It's all in-character, mon ami.

BTW, I am reading a series of books about L'Empéreur Napoléon and his adversary, the Duke of Wellington, right now. Of course, where I am at right now, Géneral Bonaparte is preparing to strike the Ottomans from Egypt, and Colonel Wellesley is stuck in India. Nice read, though. The writer's a genius for historic military fiction (or as in his Wellington/Napoleon series, history with a bit of flavour added in). Simon Scarrow's the name. Him and Jasper Fforde are my favourite writers right now, tbh.

Adam Zamoyski FTW! :D

Also, I was wondering should we do a Royal Wedding thread for Prince Rory and Lady Faye, maybe just for the lulz? Make it like a sort of William/Kate thing, except because we're absolute monarchs, make it more 'fun' :P

I know, just joking.

That sounds like a good book, is it a fictional novel or a historic one ?

Sharpe is pretty epic though. I also love that the RV series was actually epic as well, unlike some adoptions that are shit. Sean Bean \o/

My dads collected them all. His study is full of many series of books. They're all mine in his will, and his and my familys medals. Including other valubles. God forbid he die anytime soon though! :lol2:

It's a fictionalized biography of sorts. As in, Scarrow sticks to the facts established by history, but adds some elements of his own, including a meeting of the two during their military training in the first book. Most of it is history, though. It's a series of four books (Young Bloods, The Generals, Sword and Fire, The Fields of Death), and very well written, switching between the two storylines (Napoleon and Wellington) every few chapters (for example, we are told about Napoleon's campaign in Egypt from his landing near Alexandria until the Battle of the Pyramids, and then the point of view switches over to Wellington in India). Look it up on Amazon, they have excerpts as well, I think.

The epic 90's guitar solo.

And the closing theme.

For that I can forgive them casting a Blond Yorkshire man in the role of a Dark haired Londoner.

*edit*

And Peter Pestelwithe as Hakeswill FTW

No, but I can tell I already want it :P

Explain.

You take control of a nation in the 1914 period. Large countries like America and Russia are split up. For examples, Canada is split into about 4 controllable nations such as Newfoundland, and Columbia. All the big players such as Britain, France and The German empire are there. You basically manage your nation and take over over nations.

My current game I am Greece. I have taken all of Serbia and Hungary, a bit of Austria Hungary, Parts of Romania and parts of the Ottoman empire.

You attack using infantry mostly, but as the game goes on you can start making Artillery, Tanks, Rail guns and battleships. Things like planes and submarines are a part of the 'gold' rounds, i.e. paying so avoid that.

Unit make-up:
1-9 units= battalion. 1=1000 men.

10-20= Division.
20-30= Corps.
30+ = Army group.

I.E two Infantry Units are something like the 6th Greek infantry battalion.

70 Infantry 3 artillery and 4 tanks= The 33rd Greek Army group.

You have resources which you need to create units and buildings, and Grain and Coal are important for maintaining troops and movement capabilities.
