I'm on the fence. I know that everyone should have the benefit of the doubt, but the grammar in UWO's post was, well, atrocious. I hate to be a grammar Nazi, but to be honest a good RPer needs be a good writer too. I'll hold off from voting and see what the others think before making a final decision.

My reasoning: 1. He's on the IRC, unlike some of you *looks around*. 2. He's in a place where he can either a) improve very quickly or b) crash and burn. I think, with the right help *looks around* he can become one of the better 2011 rpers. 3. For trawls.

II. What are the strengths and weaknesses of your nation?
While we are home to many strengths we also face some weaknesses. Our civil rights is further decreasing, due to a corrupt body of representatives that feed propaganda into the citizens minds, without actually solving anything. However, a new social order has arisen, and right now they seem to solve all of the UCRP's basic problems. Our strengths are what we hold dear. We are experts at solving problems, and we have grown rich off of the numerous oil plants that line around the Hyponot Bay.

III. Why do you think you will be a good fit in Judea? (What qualities of yours will make you an excellent addition to Judea?)
I believe that in joining Judea, I will hopefully be able to solve most of NS's basic problems with the help of some good friends and allies I will hopefully make in the region. Also, I am excellent at finding resolutions to problems, and I believe that my assets may benefit the region as a whole.

IV. Why do you want to join Judea?
I wanted to get more involved in a region, and I want my voice to be heard, and not ignored like all of the other big regions within NS. Also, this region looks incredibly successfull and it seems you operate with very little corruption. I would love to join.

V. What are your relationships with current members of this region?
Currently, I do not know of having any previous relationships with any nation apart in Judea.

After reading through the application, I have to give UWO's application a Nay. There is an abundant series of grammar issues in his RPs. Although having him "join" Judea and learning from the veterans of RP is a way, yes, for him to improve his RPing skills, the same can be done by simply stopping by our IRC, while not necessarily joining the region itself. Judea is a region that is built on OoC and RP. Though OoC is a dominant factor, RP is also one as well. If we ignore one for the other, than there will not be a balance of great RPers and great people in general. Joining a region does not improve RPing skills. Hard-work does. If/whenever he stops by our IRC, we shall be more than happy to help him better his RPing standards. However, before that, I will encourage UWO to find the ways and means to improve his RP before attempting to join once more.

On another note, I think this would've been the right time to use the Abstain/Prospect voting option. How wrong we were to abandon you oh great and mighty Prospect/Abstain D:.

Definitely agreed. When I said Nay, I didn't mean anything personal by it, just that UWO's grammar and writing skills in general need work. It's not an insult, it's a friendly tip. I've spouted this story a million times before, but for a while after I joined I was a god awful writer. It took the help of a great RPer (on F7 of all places (in fact IM will more than likely recall, as he had taken part in the same RP)) to really show me the err in my ways, and taught me by example how to really write. Furthermore, because of those experiences, and the recent initiatives taken on II in general, I believe that creating a whole new classification of membership may be in order, Junior Membership. A Junior Member State would ICly be a state which, whilst not physically in the region of Judea, would be both economically and militarily linked to the region. OOCly the person would be almost akin to an intern or an onsite learner, learning the basics of RPing from the Judean region as a whole through participation in regional RP's and tutoring from our best members. Being a Junior Member State would not by any means bar the nation from joining Judea, but instead would be a stepping stone on the path to joining the region. If we were to create a position like that, I would have no objection to UWO or any other inexperienced nation that may pop up in the future from joining.
