It has nothing to do with the Germany's past, more to do with, on the economic side of things, the fact that Germany IS the key player because Germany is the single biggest economy in Europe and the fact that Germany are they main benefactors from the Euro because interests rates were set to match the German economy, not the completely different and incompatible PIIGS economies. But rather than admit the mistake and possibly try and correct it instead, YOU the German tax payer can stump up umpteen billions to bail out the PIIGS, because as I said, Germany has all the money.

Sadly this is a misconception. Germany does NOT have the money to do all that. We may have a good economy, but we also have trillions of Euros in debt - and by giving our money to countries like Ireland, Greece, or now Portugal, we're just getting more. The german taxpayer does not at all like what the government does with our money - namely shove it up the arse of nations who are plainly too incompetent to actually collect their taxes (like Greece) etc. And THIS is the reason why I dislike the EU. That and the sovereignty thing.

This will be the last I say about this topic, lest I start ranting and flaming and all that stuff and a mod passes by and clobbers me for it. Also, I referred to your "Fourth Reich" statement, which is utter crap and nonsense. We have better things to do than that - for example earn more money so we can shove it even further up the EU's arse.
