Army Day parades dedicated to the vanquishing of the "enemies" of the Sultanate.

The Sultanate of Mahdah's annual Army Day commemorating the founding of the Mahdavian Armed Forces took place in Khalidiya in front of the Royal Mausoleum which is the final resting place for all Mahdavian Sultans. In light of the opening of direct hostilities with the Ordenstaat in Barjaanistan and Potthan the national holiday has brought a influx of people attending ceremonies and military parades across the Sultanate. Currently over 5 million Mahdavian servicemen are actively resisting the Ordenite menace abroad. The main parade in Khalidiya involved over 20,000 Mahdavian personnel from across the major branches of the Armed Forces.

A segment of the parade in the capital featured a comprehensive list of military losses suffered by the Ordenstaat and Potthan so far in the war. This list compiled by the Mahdavian Army and the Mahdavian Janissaries Corps includes the following;

x25,000 Ordenite personnel WIA or KIA
x50,000 Potthani personnel WIA or KIA
x600 main battle tanks
x2,000 armored fighting vehicles
x50 fixed wing aircraft
x150 helicopters
x12 warships
x20 airfields
x7 logistics depots
x5 army barracks
x25 SAM systems
x500 drones

During the main parade, several pieces of wreckage from the Ordenstaat and Potthan armies was also showcased to the public. Several destroyed Ordenite reconnaissance drones and the turret of a main battle tank whose origins come from Ordena were some of the pieces shown. Footage was also shown of the work of the Unmanned Systems Forces in targeting Ordenite and Potthani forces in Barjaanistan and Northern Potthan, along with other strikes on Potthan proper. The full weight of the Mahdavian Armed Forces and the Mujahideen who fight to protect the faithful of Zenith are coming to bear to crush our enemies.

Renée dac Córvand wins election for premiership
Editor Mara Kkinteiro | Nerva FD, Wuomu State, The United Islands of New Calandria

NERVA, United Islands — Calandrians went to the polls in droves to cast their vote for who would be the new Prime Minister of the nation. The parliamentary elections of last year saw the Social Democrat Party led by the late Andrés Tuakkiri dominate the outcome with the Calandrian Conservative Assembly and the Industrial Advancement Bloc trailing behind.

Enrikke Órvala's National Labour Party lost out during that election, losing their bid to be in the election for the premiership this year, and with his term ending that left three candidates for the seat. Renée dac Corvand, the firebrand that rose through party leadership in the Social Democrats after her career as an ambassador was nominated as their candidate for the election. She faced off against Dorian Albec from the CCA and Marcell Vantorín from the IAB.

Known for her bristling quips and quirky mannerisms, Dac Córvand has become a favorite among younger voters who see a new path forward under her leadership. During the campaign trail, the three candidates held a televised debate where she did not disappoint.

Some key moments and background:

The Social Democrats have been pushing their Renewal and Reform Platform hard during the campaign trail, something that both the IAB and CCA have taken shots at. On the topic of growing the national economy by expanding ''well-informed'' subsidies and investments in Calandrian fishing and oil production, Vantorín criticized the platform stating that Dac Córvand's plan was too slow.

"We need growth now, not in ten years. We can invest in all the infrastructure we like but its useless without the business to tap into it. People need jobs today, not more bureaucratic red tape and promises. Our industries already suffer from needless regulations, and promises don't put food on the table. $50.6 billion dollars in tied up state-run trusts. I have my checkbook with me tonight, I could easily write that and do some good with it. That's how you invest.''

Dac Córvand fired back, ''You talk of growth, growth without stability is collapse with extra steps. Are you willing to open your checkbook for the unemployment claims? Willing to pay for their groceries? Speaking of which, lets talk about the Treandres Petroleum spill that cost us billions to clean-up. Who owns that oil rig again?"

Vantorín replied angrily, ''You're just afraid of taking risks!''

''I'm afraid of taking bad, ill-informed risks, Marcell. There's a difference. Marcell wants to talk about numbers. I want to talk about consequences. Numbers can be rewritten. Consequences cannot. Ask the fishing communities in the Treandres Isles that were devastated by that spill and see what they say about consequences. We are seeking to invest in our future as a nation, and guess what Marcell, investing in that infrastructure creates jobs. Those regulations you despise protect other businesses that put food on the table for millions, quite literally. Perhaps you should put your money where your mouth is and open that checkbook because I'm coming to collect.''

During a question about Dac Córvand's New Horizons pledge during her campaign trail that would expand education investments in Wuomui tribal nations, Albec had this to say:

''Dac Córvand speaks of horizons. Horizons are illusions. The nation needs strong anchors, otherwise we're adrift at sea. You say we're building New Horizons, and yet all I see are policies that are focusing on the wrong areas. A nation must respect its deep roots or it'll fall in the next storm.''

In a moment that has become something of a meme, Dac Córvand adjusted her cuffs and replied, ''You do know a ship is only meant to anchor temporarily, correct? You want to talk about roots—yet we are a seafaring island nation and it seems evident to me that you would benefit from the program, Albec. Might I recommend how to sail a ship? Turns out education is, in fact, important ladies and gentleman.''

