Marina shifted her weight uncomfortably and looked out at the sea of unfamiliar faces. She and Adolph were standing off to the side of the front podium, listening to Rachel's voice shake with emotion as she spoke about her father. Marina glanced over at her companion who gave her a a nod and a small smile of encouragement. Returning the smile briefly, she knew that Adolph would present himself as the charming man Apaniians loved him for.

She turned her gaze back to the podium as Rachel's voice trailed off and she sniffed hard before stepping down and taking her seat in the front row. She brushed off some invisible lint from her simple black dress and straightened her shoulders as she was announced by an attendee.

"Prince Adolph Issapóómahksika Crowfoot and President Marina Awo'taanitsi Medicine Shield of the Queendom of Apanii."

She watched in brief horror as the usher mispronounced their Blackfoot names and her eyes flew over to Adolph. There was a nearly visible wince on his face, but he kept his word to her and did not correct the usher. They walked over to the podium and Marina took her place behind it's smooth wooden surface.

"Apanii did not know Adam Santers as we would have liked." She began. All of her previous nervousness drained from her as she spoke. "His great deeds and love of his people reached us and touched our hearts just the same. It is through this great love...love for his country, love for his citizens, love for his friends and allies and love for his family that we are able to be here today. We have a tradition in my country...one honoring great warriors and leaders. Adam Santers was a warrior of spirit, admired by Apaniians perhaps without knowing it and that was what made him great to us.

His humble manner, even hand and clear devotion to his family struck a chord deep within our hearts and though we never met in person, it is always a sad occasion when a warrior's spirit is called away from this physical existence. I know in my heart that his ideals and deeds will live on through each and every one of us, those whose lives he touched...and especially in the lives of the people that knew him best." She nodded to Adolph who unfolded the funerary blanket and held it up so the assembly could inspect it.

"Your Majesty," she started again after a moment's pause. "Queen Rachel Santers, Democratic Queen of Epicnopolis...there is nothing I can say that would be a balm to the pain you feel now. Nothing but time and love can heal your grief and looking around this room, I can see that you have plenty of love...from the people of Epicnopolis and the people who have grown to be friends and allies with your family. This blanket is a tradition in our country; to depict a person as a traditional warrior is to place upon them the highest laudatory praise in death. In honor of the works and deeds your father has accomplished, we present you with this blanket. Her Royal Majesty, Queen Sarai regrets that she cannot be here with you in your time of need, but she has sent me with a gift to give to you from her." She turned her eyes away from Rachel and glanced over the congregated people in front of her.

"Apaniians were once what people called Indigenous Americans. Our names are as important to us as the air we breathe, our names give us a purpose, an identity and a connection to our ancestors. Adam Santers deserves to be remembered in this way and that is why Queen Sarai has gifted him a Blackfoot name. Otapi'sipiikomimm. It means, "The People Love Him" and standing here in front of all of you, I can see that's more true than he may have ever known." She nodded again at Adolph who carefully folded the flag and presented it to Rachel, bowing his head slightly before her as Marina stepped out from behind the podium.

As the President of Apanii stepped down and took a seat, President Jimmy Wales looked up at Rachel with tears streaming down her face. The usher then called out "President Jimmy Wales of the Republic of Wikipedia and Universe". Wales swallowed hard and approached the stand. After taking the podium, Wales addressed the audience. "I never had the privilege of knowing Mr. Santers personally, in fact, I only heard of him upon his passing, but upon hearing of this, I found out more about him, and his legacy has inspired me. To say that his death was both untimely and unfortunate is more than an understatement. His place in the hearts of the Epicnopolian people should be an inspiration to any good leader. I believe that he should be known not only for his political achievements, but also his passion for both his people and his family. I want Queen Santers and her people to know that you have the full support of Wikipedia and Universe in this difficult time, and at this time we would like to present Rachel Santers with a gift from the people of Wikipedia and Universe." Wales nods to a member of his security standing in a doorway. The guard then makes a gesture to an unseen member of the entourage in the front hallway of the funeral home. A guard then walks in with a golden retriever on a leash. (The dog is well trained to be around people and sits down and remains silent.) "Queen Santers, from what I hear you are very fond of dogs. So we hereby present you with this three year old golden retriever. The dog, known for its loyalty, is considered by many to be man's best friend. Although this dog is intended to be a pet and not a mascot, we hope it will come to be a symbol of the continued friendship between our two nations. Our people hope the best for Santers and her people, and we want you to know that you are surrounded by very supportive company. Thank you." Wales steps down from the podium. As he is about to take his seat, an adviser approaches him. "Mr. President, we have just received some reports and I think you need to check this out." After exchanging a few whispered words, Wales, the adviser, and some security personnel step exit the funeral home, leaving the extremely well-behaved dog with the other guard.

As the plane landed, Marcus said, "First this thing makes me sick, then it makes me late."

"Thank you for flying with us prime minister, we wish you the best of luck and good day." a voice came over the ntercom as the flight attendant opened he door.

As Marcus stepped off the plane, he looked at the large froup of photographers and jpurnalists.As he got to the ground, hewas assailed by questions from everywhere.

"Mr. Prime Minister! How is the President handling Adam Santers dying?" one reporter asked. "Will Epicnopolis send troops to Lizardiar to help?" asked another.

Before they could ask another, Marcus said as he walked by, "No more questions." He then climbed into a waiting car to escort him to the funeral. As he arrived, he got angry as saw more reporters crowding the door. As his car stopped and he got out, the reporters rushed to where he was. Before the could ask anything Marcus yelled , "Leave you vultures! This is a funeral, not some concert!" Some of the reporters began to make a response as Marcus left them nd walked into the funeral.

Marcus saw Rachel and walked over to her and said, "I'm sorry for this. Kageki always said that it would be him that goes first, not Sanders. Did they find how he died?"

Napoleon stopped Marcus from completing his question, "this is neither the time nor place to discuss these matters let her grieve and mourn before you sadden her more."

President Wales comes back into the funeral home and quietly walks up to General Alex Castin. (Whispered) "General, I fully understand that you are in mourning, and I am very sorry to interrupt, but could you please step outside with us? This is an urgent international matter."

Alex frowned, he looked at Rachel. Who was being tended to by Marcus and Napolean. He walked outside with the President. "I trust your judgement." He said. "If you say it's important, than it is. So...What exactly is it?"

Marcus got out of his seat and stepped up to the podium. He looked at Rachel as he began, "Adam was a friend. He was a hero. He was great man, one that we would all aspire to be like. He always told me that to be strong was to push forward, even when things seem lost. That is what we must do here today. Push forward to see the bright future ahead." Marcus paused as he laughd a little, "You know, I always thought that Adam would be standing here, at my funeral. Saying words to people that he doesn't really know. Watching as my children cried, trying to help them remember the good times. And if that happened, I knew that he would have made them laugh, made them happy. Me though. I don't have his abilities to see through the dark times always. I don't have his abilities to make jokes when anyone else that would have made them would have been shunned, but not him. He was just that kind of person, he was a natural leader. I think that is a reason he was my friend. We were so different."

Marcus looked at Rachel and continued, "Today. I see a great leader dead, and another living and leading with great courage. I see a girl, becoming a woman. I see that same ability to lead throught he darkness in her eyes. Rachel, your father is watching over you. And he is approving of your choices." Marcus finished as he then said and went to his seat, "Thank you."
