The magazine being behind the grip is a Bullpup design feature. Bullpups cut down on the length and weight of a weapon. For example if my military were engaging enemies in an urban environment, but needed a longer ranged weapon after they pushed back enemy forces into open terrain.. The Bullpup would work well for an application such as this. Where it cuts down on weapon length so it would be better applied in urban environments. Since it cuts down on the size of the weapon as well it's easier to fit men into APC's who are using such a rifle.

Indeed. Two weapons could have a barrel length of, say, 500mm. If you were to turn one into a bullpup, its length would drastically decrease but the barrel would remain the same size. It's a compact long range weapon.

Some of the best rifles in the world use Bull-pup, like the AUG and SA-80. Even the US is seeing the benefits. Although it still doesn't beat the G36 series.

meh, stories are easy to come by, I just added the story about Bladian victory over the Borrheadian fleet in Gearria

tremendous victory with only a frigate of the first fleet sustaining minor damage whilst the enemies 32 ship fleet was destroyed

BURN HIM FOR HERESY!!!

The SA80 sucked balls. It was more unreliable then the M16 when it first went into nam. Hell a lot of British Army unnits just shuffled the paperwork around and kept their SLR's.

Now when it was re-issued as the L85 it was a good weapon. However nothing. And I mean nothing. Can replace the two standard British rifles that came before it.

The SLR was a great rifle and very easy to turn full auto. And then there is the Lee-Enfield family.

If I started talking the Enfield's I would be here all week.

Yes I know. It's bugging the hell out of me as well as I want a colony. Unfortunately the one Grey harbours was doing filled up before I could join and now I'm stuck in this one. But with the sheer levels of noobishness are starting to drive me away. :evil:
