The Countesian fleet, having met with the Aurelian and Kingmen Fleet, was now at a combined total of over one hundred and twenty ships between the three nations. Although they had chosen to not aid Countesia in blockading Fenwick Tower, Arpasian minesweeping efforts alongside the Countesian one had cleared the mines for the ships to safely pass, and only one minesweeping vessel had been damaged in a premature explosion and was forced to stay back to enact repairs to its breached hull.

Their goal remained unchanged, any ships attempting to leave or approach Fenwick tower would either be boarded or sunk. The Fenwick Foundation was likely to retaliate with slave executions, but the admiralty with direct orders from the Prime Minister himself had chosen, a with heavy heart, to ignore such threats. Largely because a handful of deaths was insignificant when compared to demise of the Fenwick Foundation, and the blow it would mean to the international slave market. It was also hoped, that such executions would bring more support to Countesia and its allies.

All the Countesian ships were brought to full combat readiness. its missile compliment, both anti-air and anti-ship had been brought fully online alongside its CIW systems. Its radars were manned by the ships full compliment of radar technicians. The Countesian aircraft carriers had also brought all its fighters from below deck and had fuelled, armed and prepped them to launch at a moments notice. It had chosen not to launch them as the Romanic Imperium's fighters seemed to have a good grip on the airspace above Fenwick Tower, but would launch to assist them if needed.

Anti-submarine systems had also been brought to full functionality, to detect any retaliation or interlopers trying to access Fenwick Tower via submersible.

OOC: No, Arpasia backed down after I threatened to execute the slaves if they went ahead with the minesweeping operation.

I don't think he did. He voided your post about killing slaves over minesweeping operations.

Not sure why though, because you can still do that and he can still minesweep.

OOC: Him voiding my post in a thread OPed by me for no reason? I've interpreted it as him backing down, which makes far more sense, but Arpasia should clarify.

One CH-80M helicopters assigned to the detachment, N341587, utilizing a minesweeping sled during Operation Janitor

While Arpasia has assumed the status of neutrality as it's foreign policy in what would become known as The Fenwick Conflict, the Armed Forces, particularly the branches of the Navy and Air Force, have successfully carried out Operation Janitor in an effort to clear the path for the Countesian naval fleet. This operation was in response to the nation of Salé-Rabat defending the main outpost of the Fenwick Foundation by laying seamines in the predicted path of the Countesian Naval Fleet, the Air Force and Navy has agreed to launch a small detachment of 18 minesweeping vessels, 9 CH-80M Condor cargo helicopters that will utilize minesweeping sleds and 5 AH-50D Arapaho Attack helicopters that will act as aerial defense units.

The operation takes place in the early hours of April 25th, 2022, with 18 Arpasian Navy minesweepers departing from Pontchartrain Harbor at 4:38 AM, followed several hours later by 2 Arpasian Navy helicopter carriers stationed near the Countesian units deploying the Condor and Arapaho helicopters at 6:11 AM, by this time, the Arpasian Armed Forces receives word that the Countesian fleet will be conducting a minesweeping operation of their own and provide additional helicopters to reinforce the Arapaho escorts. By 6:55 AM, Operation Janitor has fully commenced, with three Condor helicopters towing their sleds, followed by the minesweepers NDÉ553 and NDÉ554 mobilizing near the areas where seamines are suspected to be laid.

By 7:25 AM, the Countesian naval units have entered the operation, when Countesian minesweeping vessels have begun to move alongside the Arpasian minesweepers, this operation has gone smoothly for the first few hours, until one minesweeping sled towed by N634020, one of the nine CH-80M helicopters, was blown out of the water by a mine that was close to the surface. The blast caused the sled to explode into large fragments, with one of those fragments hitting N634020's tail rotor, damaging it, with another fragment embedding itself within it's closed cabin door, leaving a sizeable damage in it. N634020's pilot contacted one of the helicopter carrier's captain, declaring that it's going to crash, however, this helicopter did not fully crash, for it has successfully made an emergency landing near to one of the Countesian navy frigates, and it's crew is lifted out of the floating helicopter by it's crew, while one of the other CH-80M helicopters were ordered to airlift the downed N634020 out of the water.

