loaded onto a small landing boat, carrying weapons and some supplies to deal with hostile natives.
About twenty minutes later, the group had pierced deep into the jungle of the new continent. Domokos stopped."You hear that?" the man asked."What?" Alois asked. A short moment later, a stone-headed arrow smashed into Alois's helmet."Ahgh!" he shouted. The other men raised their MP40's. There was another rustle. A native leaped from the brush, slamming a stone axe into the helmet of Edvard. Regaining their senses, the other men fired their weapons, killing the man in an instant."Dumkopf," Maximilian insulted the native.
However, more natives lept from the brush. The men dealt with them effectively, and the battle was a one-sided victory. Returning to the ship, a larger force came upon a native village. After a short fight, the village was taken.
The new land, a week later:
A week later, Jorgen had become an overseer to keep the natives in control. The scholars on board the Franz I had been able to decode some of the native's language. They called the land Endturr, which they had best romanized as Endör, pronounced 'End-air.' the crew and natives had built a small village, which they plainly named Endörstadt, or 'Endör city.'
At the same time, reconaissance planes searched the area to make a map. They found that the continent was very large, at least the size of Africa.
Vienna, Osterreich:
Once Kaiser Otto II heard of the land fall, he immediately advertised for colonists and sent out a message to the international community to send out for other countries. He immediately got nearly 300 skilled men and women to send to Endör.
Meanwhile, he sent the following message to the international community:
To the nations of the world:
A new continent has been discovered by the Osterreichisch-Magyar Navy on approximately April 27th. The Continent is vast, untamed wilderness. Early reporst from the landing parties have shown that exotic spices, silks, precious metals, precious gems, oil and coal have been found. The huge continent is open to foreign colonization. However, we must warn that natives are extremely Violent. The continent has been named after the native's name for it: Endör, also romanized as Endoer or Endore. The map of the continent is enclosed:
