Quick question as to the godmodding section: in real life, a country wouldn't ask for permission. They'd nuke the crap out of 'em regardless whether or not it was wanted. Shouldn't your given example be allowed to keep it realistic? After all, who would let themselves be nuked?

He means ask oocly as Milo said. But in real life, the offending nation would get nuked to hell, gassed with biological and chemical poisons of all kinds and generally pissed on and regarded forever more as "evil". So, nuking and just general nation affairs in RL and on NS is different and realism, although nice, is not something to be overly preoccupied with.

A few general questions

Postby Alyce D » Wed Sep 14, 2011 12:42 pm

I hope people still read this post. I apologize for any typos first offf... I dont really know how to use this ipad that i am on. Just curious about creating my own nation and personality. I have never played a rp game in my life because I never have really been an Internet savvy individual. I am trying to read and learn from all these wildly helpful articles in order to get started but need a bit more direction. I am not sure if there is an article outlining specific aspects to consider when creating my own nations characteristics or other aspects that a newbie or whatever you want to call me may never consider. Basically my plan thus far is to continue reading the rules, writing about my own nation in private as if it were a real entity, and making adjustments as needed. Perhaps there is a role playing thread that is particularly exemplary of what an ideal game should include? Basically I am entirely new to all of this but very impressed with this site in general. I never would have dreamed a community like this existed. Other questions I have are regarding mentors and trainers... Do i really need one if I keep utilizing all of these articled? Lastly, are there any particular character styles, as a newcomer, that would immediately make me a pariah?

Yes, it is very helpful to me. It also helps you see where people are coming from when they do some annoying stuff on the forums.

On the matter of bumping, what if that's all you have to say! Just one line.