Another more tragic incident would transpire 2 hours later, the minesweeper NDÉ561 was about to clear one of the mines, when the bow of the ship unexpectedly made contact with one of the mines, setting it off, the explosion was enough to capsize the minesweeper and severely damage it's starboard hull. Shortly after the explosion, six men were seen surfacing near the doomed vessel, the mist from where the explosion had once been still visible, a Countesian helicopter and one Arpasian CH-80, the same one that airlifted the downed N634020 only hours earlier, came down to retrieve the men, the Countesian helicopter left the wreckage, while the Arpasian condor stayed for 25 more minutes, waiting for more survivors. After the incident, the final report suggests that out of the 15 men who served on NDÉ561, only 30% of it's crew survived.

To whom may this concern,

We have received word that a nation has launched a nuclear warhead at one of the Fenwick Foundation's base of operations. This, of course, drastically alarmed the rest of the Triumvirate, and the Council wished to know who orchestrated the launching of a nuclear warhead. We all know that nuclear weapons can and will pollute everything, and we wish to know WHICH nation launched it.

The Great Realm has condemned the atrocities, which have led to unnecessary deaths and lost profits in regards to a ransom. Though slavery is prohibited within the boundaries of the Dread Scepter, it is willing to pay for such slaves to free them within the Metic Regions. Given the likelihood that Fewnik will succumb to the powers upon its world, such a gesture has been made to appease those who desire to use the atrocities to bring order to this world.

What we spend in regime change will cost us more than paying for them to be brought to our shores. A garrison would be hated by all, for we have no business in this region of space. Enemies upon the surface we would make, which might attract those powers dead set against the Realm.

To whom it may concern,

We are not instigating fear around the world. We only received word from a Triumvirate observer-state of the launch of a nuclear warhead upon the Fenwick Foundation's own Fenwick Tower, but it is unclear to said observer-state when that happened (either just now or sometime ago) or who launched it. Thus, we wished to ask any and all parties for information.

We will appreciate any information you have.

As per your request, we would like to share with you the details of the events surrounding the nuclear incident at the Fenwick Tower.

On the 24st of April, the Fenwick Foundation announced that they would execute one hundred slaves each time the sovereignty of Fenwick Tower would be violated. Several nations responded with military intervention to this gross violation of human rights, including the nation known as Laka Strolistandiler. They issued the Fenwick Foundation an ultimatum to cease all operations, lest they risk a nuclear strike targeting the Fenwick Tower. After failing to comply with the ultimatum for a second time, the Lakans proceeded to deploy a nuclear weapon on the Fenwick Tower, resulting in its complete destruction and over 10 million deaths.

This is what we know so far, based on our intel and various public statements concerning the matter, including one made by the Lakan military themselves.

We hope this has helped you in your inquiry.

To the sender who delivered this information,

We thank you for the information provided. We, at the Triumvirate Council, were shocked by the nuclear attack launched by the Lakan military. Never have we expected something like this to happen. Surely, special forces should have been sent alongside a number of submarines and ships to invade the Fenwick Tower, but a nuclear attack? That does not sit well for the rest of the Triumvirate.

Nevertheless, we must thank you for the information you have provided us. It is so unexpected, but the information you gave us definitely helped in our inquiry. Again, we thank you.

It was not a nuclear warhead but rather a group of 10 1.2 megaton nuclear bombs.

Further information is relayed by Lakans, including a reconnaissance video of the attack, the names and the number/call sign of the plane that carried out the attack

To whom it may concern,

We thank all of you for the information you have provided. The Lakan military's use of nuclear weapons to destroy Fenwick Tower has shocked the entire Triumvirate, and we never even expected it to happen. The nuclear fallout doesn't help at all.

Regardless, the Triumvirate would like to thank all of you for sharing such crucial information. Now that the Lakans have done the unthinkable, the Triumvirate will begin clean-up operations - that is, commencing nuclear decontamination and debris recovery. We would like everyone to respect our neutrality while we perform the clean-up.

Once again, we thank all of you.