The election not without its controversies either. A leaked internal memo of a CCA staffer criticized Dac Córvand's half-Wuomui heritage implying she wasn't ''traditional enough.'' Something that garnered condemnation from other parties and was vehemently denied as a fabrication by the CCA.

Dac Córvand was asked about the memo and stated, ''I don't need to prove my heritage. I live it everyday.''

After a report was released linking the Treandres Oil spill to a petroleum company that closely aligns with Vantorín's campaign that damaged a protected reef and caused an estimated $20 billion in damage to the fishing industry, Dac Córvand stated, ''Accountability is not optional. And the sea is not a landfill.''

After an anonymous source provided the CCA with information about Dac Córvand's relationship during her campaign trail with Estre'a DeLancey, a renowned fashion designer, which outed Dac Córvand in the process. She had this to say when questioned why she had not disclosed her sexuality before hitting the campaign trail and whether it was important for voters to know.

''I have never hidden who I am. I am bisexual and proud of it. My private life, however, is not a campaign tool. While they focus on my identity to spur a scandal, I would rather focus on public needs. We have work to do.''

The leak by the CCA had the opposite effect drawing in severe public backlash with Vantorín stating ''We need leaders focused on industry, not a tagline. What the CCA did was counter-productive and they should re-evaluate their priorities.''

Dac Córvand's party has been a growing force for years now. It's ideology has focused on what it calls 'pragmatic progressivism, soft-power diplomacy, and sustainable economic modernization' — while it grew under Tuakkiri's leadership, Dac Córvand's ascension has galvanized the party and its supporters.

Some remarks of note from those interviewed during her campaign trail described her as calm, measured, and ambitious.

''She doesn't shout. She doesn't raise her voice. She doesn't posture. You ask her a question, she pauses, then responds. She couldn't be any more different from Vantorín.''

''She can dismantle an argument with the elegance of a surgeon. There's never a question where she stands on an issue and she'll happily tear down your argument piece by piece and use it as shrapnel.''

Dac Córvand was born in the coastal district of Maru'kai, a small township on the island of Tuálo known for its fishing and tight-knit Wuomui communities. Her mother, Aline Raukkiri, worked as a dockside accountant, while her father, Tómas dac Córvand, was a mechanic for the merchant marines. Renée's Áma, grandmother, Ha'uma Raukkiri was a respected tidekeeper — a cultural role centered on preserving the oral histories of the Wuomui.

Renée learned Wuomui from her grandmother including tide songs and what it meant to be a tidekeeper. She has explained before during interviews that the love she developed for the ocean can be credited for her calm temperament.

''You sit out on the beach you notice the flow of the water, and the wind in the reeds. Eventually, you learn to listen, I find it quite magical in a way. My Áma used to say, 'from the heart of the sea, I came to be, a small little shell that just could not contain me' and I always laughed at that. And yet, here I am.''

Dac Córdac's academic performance earned her a scholarship at the University of Belfacit, she described moving to the city as a shock. She majored in Geopolitics and Statecraft with a secondary education in International Business and Macroeconomics. Her professors said they took note of her talent dissecting complex political dynamics and being known for asking incisive questions.

During her final year, she wrote a thesis titled ''Archipelagic Leverage: Soft Power Strategies for the Maritime State'' which circulated within government circles and quietly influenced foreign policy. She was tapped to join the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a junior analyst, demonstrating a knack for navigating tense negotiations that quickly propelled her upward.

She was later assigned as an envoy working through the State Department and spending several years traveling to promote the nation's foreign policy initiatives. Through her mixed heritage, she was seen as a natural bridge-builder, with Ambassador Cristobal DeLeón stating that she ''carried the ocean's patience''.

Eventually she became an ambassador herself taking on high-level negotiations between the United Islands and other nations. She was integral in drafting several policies and after she left Foreign Affairs and joined the Social Democrat party, she quickly became an important advisor to Tuakkiri.

Her main focus for her term as Prime Minister is to push the United Island's diplomatic initiatives and establish more lucrative trade treaties, envisioning the nation to be something of a bulwark on the international stage for what she describes as thoughtful diplomacy.

She also wants to invest heavily in education and infrastructure to enable a long-term goal of economic prosperity. This has often come at odds with business leaders such as Vantorín. However, she has described this policy as promoting stable, foundational growth. ''It's hard to stand on the roof and look at the stars if you haven't yet built the house,'' she stated during an interview.

Alongside the infrastructure, she wants to review regulations for industries with targeted investments to modernize key ones. This includes an expansion of oil production and drilling in the southern sea with better safeguards as well as better safety requirements for the mining industry. A policy she has described as a responsible stewardship of natural resources that respects both the environment and expectations.

