"Let's hope that we will get similar systems and..." his phone rang. "I can't believe this..."he picked it up. "Yes.. the line is secure."
He seemed to listen for a moment. "Thank you.. I will pass on the message." He hung up again.
The diplomat had a surprised look on his face.

"Our nation has just performed it's first atomic test. It was a smashing success. A 12 kiloton bomb going off in a deep shaft somewhere out in the outback of the country. We have joined the nuclear club. There will be a statement later on on TV."

"Oh don't worry, we had our turn with those. Sadly, the thing is, these people aren't soldiers. They are scared to the bone to a point where their only point of refuge is a piece of paper with the words 'Condemnation' in big red letters. They are cowards." answered the Commander.

They burn these papers, the Prime Minister himself has took it as a kind of hobby to burn in front of the Globexian News Agencies any letter of condemnation he receives." said the Commander.

"Den Uyl is too warm-hearted a man for that but I think that even he.. sometimes feels the urge to do something similar." The commodore said. "The Civil War changed him.. he wouldn't have thought of having a policeman speak harshly to a car thief before this entire incident let alone the mess around MilInt, now he sends Para's south and crushes some rebels."

"Well, a politician of a high rank also needs to set standards within his Nation. If a people of the nation don't agree with him, then something is really wrong. The Para's should take it as granted, any proper military force would class crushing untrained men as pretty good training."

"Well. I have known him for a long time. What he has is a lot of feeling for his people and an always guilty conscience. He was raised in one of the more strict churches our country which always tends to hammer one going on step further, doing good and always working hard. So... he is a perfectionist and a terrible one at it. Always busy, always working.. never content. Restless. We are surprised that he hasn't succumbed to a heart attack yet." the diplomat replied.

"Well, he better start relaxing sooner or later. That is exactly how we lost our Minister of Commerce ten years ago, so busy trying to get the Nation back on it's economical feet that he worked as much as he could, sometimes even in his own bed... He is now retired with one hell of a heart condition." explained the Commander.

"And we have been trying to explain that to Den Uyl. Trust me.. has wife has tried, his sons and daughters have tried. And trust me they have a big family: three sons and four daughters and I have no idea how he found the time for that but there they are. But he simply won't listen. There are some plans within the Labour Party to force him to rest after the nation is back together. By now allowing him to run another time when the elections are coming up."
