‘My lady, the orders have been given and the fleet stands ready.’ An officer said on a near whisper tone directed at a woman, looking no older then 40, sitting upon the chair which stood upon a slightly elevated platform upon the bridge.
‘I see and the Mars Legion Transports?’ the woman asked uninterested as she read a book about Hercule Poirot. The woman was no one less then admiral Harverton, one of the greatest military minds currently within the Tybran Military and one whom stood high within the Imperator’s favor thus making her one of the most influential persons within the Holy Empire.
‘They will be escorted by the Winter Fleet once we’ve completed our primary task of operation Checkmate. Right now my lady, we await your orders.’ The officer said. He was a person who stood at admiral Harverton’s side for a long time and knew her well, at least professionally. Privately admiral Harverton was a closed room mystery not even the greatest of writers could describe.

Admiral Harveton closed her book and placed upon a silver platter held by her servant* and then stood up. As she rose she took of her reading glasses and placed them in her breast pocket. She took a long breath and then began giving out the necessary orders.
‘Upon Imperial Decree 666-B, By order of the Imperator, the Southern Fleet will now execute protocol 12-A, Operation Checkmate will now begin, target: the United Socialist States of Agaralia. Tybran fleet, the Southern Wind Fleet departs!’

As she said “departs” the ship began moving, slowly the ships left the Southern Port the home of the Southern Wind Fleet. It was then admiral Harverton giggled as she sat down. She was reminded of an ancient military proverb circling around the Military Academy halls for nearly centuries and noticed how it related to the Avalon class carrier and her ship the Sapphire. ‘When the Sapphire dragon leaves its nest everything ends.’

‘My Imperator, word has come from Shazbotdom, they’ve apparently threatened with an ultimatum…’ as the Imperial Guard reported and said the word ultimatum the whispering began as many high officials, being typically paranoid began suspecting it was addressed to the Holy Empire. Yet the Imperial guard restored himself and continued ignoring the concern ‘the ultimatum is addressed to Agaralia due to the cause of the state of war currently between Agaralia and Greater Nepal. Would the Shazbotdom Empire go to war, it would be a great asset of forces in the coming conflict.’

The Imperator remained silent for minutes thinking or so the Imperial Guard believed as the full-headed mask of the Imperator covered any and all expression of emotion. Yet once the whispers died out the Imperator began speaking. ‘Though we could assume the reason for the ultimatum is both admirable as justified we could also sees this as merely an excuse for other reasons still unknown. Furthermore they pose a potential threat for the Hegemony in its current state.

‘Excellent, furthermore relay a message to the Phantom Squads to mobilize for transportation to the Southern Wind Fleet, they are to use Operation Cornered King and capture the leader of Agaralia. Also send in a cleric as We wish to send a message to Agaralia.’

Imperial Letter of Foreign Affairs

Upon your request of peace talks, the Holy Empire suggest you sign and ratify the Treaty of Enlightenment to ensure peace will be made. It is the only opportunity for peace without facing severe losses and the complete destruction of the military forces of Agaralia. This is the sole demand of the Holy Empire for peace and no less will be tolerated.

The Treaty of Enlightenment

Preamble
To protect and safeguard the peace this treaty has been made to ensure the strength of all nations upon this world who signed the treaty. As such the article with the treaty and the nations referred to only apply to those whom signed the treaty.

Article 1
1 The nations will loose their right to take any military action against other nations.
2 Only the Holy Empire of Tybra is allowed to take military action on behalf of all signed nations
3 Signed nations must, if they feel military actions are required, request these actions through a private channel with the Imperator of the Holy Empire of Tybra.
4 Military actions contain the following rights and obligations of nations: The right to declare war, the right to make peace, the right to embargo other nations, the right to give military passage, the right to obtain military passage, the condemning of nations based upon an ideological point of view, the rigt to make military alliances, the right to give support to other nations.

Article 2
1 The signed nations must give at least 20% of their tax income to their military budget.
2 The holy empire of Tybra is allowed to take an unlimited amount of the military budget whenever they please to do, but must use the funds for the security of the nations.
3 The Military forces of the nations will gain a Tybran training and will be stationed within the nations wherever the holy empire of Tybra pleases to do so.
4 All military forces will remain under the nations control, however if an official request is made by the Holy empire of Tybra regarding all military forces, the nations must oblige to the official request.

Article 3
1 The nations will not interfere with each others internal affairs, unless upon request or the security of the nations comes at harm.
2 The nations are obliged to aide each other within times of war as well as times of peace.

Article 4
1 The Imperator of the Holy Empire of Tybra has the right to add, remove and edit any section within this treaty
2 The nations do NOT have the rights of 4:1 but are allowed to request any editing removing or adding sections within this treaty.

‘Very well’ Admiral Harverton said coldly yet then something happened within an instant her tone changed as she began giving out fleet orders. ‘Fleet status rise to red alert. All ships prepare for combat. Open missile hatches. Prepare automated cannons, use coastal bombardment shells. Prepare missiles at sea skimming altitude and prepare for immediate launch.
Launch 4 squadrons and have them patrol the skies surrounding the fleet, change squadrons at random interval between 1 hour and 3 hours.
Southern Wind Fleet, we are the pride of the Holy Empire, show these vile inferior beings the superiority of a Tybran. Operation Checkmate will now begin the Falling King phase, all ships let’s have a war.’

Though the orders were spouted out in but minutes the officers relayed the orders to the other ships with great haste and equal efficiency. Ships moved synchronized moving into formation forming a pentagram like only a demon fleet could form.

Admiral Harverton looked as the numbers began falling down replaced by lower values as they reached the border, closer and closer. Instead of war they would enter, it appeared as though were nearing the centre of time itself. Seconds felt like minutes, minutes felt like hours, hours would seem like eternity. 100 nm (nautical miles) became 50 nm, 50nm became 25, 25 became 10 and then an officer began counting down until the moment they would no longer be but mere words on paper but a true threat.

’10…9…8…’the officer began, with each passing digit his breath grew heavier ‘7…6…5…’time seemed to go slower then ever before ‘4…3…2…1…’ and then time stopped.