COMMONWEALTH ANNOUNCES MOBILISATION

Cites Growing Regional Tensions

MORRDUN.- The Morridane government announced earlier today it will formally start mobilising it’s military reservists as per it’s Transition to Conflict plans as it raises it’s alert state to Amber. Growing regional tensions and conflict brewing in lands that border Commonwealth territory were cited as the main reasons, a spokesperson vaguely hinted to ‘threat actors’ without specifically identifying any particular nation. Though it is widely believed that the Ordenite State, a Dienstad power hostile to the Commonwealth, is the perceived threat.

With the Morridane Civil War and the Magadaran Conflict both still fresh in people’s minds, many question the Commonwealth’s preparedness if another clash with the Ordenite is considered a strong possibility. All three Services of the Morridane Armed Forces have yet to finish recovering, reorganising and rebuilding from the Magadaran Conflict. The Royal Morridane Navy in particular still has a significant chunk of it’s surface fleet laid up for repairs whilst shipyards attempt to speed up refits and construction of new vessels.

The Morridane Army fares a little better, weapon systems and vehicles being quicker to produce than a warship. However, many armoured units remain understrength as they wait for replacement vehicles. Further complicating matters is an Army-wide reorganisation to address the growing prominence of drones on the battlefield, both as another tool in the soldier’s arsenal as well as counter-UAV doctrine and tactics.

Faring the best of the Services is the Royal Morridane Air Force, whilst having suffered loses in recent conflicts it still retains much of it’s strength and continues to act as the Commonwealth’s First Responder. It is understood that the RMAF has started to forward deploy elements of it’s tanker fleet round the region along with combat squadrons. In places like Norgorka in central GD, fighter planes have begun escorting flights into and out of that nation.

Mobilising thousands of reservists will take time, a fact that it not loss on the Morridane government as it was also announced that reservists have been grouped into tranches based upon skills and time out of regular service. Recent Service leavers and those serving in the Volunteer Reserves will be amongst those who are called up first, other groups will be progressively called up as training pipelines spin up for those needing retraining. All ex-Regular service persons are liable for six years reserve commitment, giving the Commonwealth a vast pool of service personnel to call upon.

The Commonwealth has to contend with three potential war-zones; Mordent, New Garrack and Norgorka which all lie precariously close to Ordenite held territory. All three already have a substantial Commonwealth military presence, though this is expected to be reinforced with both men and material. Norgorka is of great concern, being bordered on three sides by Ordenite controlled Krasnova but it’s defences and local forces have seen a great deal of investment from the Commonwealth.

Whilst the Commonwealth still has a great deal of work to do in order to mobilise itself for a major conflict, there are many asking whether the announcement and current efforts are more intended to serve as a deterrence than actual committal to any potential conflict?

Malchut Movement Stalled

Drive Toward Kingship At Impasse

Pelsh Comments Viewed As Monkey Wrench Into The Works Amidst Shpira Successor Considerations.

Discussions amongst leading nobles and the Royal Council regarding elevation of Prince Harold to kingship have halted temporarily after Prime Minister Bezalel Shapira’s recent hospitalization for a lung infection. While the Prime Minister has been back at work for a month, his health has caused concern among those familiar with key figures at The Palace and has led to speculation as to who Prince Harold might appoint as Prime Minister in the event of Mr. Shapira’s resignation or further disability, Mr. Shapira holds widespread popularity both among the nobility and general populace, and is viewed as a national hero, enduring imprisonment during the Ralkovian occupation and surviving the sniper attack upon his recall to the Palace by Prince Harold after the Ralkovian surrender, proclaiming “I will serve my Prince” as Ralkovian stragglers and Ralkoviak militias took aim at him as he ascended the stairs to the Palace.

The efforts among many nobles, with general support from Monarchist members of the Popular Assembly to elevate the Prince to full kingship had been making steady, if quiet progress through legal analyses for the past year. A full legal analysis would need to be presented to Prince Harold by the Lord Attorney General before any announcement by the Prince of a change to the Constitution. The gist of the Malchut movement toward kingship would be a total and final divorce of the throne from the Raskov dynasty, under which Agar-Na was granted independence from Ralkovia in 1975. Since then not much has been made of the legal an political issues of de jure feifdom to the now defunct Ralkovian throne, but Malchut supporters claim that such a move would provide a more stable basis for directives from the throne, and would meet with higher regard by the nation’s neighbors in the northwest. Although some Liberals in the Popular Assembly are sympathetic to the Malchut idea, many would like to see any move toward kingship paired with granting more and universal extension of the franchise to municipal and local government elections.

The moves have been colored since Principle Chairman Pelsh’s latest announcement with some measure of partisanship in the Popular Assembly. This is unusual given the limited rights of the Popular Assembly, and the traditional reluctance of both Monarchist and Liberal parties to comment on selection of a Prime Minister. Monarchist sentiment seems to favor the Foreign Minister, Count Leos Abravanel as a successor to Mr. Shapira. Count Abravanel is a personal friend of Eitoan Secretary for Foreign Affairs Andrew Falkowski, enjoying shooting and golf in his visits to Secretary Falkowski. Although the Monarchists are not particularly Vladarsik leaning, this personal friendship may be viewed in Sevyich as a bias in the event of any gulf in relations between Czaslyudia and Eitoan. Liberals, on the other hand have been strong proponents of Lord Attorney General Judge Jonas Dobrodovsky. As with the Popular Assembly Monarchists, the Liberal Party has shown little concern with foreign relations. However, the Attorney General’s son currently serves as the Commercial Attache in Czaslyudia and has a Czaslyudian wife. Although the diplomatic manoeuvring in the northwest has not effected the performance of either possible successor, any further moves toward a kingship proposal could be complicated by a succession controversy. It is very likely that in the event of Mr. Shapira’s resignation Prince Harold could turn to the military for a candidate as head of a caretaker government.

