"You might as well want to tell your friends to kindly turn away, after all, do you want to speak to the PM ?" asked the man who had first met them as he saw the commodore turn around.

"They are not ours. That's why I looked..." The commodore said. "Our people would be in uniform.."

Suddenly a couple of men in the uniform of the National Self Defence Force Marechaussee (Military Police) looked at the car while they were standing across from the park. One got his radio while his comrade drew his pistol. Before he could aim at the car one of the men in the car threw the door open and fired a couple of shots - both Marechaussee's collapsed on the spot.

The commodore turned around "Holy...." was all he said.

"Evasive fucking maneuverer, attack that son of a bitch !" shouted the man into his radio as the experienced driver went off-road into smaller roads.

Behind them, the van and the Ford began to fire some tracer rounds at the car chasing the convoy.

It didn't take long when suddenly two motorbikes appeared. A jeep, belonging to the military attaché's office stopped while four Marechaussee's and a Globexian police officer came out. Two Marechaussee's got from their bikes. One carrying a Heckler & Koch MP5. He took aim at the attackers.

A black van began to speed up next to the car, a man opened the side door where he leaned out as the van got nearer to the car.
From there, the mafia man began to fire at the driver with an AK-47 as his comrade aimed at the tires.

One of the Marechaussee's quickly helped up a young girl that taking cover behind a park bench and quickly escorted her to a small wall and told her to lie down behind it. The Marechaussee with the MP5 took up position behind an ornate mailbox.

The black van then rammed the car into the side, as soon as it had stopped it went into reverse, just to make sure.
Back in the first car with the diplomat, the man turned around.

"Well, that was heated. You want to talk to your PM before you go in ?" he asked.

"The sooner the better. " the diplomat said - clearly impressed by how the situation had been taken care off.

"I do." The diplomat took the phone and dialled a number. He waited for a moment.

(OOC: I'll continue this tomorrow. I should get some rest).

"Take your time, we have about 30 minutes of waiting." said the driver, looking back in his mirror.

The diplomat waits until the phone is picked up. This is the weirdest meeting with a head of government he ever had, he thought.

"It is encrypted enough, do not worry." said the man as he plugged in a few wires from the phone into a small dish on the roof of the car, which he put up by hand.

Verburg heard a woman pick up on the other side of the phone saying something in Globexian "Good morning, ma'am. It's ambassador Leo Verburg, on behalf of the Free Tristanian mission here in Globexanter, I am trying to reach His Excellence Prime Minister Gauche, please." He used his best Globexian.

"You might want to try and contact your P.M. first." said the man as there was obviously some movement at the other side of the phone.

"I will do that if I am able to reach him." The man hung up and got his own encrypted phone. He dialled a number and waited.

On the other side was Den Uyl and Verburg greeted him in the traditional sense eventhough he and the Prime Minister for years (in Free Tristania the title symbolised respect for the function a person fulfilled - not for the man himself), he then switched over to using a more informal way of speaking.

Ah goeie middag, uwe Excellentie ek hoop dat ek jou nie stoor? Hoe gaan dit aan jou kant van die Oseaan?
The conservation went on while the diplomat looked outside.

Wel .. die sending verval baie rustig alleen is daar enige probleme met die kontak maak met mnr Gauche. he put his hand on the briefcase and looked at the commodore.
"Ooh .. jy sê dat daar ontwikkelinge wees? Hoe bedoel jy?"
The commodore had an expression of surprise on his face as he saw that the diplomat showed a mixture of reserve and surprise.
"Dit is ongelooflik ....Ek dank u vir u commission .. Wat hou die neefs daarvan? "
He gestured to the commodore when he wiped his head.
Nee .. ek sal dit vir hom sê - die dokumente lê dus reeds op die kantoor. Dit is dus by hierdie formeel? He moved his hand over his cheeck.
"O.K ek verstaan dit. U lig dus vir my mynheer Gauche in en laat my aandienen ? En my gesin en dat van die commodore ? O.K ek dank u.. baie geluk in die Parlement " He hung up and sat back for a moment.

"I didn't see that one coming" he said. "Right.. Den Uyl told me the following. It seems that I received a commission as an ambassador to this country. I seem to have been appointed a couple of hours ago without knowing and the same goes for you.." he pointed "Congratulations, attaché, your position has just been formalised." He then looked at the man again and continued "It seems that Den Uyl is contacting Gauche for a formal audition. I will receive my letter of credence in the morning as the Globexians have accepted the nomination and I will have to take it to Mr. Gauche. He (referring to Den Uyl) doesn't know about today's assault by the way.. and I suggest that we keep it that way."

The man smiled "I think it has a lot to do with the publication I had to read about the man. An article concerning foreign policies in the annals of Parliament and it was spelled as G-a-u-c-h-e. Blame the Prime Minister - as he wrote the article. It seems that the Government has rather big plans as it seems to be a rather big embassy. Where is Kamberland Road ?"

"A part of the city I have never been then, and I thought I knew it well." The diplomat "One thing however.. has any members of the local council or the planning committee here been informed about a plan our Prime Minister had for a gift to the local people ? He was talking about some formal garden in Free Tristanian style using local equipment and he wants to hire local staff where possible. For the rest he remained rather vague telling me that I will receive the details later on."

The diplomat looked outside and gestured to the commodore. "Does this remind you of something ? He pointed at the government buildings ?"
"Now that you mention it. It looks a lot like Parliament House.. just the square in front of it is completely different." The commodore says. "I wonder which one is oldest ? Probably there is some truth in the word cousins."

"Most surprising fact for you.." the diplomat said "On the other side of it is the river. It's basically the same as our own."

"The Government Buildings, that one there (said the driver pointing to a large circle/square building), is not the oldest but the most important. The Parliament is next to if (he pointed to a larger older building situated just right of the first), and there is quite a few other ones. We'll be entering a private Governmental area soon, get your passports or I.D.'s." said the man.