Outside the capital, the discussion hasn’t picked up much interest. Most Agarese look upon foreign affairs as so much Palace blathering. For their part, neither Judge Dobrodovsky or Count Abravanel had anything to say, either about the Pelsh announcement or the Malchut movement. In his official capacity, the Foreign Minister dismissed concerns, stating “We maintain friendly relations with all our neighbors, and expect to do so long into the future. Both Eitoan and Czaslyudia are seen positively at the Palace, and are dependable trade partners with Agar-Na, and we share many connections across the border. As always, Prince Harold offers his assistance with leaders of both countries for the benefit of all in the northwest.”

PRINCIPLE CHAIRMAN PELSH AUTHORIZES DEPLOYMENTS TO STRALKOVIA, NAVAL EXERCISES IN VANGUAT
21 September 2036
By Inessa Shoutvin, Anatoli Lykov

After another period of absence from the public eye, Principle Chairman Pelsh has re-emerged with his typical gusto toward regional security, his provocative 31 August address apparently behind him. Addressing briefly the sudden flare up in hostility between the Theocratic Matriarchy and the State of Ordena, Principle Chairman Pelsh called for "securing a peaceful resolution-- using the West as a playground for destruction its peoples hardly deserve is unacceptable." With the deployment of 3rd Fleet's Task Force "Olokhan the Great" to the Shartourn, the Czaslyudian head of state reaffirmed its role to preserve the safety of sea lanes "upon which the livelihood of billions of innocents depend" and for the "continuation of the lasting peace."

On the morning of the 21st, the Department of War's Media Representative Department announced the Sea Forces' deployment of a sizable contingent of naval infantry to Stralkovia, in order to support both the recent relocation of Czaslyudiya's Western Fleet Command there as well as in support of a Czaslyudian obligation to Stralkovian defense through the Sevyich Treaty on Mutual Assistance, finalized late this summer. At the present moment, it will be the third largest foreign ground deployment of the Czaslyudian military, after commitments in Varathron and those in CTSA allies such as Dernel. This clearly comes in response to the actions of Eitoani-led coalition member, the Republic of Volsku, after months of aggression in international waters in the Great Inland Sea against Stralkovian shipping. What is known about the deployment is that a constituent of the force is the Naval Infantry's 5th Brigade, which is listed as an 'interdiction force', with anti-access/area denial weaponry, including SAMs and anti-ship missiles, clearly to stave off any aggression against the Stralkovian homeland.

The Deputy Chief of Naval Operations also spoke at a Chevray conference announcing naval exercises in the Northern Vanguat, specifically its perennial CODEF-Z (Coastal Defense - Zmyletina) exercise, which emphasizes surface fleet maneuver and operations, including simulating anti-mine and anti-submarine warfare. Participating in the exercise will be the Eastern Fleet Command's (ESTFLTCOM) 1st Fleet, Seagoing Fleet Command (SEAFLTCOM)'s 2nd and 7th Fleets. and a contingent of Cassian vessels. On September 30th, amidst the ashore naval conference that occurs parallel to the exercises, there will be a special reception held for the returning formations of Operational Strategic Group Periphery.

In spite of these movements which may be perceived as provocations, especially in light of the growing conflict in our south, the officials of the Federal Republic insist they are only meant as evaluations of Czaslyudian readiness and that the FRCP only "wants peace." The public-facing bureau of the Department of Foreign Relations announced, toward this end, they were to make diplomatic rounds in the Northern Reaches and Great Inland Sea, ensuring the continuation of stable trade relations. Still, the Department of Media Relations of the Department of War warned against any "unjust provocation" against Czaslyudian allies and interests, by state or by proxy.

Northern Solisian News Network - Your National News for Northern Solisia

"Good morning, Northern Solisia. I am Ferosana Ajiyuri.

Just this morning, Ordenite naval forces are involved in ongoing military exercises in the northwestern waters close to our territories in the north. The Ordenites are using several units, and all of them are operating out of Istoloa, Fustera, and Potthan deep in the region of Tarao which is also currently in the thick chaos of war. The Ordenites also released a public statement from their State Presidium, condemning all New Solisian Union military and political activity in Western Greater Dienstad, accusing the New Solisian Union of contributing to instability in this region.

While La Victoria and the rest of the New Union is currently preparing responses and statements in response to the Ordenites, provincial governments and various other groups and organizations from Northwestern Solisia, Northern Solisia, and Northeastern Solisia are renewing their demands that the New Union increase and improve surveillance of our own northern waters, to upgrade and expand the anti-submarine capabilities and training of our Navy, and most of all, they have appealed to the greater government in La Victoria for the continued expansion of all northern coastal defenses.

Inside the province of Turakaira, various communities have made their homes along the coasts of the north, and their leaders are now in the middle of communicating more intensely with the government in La Victoria. Hundreds of letters and emails have now been sent, and many more are on the way, as a great number of highly concerned Solisian citizens have now made it clear that their appeals for the Ministry of War to give strict, steady, and strong answers to their questions and to communicate with them in greater detail and in greater manner of intimacy, as they have also requested that Northern Solisians in the government of La Victoria be able to also meet with them as soon as they are able to do so.

As a Northern Solisian myself, especially a Turakaira Solisian, I have the permission to assist in sharing news with local commentary for strangers who are not so familiar with the North. To people who may be strangers to our lives here in Northern Solisia, from west to east, they may not understand such urgency. But to all of us here, it is our homeland just as much as all of the New Union is also our homeland.

Regardless, several other messages and appeals have come, and are still coming out of provinces and member states of the New Union such as the Northern Elizarinian islands, Northern Azynia, and several other provincial governments both along the coast and inland. They have also joined together in providing their own statements concerning this matter.

And so, by making these statements and sharing them on all our behalf, they have demonstrated themselves, and they continue to demonstrate themselves, that they are deeply willing to give their support to the rest of the north. They are all calling now for greater and greater naval preparations, and for the New Union to be far more aware of the needs of all northern Solisian peoples for safety and security from the ongoing threats being made by the Ordenites.

Now, we would like to bring ourselves closer to the ongoing meeting taking place in the central northern city of Yurakaivelesaywa, more intimately known to us as Yurakai, where several representatives and leaders from the various governments in Northern Solisia are now gathering together with several other officials from the many provinces, especially the Central Solisian provinces which are close to their northern sisters. Countless municipal leaders are sitting down with various representatives of our Union military. Together with them, so many local organizations and the near limitless number of delegates from the smallest to the greatest communities have also made themselves known.

I would like to invite all of our listeners, our readers, and to all people watching us on their televisions and their computers to please give their attention to our reporter who is now in the meeting with them and with our friends from various other news organizations from all over Northern Solisia. Please give your attention now to our correspondent, Raika Yenn, reporting directly from Yurakai."

For anyone watching the news on their computers or their televisions, the focus now shifted as Ferosana and the very familiar studio of NSNN disappeared. Now in view was Raika Yenn, who was standing in one of the huge public halls of Yurakai, where thousands upon thousands of people are present. Nearly unlimited conversations could still be heard right behind her, all despite the little microphone attached to her clothes near her mouth.

The Eyrai woman had to move closer to the camera than usual, for there was really not a lot of room left for people, not even journalists, because of how insanely present people are in just one of these halls. Everywhere, people moved. Everywhere, people talked. Everywhere, people stood or sat or just squatted. There are hundreds of badges, hundreds of government colors, and countless folders, endless tablets, too many handwritten notes, and bundles upon bundles upon bundles of printed and handwritten letters.

Officials and officers, municipal representatives and provincial workers, university people and naval families, fishing communities and trade organizations, religious groups and veterans, students and so many people from smaller and more unfamiliar communities were all mixing together in the hall. The hall had just run out of chairs. More chairs were being delivered, but it still wasn't enough. So many people resorted to leaning against walls, to leaning against one another, to sharing chairs, to giving up chairs for others who needed them, to standing or sitting with delegations which they did not belong to, to remaining on the floor with bags between their knees or upon their thighs, to sitting upon the railings, and to whatever places were left for anyone to just simply be in.
The camera showed people passing bottles of water, passing bowls of food, passing chargers for laptops and phones, passing documents and loose pages, or passing many other things that just needed passing. Translators were everywhere, because not everyone spoke great Solsta, but also because the seemingly unending variety of peoples who called Northern Solisia home were not just from the settlements known to the New Union. Rural peoples, especially from the more remote mountains, have also come.

To the stranger who may be seeing this for the first time, it was perhaps the most unimaginable scene. But to any Solisian living or having lived in the Union, such a scene like that was the most normal thing they would ever see. The camera captured crowds mingling into crowds, individuals coming and going out of this group or that group, recording languages that were older than Solsta, showing to all the clothing of this people and that people, carrying food that was not so commonly consumed by most ordinary Northern Solisians who preferred to join others in the greater, far more established settlements. Though Northern Solisia was not always the most densely populated region of all Solisia, it was still remarkable that so many different yet so similar peoples could and wanted to gather here. They came out of the mountains, out of the coastlines, out of islands, out of rivers, from the longest roads and from the most forgotten communities.

Now the camera shifted back to Raika, who was now adjusting her microphone so that it wouldn't keep on moving around on her clothes. When she was done, Raika smiled at the camera and said, "Thanks, Ferosana, much appreciated. This meeting has really transformed into something far beyond the usual. So many people from all over Northern Solisia are still coming in. We've also gotten people coming all the way from Central Solisia just because their provinces were closer to the North. The new arrivals can't fit in here anymore, so the Yurakai people are now asking them to go into the other halls but even they are filling up fast. For the first time, it looks like the 8 halls of Yurakai are actually going to be completely used up.

"Anyway, the uh… The meeting is now dividing itself into so many other discussions because there's just too many people, they've stopped counting, so… So it looks like we're seeing the people organize the many different priorities they wanted to talk about in case… Sorry, excuse me… In case the worst possible things could happen and in case they may have to make more preparations for everything else. As you can see right behind me… Yes, focus on that stage. There's… Yes. There's a really, really big monitor that's showing up for everyone right now and the Yurakai people are now just trying to help everyone get themselves into the rooms where they need to go talk and listen to those talks for everyone. They just look at the monitor and figure out where they need to go.

"I think you can see the categories from here. Zoom in, Karanyasai, yes, there we go. Okay, so, there's naval stuff, yeah, that's naval defense, and I think there's also talks on anti-submarine warfare. I can see coastal surveillance, I see port security, civil defense. There's so many. And just look at the crowds, there's… wow. Okay, look at that."

The camera shifted, moving again. Now the camera focused on a massive delegation, one that was filled with many women and some men. They looked like…

"Oh, this is great. Karanyasai, just keep the camera on them. The Airakanite-Sao islanders. Yes, that's the one. It looks like they're now entering the Naval discussions."

The camera followed them, with Raika watching as the Airakanite-Sao islander delegates walked. So many of them were tall and some of them looked paler. Others looked brown. So many of them also had light, seemingly lean builds. The ones looking around had white, almost luminous looking eyes, and almost all of them had tattoos on their skin. None of them were dressed like mainlanders, because unlike the Eyrai, the Airakanite-Sao islanders wore clothes that had no sleeves and their tattoos were completely visible. The clothes they wore also looked like they were water-proofed and so many of them wore belts that seemed to carry items, tools, and some of them seemed to be opening things on their belts that allowed them to get some food to chew on. But Raika and the camera noticed that all of them wore their clothes in a way that suggested a little more. The islanders bared their legs and arms but wore heavier looking weatherproof wrap around their waists and shoulders, and some of them chose to wear boots instead of sandals or slippers.

The camera kept on following them until the last islanders disappeared into the room.

Now Raika turned to the camera and said, "We're going to try and get access to one of the other rooms and see if we can talk to some of the people. It's going to be a bit hard with all of the people around, so we're gonna need to cut this for a bit, Ferosana."

"No problem. We'll come back to you when you ping us, Raika."

Raika and Yurakai vanished. The screen now returned to Ferosana and the studio.

Now Ferosana said, "That was just Yurakai and Raika. It looks like the Naval people are going to be talking with the islanders more intimately than we expected. So many people have come to Yurakai that it is hard to really imagine-"

Ready at any moment to follow the battle flag
And punish all enemies with your weapons!"

CASTILLIAN FEDERATION TO WITHDRAW FORCES IN WESTERN GREATER DIENSTAD

PRESLAFF — The Backès administration has announced plans to withdraw the Federation's military garrisons from western Greater Dienstad, including its strategically positioned installations on Philotas Islands, a territory of Imbrinium, as deteriorating regional security conditions threaten to draw the Federation into an increasingly volatile geopolitical confrontation.

The move comes just as the Marshite Theocracy formally declared war on the Ordenstaat, after the Ordenite-backed Istoloan forces launched a massive assault on a Marshite fleet in the Mar Khaldivico, subsequently aided by Ordenite forces in the Shartourn Sea.

The latest events reflect the recent concerns raised by the State and Defense Secretariats, and the move represents a significant reduction in Castillia's military presence in the western reaches of the region as it explodes into conflict.

Under the withdrawal plan, Castillian military personnel stationed in the Philotas Islands and at several smaller installations throughout western Greater Dienstad will be redeployed to bases within the Federation or to existing military facilities in friendly territories in eastern Greater Dienstad. The government has not disclosed the number of personnel affected by the decision or provided a definitive timetable for the withdrawal, citing operational security considerations.

In a statement released Wednesday, the Secretariat of State described the decision as a precautionary measure intended to safeguard Castillian personnel while preserving the Federation's ability to respond to developments throughout Greater Dienstad.

"The Castillian Federation remains committed to the security and stability of Greater Dienstad. However, the continued deterioration of the regional security environment has necessitated a reassessment of our military posture, particularly in areas where the safety of Castillian personnel can no longer be reasonably assured," the statement read.

Philotas Islands at Center of Withdrawal

The planned evacuation of Philotas Island is expected to be among the most consequential elements of the withdrawal.

Situated in the west-central of Greater Dienstad, the islands have served as a forward operating location for Castillian military personnel, providing a platform for regional surveillance, maritime patrols, and logistical support. Castillian forces have been operating from the Imbriniumian territory since the two governments entered into a basing agreement over a decade ago when the Castillian Federation pursued its Punitive Expedition against Potthan. The islands furthermore served as a strategic midpoint between the Federation and combat zones in Asadabad during the Castillian intervention there, which ended two years ago.

Military officials familiar with the withdrawal planning indicated that personnel stationed on the island would be evacuated in stages, with sensitive equipment and military materiel removed before the final departure of Castillian forces.

The Secretariat of Defense has declined to specify whether the Federation intends to maintain ownership or administrative control of its military facilities on Philotas Islands following the withdrawal. The Defense Secretariat has built over tens of trillions worth of military infrastructure at its military bases in the Philotas Islands over the past decade.

Backès Administration Faces Significant Strategic Calculus

President Marlène Backès has received briefings from senior military and diplomatic officials concerning the deteriorating situation in western Greater Dienstad, according to a government official familiar with the discussions.

The decision to withdraw the garrisons follows an internal review of the Federation's military posture, which examined the strategic value of maintaining forward-deployed forces against the growing risks associated with their continued presence.

The withdrawal presents the Backès administration with a difficult strategic calculation.

While maintaining an western military presence has allowed Castillia to project influence and demonstrate its commitment to regional security, the escalating conflict has increased the possibility that isolated Castillian installations could become entangled in hostilities beyond the Federation's immediate control.

The administration must also consider the diplomatic consequences of withdrawing its forces from an increasingly contested region as several nations, particularly those within the Commission for Dienstadi Petroleum Export Coordination (CDPEC), have relied upon Castillia's military presence as a demonstration of its commitment to their security. Those partners now may regard the withdrawal as an indication of the Federation's diminishing willingness to maintain a forward military posture.

The CDPEC, whose Castillian delegation is subordinate to the State Secretariat, has announced it will convene an emergency session due to the outbreak of major conflict in the eastern part of the region.

Diplomatic considerations are also a part of the calculus due in part to leaked negative comments made by Backès weeks ago regarding the Solisian Union's military buildup. The Castillian ambassador was summoned by the Solisian foreign ministry in response to those comments, where the ambassador then held a press conference outside the Solisian foreign ministry doubling down on the President's comments.

The diplomatic imbgrolio has strained relations between the two countries, and many within the State and Defense Secretariats fear Solisia filling a power vacuum created by Castillian withdrawal from the Philotas Islands and elsewhere across western Greater Dienstad.

When asked about those concerns conflicting with the overall decision to withdraw, one senior Defense official stated that "Castillian troops dying by virtue of being parked adjacent to the mainland Holy Marsh is a nonstarter right now."

Solisia Seeks Security Consultations with Imbrinium

With great concern for the safety and security of the Philotas Islands in Western Dienstad, due to the ongoing war between our sisters in the Theocracy of Holy Marsh and the State of Ordena, the Solisian Foreign Ministry has informed us that it has sent messages and has tried to establish direct contact with Imbrinium, requesting discussions about the security of the Islands following the announcement from Castillia about withdrawing from the Islands. Specifically, Her Majesty, Queen Wessa I, and her Foreign Minister, Morales, have expressed their wishes to recognize the sovereignty of Imbrinium. The Foreign Ministry wishes us to inform the public that it has done their best to politely offer possible assistance to the Islands should Imbrinium wish to sit down with Solisian representatives and speak with them as equals. No agreement has been reached, and no deployment has been announced.

In addition to this, the Foreign Ministry also expressed their concerns to both Castillia and Imbrinium as the Philotas Islands are very close to the territories of the Socialist Republic of Magdaran, which is currently under the protection of the Solisian Southern Defense Command. The New Solisian Union has a serious interest in ensuring the safety and security of the Socialist Republic and wishes to have plain and honest discussions with both Castillia and Imbrinium concerning the fate of the Philotas Islands.

Heightened Military and Political Tensions

Currently the 6th Mechanized Regiment is returning from Wellovia, after conducting combat training to put them to the test. The 2nd Mechanized Division is the first unit of its size to carry out this training. Following this an Army spokesman revealed the 7th Regiment of the 3rd Armored Division, with supporting elements including a battalion, from the 1st Armored Regiment will be transported to Wellovia, to carry out the same training. An additional statement by the Ministry of Defense, has announced the formation of the 20th Guard Division, which for the time being will not be at full strength. In a previous statement, the National Guard was being activated for service in order to augment security and assist in defending Kolechian soil in the event of war. In a similar precaution, emergency shelters have re-opened across the nation.

This all follows on the back of continued tensions in the region from the far West to Central Dienstad. There is still an ongoing insurgency in New Imperiosa and there is a tense standoff with Harannica. To make matters worse domestically, this has occurred as national elections are around the corner. With President Safadi not seeking a third term, this will leave both leadership and candidates in the UNP lining up to secure another victory. Likewise, the NDP will be eager to field their own candidate and take the nation in a different direction. Additionally, to gain victory will likely mean an alliance with one of the smaller parties and including their goals and concerns into the agenda. It should be no surprise with events abroad and at home, there is deeper concern over who may win and what their policies will be at this critical juncture. Political experts across the spectrum, have stated this may be one of the most historic elections in years. For the various candidates who seek to lead the nation from the Presidential Office in Kashgar, they will first go through a round of primaries and then they will each represent their party in the national elections.

Foreign Affairs Established
A spokesperson for the Minister of Foreign Affairs Timur Eldarkhanov, has announced the establishment of a new embassy, in the United Islands of New Calandria. Kolechian representatives approached the United Islands Foreign Affairs Office and discussed the creation of new foreign relations, between our nations. Officials from the United Islands accepted the proposal and have prepared a site in the Gran Pavion (their main diplomatic quarter) for our new Ambassador, Kamila Khadzhiyeva. Kamila hails from the well to do Khadzhiyev family of the capital city, Kashgar. Her large family has historic ties to business, the military, academia and most recently the diplomatic service. Her uncle Shirvani was six years ago, made the first Kolechian ambassador to the city of Pax Gothica, in the region of Gholgoth. She was inspired to follow in his footsteps, graduating from the prestigious Kashgar University she entered government service, also devoting some of her time to humanitarian work. This will be her first post as ambassador abroad, and both herself and officials in the Ministry believe this promotion will be profitable for both nations.

A brief overview, by the United Island Foreign Affairs Office in part reads "The United Islands is a federal parliamentary republic comprised of 32 main islands, and around 1,500 smaller islands. The nation is centered around the Caldera Sea. The UI is home to an estimated 250 million people, of which most are Calandrian or Wuomui. There are fifteen states, known as the island states, that comprise the federation; and seventeen tribal nations of either Wuomui, Kua Kotoan, or Orumokkan. The UI has a rich history spanning almost three centuries insofar as settlers and almost a millennium of ancient history from the first nation people that settled the island. Economically, the UI is considered a social market economy with the nation's largest industries being that of fishing, mineral extraction, oil, and technology. The UI is a part of the Southern Seas Community, an economic and cultural forum in Greater Dienstad. As a parliamentary republic, the UI is led by a Prime Minister, who is currently Enrikke Orvala. The UI is unique in that the premiership serves as both the head of government and head of state. A ceremonial office exists for the Wuomui monarchy, who is currently Wanakke (King/Queen), Se'arra Kala-Orkana. This was established following the Treaty of Wuomu."
Yes, this nation was inspired by the video game.

United Islands issues travel warning — pushes for talks and cessation of hostilities
Hostilities have ignited between the Ordenite State and the Theocratic Matriarchy, drawing concern from around the region
Editor Mara Kkinteiro | Nerva FD, Wuomu State, The United Islands of New Calandria

NERVA, United Islands — In a new development, Western Dienstad is once again at the forefront of international concern with recent news that the Theocratic Matriarchy has gone to war against the Ordenite State. The situation has only destabilized further with the withdrawal of the Castillian Federation from islands in the region, in an apparent drawdown and shift in their focus over international affairs.

The outbreak of conflict has resulted in the State Department issuing a travel warning to United Islands citizens in the region, urging them to avoid travel to areas impacted by the conflict and providing resources for the United Islands State Department's Civil Emergency hotline (99.73.900.8900*5).

''The sudden breakdown in diplomacy and the outbreak of hostilities has prompted us to take measures to ensure the safety of our citizens abroad. We are providing resources to citizens in the region and coordinating with regional airlines to provide free travel home during this time." Artuo T'Angeio, the Secretary of State said during a press conference.

Western Dienstad has been embroiled in a series of conflicts as of late, with the State Department defining it as an ''Area of Concern'' during its threat assessment analysis last year. A travel advisory had originally been put in place for areas such as Magdara, but this new level is an escalation and indication of Nerva's unease with the region. Last year, retired Minister of Finance, Santino Oregella found himself in a controversy after a memo was leaked of him and several vice ministers describing the western nations as ''second world''. He was forced to resign in the ensuing backlash by Órvala's administration.

According to a State Department official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity as they were not permitted to speak publicly, said that Nerva has summoned the Castillian Federation's ambassador, Col. Beauchamp, to discuss the situation in the region. While the United Islands does not operate in the region, the Castillian withdrawal does offer a chance to provide some security and perhaps travel back to the United Islands for citizens trapped in the region.

Prime Minister Dac Córvand held a press conference at the Ceantre della Cultúra Naçiónale (National Center of Culture) in Nerva, where she was reviewing a recent Wuomui addition to the facility's museum.

''We are currently monitoring the situation, the (Department of) State Security has been assessing the situation around the clock and keeping our office updated. We are making contact with some of our partners in the region to discuss next steps,'' she stated.

The State Department released a memo following the press conference urging the cessation of hostilities and a call for diplomacy. It's likely that the United Islands will send delegations to the affected nations to try and mediate the situation in the coming days. At the present time, the fifth fleet which is operating in the Southern Seas, has continued its patrols in the region and does not appear to be making a move to the west. Nerva's strategy is likely to give time for talks to proceed before they need to actively monitor the conflict like they did in Darvand.
